Chapter 2 : An Eye For An Eye




Raghu was running like a wild wounded animal trying to save his life. He was knocking things down along the way that will make it difficult for the chasing man to catch him and due to his sheer panic, he fell down twice as well. Yet the fear of death made him get back to his feet and keep on running. On the other hand the guy who was chasing him was almost jogging confidently in his pursuit. He knew he would catch his prey and he was even smelling the blood already. Raghu's breath was now getting heavier and he knew that the guy chasing him was closing the distance between them as he now started picking up his pace. To his horror a dead end was fast approaching. He saw an old building nearby and went inside it. It was an abandoned building and the stairway to the second floor was broken. He quickly started searching for an exit but to his horror he realized that all the other exits were sealed off. At that point he heard someone shutting the open door from which he got inside the building. He turned around and saw the same guy who was chasing him staring at him with his eyes that had fire burning in them. Raghu was already tired by running so much and he was bleeding as well due to the beating that he suffered from the same man who was now slowly coming towards him. He panicked and started going backwards but his feet hit something on the floor and he fell down to the floor. His head hit the concrete hard and before he could recover, the man who was hunting him hit him hard on his head with an iron pipe. He fell down again and this time he stayed on the floor unconscious.

He was bought back to his senses when ice cold water splashed across his face. His head was hurting badly and it took him a while to figure out why everything was looking so strange. He was tied upside down from the ceiling and was completely naked. He wanted to scream for help but even his mouth was shut with duct tape.

Rahul:"Listen to me carefully asshole as I will not repeat myself again. I'm going to remove the tape now and you will answer every question if you want to live. The more you will lie, the more I will make you suffer. In the end you will tell me everything that I want to know anyway. One more thing, nobody lives around here. So no point in wasting your breath by screaming and making me angry. You didn't come here by mistake, I made you come here. Do you understand what I just said?" Raghu quickly noded his head.

Rahul:"Good." He said and roughly removed the tape from his mouth.

Rahul:"So Raghu what was the name of people that were with you that day?"

Raghu:"I don't know what you are talking about sir. Please let me go. I didn't do an....AHHHHHHHH" He couldn't even complete his sentence when Rahul kicked him hard on his face. His lips got cut and blood started coming out.

Rahul:"You and your kind never understand the easy way. Don't worry I have got just the thing to freshen up your memory." He had a bag lying on the floor right beside him and he took out a small sharp knife from inside it. Straight away he started hitting Raghu on his body with the knife and gave him several cuts. The place was buzzing with Raghu's screams but nobody was there to listen to them. After that Rahul took out a box and after opening it, started applying salt on Raghu's cuts.

Raghu:"AHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOO PLEASE STOPPPPPPPP I'll tell you everything but please STOPPPPPP." On hearing that Rahul splashed some water on his body to clean away the salt. It didn't stop the pain completely but it did help a little.

Rahul:"Start telling me the names otherwise this time I'll cut off your body parts."

Raghu:"Salim Hatkela and Manoj Patel. Please believe me I don't know anything about who was the man that hired us." Rahul knew about both the names that Raghu gave him. Both of them had criminal records.

Rahul:"Then how did you end up working for him?"

Raghu:"For money ofcourse. Salim hired both me and Manoj. Both of us were given 5 lakh each and the only condition was to follow every order that we will be given and don't ask any questions." After being an inspector for years and breaking so may criminals in interrogation, he could tell if the criminals were telling the truth or lying and Raghu was telling the truth.

Rahul:"Do you know the whereabouts of that man?"

Raghu:"No sir I have seen him for the first time the same day we broke into your house. Both me and Manoj were told to meet at Salim's house and when we reached there, he was already there before us. He told us about the plan. I was scared about breaking into a security officer inspector's house but needed the money badly."

Rahul:"So for money you didn't hesitate banging a defenseless woman and helping to kill her?" Raghu remained quite after hearing that.

Rahul:"Tell me why did you need that money that badly?"

Raghu:"My son was sick sir. I needed the money for his operation. Please forgive me sir. I was ordered to bang your wife. I already paid the money to the hospital and I had no other option."

Rahul:"There is always an option. I know where your family lives. I can bang your wife and kill her as well. I can kill your son if I want to avenge the death of my unborn son but I wont. That's the difference between you and me. I will take the option that you didn't." Raghu closed his eyes and tears started coming out of them.

Rahul:"Sooner or later all of us must pay for our sins. Mistakes are forgiven but one must pay for his sins. Remember this?" He said that and took out a butcher's knife from the bag. Raghu's face went as white as all his blood was drained from his body.

Rahul:"You guys didn't even let me or my wife beg for mercy or scream but I want you to. I want to hear you scream like a bitch. Every time you will scream it will be like music to my ears." He said that and hit the butcher's knife so hard on his right arm that the sharp knife went clear through it.

Raghu:"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH PLEASE STOP AHHHHHHHHH OHHH GOD PLEASE HELP ME. AHHHHHHHHHHHH" He screamed even louder than before as Rahul cut his other arm as well. Blood was coming out from both sides of his body now like it was coming out from a fountain. Raghu was crying and screaming for mercy but they were falling on deaf ears. If anything, his screams of agony were motivating Rahul. The screams only got louder as by striking twice he cut through Raghu's right leg. Now Raghu was hanging with only one leg and he was feeling the lights from his eyes getting dim. He tried pleading for mercy one last time.

Raghu:"Please don't kill me. I have a son and a wife who depend upon me." That only made Rahul even more angrier than before.

Rahul:"What about my wife? What about my son that wasn't even born? WHAT ABOUT THEM YOU SON OF A BITCHHH?" He was made with anger and hit the butcher's knife with full force on Raghu's face. Raghu's face was torn apart and he died instantly. After getting a hold on himself Rahul started cutting down rest of his his body. Rahul had already dug a hole big enough for Raghu's body. He threw Raghu's dead body inside the hole and started closing the hole. Once he buried him inside the grave, he spit with anger and disgust on his grave. After many weeks a smile of satisfaction was on his face and he thought to himself "1 down and 3 to go."...........
