I think, things can slow down a bit.. with husband in house child in next room, lokesh and Laila should not do this. If something had happened in coimbatore it's accident, but doing same here is not correct.
Karthik must be having young thick virile cock that can drive shruti mad. Haasini will get a sibling soon

Don't bring serious issues or sensitive cases here.
For me, this place is just for fun — a space to relax, laugh, write, and escape for a while. Not everything needs to turn serious or complicated.
I’m not here to carry heavy discussions or get dragged into emotional debates. I just want to enjoy the moment, talk freely, and keep things light.
And honestly, I can leave anytime I want — that’s the whole point. Nothing here is that deep for me.
So let’s not overcomplicate things or turn this into something intense. Keep it simple, keep it chill.

Laila husband is pathetic. For few hours not being with wife in the evening he is nearly losing her.
I thought initially as wife swap but turned different. Anyways lokesh is not a good husband for shruti so it is not cheating.
Karthik is taking revenge on behalf of Divya.

Chapter 49 I— Morning After
Morning arrived differently for each of them.
Same city. Same sunrise over Chennai.
But four entirely different storms.
---
Lokesh
Lokesh stood near the kitchen counter with a cup of coffee that had already gone cold.
He barely remembered sleeping.
Fragments of the previous night kept replaying in his mind — Laila’s laughter, the closeness, the silence between words, the way neither of them had stepped away when they still could have.
Nothing irreversible had happened.
At least that’s what he kept telling himself.
But something had changed.
That was the dangerous part.
His wife moved around the house casually, unaware of the chaos in his head, and the guilt sat heavier because of it.
He opened his phone.
Three times he typed a message to Laila.
Three times he erased it.
Because he didn’t know whether he wanted distance from her…
or another reason to go closer.
---
Laila
Laila woke up late, still wrapped in the half-warm comfort of the night before.
For a few peaceful seconds, she simply smiled into the pillow.
Then reality returned.
Lokesh was married.
That single truth quietly ruined every beautiful memory trying to form in her mind.
Yet she couldn’t stop thinking about him.
Not just physically.
It was worse than that now.
She had started waiting for his attention.
Waiting for his voice.
Waiting for the pauses between conversations that felt more intimate than actual touch.
She looked at her phone.
No message.
Her expression changed immediately, though she hated herself for it.
“Good,” she whispered.
But deep down, disappointment had already settled in.
---
Shruthi
Shruthi woke with a pounding headache and blurred memories from the office celebration.
Music.
Lights.
Laughter.
Drinks she normally wouldn’t have taken.
Then—
Karthik.
The memory arrived in flashes strong enough to make her sit upright.
The closeness.
His hand around her waist.
That moment when neither of them had moved away.
And the kiss.
Her breathing became uneven.
She touched her forehead, trying to think clearly.
Was it a mistake?
Was it loneliness?
Or had some hidden part of her wanted it to happen?
That question scared her the most.
Because if she blamed alcohol entirely, she could move on easily.
But if even a small part of her had meant it…
then the situation had already become far more dangerous than she wanted to admit.
---
Karthik
Karthik woke up with the kind of smile that only came after crossing a line he had wanted to cross for a very long time.
Unlike the others, he wasn’t confused.
He remembered everything.
And he knew exactly what he was doing.
He leaned back against his bed, replaying the kiss in his mind with quiet satisfaction.
Shruthi might wake up guilty.
Might avoid him.
Might pretend nothing happened.
But he had seen the hesitation in her eyes before the kiss — and more importantly, he had seen that she didn’t stop him.
For Karthik, that was enough.
His phone screen lit up.
Office group messages.
Hangover jokes.
Photos from the celebration.
He ignored all of them.
Because only one person mattered now.
And somewhere else in the city, Shruthi was probably thinking about him too.
---
By noon, all four would step back into their normal lives.
Normal conversations.
Normal routines.
Normal masks.
But beneath all of it, something fragile had already shifted.
And once emotions cross certain lines quietly…
they rarely return unchanged.

