Mostly it would be Tharun's fault if their relationship falls apart.

RCF anna,
Please re read my comment or make your AI agent to read again?
I am puting the similarlity between Nikki and a regular commentor who always tries to persuade heygiwriter to change the plot vigorously, I never tried to question or sabotage the plot.
Hope you got clarified now!!
Thanks

I read it bro, that's why I was saying there is no deviation whether there is similarity between a commentator or not...
I was telling you the plot was original going according to plan and no vigorous changes in last min by keeping any reader and his comments on mind as you were thinking because the characters and the events from Tharun's past were kept hidden in the plot until the now(climax) for a reason.....
By the way I never use AI for comments..no need for stupid AI.

For my own peace of mind I feel like not wanting to continue to read further because this story's ending might have an impact on me.
This is one of the best stories on the platform, the right build up and insanely reflectable story of bad relationship dynamics despite love existing where past and society kinda doesn't let people be who they're and they end up hiding their real self and keep pushing away what they need despite it being in their very reach.
I'm amused how you crafted this so well.

Welcome back
Awesome the way story unfolds
The path things going for Nikitha seems like she may end up in an orphanage or in a lunatic asylum.

Chapter 142 - Mithra - Nikki one to one conversation
Nikitha pushed open the café door, the little brass bell jingling softly above her. The afternoon light filtered through the windows, casting a warm glow over the quiet space. Only a handful of patrons sat murmuring over their cups. She spotted Mithra immediately—seated by the window in a simple cream salwar kameez, her hair tied back loosely. She looked elegant, yet worn, like someone who had carried far too much for far too long.
Nikitha’s stomach twisted as she crossed the room. This was the first time she was seeing Mithra in person. Up close, the woman carried that unmistakable poise many doctors seemed to possess—calm, composed, yet shadowed by something deeper.
“Mithra?” she asked softly as she approached.
Mithra looked up. Her eyes widened for a brief second before softening with surprise. “You actually came. I wasn’t sure you would.” Her voice was gentle, threaded with quiet fatigue.
They sat down. Nikitha ordered a coffee she knew she wouldn’t finish and wrapped her hands around the warm cup like a lifeline. An awkward silence stretched between them, heavy with everything unsaid.
Mithra spoke first, her finger tracing the rim of her glass. “So… why did you want to meet me?”
Nikitha drew in a steadying breath. “I just wanted to hear what you have to tell me. But please understand—I won’t change my mind, and neither will Tharun. I’m only here to see if I can help you find some closure… or at least try to.”
She paused, then the questions that had been circling inside her spilled out.
“Why did you neglect him, Mithra? Tharun is sincere, sweet… he’s risked everything to fight for me. After years of loving you, you left him hanging. We’ve only known each other for less than a year, yet he can’t leave me for even a second. How could he possibly have walked away from you so easily? It only makes me think how deeply you must have hurt him.”
Nikitha’s voice grew quieter but no less intense. “Physical closeness is something any partner expects. But you kept him at a distance. He tried to be honest and loyal, yet you pushed him away. Whatever is happening now… it’s because of your actions. He even fears you. He’s pushing me toward marriage so quickly, and I don’t know how badly you must have wounded him.”
Mithra gave a small, almost rueful smile. “Yes, he fears me. I know that. But it’s not because I’m some villainous character in his story.” She met Nikitha’s gaze steadily. “It’s because he lacks the courage to face me. He still can’t look me in the eye. He loves me more than you think he does. I admit I didn’t reciprocate the love the way he wanted or needed. I had my reasons. The hurt, the anger, the disappointment… that’s what made him pull away from me. And then he chose you. He poured everything he believed about love onto you. But love isn’t something you choose. It’s something you fall into.”
Nikitha sat stunned. The words struck her like a mirror. It was exactly what she had done with Jay. She had loved Jay deeply, but the anger, pain, and disappointment had made her alienate herself from him. In the end, she had chosen Tharun—not fallen for him. It had been a convenient, safe decision.
The parallels were uncanny.
Intrigued and unsettled, Nikitha leaned forward. “What was the reason that pushed Tharun away from you?”
Mithra let out a soft, bitter laugh and looked out the window for a moment before turning back.
