I have no problem at all with the direction in which the future of the two spouses (Krish and Meera) is heading.

So I do not care at all (and, I do not really give a shit about!) whether Meera ends up living in a partnership 
with Desai or not!
I also do not care if she spends her future as a wife with Krish!

I respect all readers who are more attracted to Desai, or Meera, or even Krish.
But that is not the aspect.

Ultimately, all three are adults and are capable of making their own decisions.

But why should Krish be
- talked down to
- trampled
- undignified
- to a piece of dirt
- Personally humiliate
- Undignified ...

to be made? 
(Which some readers so enthusiastically long for!)
Why?

Both Meera and Krish are capable of thinking and acting rationally.
And if they no longer see a future together in their marriage, then they should separate like two civilised human 
beings WITHOUT hurting and humiliating the other more.
And each goes his own way ...

Once again, 
any of us is free to feel more sympathy and respect for one of the protogonists, but without stepping on one of 
the others.
I am surprised (in a negative sense) by the EXCITEMENT and PREJUDICE (by some) for more humiliation and 
more trampling on Krish.
