Excellent writing, Nikki's emotional rides have been well written and explained with every thought, and also maintaining Tharun's image clean with out displaying it as manipulation, not an easy job to write but done so well.
As per story, Nikki feeling guilty and possessive is confusing to me, She is clearly responding to Tharun. She loves Jay and just last episode she felt the jealousy and possessiveness, now would that not be called Love? Tharun says its being in years in that duty selflessly and providing care and love for other person could be bringing these emotions out of her but truly she doesn't love him at this moment. Is it true? Can that be possibility? Maybe as I have mentioned I had concerns earlier for bringing Sharmi early into the apartment and the reason for it is to make Nikita overcome these emotions and Tharun helping her with that so she slowly transforms into a woman who no longer will carry love for Jay. She will lose all these emotions and start transforming into a new one who will eventually respond to only Tharun's words and touches.
Until then her emotional maturity won't allow her to sleep with Tharun so its all pointing towards that direction. Question is what happens once the passion that lead to this fades away over time? That time Tharun and Jay will be on same footing where sex becomes routine...Also why would it always has to be Nikita's choice of choosing some one? Jay can choose others too, he doesn't need to dwell on lost cause...If Nikita is adamant on moving away, as per the agreement, he has to let her go...If Nikita can outgrow her emotions(Jealousy and love) for Jay, so can Jay...Have to see which way story will progress from hereon..for now getting together Tharun and Nikita would be obviously the flow.

Tharun is wrong. Care is right hand of love. Care does not exist without love.

Chapter 52: Tangled Hearts
Nikitha stepped inside the house in a daze, the echo of Jay’s words still ringing in her ears. Your slippers. I know their sound. She couldn’t believe how something so simple had shaken her so deeply. Tharun’s passionate kiss still burned on her lips — the heat of his mouth, the way his hands had gripped her waist, the intoxicating taste of him that made her feel alive and desired. Yet Jay’s quiet revelation pulled at her with a different kind of force. Years of togetherness wrapped in one familiar sound.
She felt stuck. Torn. Two men, two completely different kinds of pull — one fiery and new, the other deep and familiar. The taste of Tharun’s saliva still lingered faintly on her tongue, while Jay’s knowing eyes followed her every movement. Her heart stumbled between them, confused and overwhelmed.
Without a word, she slipped into the bedroom, changed into a soft, silky nighty that clung gently to her curves, and moved to the kitchen. The familiar rhythm of preparing dinner gave her something to hold onto. She cooked in silence, her mind replaying both scenes — Tharun’s heated kiss in the shadowed corner and Jay standing at the door, listening for her footsteps like a man who still carried her in his bones.
They sat down to dinner. The air between them was thick with unspoken things.
Jay took a bite, then looked at her with quiet gratitude. “Thanks for caring for me these past days, Nikki. You know… the way you looked after me when I was sick? That’s exactly what love looks like. The kind you’re trying so hard to deny right now.”
Nikitha’s fork paused mid-air. Tharun’s words echoed instantly in her mind — Care and jealousy are often mistaken for love. She set her jaw.
“You’re mistaken, Jay,” she said calmly, though her voice trembled slightly. “I would have done the same for anyone who was ill. Don’t misunderstand my care for love.”
Jay looked at her for a long second, his eyes searching hers. A faint, sad smile touched his lips. “Looks like you’ve already decided to move on. No matter what I say, you have an answer ready.” He reached across the table and lightly brushed his fingers over the back of her hand. The touch was gentle, familiar — the kind that once felt like home. “I was just trying to prove that you still love me… and that I love you too. We share real memories, Nikki. You can’t stay in denial forever.”
Nikitha pulled her hand back slowly, her skin tingling despite herself. “I’m not angry at you, Jay. I’m just following my heart to find the love I need. I have no intention of hurting you.”
Jay leaned back, studying her. “Fine. I don’t care how far you drift away from me. I still believe we have these five months to truly see things. So far, I’ve proved my point. You said we don’t share memories anymore, but this viral fever brought so many back. You remembered how I took care of you in the past. You took care of me now. That look in your eyes when I mentioned your footsteps… it told me everything. You didn’t even realize how deeply I love you.”
Nikitha’s chest tightened. She remembered the stunned feeling at the door, the unexpected warmth that had flooded her. But she shook her head. “Don’t fool yourself, Jay. Footsteps? That’s just habit after years of living together. Close proximity. Nothing more. Care is not love. Memories can be misleading.”
Jay’s gaze softened, but there was a spark of determination in it. “You’re running away from the truth.
Things only get fixed when we talk properly.”
“I already know the truth,” she replied, standing up abruptly and moving to the sink to wash her hands. The cool water did little to calm the heat rising in her body — a confusing mix of guilt, lingering desire from Tharun’s kiss, and this strange pull toward the man behind her.