“I never thought I’d be sitting here explaining my life to the woman Tharun wants to marry. But… here we are.”
Nikitha nodded, her voice quiet. “After everything that’s happened, I needed to hear it from you.”
Mithra gave a small, sad smile and began.
“I don’t know if Tharun ever told you… My first love was a sweet, innocent puppy-love kind of thing. I was eighteen. He was a distant relative—a family friend named Arjun. He was always around during festivals, helping my mother in the kitchen, teasing me about my terrible handwriting. We were so young and shy about it all.”
Her voice softened. “On my birthday that year, we had a small party at our house. Cake, laughter, fairy lights… Everything felt perfect. Then a fire broke out in the hall—an electrical short circuit, they said later. Arjun pushed me out of the way and ran back for my mother.” Mithra’s voice cracked. She stared down at her hands. “Neither of them made it.”
Tears shimmered in her eyes. “I survived. But that night burned something inside me. I lost the two people who meant the world to me on the same day—the woman who brought me into this world and the boy who taught me what love felt like. We were so innocent back then… we used to think even kissing might make me pregnant, so we barely touched.” She let out a watery laugh. “But he was so deeply embedded in my heart. I still remember the warmth of his hand pushing me to safety… After that, any kind of touch, any closeness—it brought back the smoke, the flames, his screams. I just… shut down.”
Mithra took a shaky breath and continued.
“Then I met Tharun at tuition classes. I was completely lost in those days—still grieving, drowning in family debts after my mother’s death. My aunt was strict, pushing me to become a doctor so I could support my younger siblings. I had no hope left. But Tharun… his smile could light up the entire classroom. He was charming, always cracking silly jokes to make me laugh, quietly remembering that I liked filter coffee without sugar, helping me with difficult topics, checking whether I had eaten. Slowly, he gave me hope again. His kindness won me over completely.”
Tears slipped down Mithra’s cheeks. She looked like a complete mess—red-rimmed eyes, trembling lips—just the way Nikitha had once felt when her world with Jay had shattered.
“I fell deeply in love with him,” Mithra whispered. “But every time he tried to get closer—holding my hand, wanting to kiss me—I would freeze. The memories would rush back. I felt so guilty. I kept telling him, ‘Wait for me, Tharun. Just until I clear these loans and secure my siblings’ future. Once I’m free from this burden, I’ll give you everything.’ I prayed for that day every single night.”
She wiped her cheeks, but the tears kept falling.
“But I agree there is another reason too, it's my fault… every time he touches me, the memories of my first love come flooding back. It’s so hard to start a new life when your old self is still trapped in the past, still carrying someone else’s love in your heart.”
Nikitha felt a strange ache in her chest. The words hit too close. Jay had been ditched by his ex shortly before marrying her. She now understood, perhaps for the first time, how difficult it must have been for him to open his heart again while still carrying that pain.
Mithra continued, her voice barely above a whisper. “By the time I finally paid off the debts and started feeling stronger… he had already moved on.” She looked directly at Nikitha. “With you."
Mithra’s gaze drifted to the window for a moment, as if gathering strength from the soft afternoon light. When she looked back at Nikitha, her eyes were clear but heavy with years of unshed grief.
“Imagine placing yourself in my shoes, Nikitha. You love someone with all your heart, and they leave this world. Then life gives you a new hope—someone who sees you, who makes you want to try again. But you can’t fully meet their needs because the past still haunts you. I was grateful. I was hopeful that one day I would finally heal enough to start fresh with him… to dedicate my life to him completely.”
She swallowed hard. “But the debts kept piling up. If I got distracted, who would take care of them? I didn’t want Tharun to shoulder that burden for me. So I kept pushing him away, telling myself it was only temporary. I took every possible step to prove my worth to his family. His mother had figured out our relationship long ago—they didn’t approve at first. I waited for years. I didn’t want him to feel like he had to split his family apart just for me. And when I finally earned their approval… you were already standing in front of him.”
Mithra’s voice remained steady, though pain flickered across her face. “Unlike Tharun, I cannot move on from a second heartbreak. First Arjun, now him. Life won’t get simpler from here. I’m not going to stop you. I’m not going to beg. I wish you and Tharun good luck. But I’m very sure—he still loves me. When his anger fades, he will suffer. I only hope you can give him the love he truly deserves.”
