I snuck out of the house when Arun was busy taking a shower.For me, it was all a little too dangerous and exciting. Knowing how attentive and observant my husband is, the thrill of sneaking around for my stalker was a rush.

If I told him that my stalker wanted me to wear a black saree and reach the community park, Arun would not let me go.

I spared both of us a painful conversation and took a chance to find out my stalker on my own.

"Where have you been? I was about to call...." Arun's words get stuck as soon as he sees my Avtar.

I was approaching slowly. The saree fits me like a glove, its fabric gliding around my body with every step, and my hand is busy managing it.

Arun's jaw dropped to the floor. 

His eyes linger on my low-cut blouse, which reveals my décolletage. I can see my Husband is enticed.

"I dressed to draw out my stalker at the park." I take advantage of the moment.

"What?" Arun's gaze slithers onto my plunging neckline, revealing a hint of cleavage.

'Yes. He wanted me to....." I speak cautiously.

"What's in your hand?" Arun speaks dryly.

"Oh, he left this at the front door." I gulp, trying to determine my Husband's reaction to my reckless pursuit.

To my surprise, Arun finds spring on his steps and glides past me quickly.

"Where are you going?" I shout.

"The bastard made a mistake." Arun shouts back cheerfully, "He forgot about the street camera."

I came after him downstairs but did not follow him beyond our main gate.

I know where he is going. He is going to the security office of our gated community to check the recordings.

My heart suddenly sinks. I feel disappointed. Does this end just like that?

A bitterness clouds my mind, and my attention goes back to the mystery parcel I am holding.

I unpack it, and inside there is a box. Inside the box, I find a blindfold and a letter.

The letter was digitally printed.

I read it quickly :
# Wear your prettiest nightwear in the evening and wait for my wifi name.#
Blood rushes between my legs. The excitement returns, and so does the illicit thrill.

Then it hits me; if Arun catches the identity of my stalker, then this all will be over instantly. Suddenly I am torn. Part of me does not want my Husband to get lucky and catch my stalker.

I run my hand on the velvety blindfold. I would never get to know what my stalker planned to do with this blindfold; automatically, my teeth rake my lower lip.

I am reluctant to show the contents of the box to my husband. If he catches my stalker, then I have to.

What if he fails to catch him? Is there a possibility? 

I quickly hide the blindfold and letter under the cushion of the sofa couch and fill the box with eggs.

I had to replace the box's contents with something that does not exclusively belong to our house; otherwise, Arun would recognize it.

*ring ring* my phone buzzes. Meghna.
 
"Hey...forget about the stalk..." I speak immediately.

Meghna cuts me off," Oh, thank god it isn't Sumit. Offf, what a relief!!!"

I frown, "Why do you think my stalker is your hubby?"

Meghna laughs, "Well, you look the way you look, and I had to be sure my husband wasn't stalking you."

I let my body fall on the couch in disbelief, "What did you do? I told you not to tell anybody about my stalker situation."

Meghna assures, "Relax, I did not tell him anything about that. I just asked Sumit directly if he is having an affair."

I slap my forehead lightly, "Oh, poor Sumit!!!"

Meghna sounds remorseful, "Yeah, he immediately panicked and threw all kinds of logic at me. It was kind of sweet of him. I tell you what, I haven't heard that many 'I love you, Meghna' from Sumit in many years."

I stare at the eggs in the box and speak to Meghna, "Oh gosh, Meghna, I am sorry that I made you paranoid."

Meghna was talking, and I heard Arun's voice and the familiar sound of our main gate.

I end my call and stiffly stand up on my feet . I hear another male voice other than Arun's. Time to meet my stalker.

My stomach is doing somersaults; I am both terrified that Arun would find out about my lies about the sheer curtains if my stalker rats me out and also excited to find out who this stalker of mine is.

The door opens. Arun enters with Neeraj.

In our drawing room, Neeraj is standing. He is a 20-year-old volleyball player. He is exceptionally large, almost 6'5'' tall. He uses that advantage for his volleyball career.

 Last year he was picked up by the Railways via sports quota and now works as a clerk there. Our community is proud of him, and there was a celebration at our community auditorium when he got selected for Railways. He aspires to represent Railways at the National level and play competitive leagues. 

Neeraj is my stalker? It is kind of hot getting stalked by an athlete. 

