Promila couldn't tolerate the scene and rushed inside. She was sad and gloomy, but she didn't blame her bahu nor did could see her only son being taken away by two constables. The once peaceful Bhattacharya household was shattered in moments!

He would appreciate my eyes, my lips, my rosebud cheeks and the mangalsutra he had tied on my neck. 

I place my head on his shoulder as we walk ahead. The sounds of Tagore music and the typical Durga puja dholaks with the smell of some typical bangla dishes surrounding me and Debu. We were the sweet Bong couple in the eyes of the world. Debu was never aggressive with me. He was not a sex maniac or a hard worker on bed, but his presence was that of a charming sweet man. His love for poetry and songs melted my heart and drew him towards him. I didn't even bother to put him on a scale with some of the manly men I knew in life. It didn't matter as much.

But as we walked ahead, a mist surrounded us. Then it became denser and denser.....

I gasped!

Debu did too!

The mist expanded and expanded!

I felt my hand leave Debu's as an unknown force pulled me inside the mist! I gasped loud for Debu to grab me but he gasped too as he got pulled away from me!

Just then I immersed more and more inside the fog! I gasped aloud but I couldn't hear my own voice! The sounds of Tagore music and the Durga Puja dholaks slowly faded away from my ears and a whole new sound replaced all of them! 

A whole new sound! A sound I was not familiar with! 

It too was a Dholak sound, but it sounded nouvelle to me! The combination of that dholak sound soon joined in with another sound...

The fierce running of a horse!

I looked ahead to see the sound of the horse coming towards me without a doubt! I looked further and noticed a shadowy figure riding a horse. A strange smell hit my nose. A very deep masculine aroma! 

I stood silent as the horseman came near and near, but the mist didn't allow me to see him clearly. But my skin pores trembled with a shameless latent lust when I felt that the man has a darker skin tone and a big masculine stature too! He slowly walked towards me and even the horse looked deep into my eyes!

I felt like I was freezed when the man suddenly said something to me in a language I wasn't even remotely familiar with! It wasn't Bengali by any chance! Rather the tonality was so different that it gave me some strange chills. I tried to see him through the mist but I couldn't! 

And then the very next moment...

He forwarded a hand and felt my cheeks. I noticed he had a rugged palm of a darker tone contrasting mine and somehow I didn't protest when his fingers felt my cheeks and then my nose and ultimately my lips. His thick thumb alone kept playing with my petal like lips and I stood there as if I was okay with it, infact his touches made me emit inaudible moans

However, just then the very same palm had the audacity to move a step further! The rugged fingers grabbed my mangalsutra and yanked it off so hard that the string tore apart with each bead falling down!

I gasped loud.....

But then ofcourse the dream had gone away!

Pallavi remembered this dream and looked down to see that she still had Debojit's mangalsutra around her neck! She was a  free single woman now, but strangely a soft part of her still hesitated to take the martial locket out of her neck. 

Pallavi sighed and then sniffed a delicious aroma...

"Is mamuni cooking some Pabda fish? Hmmmm" 

Pallavi rushed out of the balcony to clear her doubts.
