Chapter 93 - Maitreyi & Macushla {Season 10, episode 8, time: present}

Chai recognizes Maitreyi as the wife of a very powerful business man of the city who is also influential in politics.
Maitreyi gives instructions to the driver after which the driver takes the car and drives away.
 
Maitreyi started to walk towards the backside of the Hut and Chai kept moving to a place where she would not see her.
Maitreyi went up to Sangi who was standing there and gave him a smile. He had a white, silver Saree in his hand which
he handed over to her. She in turn gave all her jewelry, purse with phone and all else except
her mangalyam (sacred marital thread) to Sangi and proceed to the Lake.
 
Chai had a feeling that this lady Maitreyi knows this place in and out and is a frequenter to Bhikari Baba’s hermit hut.
BB is in a meditation pose with closed eyes. After some time, Chai sees Maitreyi come in the white saree and she had
all her clothes in her hand. She did not have a blouse on her… So Chai second guesses that she’s wearing nothing but
the white saree… Which means… Which means… even she, a woman… and from such a high family… also has to go
through the ritual of EKA VASTHRA – the rule of wearing a single clothing inside BB’s hut.

Maitreyi did the direction-Gods prayer, proceed to the Hut and stands in front of Bhikari Baba.
Chai hid himself near a window from where he could conveniently see and hear what was going on.
Maitreyi’s back was facing her.
 
BB was still in meditation and Maitreyi keep standing with folded hands.
After a full 5 minutes, BB opened his eyes and acknowledged her presence.
 
To his intrigue, Maitreyi proceeded to do the exact same ritual as Chai did just a while ago.
Prostrating before BB, she fell at the feet of Bhikari Baba saying, “Swamy, you are everything to me”

She kissed his feet, then licked both his feet for sometime licking them fully, and then got up kissed his hand.

Then she did something Chai was not expecting anybody to do, least of all,
this woman who is from one of the richest and powerful families of the city.
 
While still kneeling down, she went close to Bhikari Baba, and… moved her head down…
And… to Chai’s bewilderment… She kissed Bhikari Baba’s crotch… Once… Twice… Thrice…
 
Then she took the bronze vessel with the strange-tasting liquid and poured its contents directly into he mouth
without the slightest hint of reluctance or uneasiness.
 
After that, she settled at the feet of Bhikari Baba.

BB smiled widely at her and even looked at Chai for a split second before turning his gaze back to Maitreyi.
He looked at Maitreyi as if giving permission to her to speak.
 
Swamy! Praise be to you!
You have blessed our family with wealth and power and prosperity!
 
30 years back when my Mother-in-law brought me to your hermit hut,
and asked you to do a Puja to treat my infertility,
you did a powerful ritual and blessed me with a son.

Bhikari Baba continued to look at her without a change in facial expressions.

BB gives a loud laughter seeing which Maitreyi becomes silent.

Maitreyi immediately nods giving her agreement to BB’s authority.

For the satisfaction of your mother-in-law, your husband and you,
I shall conduct a ritual with your daughter-in-law after you bring her into the family.
 
In the next full moon, send her to my hermit hut.
I shall do Shuddhi Yagam (purification ritual) and make her pure!
It is a three-day ritual after which she will be an obedient and worthy daughter in law of your family!


 
You may leave now!

Maitreyi waited as if she was hoping for something else from BB,
but based on his order and his body language she understood she is not going to get anything else from BB today.

Again, she prostrated before him, kissed his feet and hands, took a good look at him with eye-to-eye contact, and takes leave. In some time, she changed back to the clothes she had come in, her car came back to the front of the Hut and she left.
 
Chai was watching all this in utter disbelief!
There was more shock coming up for him today…

Now what that "Shuddhi Yagam" is and what Chai's role will be in it, keep guessing!
