Of course sex would come, In all his stories the first time sex takes time and lot of emotional baggage, once first time is over then its a marathon. Jay will feel the pain, lose her and will finally move on and accept that she wants out of his life. Only difference in this story is Tharun is also good so we have to see who she chooses at the end.

Chapter 51: Tharun's Kiss let her to new discovery

Nikitha quietly closed the door behind Sharmi and stood frozen in the hallway, her back pressed against the cool wood. Her heart hammered against her ribs like it wanted to escape. The house, usually her quiet sanctuary, now felt heavier, almost watchful. The walls seemed to lean in, echoing the soft clink of dishes and the low murmur of voices that had filled the space just minutes ago.

She walked back into the bedroom on unsteady legs. Jay was already asleep, his breathing shallow but steady under the faint glow of the bedside lamp. The light painted soft golden shadows across his pale face, highlighting the exhaustion etched into his features. He looked fragile tonight, smaller somehow, as if the illness had stripped away the man she once knew. The sight should have softened her heart.

Instead, memories of Sharmi feeding him—leaning in close, her voice gentle, her fingers brushing his—flashed through Nikitha’s mind like sparks on dry tinder.

A sharp, irrational wave of jealousy twisted deep in her chest, hot and possessive.
How dare she?

The thought was ugly, but it burned bright. She had spent the evening laughing with Tharun, letting another man’s hand linger in hers, winning silly prizes and feeling alive in ways she hadn’t in years. Yet the image of another woman caring for Jay made her blood boil. The hypocrisy crashed over her like cold water.

What a hypocrite I am.

She couldn’t sleep. She lay beside Jay, staring at the ceiling, the weight of her double standards pressing down on her chest. Every time she tried to push the thoughts away, they returned stronger, tangled with guilt and confusion.

Her phone buzzed softly on the bedside table. She picked it up, the screen’s glow illuminating her face in the dark.
Tharun: [Photo: The fluffy teddy bear from the mall, tucked tenderly under a blanket on his bed, looking peacefully asleep]

Tharun: Until you come back to me, this little guy will be my companion. I’ll take good care of him. Sweet dreams, beautiful.
A small, genuine smile broke across Nikitha’s face despite everything. Warmth bloomed in her chest, chasing away some of the chill. She typed back quickly.

Nikitha: He looks peaceful. THANK YOU, Tharun. That made me smile.

Tharun: Good. But that full-caps “THANK YOU” feels a little heavy, darling. What’s bugging you?

Nikitha: Nothing Tharun.. Good night

Tharun: I know... something is troubling you.. You can tell me anything. I’m right here.

Nikitha stared at the message for a long moment, her thumb hovering. The fact that he could read her so easily, even through text, sent a rush of relief at a same time fear through her.

Before she could respond, another message appeared.

Tharun: It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it tonight. I’ll wait. No pressure.
His patience wrapped around her like a warm blanket. She felt seen. Safe. She decided to open up, at least a little.

Nikitha: Tharun, i trust you, i want to share with you but.. It’s complicated… I don’t know how to say it.
Tharun: Oh, it means you want to share something so that it will ease your pain or doubt. .but you are not ready yet right?

Nikitha: hmmm
Tharun:  ThenGive me just the surface, then. So I know whether to wait till tomorrow or help you out of the storm tonight.

That's it, that all she need, she need to share it with someone so she could have a peaceful sleep, a guide of what she should do.. She took a deep breath and told him—without names, without full details.

Nikitha: Tharun… I feel i'm already too attached to my husband even though I want to break away. Certain things pull me back. They make me feel like a hypocrite.

Tharun: Oh, sweetheart… It’s not an issue. It just shows how sincere you’ve been all these years. If you felt nothing at all, that would mean the relationship was always empty, even at your side... Its just shows you were sincere all along.. its easy and Natural.

Tharun: It’s late now. Try to sleep. We’ll talk more tomorrow.

Nikitha: Hmmmm… Still confusing why I’m like this.

Tharun: Trust me, it’s natural. Especially in this phase. Whatever you feel right now comes straight from your heart. You’re not wrong. You’re human, and you’re beautiful for it. ? Sleep tight, my love. Dream of better days.