Jay followed her, stopping just a step away. “You’re blinded by anger, disappointment, and whatever new excitement you’ve found.
Don’t let it blow away what’s real between us. Stop now, before it’s too late.”
Nikitha turned sharply, her nighty shifting against her body, the silky fabric outlining her breasts and hips. “Stop trying to push me into the narrative you want, Jay.”
“Where’s the narrative?” he asked, voice low and intense. “I’m just reading what’s happening around us.”
Their eyes locked. The kitchen felt smaller, warmer. For a moment, the old chemistry crackled — the kind built over years of shared nights, touches, and intimacy. Jay’s gaze dropped briefly to the way her nighty had slipped slightly off one shoulder, revealing smooth skin still flushed from earlier emotions.
Nikitha noticed and adjusted it quickly, cheeks burning. “Even if you bring up memories, Jay, I don’t think they’ll be enough to prove anything now. The dynamics have changed.”
Jay stepped closer, not touching her, but close enough that she could feel his warmth. “Okay. If that’s what you believe, then fine. I feel even more challenged now. I will create new moments. I’ll prove we loved each other — that we still have something real. I’ll remind you of every beautiful memory we share.”
Nikitha met his gaze, heart pounding. “And I’ll prove how none of those memories make sense anymore. They won’t change the current reality.”
A charged silence fell between them. Then, almost at the same time, they spoke:
“Challenge accepted.”
The words hung in the air like a spark. Jay’s eyes darkened with quiet resolve and something deeper — longing, perhaps. Nikitha felt a strange flutter in her stomach, a mix of defiance and old affection. She turned away first and headed to the bedroom, leaving Jay standing in the kitchen.
She hit the bed, pulling the covers over herself, but sleep refused to come. Her phone lay beside her. A part of her wanted Tharun’s soothing words, his bold kisses, the way he made her feel new and desired. Another part kept replaying Jay’s voice saying he knew the sound of her footsteps — small, intimate proof of years spent loving her in silence.
She lay there, caught between fire and familiarity, her body still humming from Tharun’s touch and her heart unsettled by Jay’s quiet claim. The challenge had been set. And for the first time, Nikitha wasn’t sure whose side she truly wanted to win

Chapter 53: Tharun's move and Sharmi's doubt.
The night felt endless.
Tharuns late night message was her companion.
Nikitha lay in bed beside Jay, the room dark except for the faint glow of her phone screen. Tharun’s last message still glowed softly:
Tharun: Sweet dreams, my favorite complication. I’ll wait as long as you need… but I won’t pretend I don’t have any intentions to root you for marriage, I will try to kiss you more and drag to my zone.... ?
Her thumbs hovered over the keyboard. She almost typed back — something vulnerable, something honest, something that admitted how much his words had eased the storm inside her. But she stopped midway, deleted the half-written sentence, and simply replied:
Nikitha: Good night, Tharun.
She put the phone down, staring at the ceiling. Jay’s steady breathing beside her felt both comforting and suffocating. The memory of Tharun’s passionate kiss on the rooftop still lingered on her lips — warm, hungry, full of promise. Yet Jay’s quiet words about knowing the sound of her footsteps kept echoing in her mind. Two men. Two completely different pulls. She felt stuck in the middle, stumbling between fire and familiarity.
Sleep came slowly, restless and fragmented.
The next morning, Jay got ready for the office. He still looked weak, his movements slower than usual, but he insisted to himself that he could manage. Nikitha helped him with breakfast, the air between them heavy but calmer. She was about to book a cab for herself to stay away from him but when she glanced at him again — the slight fever still clinging to his skin, the way he leaned on the table for support.
Her heart wouldn’t let her leave him alone.
“Give me the keys,” she said softly. “I’ll drive.”
Jay looked surprised but didn’t argue. They ate in relative silence, then got ready. Nikitha chose a simple yet elegant deep white kurti. Jay sat in the passenger seat, looking out the window as she drove.
When they reached the office, Sharmi was waiting near the entrance. She walked over quickly, her expression a mix of relief and urgency.
“You brought Jay with you?” Sharmi asked, glancing at him. “Good. We have the first batch moved, but the next set of modules needs your expertise badly. I won’t leave you today — you need to help us.”
Nikitha felt a small discomfort twist in her chest, but she stayed quiet.
Sharmi extended her hand to Jay with a warm smile.
“Thanks for coming in despite being unwell.”
As they spoke, a familiar hand lightly brushed Nikitha’s lower back — a brief, warm touch that sent a subtle shiver up her spine. It was Tharun.
“We have a lot of work today,” he said calmly, his voice low enough for only her to hear. “You need to fix your proposals and visit me. Come to the new cabin — the one our VP previously used. That’s mine from today. We may need to work there together.”
He gave her a small, knowing smile and walked away.
