I would like to give my opinion about why Namrata is submissive in nature.From the beginning of the story we see Namrata is very kind person and she has no idea about Birju or savla's intentions.thats the reason she behaved nicely with them which allows them to get close with her and takes advantage of those situations.

And physical encounters happened with namrata were suprising for her.She didn't expected advances of Birju in lift scene.On this situation we see the dilemma of namrata's mind,on one side she wanted to stop advances of Birju and on the other side she was enjoying his manly touches on her body.due to this was unexpected surprising encounter she didn't knew how to react to this situation and Birju successfully seduces her which lead to diwali encounter where Namrata wanted to enjoy those hands on her body once more and that is the reason she submitted herself to birju and same surprising encounter happened with Mishra's bike trip.on the opposite in present situation Namrata knows the nature and intention of the Mr.Das.So she will be careful and cautious while facing Mr Das.If she didn't knew about Mr das nature she would have behaved exactly same as she behaved with Birju or Mishra and followed mr.das instructions blindly.

And even we love to see Namrata becomes pet of mr.das or any other old age person but not with force but with love care and seduction.