She paused, then added softly, almost as an afterthought, “But to keep it simple… you destroyed my beautiful dreams, Nikitha. Unknowingly.”
Nikitha sat frozen, her heart hammering against her ribs. She was still determined to marry Tharun. Some things, she told herself, could not be undone. She had chosen this path—this fresh start. Yet hearing Mithra’s raw pain cracked something deep inside her.
Her mind kept drawing painful parallels.
Like Mithra, Jay had carried the wounds of an ex. It made it so hard for him to fully accept and appreciate the love Nikitha offered.
Like Mithra, Jay had been ditched twice—first by the woman he loved, then, in a way, by Nikitha herself when she walked away.
And the parallels with her own life felt even more haunting.
Both she and Mithra had lost their mothers young. Both had been raised under the strict, debt-laden shadows of an aunt or stepmother, forced to grow up too fast, carrying responsibilities far heavier than their years. Both had desperately searched for peace and love in a world that kept demanding more.
Most importantly, Nikitha now realized: just as Mithra still carried Tharun in her heart, she herself still carried Jay. The thought refused to leave her.
What does Tharun really need?
She had loved only Jay. The disappointment and anger had made her detach from him and choose Tharun instead. But the love hadn’t vanished—it had simply been buried under hurt. That was why seeing Sharmi and Jay together had triggered such fierce anger. Not jealousy alone, but a lingering care. She still wanted Jay to have a stable future.
If I’m still carrying Jay in my heart… then maybe Tharun is doing the same with her.
The realization hit like a blow. Nikitha’s eyes filled with tears. She tried to hold them back, but they spilled over anyway, tracing warm paths down her cheeks.
Mithra reached out instinctively, then pulled her hand back, respecting the invisible wall between them. “I’m sorry… I didn’t want to hurt you. I just wanted you to know the full truth. Tharun still loves me, Nikitha. Deep down, he does. He’s trying very hard to convince himself otherwise. That fear you see in him whenever my name comes up? That’s why.”
Nikitha wiped her face with trembling fingers, her voice breaking. “I… I still want to marry him. I believe I can love him one day. But this… this is so much harder than I thought. It would have been better if we had realized all of this before things went this far.”
Mithra looked at her with quiet, weary understanding. Two women sitting across from each other, both carrying broken pieces of the same shattered story.
“I don’t hate you,” Mithra said softly. “Some wounds never fully heal. They just get covered by new scars. I hope you both find peace… whatever that ends up looking like.”
Nikitha left the café feeling completely shaken.
Once inside her car, she didn’t start the engine right away. She turned and looked back at the café through the glass window. Mithra was still sitting there, a solitary figure framed by the warm lights. Guilt washed over Nikitha like a tide.
“Sorry…” she whispered, her voice cracking. “I’m so sorry… I’m sorry…”
She repeated the words countless times, tears streaming down her face, as if saying them enough might somehow undo the pain she had unknowingly caused. After several long minutes, she wiped her eyes, started the car, and drove away—leaving the café and the weight of their conversation behind her.
Nikitha left feeling completely shaken. The world outside felt unsteady beneath her feet. She was still determined to build a life with Tharun, but now everything felt heavier, more complicated—like she was walking into a future already haunted by the past.

Welcome back Hegi!!!
Beautiful and gripping narration !!!
Nikita is a strong woman. She may remain single if going back to Jay is not easy but she is not weak minded to end in an asylum.
Author has clearly kept Jay's side open. (Jay taking Niki's name during his love making with Sharmi and making him clear to Sharmi that she has life without him and it's only transactional between them)
However it's little muddy on Nikitha's side. With all the time lapses it's 7 months since Nikitha's visit to Jay's village.
Probably that is needed for the story but I can't wrap my head around that Nikita didn't getback to Mithra for 3 months at Tharun's insistence.
As usual waiting eagerly for the next updates.

Chapter 143 - Do you still love mithra ?
