PART 40

____________________________________________

That Evening,

“Ah! Khushi, what brings you here? Is it the problem with the custody again?” questioned Sanjay, the legal advisor, sipping his tea with great relish.

“There’s no way you can get the custody of both the children, Khushi, given the rate at which divorce proceedings are taking place. Your right on the children is subjected to his divorce so if you happen to give birth before his divorce, the infants would be considered as the progeny of Arnav and Rati, in the eyes of law. Of course, one child, maybe since the contract is regarding only one child so you may be able to claim your right on one child but of course, I am sure, Arnav would find a way around it, if he has to.”

She reminisced the call with him when she was troubled by the clauses of the wretched contract and it was his words that led into planning intricately to avoid losing both her children, since she had no idea that Arnav would fall in love with her, ensuring that she remained the legal mother of both the children.

“No, Sanjay. It is in regards to Arnav’s company. I am sure, you have heard of the case?” began Khushi, as she laid her doubts to rest in Sanjay’s company and planned once again, but unlike last time, it was not to separate herself from Arnav but to unite with him, once and for all.

Three Days Later,

“I cannot believe this! Anita? She is the one who changed the composition and ruined my company?” exclaimed Arnav, raking his fingers through his scattered locks as he wondered how did someone from the lowest rank in the corporate hierarchy affect the company in such a drastic manner.

“Surely she cannot be doing this alone, Arnav. Did you see her bringing someone into the office anytime?” questioned Vivek, knowing that Anita lacked the skills to implement such an elaborate plan by herself.

“Her boyfriend! She had been asking him into the office since she started working overtime to earn extra money required for her mother’s treatment. She claimed the reason to be her mother’s insistence that it remained the same,” answered Arnav, the light of realization clearing the dark clouds of confusion from his mind.

“Of course! He happens to be a cyber-security advisor for an e-commerce giant! It would be child’s play for him to hack into the system and change the composition. But according to whose words?” wondered Khushi, who held the information brought by a private detective regarding Anita.

“Now, that’s for the security officer to investigate since we have enough proofs to prove the conspiracy,” said Anurag, sighing deeply, hoping that the judgement brings the much required peace to the couple.

About A Month Later,

“The Court finds Arnav Singh Raizada, on the accusation of criminal conspiracy and medical fraud, not guilty. However, the Court finds him guilty of costly negligence and hence the company remains closed with its funds being used as the compensation!”

“What are you going to do now, Arnav? The Court won’t allow you to start another pharmaceutical company and even without the interference, you would not get the license due to the charge of negligence upon you. What did you plan for the future?” questioned Khushi, placing her head upon his shoulder as she circled her arm around his, trying to lose herself in his warmth which melted the chilling cover of fear around her heart.

“Well, I have the ownership of Agarwal Manufacturers so maybe I will start looking into its administrative aspects,” answered Arnav with a sigh.

“Agarwal? Rati?” wondered Khushi, rising to look up from her laid down position.

“Her father’s company. He transferred it onto our name upon our marriage and she never cared about it, after all, she hated her dad for abandoning her mother. I just appointed someone trustworthy to look after the company while I merely signed on the necessary paperwork, for the sake of it. Maybe, I will start getting involved in it till I find some other means of livelihood. Having said that, I never liked that company myself. That company was the reason my parents set me up with Rati. What a lowly thing to do with one’s child!” he exclaimed, drawing circles on the back of her arm which was encircled around her, preventing her from leaving him in a grip which almost crushed her. His shaking voice, his trembling lips, his shivering grip and withering control on himself was a sign on inner turmoil that he chose to bottle up for years, hiding effectively from everyone - except the one with whom he had decided to share his very soul.

Khushi felt short of words with the string of revelations that took place. She was surprised to know that the company stayed on his name despite his divorce with Rati and he felt it was normal to use the company which he claimed to dislike. Behind the guise of businessman, she saw the emotionally wrecked child who was used by his own parents, snatching his conscience away with the demands they placed in front of him which blurred the lines between ethical and evil.

