To give some imput; it is a fascinating story how Nilanjana gets deeper and deeper in trouble. We all know that due to her (starting) addiction to the drug - something that will only get worse, I suppose - the chances to get out of this trouble are very small. What would be for very exciting is that depite all her humilations, Nilanjana still keeps the hope that at the end life will be back at normal. E.g. after she is humiliated by Asma Khan (still waiting for it eagerly. ), Nilanjana still is confident that she will be able to save her marriage.
From this perspective Kumkum adds an interesting opportunity. For Nilanjana she will do anything to protect Kumkum. On the other hand Kumkum may put in a position to do things, because she thinks she may save her elder sister. At the end the situation may come that both sisters realize that they had done things that were completely useless because they couldn't save each other.
Make-up. I like women with slutty make up. Would love to read how Nilanjana (or Kumkum) must visit a beautician who gives her the most whorish make-up possible. Maybe even a new hair colour? (with the risk that painting black hair blonde, may give the hair actually a kind of orange shade). The whorish makeup would be a must if she is going to perform for some Arabic visitors to India. Time again for the nose ring?
Finally about her high heeled boots: as was written in the story Nilanjana feels now more comfortable to walk on high heels than yesterday. What is a fact is that when women continue to walk on high heels in the long term this will result in a permanent shortening of the Achilles tendon. In other words constant wearing of high heels encourages the tendon to assume this shortened position permanently. The result is that she will feel very uncomfortable with flat shoes, or - at the end - it will even be impossible to walk on flat shoes. (Believe it or not, but my own wife got a beginning of this trouble). So, it would be an interesting topic in the story that Nilanjana is forced to wear high heels for days (and slowly increasing the length, think about platforms), with the end result that she has to wear them.
