Adultery A Husband and Wife’s Playful Texts Turn Into a Complicated Affair
Chapter 134 – Quiet Farewells

The night finally settled over the village. The crowd had dispersed, the music had faded, and the courtyard lights were dimmed. Only the soft glow of a lantern remained in the courtyard as Jay and Nikitha walked back to the bedroom.

Once the door closed behind them, Jay turned to her, his voice low and gentle.
“So that day, after Sudhagaran uncle left… you spoke to my mom?”

Nikitha nodded, a small, tired smile touching her lips.
“Yes.”

“Whom did you think?” Jay asked, his tone almost playful but laced with genuine curiosity.

“I thought you could not even spend a minute without him and called Tharun.”

She smiled softly, shaking her head.
“No. It was your mother.”

The Days That Followed

The next two days were unexpectedly peaceful.

Nikitha was drenched in the care of Jay’s father and mother. They treated her like their own daughter, feeding her, asking about her health, and sharing old stories of Jay’s childhood. Jay’s mother would often pull her aside, holding her hand, and speak in hushed tones — asking about her well-being, gently reminding her that no matter what happened, she would always be their daughter-in-law in their hearts.

Jay, too, took care of her in his own quiet way. He made sure she had everything she needed, brought her water when she looked tired, and even helped her with small things around the house. But he kept a strict boundary — treating her as a dear friend, nothing more. There were no lingering touches, no intimate glances. Only respectful care.

In the quiet moments between the function events, they spoke about how happy they were to fix their family name and reputation.

Last night they had an honest conversation about everything, that's when  she said it out loud .

“I have missed such a fatherly and motherly bond,” she said, her eyes still on the passing fields. “I wish… if Sudhagaran didn’t interfere, I would have got it earlier.”
Jay looked at her, surprised by the vulnerability in her tone. He stayed quiet for a moment, then asked gently,
“But you didn’t complain so far?”

Nikitha turned to him, a small, bittersweet smile touching her lips.
“You took care of that,” she said softly. You gave me that fatherly and motherly feel whenever I needed it.

“Honestly… you took care of it without saying a word. I didn’t realise it for so long.”
She reached across the small space between them and held his hand. Her fingers were warm, familiar. For a brief moment, the years between them felt closer than they had in months.

“I could see the same care in Tharun’s eyes,” she continued, her voice steady but gentle. “I’m happy about that. Don’t feel like I’m missing out.”

Jay’s grip tightened slightly on her hand, but he didn’t pull away. His eyes held a quiet storm — pain, love, acceptance, all tangled together.

He didn’t speak for a long time. When he finally did, his voice was low, almost a whisper.

“I’m glad you found someone who cares for you, Nikki. Truly.”

But both feared what would happen to his parents if they came to know they had already broken up.

The conversations were bittersweet — filled with nostalgia, regret, and unspoken love.

The Farewell

On the final evening, as they prepared to leave, Jay’s parents stood at the doorstep, their eyes heavy with emotion.
Nikitha fell on their feet, tears streaming down her face.

“I don’t deserve Jay…” she whispered, almost bringing the truth out.
Jay caught her hand gently, stopping her from revealing everything. His grip was firm, but his eyes were filled with heavy pain.

His mother helped her up and hugged her tightly.

“You will always be our daughter,” she whispered. “No matter what.”
Jay’s father placed a blessing hand on her head.
“Take care, child.”

With a heavy heart, Nikitha moved with Jay toward the train station.

The journey back felt longer than ever — filled with silence, unspoken words, and the weight of everything they had left behind.

"The author has said once more, 'I am not someone who writes stories, unlike what you think" . I expected Jay and Nikhitha to get physically intimate in the village, but that didn't happen. . What going to be next ... After the incident at home, Jay has prepared himself to live without Nikhitha . Next, Nikhitha now has to face Tharun’s family and Mithara. Finger crossed

Chapter 135 – Return to Reality

Jay and Nikitha reached the station in the evening. The platform was crowded, but the space between them felt vast. The journey back had been quiet, filled with unspoken words and heavy hearts. It was hard for them to move on, yet they knew they had to.

