Let me put it in clear words. 

Nikitha loves Jay, and she is moving towards Tharun, She had decided there is no goingback as of now. 

Scenarios: When She is with Jay.
Given the case, she is lying herself to Jay that she loves Tharun, or she pretend act cold, whenever a conversation brings out some truth or realization, she needs Tharun for emotional support.

She never longed for Jay, when she is with Tharun, atleast in recent times,. First time when they had sex, she asked him to take distant to forget jay memories, but strangely it came, that was the only time.

Is finding out who the letter that important or the events that unravel during the process really determines where Nikitha's heart really lies ? Beautiful descriptive writing that doesn’t hold back. The use of sensory details made the setting feel vivid. Sorry for bringing this up again but Nikitha is kinda giving a full on Mirna vibes. Or is it i am still hungover the character. Thank you for an absolute surreal experience. You are a master weaver.

HeyGi gave you basic info with out revealing the future plot as he is bounded by that but i can give you my thoughts unfiltered.

Lets see her mindset before mirror incident: 

1. She knows she loves Jay
2. She knows Tharun loves her
3. She knows she moved on in her life as she decided she is not going to get the kind of love she wants from Jay
4. She knows Jay doesn't love her despite he claims to love her based on her experience.
5. She decided she will help Jay find some one and also grow distant to him acting cold so he outgrows her and move on in his life. hence her attitude towards him with out her genuine caring.
6. She committed to Tharun seeing his love for her and it is everything she had always wished from Jay.

Her decision and promise stands tall over everything else for her in her life..woman in general doesn't like when others make decision for them because in their heart and mind they need to choose for themselves and once they do they usually keep that on pedestal and never waiver from it. So in her heart at this moment she has only Tharun as her preference though she loved Jay, she pushed those memories, her love for him aside and locked it deep.

Her mindset after mirror incident:

1. She now knows Jay has loved her all along. She misunderstood him not because her attention and care was any less but because she didn't recognize that kind of love, only when she experienced it in her case did she realize.

So what's changed, nothing changed from her perspective but more guilt, guilt that she misunderstood Jay, guilt that she didn't give him proper chance, guilt that she lost whatever could have been their future was lost now...now she is on a different path where her future changed...and she decided it herself and Jay though she loved him, though he loved her, her choice came before everything else in her mind. as longs as that clarity is in her head, she will sleep with Tharun, give preference to Tharun, choose him still as her future, only things will change when some catalyst like thing happens where it jolts her that Tharun is not her future will make her evaluate everything again and until then her mindset is caring for Jay, locking her love for Jay, lie to him that she loves Tharun so he doesn't pursue her and help clear his name in his family and at office and part ways as friends though its not easy that way her guilt will be less but still be there enough for her to continue life with Tharun.

So what would be that catalyst that changes everything? My gut says its Mithra.

Imagine a person sitting in a bus stop and his world turned upside down...he loved one girl, fought against his family, put his reputation at risk, fought against maternal uncle, disappointed his daughter maybe in the process and left everything for love...and what happens, she cheats him and leaves himj stranded with his decisions... alone, sad, heart broken.

What would be the mindset then? wouldn't anyone hate women? hate love? hate being in love? would they be willing to even get close to women at all? 

Still he chose to save Nikita, He held her hand and saved her life from getting married to an old man...he stood with her,  gave shelter, protected her from harsh society where men just lust over alone women and still his feelings for woman didn't change, he couldn't be expressive but he saw all the things she was doing for him, over and over...that created soft spot for her, he began to love again with even him realizing it. He expressed it only way possible at that time for him which is sex. 

So all this time he loved her, in his own way though not to her expectations. we do not know what his equation with Anjali, how serious her threat was to expose Nikita and him, that conversation should come from Anjali...so his entire life he was with Nikita, protecting her, shielding her...