That night, the air in their bedroom was thick with desire. Tharun was in a passionate mood, and Nikitha gave herself to him completely. Their bodies moved together with urgency and heat. For a while, everything else faded—the café conversation, the guilt, the ghosts of the past. It was just the two of them, skin against skin, lost in each other.
But when Tharun, breathing hard and ready for a second round, leaned in again, Nikitha gently stopped him, placing a hand on his chest.
“What?” he asked, surprised, his voice husky.
“The second round… it doesn’t suit us right now,” she said softly. “Something always comes up.”
Tharun raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on his lips. “So what came up now, darling?”
Nikitha hesitated, biting her lip. “I’ll ask… but you have to be completely honest. And you can’t get mad.”
He searched her eyes for a moment, then nodded. “Sure. Go ahead.”
She took a deep breath. “Do you still remember Mithra? Her memories… you haven’t forgotten her, have you?”
Tharun looked at her steadily. “Did you forget Jay? Tell me honestly.”
“I don’t forget him,” Nikitha admitted quietly. “But I practise thinking about you more. I try to focus on us.”
Tharun gave a small, tired smile. “I’m doing the same. Anyone who has truly fallen in love can’t just hate the person or erase them overnight. But we can practise forgetting the pain. We can choose to love someone new and move on. That’s what I’m doing.”
Saying this, he lay back down beside her. His arousal had faded. Nikitha turned toward him, her bare breasts pressing against his chest as she looked into his eyes.
“So… you still love her?” she whispered.
Tharun met her gaze. “I love you more than anything.”
It was a brutally honest answer. Yet deep down, Nikitha realised the truth: he had not fully let Mithra go. Just like Mithra had said—Tharun still carried her in his heart.
The weight of that realisation settled heavily on her. Suddenly, Mithra’s words echoed in her mind again. The guilt hit harder than ever. She was the reason for two people’s broken hearts—for the second time. An unexpected, cruel coincidence.
Jay’s second love—her—had moved on to Tharun, leaving Jay devastated once more. And now, for Mithra, her second love—Tharun—was being taken away by the same woman. Nikitha had become the common thread of pain in both their lives.
She thought of how Mithra had said her life would never be the same after this second heartbreak. It explained why Jay had remained single, avoiding marriage or new relationships, and instead stayed entangled with Sharmi, who was already married. Perhaps he now feared love and commitment entirely. Mithra seemed to be walking the same lonely path.
The guilt disturbed Nikitha deeply, settling like a stone in her chest. What if someone like Mithra had appeared before me back then and shown me what I was doing? Would I have still left Jay so drastically? Would I have listened?
She realised, painfully and clearly, that she was still hurt. And beneath all the practised detachment… she still loved Jay. The feelings hadn’t disappeared; they had only been buried under layers of anger and disappointment.
And if she was still carrying that pain for Jay… what if Tharun was carrying the same quiet ache for Mithra?
Should I take the position Mithra was in and ask him directly? Can I handle the answer?
Nikitha lay still for a long moment, the silence stretching between them. The only sounds were their breathing and the faint ticking of the wall clock. Her heart pounded heavily. Finally, gathering every bit of courage she had, she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Tharun…”
She paused, swallowing hard.
“…if you still love Mithra… go to her. I won’t feel bad. I can handle it.”
Tharun sat up abruptly, the sheet slipping down his waist. He stared at her, confusion and shock written across his face.
“Why suddenly?” His voice was sharp with disbelief. “Did my parents say something? Or… did Mithra contact you?”
Nikitha sat up too, slowly pulling the sheet around her bare body like a shield. She hesitated, her fingers tightening on the fabric.
“Yes… I met Mithra.” She took a shaky breath. “She’s sweet, Tharun. I just wanted to make sure. I don’t want to be a homewrecker.” She winced at her own words. “I’m sorry for the choice of words, but if you love her… go. I’ll be okay. She’s been through so much. I mercilessly snatched her life… and yours. I can feel it now.”
For a second, Tharun simply stared at her. Then his anger flared instantly. He rose from the bed, pacing a few steps away, naked and restless.
“Why all of a sudden do you want me to leave?” His voice rose. “You still love Jay and want to go back to him, don’t you? Is that what this is really about?”
