Meanwhile there in the room, Aditya was reading some magazine lying on the bed. He heard the door opening sound and near the door, he saw both Anand and Supriya standing over there. Aditya suddenly got up on the bed and asked them:
Aditya: What happened Uncle? Please come inside.
Anand (with stuttering voice): Nothing Aditya just came here to enquire about your health.
With that, both Aditya and Supriya entered the room and sat on the corners of bed.
Aditya: I am fine Uncle. I was just reading some article in this magazine.
Anand: That's nice.
Both Anand and Supriya were looking at each other with tension on how to raise that topic of medication with Aditya. After few minutes:
Anand (with his heart beating faster than usual): Aditya, as you know, you are here for some medication for the disease which are you facing from past couple of weeks. Can we...
Aditya interrupted Anand in the middle and said:
Aditya (with a sad look on his face): Yes Uncle, I know that. In fact I have started the medication from yesterday night itself.
Both Anand and Supriya were surprised listening to him and said:
Anand: Yesterday Night? What are you talking about?
Aditya: Yes Uncle, Dad asked me to take these tablets (pointing to the sheet of tablets lying on table) three times a day. So I started taking the tablets from yesterday night itself.
Then both Anand and Supriya realized that Aditya was not aware of the exact medication procedure.
Anand: That's good Aditya.
Now Anand started feeling uncomfortable again on how to explain the medication procedure to Aditya. After few minutes:
Anand (with stuttering voice): Aditya, hasn't your dad explained you about the other medication procedure?
Aditya (with a surprised look on his face): Other medication procedure? What’s that Uncle? Dad just asked me to stay in your home for few days so that there will be someone to take care of me and yes, regarding medication, he just asked to take these tablets regularly.
Anand: Ohhh, OK.
Anand decided to make him aware of the medication procedure where as Supriya was just listening to their conversations with a bit of tension in her mind.
Aditya: Tell me Uncle, what’s that medication procedure? Is there any other tablet which I need to take other than these tablets?
Anand: No tablets as such Aditya. It's, it's just some home treatment which was suggested by the Doctor.
Aditya (with a surprised look on his face): Home Treatment? What’s that Uncle?
Anand was feeling bit embarrassed to explain the medication procedure to Aditya. He looked at Supriya who was sitting silently on the corner of bed and turned again towards Aditya.
Anand (with a stuttering voice): OK, let me explain you this Aditya. This treatment will be given by my, Sup, Suppi, sorry Supriya.
Aditya interrupted Anand again and said:
Aditya (with a surprised look on his face): Supriya Aunty? What’s that Uncle?
Anand (with a shaky voice): Yessss, she will give the treatment. As prescribed by the doctor, she has to breastfeed you for the next three months. She has to give her milk to you, only then, your disease will be cured.
Saying this, Anand just put his head down in shame.
Aditya: What? What are you saying Uncle?
Supriya realized that her husband is feeling embarrassed, so she decided to get herself into this conversation:
Supriya (with a bit of hesitation): Yes Aditya, this is what doctor has suggested. We all have discussed about this and finally decided to continue with this treatment.
Aditya (with a sad look on his face): What's this Aunty? How can I do this? I just can't imagine doing this to you people. My dad also didn't give me a small hint about this treatment. How can my dad do this to me? I feel very bad about myself and my dad Aunty.
Anand: Don’t feel bad Aditya. Your dad has struggled a lot in the past two weeks. We both know how much he has struggled when you were in the hospital.
Supriya joined Anand by saying:
Supriya: Yes Aditya, don’t feel about you or your dad. He is struggling a lot to save you from this deadly disease. When doctor told your dad about this treatment, your dad was in a shock. He struggled a lot looking outside for a complete week to get this treatment for you. But his efforts went in vain.
Anand: So, looking at your dad's pain, we both decided to help you. You just don’t feel bad Aditya. There is nothing bad about this. We are just here to help you from the deadly disease.
With this Aditya felt very bad and tears started rolling down his eyes.