Nikitha: You always know what to say… Thank you.
Tharun: [Photo: The teddy bear now sitting up, holding a tiny handwritten note in its paws — “Sleep, beauty. Get some energy to spend time with your new boyfriend Tharun ?”]

Nikitha smiled softly, a warm flutter spreading through her chest. She whispered a good night into the dark, clutching the phone to her heart.

The next morning, Jay quietly announced he was feeling better and would return to the office the next day. Nikitha helped him with breakfast, the air between them heavy but calmer than before. She moved around him with practiced care, yet her thoughts kept drifting to Tharun’s messages, to the way his words had soothed the storm inside her.

At the office, piles of pending work awaited her. She avoided Sharmi and for most time she tagged along Tharun at his cabin. Tharun helped quietly in his cabin, reviewing files and offering thoughtful inputs. His presence was steady, never pushing, always supportive. Their eyes met often—lingering, warm, full of unspoken promises. In the evening, they slipped out early for some much-needed “me time.”

They chose a quiet rooftop restaurant overlooking Bangalore. The city lights sparkled below like a sea of stars, and a gentle breeze carried the scent of night jasmine. Soft music played in the background as they sat across from each other, the candlelight dancing in Tharun’s eyes.

“What’s really bugging you, Nikki?” he asked softly, his voice like velvet. He reached across the table and caught her hand, his thumb stroking slow, soothing circles over her knuckles. The touch sent a shiver up her arm. Looks like, Last night’s messages weren’t enough. I could see a worry in your eyes.. Open up to me, Nikki. I’m here.”

Nikitha hesitated, then poured it out—carefully omitting names. The jealousy. The guilt. The hypocrisy of wanting freedom while still feeling possessive.

Tharun listened without interrupting, his gaze steady and full of tenderness. When she finished, he holded her hand tight and said...

“It’s not hypocrisy,” he said calmly, his breath brushing her skin. “It’s natural. You’ve given years of loyalty. That kind of possessiveness doesn’t vanish overnight, even when the relationship is dying. It doesn’t mean you still love him the same way. It just means you’re human… and you have a huge, beautiful heart.”

He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, then leaned closer, his voice dropping. “And that woman… she’s just a friend or kind of an ongoing affair?”

Nikitha quickly dismissed in a panic, like almost defeding her husband. No No. She is just a common friend came out of nowhere, He was sick and She just helped.”

Tharun chuckled softly, the sound low and warm, sending heat pooling low in her belly. “Shit, you’re jealous and possessive… Now I’m the one who’s jealous of your husband. He didn’t even take care of you properly, yet he still manages to stir this fire in you.” His eyes darkened with playful heat as he tugged her closer across the table. “Man, he pulled off quite the trick.”

“Are you ridiculing me or praising him?” she asked, half-laughing, half-breathless from the intensity in his gaze.

Tharun chuckled softly, the sound low and intimate, carrying a hint of genuine envy that made Nikitha’s pulse quicken. His eyes darkened with a mix of playfulness and raw desire as he leaned closer across the table.

“No, beautiful,” he murmured, his voice like warm velvet brushing over her skin. “I’m not ridiculing you. I’m just jealous… deeply jealous that he still gets to hold even a piece of your love after everything.”

“See, Nikki… you yourself said there was no affair. That woman just took care of him while he was sick. It’s almost exactly like how you took care of Jay this week, tirelessly, selflessly.” His gaze held hers, intense and unwavering. “So basically, you’re just feeling jealous. And that’s completely natural.”

He smiled, a slow, charming curve of his lips that made heat pool low in her belly. “Imagine if Jay’s wife had seen you caring for him the way you did—feeding him, staying by his side, touching him with that gentle concern. She might have felt the exact same sting of jealousy. But its not you love Jay or Jay loved you.

We never know what's the issue between Jay and his wife, Just like your husband, his wife is too aboard and he is hooking up with Anjali..  But we presume they might be facing same relationship issue. However, She might have felt the exact same sting of jealousy seeing you too. Would that mean she still loved him madly? Or would it just be human emotion?”

