"No Tarun you don't understand... I don't think it's a good idea for me to stay at your place..."
Keerthi got out of the car and started walking back to her friends house...
Tarun was embarrassed but didn't want to make things worse. He started driving back to his apartment.
His phone rang.. he flicked a button on the steering wheel to take the call.
"Tarun?"
"Yes...!"
"Hi, this is Vani. Are you on your way?"
Tarun totally forgot he was supposed to meet Vani at her hotel room.
"Hey Vani, I am sorry but I had something else I need to take care of. So, I am running late. I'll see you in few minutes".
Vani stayed in a hotel in South San Francisco. Her company provides a place that has everything you need to cook your own food and everything. Like Extended Stay America."
"Vani, text me your hotel address I'll be there soon."
Without even Tarun realizing he felt a tingling feeling in his stomach. A married girl lonely in her hotel room calling him. She really needed something to take his mind off of Keerthi. He got the text from Vani with her address, he fired up Waze and floored his car towards Vani's hotel room.
Tarun reached the parking lot... he called her again.
"Vani what's your room number?"
"3020.. just come up" Vani said.
Tarun took the elevator and reached the 30th floor. He walked through the corridor and reached room number 3020.
Knock.. knock...
Tarun's heart was pumping fast for some reason.
The door opened and Tarun was confused to see a guy's face.
Tarun "Sorry I must have the wrong room number..."
"You are Tarun right? Vani is inside.. please come in" welcomed Rakesh with a smiling face.
Vani rushed to the door...
"Hi Tarun... this is my husband Rakesh.. Rakesh this is Tarun.. the man who saved my job!"
Tarun was like .. what the fuck is going on...
"Please come with me Tarun... I don't want to take too much of your weekend. I really feel bad you are spending so much of your time on this already"
Tarun quickly recovered... "oh no worries... nice to meet you Rakesh"
Rakesh "Thank you so much for helping my wife.. she takes work very seriously.. but I am glad she has good people at work willing to go above and beyond and help others. I really appreciate that".
The hotel room had a small kitchen and nice big living room and another lavish bedroom with wall to wall sliding glass doors.
Vani... "Tarun I just need help with one last bug that's very had to resolve and re-run the test script and complete it before Monday morning status call."
Tarun was thinking may be if he did some coding that will take his mind off of this already terrible day.
"Sure, where is your laptop"?
"It's in the bedroom... WiFi is not working and the hardwired cable internet is only working in the bedroom".
Vani walked to the bedroom and Tarun followed her. Tarun looked at Rakesh and Rakesh was already deep watching a game on TV.
Vani pulled a cable from the side table and out the laptop on the bed.
"I hope you don't mind Tarun" She showed the bed signaling him to sit...
