Vicky : but be careful with the younger one..

Chintu : but..

(Vicky had disconnected the phone)..

Chintu did not know what to do.. he could be landing up in paradise or unknown hell if he went back..


seconds seemed like hours as Nilanjana waited by her phone.. she had no option but to wait for the call.. she had no option but to let the little boy in.. he will have to sleep in her room.. her bed..no no.. she will not share her bed with him.. the silence and the wait was killing her.. she got up and tried to walk, but those damn balls inside her made her sit down again.. she wanted to take them out, but she could not without the permission from Vicky.. and Vicky was everywhere, everytime.. more than where she knew he was..


suddenly the door banged open and Chintu barged into the room like a bullet and closed the room door behind him.. he was panting like as if he had run a 100 mt dash..

Nilanjana : what is this?? i told you to call me..

Chintu : aunty, your sister just went downstairs to look for me.. i was hiding in the stairs above and watching.. the moment she was off, i came rushing in..

Nilanjana : ok.. but lower your voice.. i dont want to ..

Chintu went silent as he relaxed on the edge of the bed..

Nilanjana listened to the voice of the main door getting closed.. she waited for another 5 minutes, till she heard

Nilanjana (almost whispering) : let me go and lock the main door..

Nilanjana walked out.. she was in habit of keeping the main door of the flat locked after everybody had come in after the tiring day.. she had reached the main door when Kumkum walked out of her room to see the voice on the main door..

suddenly tension prevailed in the air as two sisters faced each other..

Nilanjana : was just locking the main door before sleep..

Kumkum : i thought you were guiding someone in..

it was a veiled remark on Chintu but Nilanjana took it silently..

Nilanjana : you still want to go out?

Kumkum : no.. but i will catch him..

saying she walked into her room.. Kumkum had lost the hope to catch Chintu and conceded that he must have been sleeping with any of his friends.. little did she know that he was there right under her own nose.. in her sister's bedroom..