Tharun shifted closer, his free hand sliding under the table to rest warmly on her thigh just to comfort her.

“Maybe this is one of his tricks, sweetheart. Stirring up your jealousy on purpose so he can frame it as lingering love. Now he might expect you to drop everything, fly abroad, and play the devoted wife again, taking care of him just like before.” His voice dropped lower, husky with emotion. “But care and jealousy… they’re so often misconstrued as love, especially after years together. They feel heavy, familiar. But real love? It should feel light. Free. It should set your soul on fire.”

He squeezed her hand, his eyes softening with deep affection. “Look at me—I could still take care of Mithra if she fell ill tomorrow. I’d be there in a heartbeat, make her soup, sit by her bed. But that’s care. It’s not love. Not anymore.”

His fingers on her thigh slipped a little higher, warm and reassuring, grounding her even as desire flickered between them. “And what you did for Jay? That was care too, Nikki. Pure, beautiful care. Jay is someone who is unrelated to you.. Exactly a third person in your story now, and the fact that you still showed him such kindness? It only proves what a pure, golden heart you have. You give so selflessly…to anyone but that doesn’t mean you’re in love with him.”

Nikitha stared into his eyes, the words sinking deep, unraveling the knots in her chest. Tharun’s gaze was full of patience, hunger, and unwavering devotion. He brought her hand to his chest so she could feel the steady, strong beat of his heart beneath her palm.

“Real love feels like this,” he whispered, voice thick with promise. “It feels like my heart racing every time you smile. Like wanting to steal every moment with you, touch you, make you laugh

He leaned in until their foreheads nearly touched, his breath warm against her lips. “Throw all those doubts away, my love. Be clear about what you want. Don’t let him play with your feelings anymore. I want you—all of you. I want to marry you one day. But I won’t rush. I’ll guide you, support you, wait for you, and show you every single day what true love feels like… with my hands, my words, my body, and my soul.”

His fingers gave her thigh one last gentle, heated squeeze before he pulled back slightly, still holding her hand. “Until your head clears completely, let me be your good friend… your very close, very attentive friend.”

A soft, breathless giggle escaped Nikitha’s lips as their fingers remained locked together. The weight on her heart lifted, replaced by a fluttering warmth that spread through her entire body. In Tharun’s eyes, she saw safety, passion, and a future that finally felt exciting instead of heavy.

Tharun watched her closely as she processed his words, her eyes distant, still tangled in doubts. While she was still lost in thought, he leaned in, his voice dropping to a bold, husky whisper.

“See, Nikki… there is one thing which can ease everything. One thing that can erase all these heavy thoughts, even if just for a little while.”
Her eyes lifted to meet his, wide and searching. “What?” she breathed. “I need that now.”
Without hesitation, Tharun cupped her face gently with both hands and kissed her. It was quick at first — soft, warm lips pressing tenderly against hers, a spark that made her heart leap. He pulled back just enough to gauge her reaction, his breath mingling with hers.
Nikitha blinked, her cheeks flushing. “Tharun… we promised not to urge sexual desires. We wanted to get to know each other first, right?”
He smiled, slow and reassuring, his thumbs brushing her cheeks with infinite tenderness. “This is not sex, baby. This isn’t lust. This is my way of telling you — emotionally, physically — that I’m here. That I’m yours. A kiss can say what words sometimes can’t.”
Before she could fully process, he pulled her closer across the intimate corner of the rooftop. His mouth claimed hers again, deeper this time. The kiss was slow, passionate, and full of longing — lips parting, tongues meeting in a warm, sensual dance. Ten full minutes melted away in that quiet, shadowed corner where the city lights couldn’t reach them. His hands slid to her waist, holding her securely as the world faded. The kiss grew heated yet loving — soft bites on her lower lip, gentle sucks, the taste of him filling her senses. Nikitha felt herself melting into him, her body responding with a rush of warmth and desire.

For a moment, she was happy. Genuinely happy. Their bond was growing so naturally — built on care, understanding, and this electric pull. But midway through the kiss, his earlier words echoed in her mind: “my way of telling I’m your love…” It sounded too familiar. Jay had said something almost exactly like that once, but it was in broken words, it reminded of her sex with Jay, every nights.. What if Jay sex with her was his way of love? did i mis read it, the thoughts disturbed her.