I suddenly feel shy in front of him. My heart is pounding, and I am trying my best to keep myself composed in front of Arun and Neeraj.

"Hello, Trisha Bhabi. How are you?" Neeraj greets me with a rather surprised smile while his eyes roam on my body in admiration. I am still in my slippery black saree.
His smile was infectious, and it spread across my face.

"I am fine. Long time no see. Busy with your practice?" I ask.

Neeraj can't take his eyes off me. His attention is slipping.

"Yeah, work and practice." He scratches his head and asks Arun, "Arun Bhaiya, I will be late for work. Where are those vintage volleyball cards you wanted to show me?"
What vintage card? I am confused, and my eyes hop from Neeraj to Arun's.

Arun addresses Neeraj, who is towering several inches above my husband, in an authoritative tone, "I saw the camera footage, Neeraj. You dropped that parcel on our doorstep. Tell us everything before I call your parents."

"Call my Parents? Why? I only delivered it because Cheeku asked me to." He shows no sign of guilt or fear. His voice was steady.

"Cheeku? You mean Major Obaid's son?" Arun is puzzled, and so am I cause Cheeku is a 10-year-old kid. His father is a retired Major and works at an MNC now.

Neeraj points out the obvious," Yeah, that Cheeku. He told me an old uncle gave him that and asked him to give it to me, so I can leave it at your house."

Arun rubs his face with both hands. He is getting red in anger.

"Did Cheeku tell who this old man was?"

Neeraj shrugs, "I didn't ask. What's the big deal? What was in that parcel anyway? What's going on?" his head moves to and fro, asking both of us.
Before Arun could say anything.

I reply, "Eggs. There were eggs in the box."

Arun cringes his face, "Eggs?"

There is a shift in Neeraj's face now. His facial muscles flinch. He does not believe me.

Shoot !!! He carried the box here. He must have caught my lie by sensing the weight or no rolling of eggs inside the box...whatever. ...I can discern that he does not believe me.

His eyes roam across my body, checking the pattern of my Black saree but not in appreciation but in an investigative way.

Oh my stars!!!!  It was written on the box-# Black suits you#

"Eggs? Why the hell he sent you eggs?" Arun is oblivious to a sudden change in Neeraj.

Neeraj subtly smiles at my direction and makes knowing eye contact.

I blush and turn away coyly. I imagined him as my stalker for the past few minutes.

"You can go, Neeraj. Sorry for the trouble." Arun wants Neeraj to leave.

"So there are no vintage volleyball cards that your Uncle from the USA gave you. Is there?" Neeraj smirks in disappointment.

"No. I am sorry." Arun looks guilty for the ruse.

Neeraj makes no more fuss; instead, he grins at me," Trisha bhabi, you were right. It's been a while. I would love to catch up with you sometime."

I smile politely at him. His eyes sparkle in desire as he ogles me for a last time before leaving the house.

"You did not have time to change into something else?" Arun angrily expresses his discontent. Clearly, Neeraj's ogling did not escape him.

" I did not know you would tag Neeraj along with you." I snap at him.

"It is my fault now, huh? My wife went out on her own to catch her maniac stalker and that maniac sending us eggs." He shouts," Where are those eggs."

I gulp and point him toward the box sitting on a slab nearby.

Arun examines the box and asks, "What's the meaning of this? Did you take out any of the eggs?"

I lie blatantly, "No. Why?"

Arun gravely says, "There must be something. Maybe these eggs are arranged in a specific pattern. Patterns have meanings, you know."

"Un-huh." I scowl. Now it is getting ridiculous.

Arun cautiously picked up an egg and tapped it gently against the marble slab. Nothing Happens. He does the same with the next one.

"What are you doing?" I could not stay silent.

"Finding clues. Evidently, it is a puzzle. One of these eggs must have a clue. He is playing a game with me, Trisha." Arun reveals.

"With you?" I roll my eyes, "How did you reach that conclusion."

"It is obvious. He sends you away to the park, and at the same time, he sends me these eggs. He is taunting me, Trisha. I am gonna solve this puzzle, and I am gonna find him. When I do..." His face twists in darker thoughts.

I don't know whether to cry or laugh watching my husband losing his mind over a bunch of eggs which has nothing to do with my stalker.

The painful comedy continues until Aruns leaves for work. He even took the box and the eggs.

I, on the other hand, wait for the sun to set. In the evening, the game will resume.
