Nilanjana almost froze in her... well she was not wearing any pants.. but chills ran up her spine.. Chintu ducked under the bed to look for space to hide.


but lucky for Nilanjana, Kumkum just passed in a note on a paper from under the door.. Nilanjana waited for some time before she could hear Kumkum's footsteps retreat.. it was a big relief for her.. meanwhile Chintu extended his hand and got hold of the note..

the note mentioned that Kumkum was going to her friend's place and would be staying there with her.. it smelled the difference between the two sisters which had come in during the last day, but Kumkum avoided mentioning any such thing.. he gave the note to Nilanjana.. this had a clear implication that the shopping trip due for today for two sisters was cancelled.. Nilanjana did not know if she was pleased with it.. maybe Vicky would have created some problems in the trip or the trip would have been an excuse away from Vicky... she was not sure if she had to be happy.. relieved she sat down on the bed.. she had forgotten the foul taste in her mouth... her stomach was growling.. she felt a strange feeling of emptiness and hollowness in her stomach.. her head was heavy and she was feeling dizzy at times..


Vicky had forced her to turn her maid away when the door bell rang, citing Chintu as the reason.. , she had faced one of the most embarassing moments of her life when she had gone to turn back the maid in just a full size towel wrapped around her naked body and it turned out to be the newspaper boy with the monthly bill, just seperated with grill door with iron mesh between them.... she told him to come later as 'sahab' was not at home.. she later realized what the meaning could be inferred from this statement..

maid had come on two minutes late and Nilanjana turned her down too.. Shanta bai had looked at Nilanjana and her appearence in suspicion.. the maid knew that her husband was not at home... but she shrugged her shoulders and went away saying that she will not take the pay cut for the day as leave was from her side..

Nilanjana could just hope that the maid and newspaper person dont get togather and discuss her out..