Earlier I thought he realized his love only that night when he saw Tharun and Nikita kissed so my intentions were that Nikita and Tharun should be together at the end because Tharun love should not be use and throw and they deserve each other but now that clarity is missing, Jay's love is greater...he lost love once and now he is about to lose love again one one end and on other end Tharun abandoned his love for Nikita, expressed breakup through text, Yes he loved Nikita but on other end I feel he did same thing that Nikita thought Jay did with her to Mithra..so now Nikita should choose ...true love....she needs to realize choosing Tharun at the end will only hurt him long run and everything she is doing in the name of gratitude earlier with Jay and now with Tharun is truly not love and in long run will not benefit anyone.

I still wonder why still jay bother about the family that hadn't bother about him for many years and considered him like dead. Liked the way Nikitha gave a chappel reply to that uncle and showed him the door.

I doubt that, marrying his maternal uncle daughter that too which he could say no was not equal to the goons who were chasing her and also caught her to get her married to 55 yr old guy...Jay if he said no that night would have ruined her life and made it miserable...yes they thought it could benefit both but the consequences were way way worse for her considering she didn't have much choice there while he has choice to say no to his maternal uncle. 

Also Jay fucking Anjali was never the way of showing his love, who said that? He only said he didn't had choice but to oblige to her desire to save both of them from losing jobs. 

Why the jobs were so important in the first place? Before his confrontation with his uncle he already had job and was well recognized in gaming company, he doesn't have to rush into anything like house or loan, only after Nikita without thinking through escalated it to a point that they had to boast about a house and prove him to be well settled, else his uncle would have just left that day. So the loan, house, secrecy to maintain those jobs to keep paying EMI all that was Nikita's rushed way of screwing things, her intention was genuine and defense of Jay but she messed it up.

Also do not conveniently ignore that a woman with a Bridal Saree and Jewellery could survive in this world with out any help even if she could escape that night, esp her safety in the night time and later without any other friends. Jay also trained her, made her capable of working in that company, recommended her to the job and him saying that he did all that not as a friend but thinking that she was his woman is nothing wrong. Yes Anjali episode is a black mark but we do not know full story, this story starts with them coming out from storage room so who knows what happened....Also I am not saying only he did everything, since then Nikita is the one who took control of him and his responsibility as a wife, she did way more than what he did for her but my point is she expected a lot from him in marriage but his mindset is destroyed when it came to love and it is confirmed by Author. If you detach emotions and read it , it would show as absurd to be able to love someone through sex but isn't that exactly what Nikita doing right now with Tharun so it is definitely valid.

Wonder what the significance of following:
1. Nikita insisting that Jay should go village. “Nice things will happen to him”
2. Sudden action on finding the culprit who wrote the letter.

It is not clear why Jay admitted to write the letter. Initially, when Nikita told him “some body saw her and Tarun kissing” he behaved as if he was surprised.
When Tarun confronted him initially, he says he did not know.
May be he wrote the letter because he has already seen Nikita and Tarun kissing earlier ( not in the office)

@heygiwriter, I have a genuine question about Jay's character arc.

Why should Jay remain sexless while Nikita and Tarun are allowed to move forward physically? Would Jay being with someone else automatically mean he hasn't changed or that his love for Nikita wasn't real?

To me, those aren't necessarily the same thing.

If Jay sleeps with someone immediately after everything falls apart, I'd agree that it could undermine his redemption arc and make it seem like he hasn't learned from his mistakes.

But if enough time has passed, the marriage is truly over, and Jay has genuinely grown as a person, then eventually finding love again or even becoming intimate with someone new doesn't erase what he felt for Nikita. In fact, it could show that he's finally become capable of building a healthy relationship instead of repeating his old mistakes.

Character growth isn't measured by whether someone remains celibate. It's measured by whether they've learned accountability, honesty, and emotional maturity.

I'm curious to see how you handle this, because I think Jay deserves an ending that reflects his growth, not just his punishment.
