We have to remember that this is an alternate version as Jupiter dada has already said. This means that in this version there is no give and take or no consideration-that one has to give something to get something. In this version we find the plot is much more at ease, everything happening with a sense of belonging and maternal love of a mother for her son. Just splendid!
For example, in the original version, Sumitra was not keen to venture into the Digha sea but in this version, we did find Sumitra taking a chance in the water on the first day. We hope, the plot will be more elaborate the next morning when Sanjoy will request his mother with teary eyes to take a bath in the saline water of the Bay. The mother to keep her son happy will have no option but to concede his request as no one knows when they again will have such a wonderful time in future. So,the plot may take the mother and son to a secluded part of the beach,away from the crowded population of the Digha beach where there will be none except the big granite boulders, sand and rough sea. She would be wearing the same white saree with very little pink small scattered prints and a white blouse.Not wanting to soak her clothing, she goes behind a boulder and gets rid of her inner garments. Only clad in the Saree and blouse with nothing inside, to please her only son and with maternal love- just to cherish the moment of to-gerther-ness with her son,keeping the towel on the boulder, they go in the waters to enjoy. But once inside the water, the mother will be totally exposed to the eyes of the son. Her upper torso will be totally transparent & crystal clear to her son's eyes. Jupitar dada may have to describe the mother's state of mind and that of the son. It is out of my bound! But what about the lower torso. The juncture between her two legs will be so exposed that Sumitra will be confused how to hide her life giving boobs and the place from where she had given birth to Sanjoy with both her palms from the astonished eyes of her son- as if Sanjoy is seeing not his mother but a lady of his fantasy for the first time.

After the above episode at Sea, the next episode may happen in the hotel room at noon. Dada, we want the same happen not at the dark of the night but at day time. Sumitra will be loosing a bit of her guard to please her son at sea during bathing ( to quench his thirst of eyes) but during noon after lunch at room, there will be nothing like that. It will be a war where Sumtra will be confronted by Sanjoy for the ultimate pleasure of the flesh and though she will resist as a mother till the end but constant foreplay will make her surrender and she will ultimately give up knowing she is fertile and Sanjoy will devour her in different positions like can happen standing near the sofa with Sumitra looking straight at the dressing glass fit on the Almirah door (which she will be ashamed to look during fornication, but during the height of pleasure she will be moaning and biting her lips looking straight at the eyes of her son through the glass who is ramming her son's source of birth from behind), and then on bed etc.

But at the end, I think you are right, after sacrificing so much for her son, she can ASK her son to continue his studies. No one can have a second opinion to this. That's what every mother cherish for her child- a good future!
