Chapter 2: Friday Plans
"Sam, lets head out for a couple of drinks. Mayank and I need some alcohol after this week"
Sam looked up to see Ajay near his desk. Sam did not make friends easily and Ajay was one of the few people he considered a friend in Dallas rather than just a work colleague. They had bonded over similarly nerdy personalities and a shared love for football club Real Madrid. He was unmarried and therefore had way more time on his hands than Sam did.
"No, No. Not today" said Sam. "Its Friday evening and I cant tell Barb to spend the evening by herself while I get drunk"
"Umm....You want to get her along as well?" invited Ajay hesitatingly. He had met Barb only once when he ran into Sam and her at the local Costco. Frankly, he was intimidated by her as he had no clue how to make conversation with this stunning, voluptuous woman. He was internally relived when Sam turned down his suggestion.
"Ok, do this- Stop by my apartment on the way home for a quick drink. That wont take too long. I have a new McCallan 15 years Single Malt that you must try" insisted Ajay.
"Ok. Fine" said Sam. "Just one drink. Let me inform Barb that I will be slightly delayed"
Sam tried Barb's number but got no response, as he packed up and headed out the office door.
