Chapter 82: Tears that tells the truth
Nikitha sat on the edge of the luxurious hotel bed, her mind in complete chaos. She had tried so hard to convince herself that she was moving on. That leaving Jay was the right choice. That Tharun’s warmth and attention were what she needed. But the image she had witnessed just minutes ago kept flashing before her eyes — Sharmi pushing Jay into the room, her hand over his mouth, the door closing with a soft click. It looked intimate. It looked like they were already comfortable with each other. Like a couple who had been in a long, secret affair. The audacity of it hurt. Why didn’t Jay stop her? Why didn’t he stop me from going with Tharun? She had expected him to fight. To reach out. To show some sign that he still cared. But he had stayed silent. He hadn’t called her after she left. He hadn’t come to the hostel. And now he was letting Sharmi get so close. Tears welled up in her eyes. If this is what he wants… then let it be. Why should I suffer? But the truth crashed over her like a wave. Damn it… did I love him so much that it hurts this badly? The tears flowed freely now. She tried to hold them back, but they kept coming. Tharun, who had been unpacking quietly, noticed immediately. He walked over and sat beside her, concern etched on his face. “Nikki… what happened? Why are you crying?” She didn’t answer. She couldn’t. The sobs grew stronger. Tharun didn’t push. He simply pulled her gently into his arms, letting her rest her head on his chest. His embrace was warm, steady, and comforting — exactly what she needed in that moment. “Cry as much as you want,” he whispered softly, stroking her hair. “I’m here.” Almost twenty minutes passed in silence, broken only by her quiet sobs. Tharun held her patiently, not asking questions, just offering his presence. When the tears finally slowed, he gently lifted her chin. “What happened to you?” he asked softly. Nikitha’s voice was hoarse, broken. “Looks like… my husband is with another woman now. And he seems to have chosen her.” Tharun’s expression softened with understanding. “You mean… with that friend you mentioned earlier?” She nodded, fresh tears spilling. Tharun pulled her closer, hugging her tightly. “Then you should move on too… when he can move on.” She shook her head against his chest. “All these days I pretended I didn’t love him. It looks like I cheated myself by telling that lie. Every time he steps away, my heart hurts. I didn’t know how deeply I still loved him. But lately, when I finally realized it… he kept deviating from me. He kept disappointing me. Earlier, when I neglected him, he used to challenge me that he will prove i loved him.. But when i realise, he seemed to be choosen someone else now… I realized he has moved away from me.” Tharun held her in silence for a long moment, his hand gently rubbing her back. He was happy inside — the only real block in his path seemed to have removed itself. He didn’t know who her husband truly was, but he was grateful the man had chosen someone else. He spoke calmly, his voice full of quiet assurance. “Nikki… I know this will be hard for you. But this is the reality as well. My arms and my heart are always open for you. Get yourself together. I’m glad Sharmi chose to stay in a different room with Jay… otherwise you wouldn’t have come to me to vent it out. I didn’t know how long you had stocked inside your.. you needed me this much since the trip started. Now I realize why you wanted to stay with me from the flight onwards.” They stayed like that for another ten minutes — Tharun holding her, Nikitha slowly calming down in his embrace. Meanwhile – In the Other Room Thirty minutes earlier. Sharmi fell onto the bed with a heavy thud, her hand pressed against her burning cheek. Her vision started blurring as the room spun around her. The slap from Jay had been hard — not just physically, but emotionally devastating. Her eyes fluttered, struggling to stay open. The world grew hazy, colors blending into darkness. She was fainting. Jay stood over her, breathing heavily, his anger still simmering. But even in his rage, a flicker of regret crossed his face as he saw her losing consciousness. The storm inside the room had reached its peak — and Sharmi was the one caught in its eye.

