Love should not be involved in Nikita and Tharun relationship . It would be illogical and unreal. Only lust is logical and real.

Chapter 45: Fever & Unspoken Pull

Nikitha turned toward Jay and froze.
His body was radiating heat. She gently touched his forehead — it was burning.
“Jay…” she whispered, shaking him lightly. “Jay, wake up.”

He groaned, eyes half-open, clearly disoriented.
His body was too hot. She somehow managed to get him sitting up, speaking softly to him until he became slightly coherent.

“You have a high fever,” she said, worry clear in her voice. “Come lets go to hospital.”
Jay was too weak to walk. She helped him wrap his arm around her shoulder and half-carried him to the car. She hadn’t seen him with a fever in years. This was the first time, and he felt heavier than ever. The drive to the hospital was tense, her mind racing with guilt and concern.

At the hospital, the doctor ran some quick tests and confirmed it was likely a viral fever, possibly from contaminated water.

“Only home-cooked food, light diet, and complete bed rest for at least a week,” the doctor advised.
“Avoid outside food completely.”

Nikitha nodded, a bitter laugh echoing inside her head.

Even when I decide to quit him, the situations keep pulling me back.

Jay was in no state to speak.
The drive back home was mentally exhausting for her.
She kept glancing at him, her heart aching with a complicated mix of care and confusion.

She asked to herself: Why does it feel like the universe doesn’t want me to walk away?

When they reached home, she helped him lie down on the bed, wrapping him with a warm bedsheet. Minutes later, the medicine and injection made him drowsy, and he fell into a deep sleep.

Nikitha couldn’t sleep. She lay beside him, staring at the ceiling, thinking how situations kept pushing her toward him despite everything.
Bored and restless, she picked up her phone. There were several unread messages from Tharun.

Tharun (9:45 PM): Had a great time walking with you on the beach today. You looked peaceful.
Tharun (10:20 PM): That anklet suits you perfectly. Hope you’re smiling right now.
Tharun (11:00 PM): Good night, my love. Sleep well. Can’t stop thinking about our talk.
Tharun (11:10AM): Still awake? Just wanted to say I’m really happy we’re taking things slow. Miss you already.

at 11.20 PM She replied briefly:
Nikitha: I’ll be on leave tomorrow. Jay is not well.

Tharun called her instantly. Nikitha panicked.
She doesnt want to disturb Jay,

She carefully moved upstairs so as not to wake Jay and answered in a husky, low voice.
“What, Tharun? At this time?” she whispered.

Tharun let out a big laugh on the other end.

“What’s with your husky voice? Like someone talking secretly,” he teased. “I remember my college days. I used to talk to Mithra over the phone. We both spoke in husky voices so our parents wouldn’t hear. After years, maybe 3 years ago, I got a friend at the Calicut office. She was married and very flirty. Whenever we got a break, she used to flirt with me. She was my senior. You know, I was young, just out of college. Mithra was busy and not in touch. What would I do? I was tempted. I called her at midnight to flirt. She used to speak with me in that husky voice, all bold… she was literally cheating her husband, hahaha.”

Nikitha listened quietly, without any judgment or joy. Her mind was half with Jay.
She wasn’t in a state to realize he was casually comparing her to cheating wives.

Tharun continued, his tone softening, “But today is different.
I have a married woman in place of love, not just flirt or something… I love you, Nikki.”

The words hit her. It was the first time he had said it so directly.
A strange feeling stirred in her chest.

Nikitha replied carefully, “Thanks…Tharun... but things are different here. Jay is sick.
The doctor said he needs bed rest and medication for at least 3 days.
Im already felt like stuffed inside my head..
I fear I won’t be able to help him if I come to the office.”

Tharun paused. “Wait, what do you have to do for him when he is sick?”
How is he related to you?
wont his wife take care of him?

Nikitha realized her blunt slip.
She quickly searched for a lie.. she finally said after a pause.... “I’m helping his wife.
I mean She called me. She’s also an abroad working person like my husband.”

Tharun sounded surprised. “Wow, what an unexpected coincidence… So you two are in the same house? How did all this happen? I mean…”
Nikitha said, “Trust me, its just i'm helping her (she lied).”

Tharun: I trust you baby , but see he is a man after all" you seems to be in his house..
after a pause
He asked, “Shall I come to help? I mean, he is a man after all.
Look how he took Anjali casually in the office. I fear for you…”

Nikitha said, “I know him. No worries. Just informing you I’ll be on leave today.”  I have been with him for years. Like His wife is not around most times like my husband (another life)

Tharun: with a laugh... may be he is gay then.. let me be frank, if he didnt do anything for years staying so close, i doubt if he would be gay, may be to show of he partnered with Anjali to lie..