Jay noticed the proximity immediately. His jaw tightened. The casual touch, the way Tharun spoke to her — it all screamed growing intimacy. His heart ached with a sharp, helpless pain. Not just a kiss anymore. They might have already accelerated far beyond what he wanted to imagine. His mind raced, desperate to figure out how to stop this.
But reality grounded him. He remembered their conversation the previous night. If he attempted anything forceful now, she would only drift further away. He felt like he was running out of time. He couldn’t just stand there and watch another man romance — or worse, make love to — his wife.
Helpless, he moved toward his floor, the weight of the situation pressing heavily on his shoulders.
The morning dragged on in the office like a slow, suffocating fog.
For almost an hour, the team was buried in work — keyboards clicking, voices murmuring over calls, screens glowing with spreadsheets and proposals. But Jay sat at his desk like a ghost. His body was still weak from the fever, but it was his mind that refused to settle. With Nikitha and Tharun now on a different floor, he couldn’t see them. The absence gnawed at him.
The new fear that she might be crossing lines with Tharun — laughing with him, touching him, letting him get closer — kept replaying in his head like a cruel loop. His hands trembled slightly on the mouse. He tried to focus on the code, but every few minutes his thoughts drifted back to her.
Sharmi, sitting a few desks away, noticed immediately. She had known Jay long enough to see when something deeper than illness was troubling him. Without a word, she picked up her laptop and moved to the chair beside him.
“Jay sir,” she said casually, sliding into work mode, “I have some doubts on this module.
The client wants changes in the backend logic. Can you walk me through it?”
Jay blinked, pulled out of his spiral. Sharmi didn’t push for personal talk. She knew no one would open up easily about their troubles especially to strangers or new friend like her. Instead, she kept it professional, asking solid questions, learning from him, pulling him into the rhythm of work. Her calm, focused presence slowly dragged him back from the edge. For the next hour, they worked side by side, discussing code, deadlines, and optimizations. It saved him from sinking deeper into turmoil. Its a thoughtful behavior from her, pulling Jay from thoughts at the same time, his involvement made the work progress productive.
Meanwhile, on the upper floor, Nikitha had finished preparing her proposal. She picked up the file, took a deep breath, and walked toward Tharun’s new cabin — the one previously used by the VP. It was larger, more luxurious, almost like a mini office suite.
When she entered, she paused, surprised. The space looked transformed — sleek furniture, a small attached balcony, even a private washroom visible through an open door. It felt less like a cabin and more like a personal suite.
She placed the file on the table and folded her hands, smiling faintly. “You look like the new VP of this company. See how the company gifted you this?”
Tharun laughed, leaning back in his chair. “They did go overboard. Come, sit. In 30 minutes we need to finalize this proposal. We’ll have our time after that.”
For the next hour, they worked intensely — detailed briefing, reviewing numbers, refining points. Tharun was focused, professional, but his eyes kept drifting to her with quiet hunger. When they finally pressed “send” on the proposal, he stood up.
While they had been speaking, he walked to the door and locked it with a soft click.
Nikitha’s eyes widened. “Tharun… it’s an office place. We should be careful about everything. And we just started—”
He didn’t listen. He came near her, his presence commanding. Her heart beat heavily as he suddenly lifted her in his arms, carrying her effortlessly. Nikitha jolted. “Tharun, it’s office—”
He smiled, a playful glint in his eyes. “I just want to show you how my mini villa looks.” He joked about the new cabin, which had a bedroom attached, a balcony, and a washroom — almost like a small home away from home. He carried her into the bedroom area and gently laid her on the bed.
Nikki: What happen to you Tharun, what got into you?
Tharun: Im just making sure that i won you over, keeping you in my zone.. Teasing you to choose me.. He laughs.. and continued
“I’m just wishing we will have late-night works where we can sleep here, together without clothes like a husband and wife...” he murmured, his voice low.
Nikitha beat his chest lightly, half-protesting, half-laughing. Their eyes locked. The air between them thickened.
We are just friends, Im yet to make a decision, remember Tharun.. Nikitha slightly warned him of what he was trying with her.
He looked at her and said, i know.. but the same me know you had been troubled off late, and i said i would stay thick and thin with you.. The talks are just to distract you from worries, thoughts and also a gentle tease of how our chemistry going to be.
Nikki looked at him with heavy breathing..
“I just need a kiss,” he whispered. “A kiss to ease me. A kiss to make you forget everything. Remember my Kiss will be your medicine... plus I know you are drifting towards me already.”
“How do you say?” she asked, breathless.
He smiled. “Just… I know. I have
Nikitha’s eyes softened. “You should wait for some time.”
He lowered her fully onto the bed, coming on top of her. “Enough of this drama, Nikki. We know each other now. We will speak more, get to know each other more. We know we are about to be a pair soon. The wait, the long game… it won’t work out. Let’s live for ourselves.”
