Chapter 115 - Chai's surprises do not end {Season 11, episode 4, time: present}

Is Samantha was surprised with Amalas’s visit? She didn’t show any signs.
Is Samantha suspicious with Chai or angry with Chai? She didn’t show any signs.

Samantha & Amala had a nice time DIL-MIL time for the rest of the day.
‘Kanna’ aka Chai took a day off from work.

This is the second time Amala visited their apartment. The first visit was with her husband Vivek and her father-in-law Rao Bahadur. So obviously she kept to herself and was not free to roam the home and explore. This time given she is by herself she is free and took a detailed tour of the home. Amala is terribly impressed with the spic and span manner in which Samantha maintained her home. And what’s more Samantha seems to be able to manage without a maid. Amala insisted she will do the cooking and told Samantha to rest while she is here. Samantha silently noted that without giving away any reaction that her mother-in-law for the third time telling her to take rest.

Born and raised in an ultra-conservative family, married to Vivek at quite a young age, and spending all her marital life under the dominance of her FIL Rao Bahadur and hubby Vivek: Amala had not seen much, heard much or read much. The only two things she knew: fulfilling her duties as a dutiful daughter-in-law of the Bahadur family & loving her Son. Now the third and most beautiful thing that happened in her life: her own daughter-in-law. Amala is very fond of Sam. Amala was very happy at the daughterly attitude of her DIL. Never having a daughter, Amala felt a certain warmth with her DIL, that was inexplicable. Samantha and Chai cherished the love Amala was showering on them. 

In the evening, Sam checked with Amala for clothes to wash which Amala gave.
As Sam is doing the laundry, she sees the really, really old-fashioned underwear of Amala and gives a giggle.
It was a unisex underwear with no softness and definitely not designed for touching the soft genital areas of a lovely woman.
Last time she visited the village, Sam impressed upon her MIL to change some things, but as expected, Amala resisted.

Now is the perfect time! Amala is alone with me. I will change her for the best.

Samantha decided.
She now has a clear plan.
She now has a clear plan for Amala.
She now has a clear plan for Chai.
She now has a clear plan for fulfilling her fourth Assignment.

At bedtime right before sleep, Sam goes to guest bedroom and chit chats with Amala. Before leaving…

Sam: Sasu Maa Ji (meaning MIL), I need something from you.
Amala: (smiling) anything dear. Tell me.
Sam: Do you trust me, Sasu Maa Ji?
Amala: Yes, dear. You are like a daughter to me.

Sam: For the next couple of days, I am going to take you outside.
We are going to do a lot of things together.
I need you to promise you will go along and do whatever I ask you.

Amala’s immediate concern was about Samantha’s health.
But she did not want to keep repeating that and make Sam suspicious.

Amala: OK dear. But lets not have a tiring trip.
And we have Karim Kaka to take us around.

Sam: (smiling) I will drive Sasu Maa Ji. We don’t need Karim Kaka.

So saying, she bid good night, smiled and left.

Rao Bahadur’s family was a micro-Saudi Arabia in some ways. Sam knew that quite well.
Women didn’t leave the home without men, which was why Rao Bahadur sent Karim Kaka along with Amala.
And women certainly did not drive cars.

Naturally, Amala is surprised and shocked to hear Sam say she will drive.
But she did not fuss about it.
She knew Rao Bahadur himself give lot of liberty to Sam, that he did not give even to his sons.
Rao Bahadur had said to Amala personally, “Samantha Ji is the future of this family, Bahu Ji.”
Those words kept ringing in her ears.
No one had ever impressed Rao Bahadur. No one, except Samantha.

Coming out of the guest bedroom, Samantha noticed Chai looking towards her direction in a concerned manner.
Sam couldn’t suppress a grin. She looked at Chai in a deliberately mischievous way and went straight to their bedroom.
Chai is in a half-half situation. While he is relieved that Samantha is not suspicious or angry at him for bringing Amala into the picture,
he is for some reason not comfortable with the way Sam was laughing and smiling all the time. It was as if she was planning some mischief.

Next day morning…

Amala started the day quite early with puja and rituals.
Samantha had so well laid everything that is needed for her in the puja room, not missing a single item.
She prepared prasad too for the offering to Gods.
Amala is so impressed again.
After puja, all of them have breakfast together which is when Sam announces:

Sam: Chaitanya Ji. I am taking Sasu Maa Ji outside. We wont be back until evening.
Chai: (surprised voice) Oh! Where, Sam?

Sam says it’s a surprise. Amala is excited. Chai is anxious.

Over at the office, it was Gautam’s first day rejoining Kekron Makron.

David stayed out of the whole thing, letting Chai handle Gautam’s comeback.
It was an awkward couple of hours for both Chai and Gautam, given the circumstances they last met.
They overcame it slowly and began to take care of some HR formalities and paperwork.

Chai introduced both Gafur (the current IT lead who joined after Gautam left)
and Gabe (the IT student intern) to Gautam. “He is a brilliant boy”, Chai said of Gabe.
And Gautam took an instant liking for Gabe.
“The same thing could not be said of Gafur”, Gautam thought. 
“He seems more filled with ego and less of substance.”

Chai and Gautam sat in Chai’s cabin and had long hours of talk about the company’s IT priorities,
future roadmap of Kekron Makron’s next generation robotic vacuum cleaners and the software
needed to support the newer capabilities. All technical talk. Both Chai and Gautam were quite good at this stuff.

Then lunch time.

Chai shared him Mom made food with Gautam.
And Gautam had brought some food too. Homemade.

Chai told that his Mom is here for a visit. Gautam asked how his parents are.
Then naturally he asked how Samantha is doing. “She is OK, Gautam”, Chai mumbled.

Then unknowing to himself, Chai asked how Kajal was. And bit his tongue.
Kajal’s status was the elephant in the room. Shoot! Wrong question, Chai thinks to himself, regretting.

Gautam calmly replied:

"Kajal is excellent, Chaitanya. She quit her job. She is staying at home, seldom going outside, except for shopping.
She is maintaining the home well, cooking for me, taking care of me and doing everything I tell her.
She is a good dutiful and obedient wife now."

There was a bit of pride in Gautam's voice as he said this.
Saying this Gautam calmly continued eating.

Totally speechless would be an apt way of describing Chai’s feeling. 

Whatever Gautam just said was 180 degrees contrasting to the cheating,
disregardful wife Kajal he described almost a year ago.

Kajal the slut and now Kajal the dutiful wife?????
When did this transformation happen?????
More importantly HOW did this transformation happen?????

Chai’s mind was bursting with these questions and sheer JEALOUS at Gautam’s turnaround.

Last time they met, he had a dutiful wife and Gautam had a slutty wife.

And Now! Total ROLE REVERSAL.

Now Gautam has an obedient wife and he is stuck with SLUTTY SAM.

Gautam had given him a fair warning not to bring up the past situations of his life.

Chai was dying to ask Gautam how the TRANSFORMATION happened. He knew he cannot.

Over at the apartment, the DIL and MIL duo are leaving for OUTING.

Karim Kaka is surprised the Bahus of the family are going out without Male surveillance.
Unknown to Amala, Sam had teased Karim Kaka a bit when talking to him and getting into the car.
Karim Kaka is torn between his loyalty for Rao Bahadur and lust for Samantha.

Samantha was dressed in a casual Churidar.

And Amala is in a traditional silk saree dbangd all around her, 3/4th hand blouse,
large Bindi, and her saree pallu covered any last bit of exposed area.



It was Amala's BABY's DAY OUT! 

All her life, outing meant temples or religious events or relatives home.

Today it was going to change!