Nikitha irritated and said, stop joking, its bad to speak about others.

Tharun: No darlng, i was just making fun, because you are most beautiful and sexy women i have seen , if he ignored you and choose Anjali he must be blined or Gay who pretends to be straight before anyone.

Nikitha was not clearly enjoying this, she said, lets not speak about other so bad. I dont like it. If you called me about sudden leave, this is it. and i dont need yuor help, let me help my friend and her husband. after all he is a friend to you too? you two had planned to get me in your team

Tharun smiles, then fine helping a friend is not an issue, anyway, here is my suggestion, take care of him. a friendly help but dont take full leave.

Tharun suggested, “Come to the office after noon. Cooking and helping him… full day leave for both of you might send a wrong message at the office.”

Nikitha thought for a second and said, “Then okay, I’ll come in the noon.”
They kept the phone down.

But Tharun got a doubt. These arrangements between them looked strange… far from believable.

Nikita should stay stick to Jay during his sick condition as Jay stayed stick to her during her bad times. If not it will make her character bad and almost villain. True deep love always helps to manage a way to overcome every difficulties no matter what. Lets see how heygi narrates, what he narrates.

Chapter 46: Care & Lies

The first rays of morning light filtered through the curtains as Nikitha stirred awake. Her body ached from the emotional storm of the previous night, but she pushed herself up, determined. Jay needed her. Even now, even as her heart pulled her toward Tharun, she couldn’t abandon the man who had shared her bed and her struggles for so long.

She moved quietly into the small kitchen and prepared kanji — a simple, nourishing rice porridge simmered with ginger and a touch of salt. The warm, comforting aroma filled the air as she carried the bowl downstairs. Jay lay propped against the pillows, his face pale but his eyes following her every movement with quiet intensity.
Without a word, she set the bowl aside and dipped a soft cloth in warm water. She began wiping his face with gentle strokes, tracing the line of his jaw, his fever-damp forehead, then down to his arms. Her touch was tender, almost maternal, yet laced with the heaviness of guilt.

“You don’t have to do this,” Jay whispered hoarsely, his voice cracking. “I’m sorry… for making things so hard for you, Nikki.”

Her hand paused. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. “You’re ill. Don’t speak. Just rest.” She continued cleaning him, her fingers lingering a second longer on his skin, remembering nights when this same body had held her through her own fevers and heartbreaks. “The doctor mentioned contaminated water. How did this happen?”
He nodded weakly. “You didn’t come back to the office. I waited for you. When you didn’t come, I realized you went with him.” I thought you wont come early to cook, so i just ate at a new place, thing i got it there..  So about you going with him not an official meet? A date?

She replied softly, “Yeah… I went to have a proper date this time.
I mean, true time to spend

You just went on a date a day before?...So it's not a proper date? He asked

She exhaled and said. “ I should admit, I was a bit hazy, rushed everything. May be outcome of our recent fights. But i had to be honest, i don't want to do anything in rush.  I feel like I’m hurting everybody. This has been in my heart. I wanted to speak with you about the office, the Anjali thing, about my decision, but you were sick.”
Jay looked at her, his eyes searching.

“Looks like you have decided something.. Don't say you are going to Leave me?”
The question hit her like a stone in the chest. Nikitha’s breath caught. Her fingers twisted in the bedsheet. “I’m not thinking that far ahead. Right now… I’m being selfish, Jay. I just want to experience what real love feels like. To start fresh with him — to actually know him. It’s not out of anger toward you. It’s for me.”

Jay swallowed hard. “And what I said about love… the one we have for each other and challenges? You don't want it anymore??”

The silence stretched. Memories flooded her — late nights, shared laughter turning into heated kisses, the comfort of his arms during her lowest days. Guilt clawed at her throat.

She looked at him, no immediate answer. The question pushed her into guilt.
She began.. We should stop fooling ourself thinking like a real husband and wife. “We were friends with benefits,” she said softly, her voice trembling. “Somewhere along the way, expectations got twisted. It caused so much damage. Let’s just… be friends for now. See where it goes without forcing anything. I don’t want either of us destroyed. You even challenged me — said you’d prove your love, that you’d make me realise my love for you. But I don’t think that’s possible anymore. I don’t want you holding onto false hope.”

