Sulo is really inexperienced in terms of variety in sex (as far as experiences with different persons are concerned). Her only experience is with her husband. Though that sex was very satisfying her curiosity is piqued by what she sees going on all around her. The thought that maybe she is missing out on something has gotten implanted in her mind.