Aditya (with tears in his eyes): Uncle, I was not aware of the struggle my dad had in the past couple of weeks. But still, how can my dad ask you both to do this for me? I just can't do this Uncle. It’s just just disgusting.
Anand: Ohhh Come on Aditya, try to control yourself. Don’t cry, please don’t cry!!!
Supriya also tried to console him, but Aditya did not stop crying, he just put his head down and covered his face with his hands.
Supriya: Please don’t cry Aditya, Don’t cry. Please!!!
When Supriya saw him crying continuously, she just went near him and lifted his face up which was down and covered with his hands. Aditya's face was full of tears and his eyes have become completely red. When Supriya saw his crying face, she felt very bad about Aditya and immediately she flopped his head on her shoulders and started to comfort him by moving her manicured fingers on his back and his head. She started ruffling his hairs and said:
Supriya: Come on Aditya, Don’t cry. Please stop crying.
Meanwhile Anand also felt bad about Aditya and just sat there watching Supriya comforting Aditya by putting his head on her shoulders. After few minutes, Aditya stopped crying and said:
Aditya (still without wiping his tears on his cheeks and face): Sorry Aunty and Uncle. I cannot do this to you both. You both are such a lovely couple. I just cannot imagine myself to do this for you both.
Anand: Don’t feel bad about this Aditya. We both have discussed about it among ourselves and we both have decided to help you wholeheartedly.
Aditya (with bit of anger): No Uncle, I just cannot do this. How can you expect your wife to do this to me?
Listening to this, both Anand and Supriya put their heads down in embarrassment and even Aditya realized that he has said something wrong.
Aditya: Sorry Uncle, I was bit emotional. But, but...
With this, again Aditya started crying. Now, both Anand and Supriya understood Aditya's concern towards them and said:
Anand: It’s OK Aditya, Don’t cry again. You don’t take it in a wrong way. We both just want you to come out of this deadly disease. That’s why we have decided to help you.
Now Anand has started to console him and after few minutes:
Aditya: Ok Uncle. I won’t cry. But first, let me call my dad and ask him why he did not inform me about all this?
Saying that, Aditya took his mobile out and started searching for his number.
Anand: No Aditya, why do you want to call him? Come on, why do you want to trouble him again? He was struggling from past two weeks for you in the hospital. Now at least, let him take some rest.
Hearing this, Aditya put his mobile down and said:
Aditya: Uncle, Sorry very sorry from my side. See, how much trouble I am giving you both.
Anand: Don’t worry Aditya; no trouble to both of us. As we told you earlier, we both have mutually agreed to help you. It’s not because of someone's pressure we are doing this. We both just want to save you from this deadly disease and see you smile again.
Aditya: Thank you so much Uncle and Aunty. You both are soo sweet.
Supriya: Can we see a smile on Aditya's face now? Come on, come on, Smile please!!!
Aditya at last smiled after all the crying from past few minutes. Meanwhile Anand and Supriya looked at each other on how to start the medication.
After few minutes, Anand on a serious note started the conversation:
Anand: Aditya, since Doctor has told us to start the medication today, we have to start it today itself. We just cannot delay your treatment. If we delay it, it might land you in trouble. So, can we start the medication here only in your room?
Aditya (with a rather dull face): Yes Uncle.
Aditya was acting as if he does not want to trouble both Anand and Supriya and he is not interested in this treatment.
Anand: Why are you dull again Aditya? You should not be dull like this. Your mental strength plays a very important role during this treatment. So, don’t be dull always. Come on, cheer up, cheer up!!!
Aditya: Hmmmn Uncle!!!
Anand (with a shaky voice): Suppi, can we start today's treatment?
Supriya's heart has started beating at a rapid pace thinking of breastfeeding a person who is a complete stranger and she just nodded her head to the hubby's question. There in the room, Supriya was surprised by Anand's behavior and then decided to concentrate on the medication. First, she thought of breaking the ice between them since they have not interacted much after the few minutes of chatting, a week back in the hospital.
Supriya: How are you feeling now Aditya? Are you ok now?
Aditya (nodding his head): Yes Aunty.
Supriya: Good, don’t worry. You will be alright in next few months.
