Many think that Desai is very strong, very exalted and almost untouchable. That he has all the threads
in his hand and can do what he wants!
I am of a completely different opinion!
(Maybe the author can provide us with some light on his past).
I rather compare him with the Sultan in the "1001 Nights Tale".
The starting point in this tale was that his beloved wife cheated on him.
(Although he was also like Desai, powerful, untouchable, rich, ruler over people).
*To cope with his torment and cheating, he began to sleep with a different woman every night, having
them all killed after intercourse.
Thus he took his revenge on all women, "especially happily married" women and their husbands.
This continued until it was the turn of the vizier's elder daughter.
This was the time of the younger sister "Scheherazade", who was able to distract him by telling stories
to the sultan at night and save her sister from death after 1001 nights...*
Nidhi in the role of the sultan's younger daughter "Scheherazade"!
I believe that Desai also suffered a fate similar to that of the sultan, and that he lived out his hatred of
women (especially married ones!) by doing everything he could to lure them into his bed in order to take
revenge on them later.
This is how he finds satisfaction, because deep down he is a broken, lonely, hateful and pitiful man...
He is condemned to remain alone and have no family.
He is not capable of leading a family with a woman by his side who is on a par with him.
His mistrust of women and hatred of himself will always stand in his way....
Meera realised this in the last few hours she spent with Desai face to face and in the presence of Krish.
She decided for herself not to slap and insult him; she found it more painful and humiliating for him to
stew in his own hatred and lie about life...