Chapter 83: Fainting & Fractured Trust
Jay’s anger vanished the moment Sharmi collapsed. “Sharmi!” he shouted, rushing to her side. He tried shaking her gently, calling her name repeatedly, but she remained unconscious, her face pale and her breathing shallow. Panic surged through him. What have I done? He couldn’t let Tharun or Nikitha know about this — not right now. Not after everything that had already happened. He quickly stepped out of the room, rushed to the reception, and lied without hesitation. “My wife… she suddenly fainted. Please send a doctor immediately.” The hotel staff acted fast. Within five minutes, a doctor arrived at the room. Jay waited anxiously in the lobby, his mind racing with guilt and fear. When the doctor finally emerged, he gave a reassuring nod. “She’s all right,” the doctor said. “It was most likely a stress-induced faint. Her pulse, blood pressure, and pupils are normal. Nothing serious. She’s just weak and emotionally exhausted. Let her rest. She’ll probably sleep for a while. Don’t force her to stay awake. Keep an eye on her, and if she develops a severe headache, repeated vomiting, confusion, or doesn’t wake normally, bring her to the hospital immediately.” Jay thanked the doctor and returned to the room. Sharmi was now in a deep, natural sleep — her body finally giving in after the emotional storm. He gently elevated her legs with a pillow and covered her with a light blanket. Then he sat on the edge of the bed, staring at her pale face, regret heavy in his chest. Morning – The Meeting Call Exactly at 8:30 AM, Tharun and Nikitha stepped out of their room, dressed and ready for the important meeting with Dhruv. Tharun stayed calm and controlled to bring Nikki out of the pain. His assurance had got her back from the colossal pain, she decided to face the reality like Tharun wanted. She decided to think about her choice, after the important meet. But she know she had choosen already, The choice is not about choosing Tharun, its primarily about choosing to leave Jay once for all. and let Jay live his life. Tharun and Nikitha reached the Jay room and They knocked on Jay’s door. Jay opened it slightly, blocking most of the view. Sharmi was still sleeping peacefully on the bed behind him, legs elevated. “Is this meeting mandatory for all of us? We’ll join the next one if needed.” “She’s taking rest,” Jay said quietly. The visual was final blow to whatever Nikitha got inside her head. She could not see the image out there. She just pretended to not see and turned her head away. Tharun looked at him for a moment, then glanced inside briefly. “You guys are forgetting the purpose of why we came here,” Then with a disappointed tone, he said “Let’s go.” Nikki. Tharun turned and walked toward the elevator with Nikitha. Jay stood at the door for a second, then closed it gently. In the Car Tharun took one of the company cars and started driving toward the meeting venue. Nikitha sat in the passenger seat, files and documents on her lap. She prepared herself to shift her full focus on work and kept herself distracted. After a few minutes of silence, Tharun suddenly chuckled. Nikitha turned to him, confused. “Why are you laughing?” Tharun shook his head, still smiling. “See… Jay and Sharmi. They might have had a wild time as soon as we reached the hotel. I got a glimpse of how soundly she was sleeping. Looks like they had some fun.” Nikitha’s peace faded instantly. Her heart turned to stone. The casual joke hit her like a punch. She looked out the window, her mind spiraling. The image of Sharmi closing Jays mouth with her hand and the door shut, still fills her mind. The behavioral pattern she had witnessed - his silence, his withdrawal, now this - made her question everything. The jealousy, the pain, and the confusion mixed into a heavy knot in her chest. The car continued toward the meeting, but inside, Nikitha felt like she was breaking all over again.

Hey bro, I have few questions and observation
I always thought Tharun Nikki sex is not in cards, still do until I read it. It's not like I don't want it to happen it's just my observation on the characters. Are you planning to wind up story in sometime. I see pieces falling into places, story going towards logical conclusion. You also mentioned it's short story before. If you plan to reconcile couples Jay Nikki please do it quickly so their foreign trip prize doesn't go to waste.

