As she lay there, she slowly gathered herself to tell Vijay what she knew about his previous relationship with her son. As she lifted her head Vijay in a swift move turned to her and kissed her lips.
“Uffff, you never get satisfied or what?”
“Ah is that a compliment or a complaint?”
“Well take it as your wish to dear” maa was giggling as she completed the sentence.
“Well then I will take it as a compliment”
“You are very confident, I must say. And…”
“And what?”
“Nothing…”
“Huh what happened?”
“Arre, nothing really”
“Bolo na, what is it”
“Well your wife was a lucky woman”
“Do you want to share in that luck?”
“Ofcourse, I do”
As she finished her sentence, their lips moved closer for yet another kiss that was warmth slow and passionate. Eyes closed she let her tongue slowly explore his mouth as she lay over him. It was as if they were getting ready to start all over again. The ringing of an alarm she had set on her mobile distracted her. It reminded her that she had another world. Something which was her present but probably not her future. However, the present had to be attended to. She broke free from Vijay and picked up her clothes. As she walked into the courtyard and made her way to the bathroom on the other side, she sensed Sheetal in the kitchen seeing her walk literally nude. Normally she would have felt dirty and terrible but somehow she managed to continue walking at the same pace without feeling bad. Once in she showered and dressed up. She came back to Vijay’s bedroom and tied her hair. A mild sense of discomfort was growing within her at the presence of Sheetal in the house. What would she think of me- probably a bad woman, a whore what else will she think? That thought worried her.
As she walked out, Vijay who finished a quick shower dressed up and joined her. Both of them sat in the living room and Sheetal walked in with two cups of hot tea. She served her dad and then turned to Sandeep’s maa and offered the plate to her.
“Have some tea maa”
Hearing the world maa changed everything. It made her feel she belonged there. A small tear flowed down her cheek. Sheetal with one sentence calmed her down and gave her the confidence she required. As she finished her tea, she picked up the two cups and walked into the kitchen as if she belonged to that home. She washed the cups despite Sheetal saying no. Sandeep’s maa was slowly no longer his maa. And she felt her motherly instinct grow for Sheetal. She gave her a hug and left their home. It was all falling in place. Or so she thought.