Then, he asked, “Then why do you care about me so much?”

Nikitha smiled sadly.“Because we lived together, Jay. We survived tough times side by side. Remember when I had that terrible fever — worse than this — bedridden with malaria? You stayed up all night, wiping my sweat, telling me silly stories just to keep me awake. Your voice… it was the only thing that made the pain bearable. Those memories are burned into me..”

Jay smirked with a small smile. “You questioned me about what memories we have together. This is one, Nikki.”

And I have won the first step in my challenge, a little memory of us together.. This is the love you are unwilling to see.

Nikitha was caught by him.. The weight of their shared history pressed on her heart like an anchor. Before she could respond, the sharp ring of the doorbell echoed from upstairs.

The ring came from the upstairs main door. Nikitha’s heart jolted. Tharun. She quickly wiped her eyes. “Stay in bed. I’ll handle it.”

She hurried upstairs, her bare feet padding on the cool floor. When she opened the door, Tharun stood there, looking devastatingly handsome in a casual shirt and jeans. His eyes widened the moment they landed on her.

She was still in her nighty — a soft, pale lavender piece that hugged her body like a second skin. The thin straps rested delicately on her shoulders, the neckline dipping just enough to reveal the gentle swell of her breasts. The hem fluttered mid-thigh, her legs smooth and inviting after her morning wash. Without a bra, her nipples had hardened slightly in the cool morning air, faintly visible through the fabric.

“Oh fuck, Nikki…” Tharun breathed, his voice dropping into a husky growl. He stepped inside immediately, kicking the door shut behind him. “You look so goddamn sexy like this. Fresh out of bed, all soft and warm… it’s driving me insane.”

Nikitha for a second was shocked, just last evening there in an agreement but he seemed to go off the line as soon as he entered. Wait, didn't we have an agreement?

But Tharun ignored her…His hands found her waist instantly, pulling her flush against him. The heat of his body radiated through the thin nighty, and she could already feel the growing hardness pressing against her stomach. His gaze darkened with raw desire — the sight of her like this, vulnerable yet sensual, her hair tousled and cheeks still flushed from emotion, ignited something primal in him. It wasn’t just the outfit; it was the intimacy of catching her in this private, domestic moment

“I missed you so much,” he murmured hotly against her ear, lips brushing the sensitive skin of her neck.

Nikitha’s breath hitched, a rush of heat flooding her core despite the situation. She pushed lightly against his chest, though her body betrayed her with a shiver of arousal. “Tharun! You were supposed to be a good boy after last night. Now you’re like this? Behave.”

He chuckled darkly, nipping at her earlobe. “Can you blame me? You’re standing here looking like every wet dream I’ve had for a long time..  That nighty should be illegal on you.” His fingers traced the strap on her shoulder, tugging it teasingly. Nikki's face turned red.

Tharun raised his hand, okay I surrender.. Let me be a good boy!

But before that let me ask you one question? “Did you wear anything underneath while taking care of him? Or are you completely bare, like last time?” I bet you gave him hard which you were supposed to give to me!. Lucky bastard

She slapped his chest playfully, though her cheeks burned. “Behave, you horny idiot!” But she was laughing too, the tension mixing with undeniable chemistry. “I made him kanji and came straight up. Yes, tonight. Jay is not a pervert like you, he didn't even notice?”

She asked why are you here Unannounced?  His eyes were blazing. “I was a little worried about Jay… and yeah, maybe a little insecure. But mostly I just needed to see you.”

She slapped his hand again as it wandered back to her hip.
“I know how to take care of myself.

Okay you came to see him right, then check on him and leave soon..  What's the urgency? Tharun asked

Nikka pushed him. Come on, let’s go down together, she directed him out of house via stairs

They slipped out and descended. Before entering Jay’s room, Nikitha composed herself,

Tharun put on a concerned face as they stepped in. “Hey man, how are you feeling? Niki told me you were sick last night. Sorry to hear that. With your wife working abroad and all… it’s tough. That’s exactly why I’m moving away from Mithra and sticking with Niki. Distance relationships ruin everything. But look at Niki — such a good-hearted friend. Your wife even called her to take care of you.”

Jay’s face tightened with stunned disbelief at the web of lies. Behind Tharun, Nikitha shot him a sharp, pleading look — stay calm.

Jay was clearly irritated, he doesn't want to act before her, allowing another man to boss around him and his wife.. He forced a strained smile. “It’s better if you two leave. Headache’s killing me.” His voice dripped with irritation. “Thanks for checking on me… Mrs. Nikitha.”