Chapter 84: Fainted Hearts & Fragile Truths
Sharmi woke up slowly, her head throbbing with a dull ache. The first thing she saw was Jay sitting near the bed, his face etched with worry and guilt. The memories rushed back — the argument, his anger, the sharp sting of his slap. She sat up with surprising energy, her eyes blazing. Before Jay could react, Sharmi’s hand flew across his face with a loud slap. “How dare you!” she shouted, voice shaking with fury. “Who gave you the right to touch me? You slapped me for what?” Jay’s head jerked to the side. He touched his stinging cheek, regret flooding his eyes instantly. “Sharmi… I’m sorry,” he said quickly, trying to calm her. “I panicked when you fainted. It was a moment of impulse. I lost myself.” Sharmi stood up, breathing heavily, still furious. “I Seriously look down on people who use violence to control others,” she said, voice trembling. “You acted strange with me, and you think any reason would justifies it?” Jay looked down, ashamed. “You acted strange with me too, unwantedly poked into my personal… but that’s no excuse. I’m truly sorry.” Jay looked at Sharmi, she was still buring with rage, He know he is at full fault, he could not have used his hand, he could have spoke in words. He fell to his knees in front of her, head bowed. “I panicked the moment you fainted. It was an impulse. I lost control. Please forgive me.” Sharmi looked at him for a long moment, her anger slowly softening as she saw the genuine remorse in his eyes. She sat back on the bed, exhaling deeply. “In this world, every wrong thing happens because of a moment of impulse,” Impulse had destroyed happiness and families, imagine what if something worse happens to me because of your impulse, will yuo answer my family? Jay fears the worst imagining the scenario, he drops his head down in shame. The sight was bit unberable for Sharmi. she said quietly. “You need to practice controlling your anger. Please stand up. I had given you a bigger place in my heart — as a friend and mentor. Seeing you like this… it hurts.” Jay stood up slowly, still ashamed. Sharmi glanced at the clock. It was already 10 AM. “Did we miss the meeting?” she asked. Jay nodded. “Yes. You slept for a long time. I was waiting for you to recover. When you didn’t wake up, I told them you were ill and taking rest. They went ahead.” Sharmi looked disappointed, but she also felt partly responsible. Her “cupid tricks” had been backfiring ever since the flight. She decided, in that moment, to stop pushing so aggressively and rethink her strategy. Jay hesitated, then asked carefully, “Why are you doing all this? How did you know Nikitha and I are a couple?” Sharmi looked at him for a long moment. “I’ll tell you,” she said. “But first, let’s have breakfast. I still feel weak… and you probably haven’t eaten either.” Jay shook his head. “I’m not hungry.” But Sharmi stood up, pulling him gently by the arm. “Come on. We need to talk properly. And you need food.” Breakfast at the Hotel Restaurant They went down to the attached restaurant. The morning crowd was light. They sat at a quiet corner table. Sharmi ordered light breakfast — toast, fruits, and coffee. Jay barely touched his plate. After a few minutes of silence, Sharmi spoke. “I found out by accident,” she said quietly. “I saw Nikitha’s saree in your room. The way you two behave… the care, the distance, the way you look at each other when you think no one is watching. It didn’t add up with the ‘separate spouses abroad’ story. Then I found the wedding photo on your phone when I borrowed it.” Jay froze, his face turning pale. Sharmi continued gently. “I don’t know the full story yet. But I can see both of you are hurting. I wanted to help… that’s why I was pushing. I thought jealousy might make Nikitha realize what she’s losing. But I see now… it’s more complicated than that.” Jay looked down at his plate, voice heavy. “You don’t know everything, Sharmi. Please… don’t tell anyone. Not yet.” Sharmi nodded. “I won’t. But you both need to talk. Properly. Before it’s too late.” The breakfast continued in heavy silence, both lost in their own thoughts. Will the truth come out in time? Will Sharmi rework her strategy? The answers would have to wait.