Nikitha’s eyes filled with tears. She blinked rapidly, trying to hold them back, but her voice cracked anyway.
“Is that all you think of me?” She paused, hurt flashing across her face. “If I wanted that… I would never have come here in the first place.”
The room fell quiet again. Tharun stood still for a long moment, his shoulders tense. Then he exhaled sharply, the anger draining from him as quickly as it had come. He ran a hand through his hair and walked back to the bed.
“I’m sorry…” he murmured. “I’m sorry, Nikitha.” He apologised a few more times, his tone softening. The commotion slowly settled as he climbed back onto the bed and pulled her gently into his arms.
He held her close, stroking her back. They shared a kiss—soft, lingering, and tinged with a deep, unspoken sadness. When they finally pulled apart, both of them had tears glistening in their eyes.
Only they knew the real reasons behind those tears.

"I thought something remarkable would happen as soon as Mithra arrived, and it happened just as I expected. Now I'm waiting to see what decision Nikitha is going to make. She definitely won't go with Jay. But will Jay really let Nikitha go so easily? That's the question on my mind."

It's all about that author now... whatever he has in mind let him. Write... But whatever Nikitha done with tharun is just a diversion she wanted to do.. but she thinks ? it will work out and end up in marriage with tharun...they can but the guilt will play more role in their hearts... If she wants to marry tharun ahe has to break his family as well...

Chapter 144 - The Discovery
The following week passed in a haze of mundane routine. Conversations felt scripted, smiles forced. Even their intimacy had become mechanical and hollow. Every time Tharun touched her, Nikitha could sense him holding back — hiding his hurt, swallowing his pain just to make her feel wanted. He was trying so hard to prove he had moved on, but the effort itself revealed the truth. He was performing love for her happiness, and that realisation slowly broke something inside Nikitha.
Her guilt refused to fade.
Driven by restlessness and a heavy conscience, she decided to visit Mithra again. This time, she told herself, she wouldn’t just listen — she would encourage Mithra to rebuild her life, to find the confidence to move forward and accept love from someone new. She owed her that much.
Mithra worked at a busy city hospital. When Nikitha reached the emergency wing and asked for her, telling she was a friend of her. the nurse looked her over and asked her to wait inside Dr. Mithra’s cabin since she was still attending to a critical case.
Nikitha stepped into the quiet, neatly organised room. Medical books lined the shelves. The desk was tidy, except for the open laptop. Its screen had gone into idle mode but was still displaying a beautiful wallpaper — a photo of Mithra and Tharun together.
Tharun looked younger in the picture, cleanly shaven, smiling with pure joy as he wrapped his arms around Mithra from behind. They looked genuinely happy.
Nikitha’s heart clenched. She glanced at the door, then back at the laptop. Curiosity and guilt pushed her forward. She quickly adjusted the settings and found the source folder of the wallpaper. What she saw made her breath catch.
Hundreds of photos.
Countless memories.
Tharun and Mithra laughing at a café.
Them studying together late at night.
Mithra wearing a gift Tharun had clearly bought her.
Screenshots of old messages.
Even scanned copies of handwritten notes.
Mithra had been quietly treasuring every single moment.
Nikitha felt sick. I have become the villain in someone else’s love story.
But one question kept nagging at her: Why didn’t Mithra fight for him? Why didn’t she fight more ferociously? Something felt missing.
Glancing nervously at the door, Nikitha locked it from inside. She had only ten minutes, maybe less. She searched quickly — drawers, shelves, medical files — but found nothing unusual except medicines and books. Then her eyes fell on a small, worn diary tucked inside Mithra’s laptop bag.
Her hands trembled as she opened it, but as she flipped further, the entries grew raw and deeply personal that is when she realised its a personal diary of her noting important events..
“Day 127 after Tharun left.
I still can’t delete his number. I deleted it ten times and saved it again. I know I should let go, but my heart refuses to listen. Every time I treat a patient who looks like him, my hands shake.”
One of the final entries, written only a few days ago, shattered Nikitha completely:
“I saw them together near the café last week. Tharun looked at her the way he once looked at me. It hurt more than I expected. But I won’t fight. I’ve already lost twice. If I fight and win, I’ll always wonder if he chose me out of guilt. Love shouldn’t be a battle. If he is happy with her, then I will learn to live with this emptiness. Maybe this is my punishment for not being able to love him fully when he needed me.”