How could a child be blamed for the fate his parents had written for him, the fate he would not have chosen for himself if he had the right to will? What could anyone tell to someone whose will had been snatched, only to be replaced with everything which meant business?

That moment she understood the true reason behind Arnav’s struggle to reach the pinnacle, his inability to balance multiple responsibilities and the shrewd behavior. He wanted to be the ace businessman to show to his parents that they should have trusted him to reach the top instead of using immoral tactics, and show his wife that he could have been at the top even without the company she had brought with her. While his shrewd behavior was inherited from his parents, his inability to multi-task was a result of his childhood scars, deep in his mind.

The realization brought upon a wave of empathy from the bottom of her heart as she clutched her better half in a grip meant to assure him of her presence in his life, through every upheaval and every happiness, through light and dark, accepting every nuance, every flaw and every characteristic of his, allowing the truest hue of love to splay over them - oneness.

“Arnav, we will have to seek Rati’s permission to exert complete ownership on the company. She is the co-owner, I believe, and has every right to know about what you do with the company,” advised Khushi, knowing that only the meet between the past lovers would bring about the true closure of each others’ chapters in their lives.

She had seen every hue on the spectrum of love, and he was yet to experience the myriads of emotions which it brought upon but Khushi was keen to ensure he sees them all and gets colored in every single one of the Hues of Love, to erase the scars brought upon by the most unfortunate hue of all - authority.

Dedicated to all the accusations on me for being hard on Arnav! My word to them - Patience is a virtue, darling!

Also, the response has been so disappointing. Can the story, please, end on a high note, for being close to my heart?

PART 41

“I cannot marry you, Ashok. Why don’t you understand? The last time I agreed to the demands arising from your love, in a moment of unfortunately devastating weakness, I lost my Arnav physically. If I were to accept your proposal, I should give up his place in my heart too and I won’t accept it,” spat Rati, staging a walkout as she shut the door of her room with a thud after collapsing behind it.

Arnav and Khushi, who were escorted into the living room by her secretary, happened to witness the exchange between the woman who influenced him more than anyone else in life, directly or indirectly, and the man who sought her presence in his life as much as she had sought Arnav’s.

“What does she mean?” whispered Arnav, involuntarily, unknown to the fact that his whisper was loud enough for Ashok to hear him.

“Oh, whom do we have? Arnav Singh Raizada. What brings His Majesty here?” mocked Ashok, condescension and derision lining his tone in a way which made Arnav’s insides churn. But that feeling was nothing in relation to what he had experienced when he heard Rati uttering those words.

“Why is she not ready to marry you? She...uh..anniversary..you were there...” Arnav stuttered, unable to make coherent sentences as he felt his mind reeling with multiple thoughts.

“Oh well, Mr. Raizada, you still don’t realize, do you? She never wanted to be in that place. I made her weak by giving her the hope of sanity and showing that I was standing in the same boat of unrequited love as her. Whether it was friendship that forced her to erase my pain or her own pain which guided her, I do not know, but I know that she regretted that moment for every moment which followed, going as far as attempting to suicide by etching your name into her forearm, but how would you know? You didn’t even bother calling back despite several calls from our side and knowing that she was admitted in hospital. Neither then nor now, probably I will never understand her love for you but probably so do you,” spat Ashok, causing Arnav to stumble back as Khushi supported him, knowing well what he was enduring but it was for the same reason that she brought him in the first place.

“But the reports? The news?” wondered Arnav, raking his fingers through his immaculately set hair, messing it up in the course, much like his mind at the moment.

“Looks like the probability of not understanding, in your case, is inching towards one, Mr. Raizada. It was obviously false and you never bothered crosschecking the facts because you wanted them to be true. In fact, you circulated the news further,” lashed Ashok, furiously, thanking that Rati’s room was soundproof as she could not hear the conversation.

“Why didn’t she ever refute? She could have done anything to prove me wrong,” retorted Arnav, his features expressing his frustration.

