Chapter 3: Happy Hour?
Sam pulled into the Parking lot of Park View Apartments, where Ajay lived. Having tried Barb's number again and getting no response, he typed up a quick message to inform his wife that he would be reaching home 30 minutes late. He hardly finished the message, when he was startled by a tap on his car window. It was Ajay and Mayank, who had parked their car and were indicating to him to follow them.
Ajay, Mayank and Sam made their way to Ajay's apartment.
"I hope your roommate wont mind the sudden intrusion" said Mayank.
"Oh, dont worry about him. He has no right to say anything. He's always bringing his Tinder babes back to the apartment and disturbing my peace" replied Ajay.
"He does seem like the playboy type. Whats his name again? Is it Siddharth? And why is he in IT anyway, shouldn't he be a model or something?" asked Mayank.
"Yes, he goes by the name Sid. I guess modelling field is difficult to break into, so he's passing time in IT instead" replied Ajay.
At some level, all 3 of them were envious of Sid with his rugged good looks and chiselled body which was quite a contrast to the 3 average looking desi IT guys heading up the stairs.
Ajay let them into the apartment using his key.
"Speaking of Sid's babes, looks like there's one here right now" sneered Ajay, pointing to an expensive Gucci bag on the living room table.
"Does every woman in America aspire to have that bag? I have seen 3-4 in our office today itself and my wife and sister are both expecting me to buy it, as if $550 grows on trees" complained Mayank.
"No Kidding. I got it for Barb last month as well. She was not happy to see so many others buying the same bag. Its a craze on Instagram" said Sam.
If there was any doubt about the presence of a woman in the apartment, it was confirmed by the sounds of moaning and physical activity coming from Sid's bedroom. Clearly the woman was enjoying whatever Mr Sid was doing to her and the thin walls of this apartment were not dampening much of the sound.