Nikitha’s fingers trembled as they hovered over the last few pages of the diary. She had intended to close it and leave, but a strange impulse made her flip back to the earlier entries. She told herself she only wanted to see some sweet memories — something light to balance the pain she had already witnessed.
Instead, what she found shattered her completely.
Page after page revealed not just love, but a level of selfless devotion Nikitha had never imagined. Over the years, Mithra had protected Tharun in ways no one — not even Tharun — fully knew. The depth of her sacrifices slowly overwhelmed Nikitha as she read.
Almost an hour passed. She remained locked in the cabin, lost in the diary, tears falling silently onto her lap.
The first incident hit her hardest.
Mithra had written in a shaky handwriting:
“That night still haunts me more than the fire. We were coming back from tuition on the scooter. It was late. A drunk driver hit us. Tharun was thrown off badly — head injury, bleeding everywhere. For a moment, I was back in that burning hall… the smoke, Arjun’s screams. But I couldn’t lose him too. I dragged him to the side of the road even though my arm was fractured. I used my dupatta to stop the bleeding and kept talking to him so he wouldn’t lose consciousness. When the ambulance came, I refused to let them treat me first. I told the doctors, ‘Save him. Please save him first.’ I was terrified the fire was repeating… but I couldn’t lose him too.”
Nikitha’s breath caught. Mithra had risked her life and faced her deepest trauma again — all for Tharun. Later entries revealed that she had downplayed her own injuries to everyone, including Tharun. He only learned much later that Mithra had saved his life that night. She had hidden the full extent of her trauma so he wouldn’t feel guilty.
The second incident broke Nikitha’s heart in a different way.
“Tharun’s mother was strongly against us. She threatened to stop funding his higher studies if we continued. I secretly met Aunty alone. I took all the blame. I told her I was not good enough for him and promised to stay away so he could complete his education peacefully. I lied with a smile while my heart was breaking. That is why I detached myself for so long. But I couldn’t stay completely away… I maintained secret contact with him so he wouldn’t be hurt. I hide these details so he and his mom won’t fight. I don’t have a mother anymore. At least he does. I don’t want to break that bond.”
Nikitha realised with a painful clarity: Tharun still didn’t know the full truth. He thought Mithra had simply grown distant. In reality, she had sacrificed their relationship multiple times to protect his future and his family ties.
The third incident, though it started with a lie, showed the depth of Mithra’s commitment.
Tharun had been hospitalised with typhoid. His mother, still hesitant about their relationship, lied to Mithra and said it was a sudden serious kidney infection. She told Mithra the family was struggling financially and indirectly asked her to leave Tharun alone.
Mithra’s response was written with quiet determination:
“Aunty said his kidneys were failing and they couldn’t afford treatment. I was already donating blood regularly. I offered to donate one of my kidneys if needed. I even got myself tested secretly as a potential donor without telling Tharun. When Aunty realised what I was willing to do, her attitude softened. She started seeing me differently after that. I don’t know if Tharun will ever know how close I came to giving him a part of my body.”
There were many more small incidents scattered throughout the diary — Mithra skipping meals to save money for saving for debt, running to hospital when he was in typhoid, sleeping on Chairs. A lot.
Nikitha closed the diary, her face wet with tears. The weight of what she had discovered pressed heavily on her chest.
She whispered to herself, voice breaking, “You don’t deserve Tharun… He may choose you. You may choose him. But it means nothing before this. Nothing.”
For the first time, she truly believed Tharun had made the wrong decision by walking away from Mithra. This was not ordinary love. This was the kind of love that sacrificed everything without asking for anything in return.
Nikitha’s own feelings for Jay, her guilt, and now this undeniable truth collided inside her. She no longer wanted to share Tharun.
She wanted to sacrifice her place so Mithra could have him back.
Quietly, she wiped her tears, placed the diary exactly where she had found it, and slipped out of the cabin before Mithra could return from the emergency ward. Her heart was heavy, but her resolve had never been clearer.