“Because you never believed her. The producer took advantage of her drunk state and it amounted to date-bang, which was even proved in court. But, you, her own husband, did not believe her but the media which always twists and turns the words. The same media caught you speaking to your friend about her infidelity and published a report, she thought you had no trust on her. Added to that were your constant demands to have children when she had no idea what to do. Whether to disappoint you with the truth or take the risk, and in the end she chose to pull you to edge, hoping that you fulfill your wish. Bloody Hero Complex, she has, after all the roles she portrayed! She was truly caught in a limbo; unable to leave the only family left in the world and unable to tolerate the pain she was struck in. It was her consulting physician who advised her that it is better she attends parties to keep her mind away from sorrow rather than losing herself in alcohol and that is why she began going as date to her industry friends but it was strictly platonic because she truly never gave your place to anyone in her life - professional or personal, in mind, heart or soul,” revealed Ashok, tears stinging in his eyes as he reminisced the medical reports analyzed by the physician indicating her depression and damage caused by alcohol.

It took much more than expected for Arnav to contain the information he had received. Myriads of emotions, several hues of love began splaying themselves across the canvas of his mind, etching themselves deep into his conscience, which had finally awaken.

“I’ll convince her for the wedding,” announced Arnav, walking towards the door as he wondered if the door still opened for him, after all those months, and surprisingly his fingerprint was not erased from the database, causing the door to open for him.

“Are you sure that it’ll work, Khushi? I did exactly as you told me to do, and timing has been good enough,” whispered Ashok, leaning towards Khushi, carefully ensuring that Arnav could not hear their conversation.

“I really hope it does, Ashok. For the peace of everyone. For the happy ending we craved for.”

The Room,

“Rati..” called Arnav, making the woman in question to turn around with a surprised expression etched into her pale features.

“Arnav? What brings you here? Is everything alright? How are you? Khushi? And the kids?” she showered a string of questions upon him as Arnav shut his eyes in guilt at her concern.

“Everyone is fine. But are you? You don’t look fine,” he replied, eying the woman who smiled in his success, wept in his loss, stayed up several nights to help his cause and abandoned many favorites to ensure his happiness.

“What about me? I am fine,” she retorted, tears filling her eyes involuntarily as she felt the destiny mocking at her, giving her what she needed the most when she had already lost the right.

“I don’t think I can even apologize for everything you have went through. Three words cannot make up for the agony you have endured. How could I never think of it in another way!” Arnav reprimanded himself, his features scrunching up in frustration against his own self, tears falling out of his chocolate orbs and narrowed eyes.

“You have no need to apologize, Arnav. I could have brought myself out of the agony if I had truly wanted but I wanted to stay, in the hope of love. Something I wanted so badly that I was willing to pay any price for that, be it my love, my sanity or my soul, but I should have known that you cannot receive what is not to be yours. Also, you apologize to your victim, Arnav, but I am not just your victim but also your culprit, so don’t, please,” she said, wiping his tears affectionately, with a melancholic smile stretching itself on her chapped lips. The woman in whose warmth he  was masking was stark contrast of the beautiful young woman he had wedded; she was a broken soul who made no efforts to save herself from drowning into the deepest abyss of all - unrequited love.

“Fourteen years of togetherness, isn’t it, Rati? Half of our lives and we still could not make it work. Why did love have to fail in such vengeful manner?” demanded Arnav, reminiscing the times they have spent together, through thick and thin, through silliness and maturity, through anger and delight, through love and through hatred.

“You wanted submission, I wanted attention. You needed to have no burdens of expectations upon your shoulders and I needed a balm to soothe the tempestuous soul of mine, ravaged by the past. You craved accolades and I craved moments of togetherness. We were never meant to last, Arnav. Fourteen years, you say, wasn’t it after fourteen years that Ram found Sita in the form of his wife again and Ayodhya found its darling heir? Maybe ours was meant to go on the path carved by your favorite epic,” she explained, cupping his jaw with her shaking palms lovingly, wondering if it would be the last time she would hold him close to her. How she wished for several such good times to be bestowed upon her but she knew that her love had found his happiness in another woman, equally loving and worthy of him.

