Two weeks later...
Mr.Jindal said,"Okay, enough. We do need to discuss what happened."
Roma said,"Why?", as she sat facing Mr.Jindal at his desk as he had called her to his room in the office.
Mr.Jinda said,"Because it's not good to not talk about it.You've been avoiding me ever since we came back from the Philippines."
Roma studied her fingernails and said,"What is there to talk about ? It was wrong?"
"Well," he said and pauses before he spoke again."define wrong."
It was wrong, and you know it ," said Roma, looking up.
He said," okay, may be it was a little wrong. But it felt right." Roma said," Really."
"Didn't it ?Didn't it feel just right ?"
Roma said," It doesn't matter .I work for you. I am your employee and you are my employer. We crossed a line."
Jindal said," But apart from that, aren't we friends...good friends of each other."
Roma said," Yes, but even friendship has its boundaries...friends should not cross that line with each other." At least we should think about the age difference between ourselves...shouldn't we ? Let it be a one-off. A one off blunder. And let's move on."
Jindal stood up restlessly and walked to the windw.Staring outside,he spoke again."I can't call it a blunder. How does one call the most special experience of one's life a blunder?"
Roma said," Call it what you want.Point is,it was not real.We can put it down to the setting, the drinks, the air...It won't happen again. It won't .
Mr.Jindal came back to his seat and sat across from Roma. Roma asked him if she could go back to her cabin and do her work. He told her that she could leave.