He sealed her lips with a deep, hungry kiss before she could process. It was passionate, demanding — his tongue exploring hers, his body pressing down with controlled desire. She could feel his hardness against her stomach through his pants. They parted after a long, sensual five-minute kiss, both breathing heavily.
“Tell me what you think,” he said, forehead resting against hers. “I will speak with Mithra. We shall begin our relationship for real.”
Nikitha looked into his eyes, her own filled with hesitation.
She finally whispered, “No… no, Tharun, I cannot. Give me some time. I need proper closure, but.......
Tharun began from where she left ... like you heart is not ready yet.”
Nikki was surprised..
Tharun smiled and said, see i got you..
Nikki said im sorry im in guilt , i could not move to either side, feel like keeping both of you in oscillation.
Tharun smiled slightly, understanding. “It’s okay, darling. You need not feel guilt. As I said earlier, I would wait as a friend. I’m glad you allow me so close — with kisses, hugs. It’s enough for me now. It just show you already choose me..
But I have only one wish: the day you decide to come to me verbally declare you are mine.. I want you to invite me for sex before marriage...”
Nikitha’s eyes widened. She smiled, a mix of surprise and shyness. “Why? what is it some kind of fantasy to your or way of love?”
Tharun said softly, “No. For years I was denied this physical closeness. If you could give me that before we marry, it would be special for me. I think that way, like sex is a token of love. once we done that i wont leave you.. for anycost.”
Nikitha didn’t say anything. She just looked into his eyes. They carried true pain and longing. For a second, she lost herself in them. He leaned in for a second, softer kiss. She could feel his hardness pressing against her again. They parted, breathing heavy.
“Do you still think you have not left your thoughts with your husband?” he asked. “I’m trying to prove you moved on, and I want you to embrace me. You liked my embrace, my hug, my kiss. You didn’t tell anything against my wish to make love to you before we marry. It only says you have moved on. You carry no baggage. its just you are still in denial. Im okay with that, i would wait.”
His face was so close to hers. Their breaths mingled, hot and heavy. Tharun said, see how "hot" our breath is. The word “hot” shook her. She could not deny the thoughts of how Jay’s body felt that morning — feverish, warm like shouting for a need for help..
She gently pushed him away, the movement soft but firm.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry.
Tharun asked what happend? did i do any mistake?
Nikik: No, Lunch time… we should go out.”
She didnt wait...
She breathed heavily as she stood up and walked out.
The time was 12:50 PM. Ten more minutes left.
Her legs carried her straight to the floor where Jay worked. She saw Jay and Sharmi working on something. She was friends with Sharmi, so meeting her was not unusual. She worried for Jay. She wanted to know if he was still running a fever.
She decided to test it. She didn’t want Jay to mistake her care for love. She walked casually toward Sharmi, stopping near her and Jay. “Can we go for lunch?” she asked, she moved a bit and pretending to lose balance slightly she faked a fall like scenario and To steady herself, her hand grabbed the back of Jay’s neck for support. She rested it there for more than a second, feeling the heat.
The temperature was still high. She knew immediately — Jay needed to visit the doctor again.
Sharmi rescued her, grabbing her arm. “Careful, Nikki! Yeah, let’s go to lunch, but I have some work left.”
Sharmi continued anyway ... let me do it after lunch she smiled and took her lunch box.
After 5 minutes, Both reached the pantry.
“How’s the work?” Nikki began.
“All good. But Jay is unwell and his mind is not at rest. He is constantly thinking about something.”
May be becaus he is unwell or thinking about his wife at distant.. feel bad for him.. Sharmi said.
Nikki felt a pain.. she then said, “While I caught his neck for support, it burned like hot.
He is your superior and head of your team, right? Take him to the hospital.”
Sharmi looked at her for a moment. She figured out something looked unusual here.
Nikki said, “I don’t want people to think there’s a link with me. from what you told last time, i fear if i take him to hospital people here would badmouth about me in back. I'm actually worried for his wife. His wife would be worrying for him. You just take him to the hospital after lunch.”
Sharmi felt everything was very odd right from the start. She deeply thought: Nikki still has thoughts of Jay even after she began an affair with Tharun. She had already ruled out Tharun and Nikki being in a full affair. Why is she like this, she is cheating on her husband already with Tharun, now she want Jay too? the way she stayed at Jay home like her own home.. she dont want to beleive her friend is too low to intrude into life of many men..
She could not contain her doubt, she asked openly.
Sharmi: Nikki do you hide something from me? why do you care so much of Jay, when you have Tharun?
Will Nikki clarify herself to Sharmi? will Sharmi know the turths?

Chapter 54: Sharmi's Suspicion
The question from Sharmi hung in the air like smoke — thick, suffocating, and impossible to ignore.