“You say, we are not meant for each other, but will you heed to my request?” he asked, clasping her trembling palms against his jaw with his own.

“Anything you ask of, Arnav. I will be glad to fulfill at least one of your requests,” she replied, smiling at him earnestly.

“Marry Ashok. You deserve a happily ever after, after everything you have been through. You deserve to have someone to call your own,” he requested, wondering if he had enough power over her senses to command them to fall for someone else - how ironic the situation truly was.

“I cannot give your place to anyone, Arnav. I have been accused of doing it several times over but I have no intention of doing so,” she declared, moving away from him but he was as firm and determined as she was when he held her at her wrist and stopped her.

“You don’t stop loving someone to start loving someone else, Rati. They can hold two different places in your heart. Wouldn’t you do it even if it means giving me salvation and peace, which I craved for?” he questioned, effectively putting her into an unique quandary in which the two warring sides belonged to love.

“For your peace, I will trade my soul, Arnav. I will marry him and give it a chance but don’t expect me to be happily married, because I really don’t know how it feels like, no offense intended of course,” she chuckled, as he placed a chaste kiss at her forehead, which she knew, would be their farewell.

Before people turn their guns towards me for ‘whitewashing’ characters, please search up the differences between that and character development. Also, I meant the story to be in this way because it happened with me in real life. I considered someone to be so vile and weak-willed but it was only later as the interactions increased that I realized she was not what everyone thinks to be, thanks to the rumors. It was then I decided to write a story in which perspective shifts as the lead characters acquire new knowledge about someone whose character was made up due to various assumptions and rumors. And my support for certain theories in comments? Analogous to the logic we give ourselves whenever we make a theory, no matter how wrong it is.

Also, references for the incidents mentioned are written in the story - The Abyss Called Love.
I always say only one thing. These are not inspirational characters, I have written enough of them in stories like Pride and Prejudice. These are just humans you may find anywhere. Like all of us, they are villains in some stories, heroes in some but human at the best. They are sinners, they were sinned against, like Rati says they are each others’ culprits and victims at the same time.

Next part would probably be the last. Both excited and sad for it.

Superbbbbb fb dear.....
You turned everything and everyone in the story...  Upside down .......
But i think differently... Family and love Life is not so loving...  As shown in yash chopra Movies . And not cruel as ekta kapoor soaps...
So everyone always repays for their doings...
But this whole story revolves around not only forgiving all mistakes even misdeeds of arnav but rewarding also...  He is a bastard always manipulate situations in his favor with chanting the fake love .....
Character of arnav reminds me the character  of kavita in unwanted houseguest

Lets see whats your ending and logic for that

PART 42

“At last, all seems to be well. Who would have thought that the conspiracy was a part of revenge against our union since my father had deceived him in the past and I happened to be the union leader? For that he recruited Anita and her boyfriend and similar employees of other companies. Strange are the ways of mind,” mused Arnav, lulling his daughter, Kuhu, to sleep as he gently swung her in the cradle of his arms.

Khushi, who was more close to Arsh, was trying to put him, in the cradle next to the one belonging to Kuhu, to sleep by caressing his head and chest with intermittent affectionate patting.

“I just hope that our children don’t have to pay for any of the sins we might have committed intentionally or unintentionally. They don’t deserve to be dragged into any murky business after enduring everything I caused to them,” whispered Khushi, tears stinging in her eyes as she reminisced the moment of separation from her daughter, which was due to a decision she felt forced to take.

Arnav sighed deeply before placing his sleeping princess into her cradle and making Khushi rise from her kneeling position by cupping her shoulders, after seeing that Arsh had fallen asleep and was breathing in relaxed pattern. He walked her through the door which led to their room, well aware of Khushi’s erratic breathing pattern which indicated her emotional turmoil. He was also aware, from years of their friendship, that she wanted to let her heart out.

