Chapter 5: A Quick Exit
Barb shakily walked across the living room floor. Her mind was racing and her body was sore from all the bedroom gymnastics she and Sid had been performing that afternoon. It was much more vigorous than anything she was used to. She was slowly buttoning up her shirt when she was startled by a sound coming from the hallway. Someone was in the washroom and about to exit!
Oh God, she thought to herself. Some else is in the apartment! It must be Sid's roommate. She knew nothing about Sid's roommate but was certainly not interested in running into anyone. She quickly grabbed her Gucci bag, slipped on her high heels and headed for the exit. She was almost out the front door when she made the mistake of looking back. Mayank had reached the living room by now and their eyes locked from a distance.
"Hey...H...Hi" said Mayank hesitatingly.
Barb ignored him and closed the door behind her as she headed down the stairs, doing up the last 2 buttons on her shirt.
Mayank stood there in the living room with a couple of thoughts going through his mind. One- Wow, Sid is a lucky bastard. That babe was a stunner. Two- He couldnt help but feel that she looked vaguely familiar. Where had he seen her before? Office? No, that didnt seem right.
It was late on a Friday evening and his brain wasnt at its sharpest. He put aside the thoughts and went out to join his colleagues on the balcony