Nikitha could not face it. It felt beyond disgusting. But the reality was undeniable: she was exactly leaving that impression on everyone. She and Jay had purposely hidden their marital status for years. For a long time, the office believed Nikitha was trying to get into an affair with Jay. Jay had publicly shown disinterest, which only fueled the rumors. Now, with Anjali gone, Jay looked alone and vulnerable. And Nikitha’s recent little acts of care made Sharmi think she was trying for both Jay and Tharun while her “husband” was away.
The realization made her feel sick. Her image was being tarnished — painted as a woman juggling two men. She couldn’t explain anything without letting their deepest secret out. Deep down, she still felt indebted to Jay. She wanted to protect their secret until the loan was cleared. Revealing it now would destroy everything they had built.
She forced a calm, almost defensive smile. “Nothing special. I just felt bad. Like you think I eyed him once… if you feel bad about me for that, I can’t help it. I don’t oscillate. I’m just feeling bad like any co-human would. I’m staying in the same building and his wife is my friend. That’s it.”
Sharmi looked at her for a long moment. Something still looked odd in her eyes — a flicker of doubt, curiosity, and mild suspicion. She decided not to push further right then.
“I’ll take him to the hospital maybe later, as you said,” Sharmi replied. “He is important for my team and a good guide.”
Nikitha continued, trying to sound casual. “Please don’t let Jay know about this. I don’t want him to misunderstand. He is not with Anjali now, and I’m alone in his house. I don’t want something else to happen or be misread.”
Sharmi gave a confused yet assuring nod. “No issues.”
Post-lunch, Nikitha didn’t go to Tharun’s cabin. She stayed at her desk, working on pending proposals. From the corner of her eye, she saw Sharmi compelling Jay to go with her to the hospital in her car. She watched everything — the way Sharmi helped him into the passenger seat, the casual concern on her face. Jay informed Sharmi that his car was with Nikitha. Nikitha had already told him she would take him to the hospital in her car and come back after work.
By 7 PM, Nikitha returned home.
As she approached the villa, she realized the car parked at a distance was Sharmi’s — and she was still inside.
She couldn’t believe it. Shouldn’t she have dropped him and left? Why is she taking such liberty?
She didn’t delay. She entered through the main door.
Sharmi welcomed her with a warm smile. “Nikki, you’re back.”
Nikitha asked coldly, trying to mask her irritation, “You didn’t leave yet? What will his wife think?”
She subtly pushed the conversation away from Jay without him noticing.
Sharmi replied innocently, “Why are you getting tense, Nikki? Cool down.
Jay is my senior and now a friend. His wife will understand.
See, there are tablets — tell his wife he needs real care…if possible ask her to return from wherever she is, Jay need real care.. else someone will fill the space like Anjali did.”
She left after giving a sound voice, audible to Jay... “Jay, kanji is ready. Have it yourself.” She walked out, leaving the house.
Nikitha closed the door after seeing Sharmi’s car leave.
for a moment Nikitha thought, she had chased Sharmi away.. but what she really doesn't know is Sharmi had smelled something that she should not have.
10 Km's away
Sharmi, while driving away, looked serious.
her mind kept repeating same words...
What is the game you all are playing? Nikki? Jay? What is this drama for?
Sharmi recalled the evening episode. When she took Jay back from the hospital, the doctor had given him an injection. She helped him reach his bed and even helped him with some light cooking. She could not believe how could a women a wife could not address her husband need and stay distant for long.. how she shamelessly ask Nikitha to take care of Jay, letting another women to take care of her husband, what kind of women she is .. the thought kept bugging her, she was eager to see the face of Jay wife.. the place seemed to be neat and clean yet, more femine feel like a women constantly stay here. she had looked around the walls for picture of his wife but there were no photos of Jay with his wife. Not a single one. It looked strange. Is he really married? Not even one photo?
In the guise of helping and cleaning, she had tried scanning the house. She waited for the right moment. The entire hall didnt give any clue. May be in bed room she thought... she got a quick plan. She put the TV volume on high and entered Jay bedroom and she said, she would change bedsheet... clean bed so he would feel fresh.. Jay got up and marched towards hall, he sat at sofa and watch tv for a few minutes so she could “clean the house.”
When Jay moved to the hall, she quickly scanned the bedroom for intimate things or some documents like photos or any id cards .. nothing even Jay's was not around.. The wardrobe looked locked.
Even opening it might cause noise. She quickly arranged his bed and searched for anything personal.
That was when she noticed it — a saree at the laundry box in the corner. A familiar peach-colored saree with a distinctive floral border and design. It was the only women’s clothing outside the wardrobe. She realized it was Nikitha’s.
The scene gave her a shock.. she expected to see any name or photo of his wife but only a saree? that too Nikitha's
a dozens of questions popped up for her...
Are they in an affair?