“As you know, I am the only child of my parents. They wanted to instill every bit of values they have acquired from their parents and they did so by eventually complying to my wishes, though after a long struggle, showing it as their gift for my good behavior. That made me believe in idealistic and unrealistic behavior. Probably the fact that I had every wish of mine fulfilled along with your name and of course behavior made me fall in love with you in a way which was bordering obsession. I wouldn’t want Kuhu to do anything in the way I have done. I could have refused your proposition straight away, because I didn’t want to be left waiting after everything is over, but blame my love or my wish to not be the one to refuse, I placed that condition,” she explained, placing her head over his chest as he encircled his arm around her waist in a loving gesture.

“Do you regret it, Khoosi?” he asked, praying that the answer for his question is in negative.

“I don’t. But what is the guarantee that she won’t, if she takes this step? Not every man can be Arnav Singh Raizada and my Kuhu cannot be Khushi Gupta, I will make sure she isn’t,” she vowed, intertwining her fingers with Arnav’s free hand.

“You regret separating them, don’t you?” he questioned after a few minutes of pregnant silence as thousands of thoughts crossed their mind.

“I do. I was heartbroken that you lied to me, that I was a revenge plan and I had got to know that I would lose the custody of both the children since you wouldn’t be divorced by the time of delivery so I decided to leave so that I have the custody of at least one child. I hated that contract anyways, how could you ask me to never meet you or the child, Arnav?” she demanded, looking at him with hurt instead of anger floating in his eyes but it was not relief that Arnav felt when he saw lack of anger, instead he had hoped it was fury instead of raw pain in her eyes which seemed to immobilize him and tear him apart.

“Like I said, I was insecure, Khushi. I am sorry for everything. I know you have been hurt terribly by me but I promise that I will heal every wound of yours, make up for everything and hopefully erase every complaint of your parents,” promised Arnav, placing a feathery kiss at her partition and on her fingers intertwined with his, his touch bearing the evidence of adulation, ardor and amour etched into his very soul.

“My parents will come around. They would not want me to feel guilty for long that I caused them pain by my choice and they know that I would want them to take part in my happiness. They love me enough to love you as an extension of me,” she assured, smile playing on her lips at her husband’s ministrations.

Arnav’s heart warmed at the choice of her words - an extension of her - an indication of their oneness.

“Hopefully,” he muttered, a smile mirroring that of Khushi’s curving his lips into a beautiful curve.

“But, were you serious about making up for everything?” she asked, suddenly, looking straight into his eyes while swirls of emotions he had never witnessed in her eyes had begun to form.

“Of course....”

“How about we seal the deal with a kiss and indulge in some making up then? After all, I had seen Arnav Singh Raizada’s passion and now, I want to see his love,” stated Khushi, a sultry smile playing on her slightly twitching lips as she struggled to conceal her laughter.

“Your wish is my command, my lady. But is it what you seek? Of course, we can stop whenever you want,” offered Arnav, his eyes reflecting the same potent hue of love as his wife.

“We have stopped enough for a lifetime. Stopping anymore would mean stopping my very breath, Arnav. Let us lose ourselves in the only hue of love we have not explored,” she whispered, her erratic breathing, this time due to a passion of different kind much to his liking, sending tortuous waves across his body.

His euphoric and frenzy gaze devoured her form in entirety just as her heaving chest and staggering breaths made his heart race. The tension between them so thick that it could be cut with a knife.

Her slender and artsy fingers traced the muscles of his abdomen and traveled northwards, forcing him to yearn for more of her passionate touch. His smoldering gaze splayed a brilliant hue of red across her neck, disappearing under the ravels of her dress, causing him to imagine the feminine treasure underneath that silken cloth, colored in the shade of their flaring passion.