Chapter 85: The Price of Trust
Tharun and Nikitha entered the luxurious hotel where Dhruv was staying. They waited in the elegant lobby, going over key points that could help them win the deal. Tharun was focused, professional, and calm. Nikitha tried to match his energy, but her mind kept drifting back to the morning’s events. The secretary soon informed them that Dhruv was ready. They were led to a private suite. Opposite to what they had imagined, Dhruv was a charming man in his early 30s — sharp features, easy smile, and an air of quiet power. He listened patiently as they gave a brief introduction about themselves and the company. Dhruv’s eyes occasionally lingered on Nikitha a little too long. She noticed it. A strange, uncomfortable feeling settled in her stomach. Tharun didn’t miss it either. After nearly an hour of discussion, Dhruv leaned back with a smile. “Tharun, let me be honest. Why should I give you this opportunity?” Tharun presented the larger benefits, but Dhruv waved it off. “I already have surplus benefits from others.” He then stood up. “Come with me for a walk.” He led Tharun to a private balcony, leaving Nikitha alone in the suite. Once they were outside, Dhruv pulled out his phone and showed Tharun a video. It was from a private club run by his brother Aditya — young, influential people in exclusive circles. In the video, a man was with his girlfriend in a very intimate, explicit situation. Dhruv smiled casually. “Hope you understand. My empire also has such clubs — much younger, more exclusive. If you go the straight paper route, it will take a long time. But by joining my circle, you reach faster. But we cant take any one there, we need to have trust on them, to trust them we need something exclusively that get displayed there, its intimacy of the couple, its a kind of thrill. We wont touch them unless or until the womens are really interested in others. Thats their freedom. I believe the lady who came with you is your girlfriend?” Tharun nodded. “Yes.” Dhruv smiled. “Speak with her. We have a club introduction next week. Maybe you should join.” Tharun’s expression remained calm, but his jaw tightened. When they returned to the suite, Dhruv looked at Nikitha with a charming smile. “Nikki, I’m expecting you to join us next week. We will grow together.” Tharun stepped forward before Nikitha could respond. “Sorry, Dhruv. We are not taking this.” Nikitha was shocked. Dhruv raised an eyebrow. “Looks like you’re confused. Maybe I’ll share the video — no one will touch their girlfriends. I can assure that. It’s just exhibition to gain our trust.” Tharun’s voice was firm. “Not necessary, sir. Thank you.” He took Nikitha’s hand and walked out, pulling her gently but decisively. In the Car They sat in silence for a few minutes as Tharun drove. Finally, Nikitha asked, “What happened?” Tharun explained everything — the video, the club, the expectation. Nikitha looked at him, surprised. She wanted to know more, it was a rare chance, getting his deal, why would he not t ake short route, or atleast ask her? she was just curious to read his mind, she asked. “He assures that they won’t touch me. Indirectly… would you still not want it?” Tharun glanced at her, then back at the road. “I’m not someone who would allow my wife or girlfriend to be treated as an object in front of others. It’s not necessary to entertain business in that way. I’m not that kind of person.” Nikitha said, fine i understood, but wont you even try through direct paper methods? Tharun reply was sharp, not necessary, we should not even stay in touch with such people even in direct methods. Nikitha looked at him for a long moment. Tharun had been her savior for weeks — emotionally and physically. His words touched something deep inside her. Tharun continued, trying to lighten the mood. “Let’s take a break. Maybe we should go for a movie. See… Jay and Sharmi might be having a great time in bed. I’m not lucky like him. At least let me spend some time with you.” Her face dropped the moment she heard Jay’s name. Tharun noticed the sudden change. “What do you think about your husband when I say movies?” he asked gently. “See, you should move on and live your own life. Just hope your friend will take care of your husband going forward. Don’t spoil your mind and mood for people who don’t want to consider you. If you want to consider someone… consider the person who wants to be with you. Like me.” Hearing that, Nikitha was now determined not to spoil her mind for people who didn’t value her. Yet her heart still ached at the mention of Jay’s name. She opened her mouth after a long mental struggle. “What movie are you taking me to?” Tharun smiled, surprised but pleased. Meanwhile – At the Hotel Jay and Sharmi were in their room. Sharmi was explaining her original plan — how she had designed the refreshment program games to make Jay and Nikitha leader and companion, hoping to bring out their love. Jay listened, stunned. Then, with genuine emotion, he hugged her tightly — like a true friend. “Thank you,” he whispered. “For trying to help me, i acted rashly without even knowing the full detail. .” You know what only because of theat refreshment program i got a ray of hope, but didn't know i would face a obstacle in name of letter. Sharmi smiled, happy for him. She then said, “I was planning something real big next…” Jay nodded. “I’ll join you if needed. Consider i'm already in.” Unbeknownst to them, Nikitha had already deviated much further than they thought. As the empty cinema hall welcomed Nikki and Tharun, a new chapter of complicated choices was beginning. |
