Day 4
“So you are back. How was the meeting?”
“It went well. I hope we will get the contract. Here, I have brought your favourite wine with me. Lets have a toast to this trip”
“Don’t count your chickens before they hatch Rahul. Keep the bottle there. We will drink once you get the contract” she said with trembling voice. She just hoped that the plan falls in place.
“As you say. I am going to the office for an hour. Will come back for dinner. Bye” said Rahul and left the house. Only Anjali knew that this might be the last time she is seeing him alive.
The phone call of the accident came after 3 hours. Apparently Rahul was driving with seriously high levels of alcohol in his blood and could not see the approaching truck. The head-first collision ensured that Rahul died on the spot. Rahul’s lawyers tried to prove that the accident was infact a murder planned by Anjali to take over the property. After 6 months of brutal court trial, Anjali was acquitted and all the property got transferred to her name.
“See I told you we will be proven innocent” said Ali. They were in Anjali’s bedroom and had just finished their love making session, their first after a gap of about 6 months.
“You are indeed very bright Ali. I think I should be more careful of your criminal mind” joked Anjali.
“This actually calls for a celebration. Lets drink to our bright future” said Ali and proceeded to pick up the wine bottle. “Isnt this the bottle which Rahul got for you from France? Today will be a celebration indeed” he said as he proceeded to fill two glasses with that wine.
Next day the servant discovered their dead bodies inside the bedroom. Both had apparently died due to cyanide poisoning. security officer tried hard to find a murderer but with the absence of motive, they couldn’t lay the blame on anyone. The only problem was the estate of Rahul and Anjali as there was no hire to it.
This problem got solved when a visibly pregnant Priya arrived at the scene after a few days of the murder. Tests confirmed that Priya was carrying Rahul’s baby. The blame of Anjali and Ali’s murder was now pinned on Priya. But she had an airtight alibi. After Rahul’s accident she had left the job and had moved to Australia from India. She had only come back when she got the news of anjali’s murder. After some investigation, she was also proved to be innocent. Within a few days she returned back to Australia, richer by a few hundred crores.