Her fingers traveled to his hot face and cupped his face as she pulled him into her warmth, forgetting every inhibition, every complaint, every sorrow, every obstacle and every thing which hindered them to let the most primal and fervent hue of love to splay over them and drag them into its depths. As their lips met each other, their body exploded in the sheer ecstasy and goosebumps blanketed over their body. Her lithe body molded into his lean form as her supple curves pressed against his masculine muscles, rousing the flame of carnal and scorching desire.

They drank from each other like two lovers thirsty of love from time forgotten who finally found the nectar of love. Their untamed ardor translated into unrelenting form of love as their hands tried to take in as much of their lover as they could, memorizing each dip and curve , each tantalizing sensation and every explosion in their cells at the contact of their other half, the one they have found after a trial by fire.

She pulled away from him in the dire need of quintessential oxygen and her dilated eyes, blazing with molten concupiscence and lasciviousness, she was an epitome of seduction in short.

She traveled southwards, unbuttoning his shirt with her teeth with an intent of tease. Her lips dug slightly into his chest making him growl in feral paraoxysm. Mildly grazing at him as she let her right hand to explore his nether regions, she freed him of his shirt and let her lips join his once again.

He had set his tempestuous mind to return his partner’s favors and pulled slightly at the threads holding her backless dress in place, completely unraveling it. His rough and dainty fingers drew intricate designs on her velvety skin as their tongues fought for dominance. Their hearts pounded against their rib-cage, almost in way that it seemed they would burst out but in a synchronization which screamed of their eternal love.

Two lovers standing on opposite banks had found themselves that night, united by love, separated by none, they vowed to be true to the truest of hues of love - oneness - as they united once again in mind, body and soul.

Epilogue

“I am damn sure that my son thinks that he is your son and not mine!” complained Rachna as she ran after Rahul, who did not want to leave behind his favorite aunt and hence ran back towards her.

“This baby is so cute! Why don’t we have one at home? I want to play with her for more time,” demanded Rahul, tugging at the hem of Khushi’s dress so that she could bend to his height and he could see his new friend - Amnati.

Rachna blushed to the roots with his demands combined with the suggestive looks thrown at her by her wicked husband who seemed to enjoy the situation while Arnav and Khushi giggled at the exchange.

“You can home whenever you want to play with her, Rahul. But only if you get your vaccinations on time, eat the food given by Mumma without complaining and if you promise to get treated for your colds without saying that the tablet is bitter,” propositioned Khushi, pulling his cheek affectionately as he stared at her daughter with great zeal and admiration.

“Anything,Mausi. But she is so cute!” he squealed, gently caressing her cheeks as she moved slightly scaring him.

“She is fine, don’t worry,” said Khushi, sensing his fear.

Anurag leaned towards Arnav as he whispered, “Looks like my son found my daughter-in-law already.”

Arnav turned to look at him incredulously before his fatherly protective instinct kicked in and he separated the child from the infant, much to Khushi’s surprise and Rahul’s annoyance.

“Rahul, now go home!” advised Arnav, looking every bit perturbed as he was, making Rahul scowl while Anurag doubled with concealed laughter.

“Yeah, anyways, you will be busy with the baby. We will visit soon,” said Rachna, cupping Khushi’s shoulder while signing with her eyes to take care of herself and follow every bit of her advice as a gynecologist.

“No need..”

“What?” questioned the ladies in unison.

“I mean, there is no need to trouble yourself. Visit when you are free,” covered up Arnav as Anurag smirked at him.

Rachna, Anurag and Rahul took their leave and as soon as their car zoomed away, Arnav turned towards his wife and voiced his displeasure, “I don’t like Rahul’s intentions for our daughter.”

Khushi burst into laughter as she understood the situation which had unfolded. She could not believe that her husband doubted the kid who had grew up in front of his eyes and had the best of upbringing.

“Seriously, Arnav? He is just a kid,” she replied, smiling ear to ear.

“What if he pursues in her in the future?” he questioned, lines of worry creasing his forehead.

“She will still have the right to refuse him and if he is the best for her, then so be it. Anyways, why are we even discussing this? He is not even seven and she is just a few months old. There is a lot of time to go,” she assured, sensing the trouble in his heart to be the one she had seen several times in her own father, who was currently ecstatic with the arrival of his second granddaughter.

