Ruby's heart rate slowed down after a while. She slowly dozed off into deep sleep. Amit moved in his sleep and that woke Ruby up.
It was still dark. She tried going back to sleep but could not. All the thoughts on her mind were keeping her up. She slowly without making any noise got off the bed and picked her mobile and walked into the living room. She checked the time and it was 4:50AM. Ruby was expecting a message from Sid but there were none.
"May be he did not want to send you any texts as he knows Amit is around." The sane one reasoned.
Satisfied with that analysis, Ruby started her chores early. She wanted to cook something special for Amit. The she remembered what Amit told her - the good and bad news. She wasn't paying much attention when he was talking but she could remember the details now.
The bad news was, he would have to go back to Bangalore for the rest of the week or may be two weeks, she could not recollect. The good news is that he gets to spend time with his wife over the weekend.
Ruby made herself a cup of coffee and leisurely started sipping it. The animal said, "Isn't it the other way around baby? The good news is that your husband gets to leave you for a week or two but the bad news is he gets to stay over the weekend?" This made Ruby chuckle and put her in a very good mood.
She then started remembering what all the men were commenting yesterday while she was walking in that narrow lane.
"It is like you were doing cat walk on the ramp and those men were the photographers trying to capture all your sexy poses." The animal added. Ruby started to blush. "Don't listen to her Ruby. You know it is dangerous to be in that area alone at night", the sane one warned.
At around 7AM, Ruby heard noise coming from the bath room. She figured Amit had woken up. She immediately started preparing hot breakfast for him.
By the time he came back to the living room, his favorite breakfast was ready and was served.
"I don't know how I got a great gal like you Baby." and planted a kiss on her cheek. He started downing his breakfast and was lost in reading the news paper.
Ruby excused herself to use the bathroom. She took a shower and come back. Amit was still reading the news paper.
Ruby took the plates into the kitchen and started cleaning. She heard Amit talking on the phone. When she came back, Amit was already done with his conversation.
Ruby walked into the bedroom to get his towel and clothes when Amit yelled from the kitchen, "Arey Ruby, there was a message from Sid."
Her heart stopped. "I must have left the phone on the dining table. Did he read the entire conversation? I am so careless. How can I defend what was in the conversation?" She could not even breath.
"It was just one word - "Good!". There was nothing else." Amit said.
Ruby quickly ran into the living room and found that her phone was still on the table. Amit hadn't picked it up. He probably looked at it when it chimed and would have read what the notification said.
She relaxed and opened the message. It indeed just said - Good!
She got into damage control. "I had checked on his health to see how he was feeling. He probably was responding to that." she said forcing a smile on her face.
"Okay" Amit said walking into the bathroom.
Ruby used this opportunity to delete all the messages between her and Sid. She was about to put the phone down but the animal did not let her.
"Just "Good"? That is it? You had to go through all that last night and all he says is "Good"? Ask him what he meant by that?"
The sane one intervened, "oh just shut up you. We got lucky and were able to get out of that situation safely. What would you say if he asks how we managed to get the beers that late?"
By the time the sane one finished speaking, Ruby had already typed ""Good?" That is it?" and hit send to Sid.
"What is wrong with you Ruby? Why don't you ever listen to me?" The sane one complained.
Ruby was shocked to see a response from Sid right away. "Yes, Good. You did well. Not sure how you managed to get the beers that late. I figured Amit bhayya probably had stocked up the fridge with beers and you stole a couple. Make sure you put them back before he notices bhabhi, He..he."
The animal was furious. "How dare he says that? After everything we have been through. Tell him what happened and what you had to do to get them."
The sane one yelled, "No. Stop this madness. It is good that Sid thinks we just got them from Amit's stack. Let us leave it at that." Ruby listened to the sane one this time.
"BTW, how is Amit bhayya feeling now? How is his work load? Any more trips to Bangalore?" Sid's next text came.
"He is doing well. He said he will have to go back to Bangalore on Monday afternoon." Ruby responded.
"Okay, will talk to you later." Sid responded.
Amit came back after 20 minutes. He had a weird look on his face.
"Good news, bad news - pick one baby." he said.
Ruby said, "What happened how? okay good news this time."
"You will not cook today. We will go out for lunch, then shopping , then dinner and a movie." He said.
"That is good news" Ruby smiled.
"And the bad one?" She asked.
"I had to leave on Sunday afternoon instead of Monday. Sorry babe. Something came up." He said.
"How is that bad news? It is also god news." The animal said in Ruby's head. Ruby had to hide her chuckle and make a sad face.
Amt laughed and said, "Cheer up and get ready."
They both spent the entire day out and Ruby felt happy. They both felt very tired and went straight to bed as soon as they came back.
The next morning was particularly hard for them. Amit was sad that he had to leave that afternoon and so was Ruby, at least the sane one.
Ruby hugged her husband very tightly as he was walking out the door to leave for the train station. She walked with him till the gate and waved good bye. Once the taxi disappeared, Ruby while turning around looked at the road that leads to the "theater". She paused for a second but then walked straight back into the apartment building.
She wanted to check on Sid. But wasn't sure. She slowly went to his flat and waited outside for a bit listening to any kind of noises. Satisfied that he wasn't home, she opened the door with her spare key and went in. Sid wasn't home. She checked her messages and there were none from him.
"He is trying not to contact her as she had told him that Amit would be with her till Monday." she figured.
She locked the door and started walking back to her apartment. She stopped when the road that leads to the theater came to view again. "What are you thinking now?" the sane one questioned.

Ruby just ran back into her flat and crashed on her bed. She could vividly recollect everything that happened "that" night.
The smell, the action, the raw animalistic pleasures, everything.
"What are you thinking, babe?" this time it was the animal. "Amit left, Sid thinks Amit is here. So you have an entire night before anyone will come snooping around and check on you." she added.
"So, what do you want to do?" the more the animal asked the more Ruby was getting excited.
She did not answer but slowly walked into the shower. She came back and got dressed. She wore a chudidaar that does not show a lot of cleavage but just a hint, but would if she "wanted" to.
She put on some light make up and picked her purse and started walking towards the gate. She paused for a bit once she walked out the gate.
"What are you doing?" both the animal and the sane one were asking her.
