Two days before the schedule we started our journey. The journey was tiresome. Being summer it was so humid and scarcity of water coupled with lack of girl and hot aunties in my compartment made it even more uninteresting. On reaching the village I had a nice bath in the pond with no one around except Swapna chachi who accompanied. After playing for some time in the waist-length water I looked up to see what Swapna is doing. She sat on a rock engrossed in the novel she brought along with her.
Enjoy the cool breeze and the twists and turns in the thriller story. She was looking so lovely with perfectly made eyebrows, beautiful black eyes, cute nose and rosy lips which she was occasionally wetting. I was mesmerized by the beauty in front. Slowly walking towards her, I plucked a wild flower and presented it to her. When she looked up towards me, I said, “you are gorgeous chachi” and kissed her on the cheek; completely surprising her with my actions. Flattered by it, she slapped my arm playfully and said, “chal hatt” blushing uncontrollably.
One day while having breakfast Seema chachi announced that she had to visit her parents’ house to give a send-off to Neerav’s (Seema’s brother) who was leaving to Berlin for looking after his father-in-laws business. Saying so, she was asking if anyone could accompany her. No one was ready everyone was giving some or the other reason for being not able to go along with her. In the evening when I came back after playing cricket, I saw her drawing water from well. But, something was wrong with her; she was looking sad. I asked Neha about it replying she said,” Everyone is busy with some or the other work. No one is ready to accompany her.”
On hearing that from Neha, I left to the backyard to see Seema chachi. She was slowly pouring water into a bucket and very slowly drawing water from the well. I tip toed to her hugging her from behind, I questioned her “why didn’t you ask me to accompany you? Don’t you want me to come to you parents’ house?” Letting the rope tied to the bucket which is used as help to draw water from the well go from her hand and turning around with the glow back on her face, and she held me tight with her hands on my shoulders and asked me “will you come with me?” Trying to look innocent I replied “only if you want me to come?” Embracing me tightly she cried.
I was trying to console her when Neha came running hearing her cry. As she came she asked me as to what had happened to Seema. Smiling brightly I said, “why don’t you ask Seema? She is the one who is crying. I just asked her if I could accompany her on her trip to her parents’ house.” One hearing those words from me Neha smiled so too Seema chachi. Once again, hugging me, she gave a peck on my forehead. At dinner, my decision to accompany Seema chachi on her trip brought smiles on everyone’s face. When Neha declared she too would come along with us.
It was no surprise at all as she would never let me go away from her for long, and three-day trip was too long for her. Seema chachi’s happiness doubled on hearing it. At night, Neha showered her appreciation on me for what I did.
