That night after meal when I went to bedroom for sleep, mummy asked me to sleep with Grandama. I otherwise haven’t agreed her but at that time I didn’t want to hurt her so I went to sleep with Grandma. It would have been around 11 when I woke up for water. Grandma was in deep sleep. I went to kitchen for water and while returning I don’t know why but I felt like peeking into bedroom of my parents.
As I put eye on keyhole I was stunned! Dad and mummy were in each other’s arm and were kissing passionately. mummy’s pallu had been fallen and her curves were full visible over which dad’s hands were roaming sensually. I knew he would never disappoint me as we two were carrying bags full of goods he shopped for us. As we entered room he picked up a saree from bag and offered it to grandma and took her blessings. Grandma was happy to see him after so long time and wanted to talk but dad took bag in hand and moved to bedroom. Meanwhile, I uncovered the brand new video game he bought for me. I tried to plug it to TV but it wasn’t showing up any image on TV. So I went to call dad.
While still in door, I hear some sounds so I stood there figuring out what was happening in bedroom. I peeked inside to see that Dad was standing behind mummy who was in front on mirror and he was showing the saree he bought for her. They were having good time together I guess, as they were talking in low voice. I decided not to disturb them and went out to play with my friends.
It was about 7 p.m. when at last mummy came to bring me to home. Still I was not listening to her and kept following my fellow guys who were teasing me to catch them. She stood there some 10 minutes calling by my name. She was about to drag me when dad call her out. His loud voice made my heart beat and all my fellows ran to their houses. mummy too, felt like he is angry and her face turned pale.
As we reached house dad said to me – “Go.. Get your homework done; and Arpita, come to bedroom. I need to talk with you.”. Grandma was telling dad to take it easy.
“You are having wrong impression.. Ashok.” that much words in grandma’s fearful voice I could hear.
I immediately went to my room but all my attention was to what would be happening in bedroom. After some time I felt like I was hearing somebody cry and dad was angrily saying something. Hearing this, grandma ran to bedroom and I too stood several step away from bedroom.
Dad was cursing mummy, “You bitch… you cheated me. I don’t want to hear anything from you..”.
“But pls listen to me…”, mummy was pleading him.
“Just shut up.. You shameless whore, how can you show me your face with some other’s child in your stomach.. why didn’t you throw yourself in well.”, dad roared and started bagging.
“Mind your language Ashok. Ask me. I can explain you everything.”, grandma tried to stop him.
“You stay away from this Ma. It’s my personal matter.”, dad picked up the bag and walked to door.
“It’s not what you think…”, Grandma roared, “It’s child born due to Prasad.. Don’t ever doubt Bahu.. I was with her all the time..”
“That was my big mistake. To leave her with you Ma. ..”, dad said and started car,
“I am going for Australia… don’t try to contact me.. I wanted to live in peace for some good year.” I ran to bedroom. mummy was crying there lying on floor.
