Not a word was spoken in between us until the coffee was finished..

I took the coffee mug from her and kept that on the window edge…
(I thought of the filmi situations where the heroine clings to the hero when there is thunder, but in spite of so many thunders and lightning, it had no impact on the lady here.)
(She might be waiting for me to make a move..)
(What if I hugged her from behind… No.. No.. That would seem cheap…. I should start looking straight in her eyes…. But how?)
I looked at Rashmi.. There were small droplets of water over her face.. She sensed that something as wrong in the atmosphere.. She looked at me for a while..
Then said – “Are you ok?”
There was thunder.
I said feebly – “Rashmi.”
She turned to face me and asked in a concerned way – “What happened Param?”
I did not know how to react. Her soothing concern unexpectedly caused tears in my eyes. Maybe I was in love with her…(Maybe just for the moment here.) She must have seen my eyes get wet. But to conceal the fact, I simply dug my face on her shoulders…
A strong breeze of wind along with the rain gushed us….
Rashmi might have become worried about my behavior..She kept her hand on my head and asked – “What happened Param?., Are you ok?”
While I was resting my face on her shoulders, I got the smell of her body and automatically my face went to her inner shoulders and then lower neck. I inhaled the smell of her body which was made fresh by the rain…. I had closed my eyes and rubbed my lips on her neck and whispered – “Rashmi…… rashmi……”
She said – “Param .. Param.. What are you doing.”’Control yourself.”
She sensed my inhibitions and as I tried to take her in my arms, I felt myself being pushed……. And my mind shook suddenly as if struck by a thunder very closely. “Slaaaaaaaaap.”
It took me a moment to realize that Rashmi had slapped me..
She shouted on me – ‘What are you doing????? Have you gone out of your senses?”