The tension was thick enough to cut. Tharun frowned, sensing something off but not understanding it. As they stepped outside, he muttered, “He’s too cocky. You shouldn’t have to deal with that rude asshole. Come back to me at noon, okay? I’ll make it worth your while.”

Tharun tried to come with her upstairs, but Nikitha sent him away after a few sweet talks to reduce the tension.

She could have turned the guns on Anjali as jay has lost her relationship... So Tharun can understand why Jay is cocky..

Nikkita must not go to office for 3 days at least no matter what in my opinion. It will make her character degraded. Tharun's lusty approached towards Nikkita must not converted to love. Love does not belong to unethical relationship. It is never seen anywhere because love is a pure element of nature. Nature never allowed it till this world ends. Author Heygi should take caution mind when narrates the complex affair between Jay and Nikkita. I am humbly expressing my opinion of course. Not at all dictating.

What shall we do, shall we send a message to Jay and Nikitha via whatsapp and ask them to get united and stop the story?

Don't worry, the moment you post next episode, he will be ready with next demand with "should" and ending with that he is not authoritative... Some people can't digest the liberty and want to have the world just follow their thoughts and it’s interesting to see how strongly we feel about the characters and their choices. At the same time, I think stories like this are meant to explore messy, complicated situations, even ones that don’t fit into what we usually consider “right” or “pure.”

For me, part of the appeal is seeing how flawed characters navigate difficult emotions and relationships. It doesn’t always have to reflect an ideal to be meaningful or engaging.

I liked the way jay called mrs. Nikitha to project in front of Tharun that there is nothing between them.

There is always situations which lead to affair, i never justify a cheating or affair or a something not righteous, but i always pass a fear of what a mis communication, what an ego, what an unsaid love would damage the relationship which leads to that.. to people who seek thrill with affair in sex with stories, will also realize, the flaws in.. somewhere it will stay in their mind and realizes, fantasies or anything that harm relationship will be stopped at-least gave an alter vision. In reality once you show a thrill a bodily bond formed its tough to stop.. that's why my climaxes are bitter sweet to an extent.  Stop blaming others, Analyze save relationships, don't mistreat others, try to love and stay there and make sure you treat your loved one better. :)

Xossipy for most filled with a straight cheating stories of nowhere, nothing just they see, they speak sex, here  i just wanted to highlight and imagine situations where the issues that leads them too. but some readers, doesn't want me to do that to bring the situations front :) in a way its a win for me.. as a writer

Did Tharun had affair with that senior staff. Luckily The way he humiliated her like cock hungry woman did not reach Niki. Otherwise things would have been different. Lucky bastard.

Niki never had any love before her marriage with jay. It is the reason she is finding reason to be with the first man of her life. But this asshole taking everything for granted and teasing her.

There are always stories behind an affair—quiet cracks that no one notices at first. I don’t defend cheating, not at all. But I do wonder about the silences that grow between two people… the unsaid love, the wounded egos, the conversations that never happen.

In a world shaped by patriarchy, we are often taught to suppress more than we express. Men are told to hide vulnerability, women to endure more than they should. Needs go unspoken. Emotions get mislabeled. And somewhere in that imbalance, distance begins to grow. People with maturity will understand these realistic natures.

Some people chase thrill to fill that emptiness. And yes, for a moment, it feels alive like something missing has finally been found. But that feeling doesn’t come without a shadow. The mind remembers. The heart questions. And eventually, the flaws reveal themselves and crawl back to loved ones.

Because in reality, once a affir forms, whether emotional or physical, it is never simple to walk away. That’s why these moments feel bittersweet… not just passion, but consequence.

Maybe instead of blaming, we need to pause and reflect. To ask ourselves what went unheard, what went unseen. To unlearn the parts of us that were shaped by silence and control.

Love isn’t just staying—it’s showing up, speaking honestly, listening deeply. It’s choosing your person, again and again, with care.

Treat your loved ones gently. Say what you feel before it turns into distance. And don’t let a world that taught you to hold back be the reason you lose something real.

Well said!

Relationships are never easy when things are taken for granted. Communication is the key, If that is missing then you are not acknowledging the love you feel for other person. I can easily see from here Nikita ending up with Tharun and Jay moving on after hard break up with Nikita.

I would really like Nikita to see Jay falling for another woman, I mean not as an affair but real love and see how that reflects on her feelings. That would give her heart a real understanding on how she feels about Jay.
