Sam returned on Tuesday. When he went to see Meera on Thursday, Das was ready with his plan. When Meera showed up in his cabin to inform she's leaving early, he put on a disappointed face. He said he wasn't feeling really well and was hoping for a coffee with her. It's been a couple of days. She thought seriously about it looking at his face and then decided to stay.
"Okay I will tell him and come back."
When she was back, Das immediately left with her. For a coffee.
"You know, the times e spend together are invaluable. You breathed fresh air into my boring office life. It's my luck that you rejoined us."
"Actually it's my luck that you were there to help me rejoin you. I'm like, finding myself again."
She smiled.
"Who was that man, calling you out? Another lucky fellow?"
"That's Samay Madhav. You remember Ananya - my friend - right? That's her husband. He's my friend too, he helped me a lot with my new home."
"I'm sorry I spoilt his evening, but honestly I'm feeling a bit proud that I'm chosen over that friend. I'm proud that I've earned your company."
"You speaking like this is certainly flattering."
She gave him a gorgeous smile.
"But I'm also thankful to you for making me feel worthy."

Then she opened up with her story.
In that, her husband cheated on her and it ended up in their break up.
Das was astonished to know that a man in possession of such a beauty could seek for better options.
She said, "Well it's true."
"Come on, what does a man then expect from a woman."
"Maybe I'm not good enough."
"Maybe he's a blind."
She smiled and finished her coffee.
"Would you like if we get together this weekend?"
He was asking her out.
But she declined him gracefully.
"I'd love to, but not this time, Mr Das. I'm not finished with my new home. It's quite personal, but I promise that I won't say no when you ask next time."
"That's really cool for me, Meera. I'm just waiting for it."
Mr Das nodded his head.

Das shared with me these details on our Friday booze. If she had agreed, Mr Das wouldn't be sitting here with me, I thought. He would have been having fun with my wife.