Did the two purposefully hide it? Or maybe they are actually a couple and not strangers?
If that’s the case, why didn’t she create a noise when Anjali was in a loud affair with him?
Sharmi could not come to a clear conclusion. But the curiosity of knowing about the two had alarmingly increased inside her. She knew she wouldn’t get an answer if she asked straight. She decided to investigate and know about them secretly.

Latest episodes are tense and gripping. Just a correction needed: episodes 52 and 54 are available, but 53 is missing. A fourth character chimed in as a catalyst to forward the theme; she seems conservative. I guess Tharun already knows about Jay and Nikki's affair and is enjoying her presence and flirting with her. It was determined that he wants to be physical with her, though his actions are different.
Thanks, Heygiwriter

Chapter 55: Sharmi’s Plan and Anjali’s Re-Entry
Without knowing the storm awaiting them, Nikitha decided to stay away from Jay — slowly, deliberately. She decided to reduce speaking with him at home, answering only in short, necessary words. At the same time, she decided to divert herself and her attention to Tharun.. She planned increasing text to Tharun throughout the day — small messages, good morning notes, sharing random thoughts.
However, she also decided to subtly help Jay by driving him to the office every morning. She knew he was still weak from the fever, and she couldn’t bring herself to leave him completely alone.
It felt like a silent rebellion, a way to distance herself emotionally while still fulfilling her duties.
But this has become a new routine for everyone for almost a week.
The days blurred into a carefully orchestrated dance of distance and desire. At home, conversations became minimal, reduced to short, functional exchanges.
“Food is on the table.”
“Keys are on the hook.”
“I’m going to bed.”
Jay noticed it every time. His eyes followed her with quiet sadness, but he didn’t push, he was recovering and he was saving up his energy.. The silence in their once-cozy home grew heavier with every passing evening.
Every morning, she still drove him to the office. The car rides were thick with unspoken tension. The radio played softly in the background as Bangalore traffic crawled around them. Sometimes Jay would glance at her profile, his hand twitching as if wanting to reach for hers on the gear shift. Nikitha kept her eyes fixed on the road, knuckles tight on the steering wheel, her heart beating a guilty rhythm.
One morning, when his hand accidentally brushed hers while adjusting the AC, a spark of old familiarity shot through her.
She pulled away quickly, pretending it was nothing.
Meanwhile, her phone had become a secret gateway to Tharun. From the moment she woke up, their texts flowed freely — good morning messages with heart emojis, random photos of her coffee or the sunrise, silly memes that made her smile in the middle of the day. Tharun’s replies were always warm, playful, and charged with affection.
Tharun: Missing those lips already. Can’t wait for our “project meeting” today ?
Nikitha: Behave. We have actual work too.
Tharun: Work first. Then dessert.
The office had transformed into their private sanctuary. Thanks to a high-stakes new project with tight deadlines, they spent long hours locked inside Tharun’s luxurious cabin. The soundproof walls and locked door gave them freedom.
What started as quick kisses during lunch breaks soon became a full-blown “kiss marathon.” Every noon, after finalizing reports, Tharun would pull her onto his lap in the ergonomic chair, his hands sliding possessively around her waist. Their kisses were deep, hungry, and increasingly bold. He’d suck gently on her lower lip, then trail kisses down her neck, making her shiver and bite back soft moans. In the evenings, when the floor emptied, he’d press her against the glass balcony door overlooking the glittering city, one hand tangled in her hair, the other resting dangerously high on her thigh.
Though Nikitha’s body responded eagerly even her mind didn't stop her from knowing about what Jay did in the noon or at his place. She got to know Jay’s move from Sharmi, through indirect talks with Sharmi. Nikitha started lying that Jay’s wife kept pressuring me. She wanted to know if he had medicines or better foods. I'm sorry for asking you too much, Nikitha told her. Sharmi played along but she was observing every word, registering and doing her own math to fit a believable narrative of her own to trace the truth. But to her, it was not enough, every word of Nikitha seemed to be a lie. She wanted to know more and only Jay could help.
Sharmi, ever observant, had quietly stepped up her friendship with Jay.
She joined him for coffee breaks, asked about his health, and shared light office gossip to keep his spirits up.
Sharmi, kind-hearted, brought homemade soup for Jay one day and even accompanied him to a follow-up doctor visit, just to get closer with Jay and to feed her curiosity to know him and Nikitha better.
While On the surface, everything ran smoothly for Nikitha, she seemed to have fun with her new love and balance her emotions and guilt with Jay..
But it was not easy… inside, Nikitha was crumbling.