“I just don’t want her or Kuhu or Arsh to be unlucky like we were, Khoosi. I don’t want them to endure pain of love like we did. Experience is the best teacher, I agree, but I don’t want their heart to be broken like ours,” he confessed, sighing deeply, stepping towards her as he looked into the windows to her heart.

“Who says we are unlucky? We were lucky enough to experience every hue of love, find ourselves together, have three beautiful children and with love growing stronger everyday. What we lost was just a price of what we found and what we found is something so exquisite that I would pay that price a hundred times over because every hue of love will create only one image in my heart and that is yours,” she whispered, memories playing in front of her eyes like a beautiful film.

Instead of replying to her words, verbally, Arnav claimed her lips into a soul-stirring and mind-numbing kiss, as they lost themselves into love once again with their sign of love carefully held by both of them.

Character Analysis:

Arnav: Burdened by expectations from an age where the kids have thousands of expectations and dreams by his own parents for their greed for themselves and for him, he had lost his track. He had grown to despise them for making him court a girl in his class against his will and for forcing it to pursue with increased passion than anything else making him unable to shoulder multiple responsibilities at once and lose his conscience. The same traits caused him to regret when Khushi grew upset over him over the manufacture of wrong drugs but not feeling anything about the drugs themselves. He grew attracted to the only one who had no expectations from him, the one whom he was supposed to trap - Rati - and it resulted in their marriage. The vows ignited a wish to depart from idea set by his parents and he separated them but instead of helping, it only caused bitterness in him towards his wife, whom he had begun to see as the reason for the separation subconsciously. His inability to juggle and prioritize costed him his first marriage which he had begun to blame his wife for, since a part of him thought that him being at fault would let his parents down. Love struck him when he experienced it through the mother of his children, who accepted his flaws and strengths. An ace businessman, ambitious leader, one with remarkable intellect, Arnav had it all to be at the top of his industry except that he trusted the wrong person.

Khushi: Single child, brought up with the thought process that ideal behavior results in wish fulfillment, she did not know where to draw the line between idealism and realism. Her unrequited love made her turn onto a self-destructive path as it took upon hues of obsession. The conflict of idealism and practicality led her into several situation she had not meant to. Top doctor, very friendly and hence with a lot of contacts with a streak of manipulation, developed from the time she tried to fulfill every one of her demands through her parents, she twisted the situation into what she deemed to be fit, with idealism losing the battle and boosted by her frustration for the same. The conflict with between her ideals which seemed to be ingrained into her deeply and her love ensures practicality at times while endangering her relationships with others during other times. She allows her love to be her weakness and was ready to lose everything she held dear for her love but her incessant need to be correct forced her to take decisions which proved to be game-changers.

Rati: Born as a result of an unwanted alliance, she grew up with the conflict of love and hate towards the institution of marriage. When she found her solace in Arnav’s words for her, she had swung towards love towards marriage and was well aware of his feelings being based on lack of expectations from her. Careful to not destroy the basis of her relationship, she chose to allow forces to destroy it from above by choosing not to voice her expectations after her mother’s death which left her shaken. In a bid to move away from her father, she submitted to casting couch so that she could support her mother faster, a decision she would regret when a producer takes advantage of her drunken state and her husband refuses to believe her. The lack of trust from him side and the knowledge that having kids would endanger them, pushed her to steps which would only burn their relationship up. She did not want Arnav to give up on his dream of being a father but the lack of appreciation for giving up the right of being a mother tormented her along with disbelief and miscommunication. With a mentality of a child, she strays from the path of fidelity in a hope of finding solace and trying to give solace to her best friend being acquainted with unrequited love but her straying results in an agony which she tries to revoke in several ways including suicide but decides to let go for the sake of love.

Even now, I will say all of them are sinners and all of them were sinned against. They are just human and they are wrong, never meant to be Ram or Sita.