It was time to let go.

Chapter 145 - The first crack
That night, Tharun was deep inside Nikitha, moving with familiar passion. Their bodies were joined, skin slick with sweat, but Nikitha felt nothing but emptiness. Every thrust reminded her of what she had read in the diary. The pleasure that once came so easily now felt like a betrayal. The guilt, the weight of stealing another woman’s man, pressed down on her chest until she could barely breathe.
Tharun leaned down and invaded her mouth with a deep kiss. She could feel him pulsing inside her, her own wetness mixed with his, as he prepared for a second round. But when he lifted his face, he froze.
Nikitha was crying.
Tears slipped silently down her temples and into her hair.
“What happened?” Tharun asked, concern replacing desire. He pulled back slightly, still inside her. “Nikitha… talk to me.”
She took a shaky breath, her voice barely a whisper. “We are doing wrong, Tharun. We should not be together. Mithra is the one who deserves you. She has done so much… you coming to me was wrong.”
Tharun’s expression hardened. He slowly withdrew and sat up. “Did you meet her again?”
Nikitha shook her head. “No… but I went to her cabin at the hospital. I read her diary.”
She tried to explain — the scooter accident where Mithra risked her life and faced her worst trauma again, the secret meeting with his mother, the willingness to donate a kidney, all the hidden sacrifices. But Tharun cut her off, his voice firm.
“Past is past, Nikitha. Yes, she would have done a lot. I would have done a lot too. Who in this world doesn’t do something great for love? But love that doesn’t come at the right time is not worth it, no matter how many sacrifices were made.”
He looked at her intently. “Let me ask you something. Doesn’t Jay sacrifice a lot for you? He didn’t even love you properly at the beginning, yet he did so much. Why aren’t you moved enough to go back to him? Why didn’t you say you want to return to him? Answer me.”
Nikitha was stunned into silence.
Tharun continued, softer now. “Because you have emotionally moved out of that phase. You know Jay is a good man. He sacrificed. He loved you. Yet you moved on. The reason is the same as mine. We deserved more, and we chose each other. Let’s try to honor this.”
But Nikitha was adamant. “I want you to rethink and choose Mithra.”
Tharun let out a frustrated laugh, running his hand through his hair. “What are you going to do after leaving me to Mithra? You think you’re sacrificing now?” His voice cracked with pain. “Why do my ladies always wear the angel dress to prove something… but keep hurting me?”
Nikitha had no answer. The guilt only deepened.
From that night onward, she became distant. She had decided to go this way, as she feels, if she keeps Tharun physically invovled. He may not look beyond her. She stopped being intimate with him completely, giving random excuses — headaches, tiredness, work stress. Every time Tharun tried to get close, she gently pushed him away. She was creating space, hoping time and distance would make him realise Mithra’s true worth.
But Tharun grew fearful. He believed Mithra had influenced Nikitha too deeply. In quiet desperation, he made a secret decision.
One morning, while Nikitha was in the shower, he replaced her contraceptive pills with ordinary vitamin tablets. He told himself it was for their future — if she conceived, she wouldn’t be able to leave so easily. At the same time, he began secretly arranging their wedding for next month, speaking to his parents and booking a venue without telling her.
Nikitha, unaware of his moves, had her own plan.
She no longer wanted to simply leave. She wanted Tharun to hate her. Only then, she believed, would he run back to Mithra without guilt. She started planning cold, hurtful actions — things that would push him away permanently. In her heart, she convinced herself he would feel hurt for some time, but eventually he would understand Mithra’s selfless love and return to where he truly belonged.
The storm between them was only beginning.

Heygi,
How do you think of these scenarios man!!! I read and reread these chapters and simply can't get enough of them.. the way you initially portrayed Mithra and how you have justifications for her behavior of being distant is simply extraordinary.. even though it's fiction it feels real.. that is because of how you tie the open questions.. in the middle when you have described Tharun's rough sex with Nikitha (just before her visit to Jay:s village), i thought Tarun has some hidden/secret desire (not in a good way) that we are yet to uncover.. But now it appears no one is a bad character and have little bit of gray that makes them appear complete dark during certain occasions...
Well scripted!!!!