Nights were the hardest. Guilt settled over her like a heavy blanket. She developed a strange sleeping sickness — lying awake for hours, staring at the ceiling while Jay breathed steadily beside her. Most nights she turned her back to him, curling into herself, pretending to be asleep. Her mind replayed everything she was doing to make both men look cruel for her. She wanted happiness and she seemed to get it but Jay’s words dangerously looked possible “ you may end up hurting many hearts”
This delicate, dangerous pattern continued for an entire week. Stolen kisses in the office that left her lips swollen and her body humming. Silent car rides filled with tension. Short, cold exchanges at home. Sharmi unknowingly becomes the bridge between Nikitha’s duty and her desire. She knew she was doing the wrong thing, but didn't have the clarity to choose one among them. Even if her heart says she is going to Tharun.. She didn't get any mental strength to accept that decision and leave Jay. She crumbled inside. All she hoped for was one clear direction.. She wanted everyone to be happy. But in the end she kept getting hurt.
One Friday afternoon, the office buzzed with the usual pre-weekend energy. Most employees were wrapping up tasks and chatting about weekend plans, but Sharmi sat quietly at her desk, her sharp mind working overtime.
After weeks of subtle observations, casual conversations with Jay, and watching Nikitha’s strange behavior, Sharmi had almost zeroed in on the truth. The pieces finally clicked: Nikitha was Jay’s wife. Their awkward silences in the car, the way Nikitha still checked on him under the guise of “his wife abroad,” the lingering concern mixed with emotional distance — it all made sense now. Nothing else fit.
Yet some parts still didn’t add up. Why were there no photos of them together? Why did they act like near-strangers in public? How had they maintained this facade so naturally? And the biggest puzzle — why had Jay been involved with Anjali while Nikitha was clearly getting closer to Tharun? The contradictions swirled in her head. Unless Jay or Nikitha opened up, she would never know the full story.
Sharmi decided it was time to test the waters. When the involved could not answer? How will she make them open?
She has a plan.. Jealousy.. A way to break Nikitha’s silence. She would stir a little jealousy and see how they reacted. She decided to test it.. While Jay sat near her not knowing all these time she was keep thinking on him and Nikitha.
Meanwhile, Anjali , still under suspension , slipped into the office building that same afternoon. Her accounts had been frozen, and she desperately needed to retrieve some pending reimbursements. Avoiding the main floors where people might recognize her, she headed straight for the VP’s room on the upper level. Her old thumbprint still worked on the security panel. The door clicked open softly.
The moment she stepped inside the luxurious cabin, she expected to find the new VP. Instead, she heard muffled sounds, soft gasps, and low, intimate murmurs coming from the inner bedroom area.
Curiosity and suspicion pulled her forward. Heart pounding, Anjali crept toward the slightly ajar door and pushed it open just a crack.
The sight that greeted her froze her blood.
There, pressed against the wall in a heated embrace, were Nikitha and Tharun.
Tharun had Nikitha pinned gently but possessively, one strong hand cupping the back of her neck while the other gripped her waist, pulling her flush against his body. Their mouths were locked in a deep, passionate kiss — hungry and unhurried. Nikitha’s fingers were tangled in his hair, her body arching into him as he tilted his head to deepen the kiss.
A soft, involuntary moan escaped her lips when Tharun trailed his mouth down to her jawline, then back to capture her lips again. Their bodies moved together with clear familiarity and building desire, the kind that spoke of stolen moments and growing addiction.
Anjali’s eyes widened in pure shock. Her hand flew to her mouth to stifle a gasp.
A rage built in, while she was suspended for misbehavior here others casually having an affair.. Initially she thought VP himself had been in some affair but the case was different.
Nikitha doing it was unbelievable for her.
She questioned herself again!
Nikitha? With Tharun?

A fourth character chimed in as a catalyst to forward the theme; she seems conservative. I guess Tharun already knows about Jay and Nikki's affair and is enjoying her presence and flirting with her. It was determined that he wants to be physical with her, though his actions are different.
Thanks, Heygiwriter
The chapter numbers are fixed. wait for some surprises.

Is this some kind of soap opera in office? Nikita became shameless giving so much lenience to Tharun in office, at this point its as disgusting as Jay dragging Anjali around earlier.
Anjali knows Nikita is in affair with Tharun, Sharmi knows it and worse she knows about Jay and Nikita...I feel like I am watching some office porn with no real meaning.

True, I am not saying for the sake of it.
Why would Nikita entertain Tharun at work so casually? It goes off against everything she preached to Jay over years. Every single time Tharun touches her in office she casually makes herself available for him to make out in his cabin. At this point there is no control. Also every one knowing about every affair at work seems like this ain't any office that any one works at all lol

I think it is justifiable, she was in deep search of love and rage on jay's ignorance. How does she felt what Jay did with Anjali on pretext of saving marriage in office.. The whole story since Episode one are based on illusions .. Never meant to real.. We should enjoy the naratives.. For reality we can hop on news paper for such stories.. They are plenty my friend...

I am not looking for realistic scenarios if you think then you didn't get my point. Within the boundaries of the story premise, we see Nikita behaving oddly.