As they stood near the exit, Jay reached his hand first.
“Take care,” he said softly. “Live your life for good.”

Their hands hung in the air for a long moment — a final, lingering touch. Then they split toward their separate paths.

Nikitha had been calling and informing Tharun of every detail — her moves, her thoughts, her feelings. She had become 100% transparent with him. Today, he was supposed to pick her up, but Nikitha had told him she needed to purchase something and would come straight to the apartment.

At 8 PM, when she arrived at the flat, she realised the door was locked from inside. She rang the bell, her heart light with anticipation. She wanted to hug Tharun, to show him her happiness — how she had finally wrapped up everything, how she had checked all the boxes that freed her of guilt.

But when the door opened, she saw a woman standing there.
Nikitha blinked, momentarily stunned.
The woman looked at her with sharp eyes.

“So you are Nikitha?”
“Yes, ma’am… you are…?”
“I’m Tharun’s mother.”

Before Nikitha could respond, a sharp slap landed across her face.

“How dare you?” the woman hissed. “You are married already and you are yet to get the divorce papers, but you are shamelessly living with my son?”

Tharun, who had heard the commotion, rushed out from inside.

“Maa, what are you doing?”

It was a stark contrast to what she had experienced in the village. There, she had been welcomed with warmth. Here, she was met with judgment. She didn’t blame Tharun’s mother — which mother would want her son to marry a woman who was still legally bound to another man?
A commotion erupted. Tharun tried to calm the situation.

“She is my wife,” he said firmly. “I have declared it. I cannot move from that position.”
But Tharun’s mother didn’t agree. She wanted Tharun to kick her out.
Tharun stood his ground.

“She came trusting me. I can’t let her out. If you don’t agree, you can leave to your husband’s house.”
Tharun’s mother, who could not tolerate the words, took her bag and moved toward the door.
Before leaving, she turned back with a final, cutting statement.

“Your marriage is fixed in three months. I don’t want to take her in as daughter-in-law. This is my final decision. Mithra is your love and she is your wife.”
She left the place, slamming the door behind her.

Tharun immediately pulled Nikitha into his arms and consoled her. She was shocked, her cheek still stinging from the slap. She didn’t blame Tharun’s mother, but the reality of society hit her hard once again. In the village, an old man didn’t like sharing maximum assets with daughters equally. Here, a mother didn’t want to understand her — a woman who was still in the process of divorce.

She didn’t blame anyone, but the weight of societal judgment pressed on her chest.
Tharun held her tighter, kissing the cheek that bore his mother’s handprint.

The night was heavy — completely opposite to her village days. But she knew she had returned to the life she had chosen. She had no regrets. She just had to fight for it.

2–3 Weeks Later

The scenarios quietly started to become normal.

Jay, Nikitha, and Tharun worked in the same company, but they maintained a strictly professional bond. No big confrontations. No public drama.
Tharun had paused pursuing his parents for marriage. Instead, Nikitha and Tharun started building a good rapport between them from the base.

In the middle of that, they explored each other physically like never before — passionate, frequent, and intense.

While everything was going well, two things happened out of expectation.
  1. Mithra entered Bangalore.
  2. The company had finalized the winners who would win the UK/US trip.

Unless there are unrevealed information in the existing chapters (like Nikita staying in touch with Jay's mother), Nikita is 100% committed to Tharun. She herself realised in the previous chapters that she didn't give Jay the same leeway she is giving to Tharun.

And her comment that she doesn't deserve Jay comes from a place of self pity on herself that she was emotionally blind to the gestures of Jay (like he showing that parental care when they were together or how he uses to pull her into a dance when he was happy during their time together) are her way of saying she was the reason majorly for the situation they are in.