She pulled back suddenly, breathing hard. Tharun’s saliva glistened on her swollen lips and tongue. “I’m sorry… I can’t do this,” she whispered, voice trembling.
Tharun didn’t let her go far. He wrapped his arms around her in a warm, protective hug, pulling her against his chest. His heartbeat was steady and strong beneath her cheek.

“I know what you might be thinking,” he murmured softly into her hair, his hand gently stroking her back. “It will take time, Nikki. Trust me — my kisses are going to be medicine for your pain. They’ll be the path that leads you to real love. This isn’t lust. This is love. Pure, patient, and real.”

She stayed silent for a long moment, nestled in his embrace, before finally whispering, “I’m sorry…”

As she shifted slightly in his arms, she realized her dress had ridden up a little during their passionate kiss, the neckline dipping lower and revealing more of her soft, inviting cleavage. Tharun’s eyes flicked down for a brief second, a warm, appreciative smile curving his lips. Nikitha noticed and immediately grew shy, her cheeks burning as she adjusted her dress with flustered fingers.

“You’re beautiful,” he said gently, no pressure in his voice, only affection. “Let me drop you near your house. Next street is fine.”

The drive was quiet. Tharun gave her the space she needed, one hand resting lightly on hers whenever he could, offering silent comfort. When he finally stopped the car a safe distance from her home, he turned to her, eyes full of sincerity.

“Just keep one thing in mind, my love. Don’t misread anything for love — love has to be felt. And the way you didn’t stop kissing me back there… that was love I felt. Deeply.”

Nikitha looked at him, still confused, her heart torn between the warmth he offered and the doubts swirling inside. She managed a small, uncertain smile before stepping out of the car and walking toward her house, the night air cool against her flushed skin. But while she walk, The memories of her kiss with Tharun had only created more questions. What if Jay’s touch, his desire, had also been his way of showing love?

The words kept repeating in her head as she reached the house, She stood at the door for a long time, lost in guilt and doubt, not even reaching for her key. She stood still lost in thoughts for almost 8 Mins.

Suddenly, the door opened.

Jay stood there, looking surprised. “Why are you standing here for so long? Couldn’t you open the door?”

Nikitha blinked. “I didn’t ring the bell… I didn’t make any noise. How did you know I was here?”

Jay smiled faintly. “Your slippers. I know their sound. Out of every noise in the world, I can recognize yours. I heard them five minutes ago but didn’t see you come in, so I came to check.”

The simple answer stunned her. He even knows the sound of my footsteps?

Excellent writing, Nikki's emotional rides have been well written and explained with every thought, and also maintaining Tharun's image clean with out displaying it as manipulation, not an easy job to write but done so well.

As per story, Nikki feeling guilty and possessive is confusing to me, She is clearly responding to Tharun. She loves Jay and just last episode she felt the jealousy and possessiveness, now would that not be called Love? Tharun says its being in years in that duty selflessly and providing care and love for other person could be bringing these emotions out of her but truly she doesn't love him at this moment. Is it true? Can that be possibility? Maybe as I have mentioned I had concerns earlier for bringing Sharmi early into the apartment and the reason for it is to make Nikita overcome these emotions and Tharun helping her with that so she slowly transforms into a woman who no longer will carry love for Jay. She will lose all these emotions and start transforming into a new one who will eventually respond to only Tharun's words and touches.

Until then her emotional maturity won't allow her to sleep with Tharun so its all pointing towards that direction. Question is what happens once the passion that lead to this fades away over time? That time Tharun and Jay will be on same footing where sex becomes routine...Also why would it always has to be Nikita's choice of choosing some one? Jay can choose others too, he doesn't need to dwell on lost cause...If Nikita is adamant on moving away, as per the agreement, he has to let her go...If Nikita can outgrow her emotions(Jealousy and love) for Jay, so can Jay...Have to see which way story will progress from hereon..for now getting together Tharun and Nikita would be obviously the flow.