Characters and their dynamics.
1. Jay -
He is sick and weak mentally too, Still he is observing the change in Nikita but afraid to take any steps fearing it would push Nikita more towards Tharun, Yet he lets Nikita take care of him, lets her do her duties and other things. Natural progression from his character if he thinks carefully would be to push Nikita away from her duties so to see if she misses them, if she craves that home and being his wife. Her doing all those things and claiming she is doing as a friend or for anyone on the ground of humanity is obviously her way of covering her lie with duty but Jay should know better than to let her do all these and yet wait patiently. Jay should clearly draw a line on what she should be doing and what she shouldn't if she proclaims its not love and care is not love. Why should he accept her care? That would only keep her in illusion for ever that she can care but also not love.
2. Nikita - One clarity and Two possibilities:
Clarity: She needs new life, she is vexed, trapped and alone in existing life. Only thing she has clarity is to find a life which has love and care.
Possibilities:
A. She has already fallen in love with Tharun or at least en route towards that path...At this point whether story further agrees or not, she is 100% sure in her heart that Tharun is the one who can provide that love and care for her and add that amazing chemistry she has with Tharun as a bonus. She thinks 100% that Tharun is her future whether Jay like it or not. Only thing stopping her from announcing it to Tharun and confessing is she do not have a clean way of exiting from relationship with Jay with out hurting him or other financial obligations. At least that's what she thinks, she wants a clean break up and no emotional baggage from this relationship when she moves into Tharun's life and that is with in her rights to get, anyone who deserves it, its her. She has been in this stale relationship for a while and when her heart bleeds from it, she needs to get out. Question is does she understand her heart well?
B. Confusion is real, Whether she is constantly feeling guilty or whether she is constantly worried about Jay and his health or whether her thoughts keep drifting back to Jay once every 5 mins, it is making her life living hell. She is so torn between what she wants which is freedom vs what her responsibility as a wife has been all years...all this pain is coming from only one fact, that is she has taken this marriage to heart. Though it was always a contract to begin or friends with benefits, she effortlessly slipped into a role which has become her identity in real. What she was in office in the past or present is her fake identity. Her heart believes her real identity is she is Jay's wife. Hence she is feeling guilty as if she is cheating Jay. She is constantly worrying about Jay and his day, whether he is OK from his sickness or even before he was sick, she was thinking about her jealousy about Anjali. Even last episode when Tharun kissing her, her mind drifting to Jay and his hot fever. Next min she was with him testing his fever. lets assume it is only care with no love but how can she be sure of it? Did she evaluate her true feelings for Jay? She is busy running away from them as far as possible as she believes she loves Tharun. When would be the breaking point for her to get rid of Jay from her mind and heart? We obviously know she will at some point walk into Tharun's cabin or house and confess her love and agrees for sex as he has asked for a gift. Question is which one is true illusion - Care proclaimed as love or Lust proclaimed as love!
3. Tharun - Hidden agenda or pure soul.
Tharun seeking Nikita is never wrong, his intentions were always sexual to begin when he first noticed her subtle movements, her curves and its true he got attracted to her the moment he walked into that office. Jay's actions with Anjali gave him confidence on how people behave in that office and he openly pursued Nikita. Some of actions are questionable for a manager but never as a person. His genuine lust slowly author transformed into a thoughtful and considerate behavior to give him best advantage possible to get Nikita. Though his actions or gestures everything is quiet normal for a person who is seeking attention from a female partner. What gets me confusing is his subtle behavior with Nikita, he keeps repeating he will be friend until she agrees to take it next level and next second he disobeys the agreement and continues to make out with her every where - car, office, restaurants and rooftops. There is not a single place he didn't cross line despite Nikita is going through hell with in her mind. He knows she is struggling with the emotions towards her husband and she openly confessed her conflict about both men. He promised to keep it simple for her and only be a friend but his constant touches, kisses is his subtle way of manipulating her mind into thinking that she has something real going with him than with her husband. This manipulation is so subtly written by Author that it never seems as a manipulation but I feel he is manipulating her without even knowing probably himself...or maybe he knows. Simply put he is not respecting her boundaries and sad thing Nikita is not even realizing it and considering his constant touches, kisses and messages are her soothing balm against the pain from conflicting emotions. So obviously one's choice would be to lean towards the soothing balm away from the pain and that's what is exactly Tharun giving her subtly and his true game here...His words reflect that as well when he says his kisses are her peace and her getaway.
Have to see how Sharmi or Anjali change the story dynamics but even if Sharmi knows for sure that Jay and Nikita are a couple, she wouldn't act on it. Maybe it would be for good of Nikita if Sharmi knows it, she would bring fresh perspective on her thoughts...right now she is under the spell of Tharun and no clarity on her true emotions.