Chapter 49 II — What They Really Want
Sometimes people don’t fall into dangerous situations suddenly.
Sometimes they walk into them slowly…
through attention, loneliness, curiosity, and the comfort of being understood by the wrong person at the right time.
And now, all four of them stood at that edge.
Whether they admitted it or not.
---
Lokesh — What He Wants
Lokesh keeps telling himself that this is temporary.
Just emotional distraction.
Just harmless closeness.
But deep inside, what he truly wants is something he has not felt in a long time:
To feel seen again.
Laila listens to him differently.
Looks at him differently.
Around her, he doesn’t feel like someone trapped inside responsibilities, routines, and expectations.
He feels younger.
Wanted.
Alive.
That feeling is becoming addictive.
But another voice inside him keeps asking the question he avoids the most:
“If this continues… how long before emotional closeness becomes betrayal?”
Because once a man starts hiding conversations, waiting for messages, and thinking about another woman before sleeping—
the line has already started fading.
And Lokesh knows it.
That is why the guilt is growing faster than the attraction.
---
Laila — What She Wants
Laila entered this connection believing she was emotionally strong enough to control it.
Now she is no longer sure.
At first, she only liked the attention.
Then the conversations.
Then the comfort.
Now she waits for him unconsciously.
That frightens her.
Because the most dangerous relationships are not always physical first.
Sometimes they become emotional long before anyone notices.
A part of her wants him to stop before things get worse.
But another part quietly wonders:
“What if he chooses me emotionally over the life he already has?”
That thought alone is enough to destroy her peace.
And she hates herself for even imagining it.
Because if this path continues, eventually one of them will demand clarity.
And clarity destroys beautiful illusions faster than reality ever does.
---
Shruthi — What She Wants
Shruthi wants denial.
She wants to wake up and convince herself the kiss meant nothing.
Alcohol.
Confusion.
A mistake.
That explanation feels safe.
But the truth is more complicated.
Because a part of her responded emotionally even before the kiss happened.
That is what she cannot forgive herself for.
Karthik makes her feel desired in a way she hasn’t experienced recently.
Not carefully.
Not politely.
Directly.
And dangerous attention often becomes tempting during emotionally vulnerable moments.
But Shruthi also understands something important:
If she continues entertaining this emotional tension, eventually she will stop feeling guilty.
And the moment guilt disappears…
crossing bigger lines becomes easier.
That realization terrifies her more than the kiss itself.
---
Karthik — What He Wants
Karthik is the only one among them not pretending innocence.
He knows exactly what he wants.
Shruthi.
Not just a moment.
Not just flirtation.
He wants emotional access to her life.
And now that a boundary has already been crossed, he believes the hardest part is over.
To him, emotional hesitation is temporary.
Repeated closeness changes people eventually.
That is what he is counting on.
But even Karthik understands the risk.
Because relationships built in secrecy often survive through excitement, not stability.
The closer he gets to Shruthi, the more complicated everything around them will become.
Office dynamics.
Trust.
Reputation.
Emotional dependency.
And if feelings deepen unevenly, somebody will eventually get hurt far more than expected.
---
If They Continue Down This Path…
Right now, all four still have excuses.
Nothing “serious” has happened yet.
That is the lie people tell themselves before situations spiral.
Because emotional affairs rarely begin with dramatic decisions.
They begin with small permissions.
One extra conversation.
One hidden smile.
One moment of comfort during loneliness.
One person becoming emotionally more important than they should be.
And if these four continue walking this path—
eventually the secrecy itself will become intimacy.
The tension will become attachment.
The attachment will become need.
And once people start needing each other emotionally…
someone always ends up crossing a line they once believed they never would.

Karthik is clever on his moves. Things should have got over in coimbatore itself. When both kissed second time and chances of them in bed is high. Looks like it is delayed wantedly. Hope karthik does not disappoint in bed like Lokesh.

Excellent update
Only thing that irks is having a insecure mindset with Laila taking care of haasini, Shruthi not bothering to call her husband to pick her. She can befriend with Shahrukh and move closer and ask him to picknher on the way. Just a thought.

Chapter 50 — Monsoon Between Them
Chennai had finally changed.
After months of unbearable April and May heat that left the city exhausted and restless, October arrived with dark clouds gathering above the skyline.
Then came the cyclone warnings.
The monsoon settled heavily over the city.
Rainwater flooded roads.
Power cuts became common in some areas.
Traffic slowed to a crawl every evening.
And almost every important moment in their lives now seemed to happen under grey skies and continuous rain.
As though the weather itself was quietly absorbing everyone’s emotions.
---
That evening, rain lashed hard against apartment balconies across the city.
The wind carried the smell of wet roads and soaked trees into every open corridor.
And for the first time in a very long while—
Shruthi came home early.
Even Hasini looked surprised.
“You came before dark!” she shouted happily while running toward her.
Shruthi smiled faintly and hugged her tightly.
“There was a server issue in the office because of the rain,” she said casually. “Most work got postponed.”
Believable enough.
No one questioned it further.
---
The apartment slowly filled with a warmth it had been missing for months.
Shruthi helped Hasini with homework at the dining table while rain continued pouring outside.
The child kept talking endlessly while showing notebooks, drawings, unfinished spellings, and college gossip.
For once, Shruthi listened patiently.
Not distracted.
Not tired.
Present.
Later, she moved into the kitchen and prepared dinner herself.
Simple food.
Nothing elaborate.
Yet the atmosphere inside the house felt strangely comforting.
Almost like an older version of their marriage had briefly returned.
---
Laila noticed it too.
When she came over to return Hasini’s water bottle she had accidentally carried earlier, she paused slightly seeing the lights on, the smell of cooking, and Shruthi moving around the kitchen.
“You came early today?” Laila asked casually.
“Miracle, right?” Shruthi laughed softly.
They spoke for a few minutes near the doorway.
Small conversations.
Rain complaints.
Power cut jokes.
Office frustrations.
Hasini interrupting randomly in between.
Nothing unusual.
Nothing suspicious.
But Lokesh quietly noticed how naturally Laila fit into their everyday life now.
And somehow that realization made him uncomfortable.
Not because he disliked it.
Because he liked it more than he should.
After a while, Laila left with a smile, wishing them goodnight before disappearing into the rain-dim corridor.
---
Night deepened.
Rain intensified.
The sound of water hitting the balcony grills became constant.
Dinner ended quietly.
Hasini eventually fell asleep beside her collegebooks after refusing to move to bed.
Shruthi carried her carefully into the bedroom.
And sometime later, while the storm continued outside, Shruthi walked toward Lokesh with a bottle in her hand.
“Magic Moments?” she asked with a tired smile.
Lokesh looked surprised.
“You serious?”
“Tonight… yes.”
He noticed something different in her face.
Not excitement.
Not celebration.
Just emotional exhaustion searching for comfort.
---
Lokesh himself didn’t drink much.
Barely enough to accompany her.
He remained mostly sober.
Shruthi, however, slowly became softer with each glass.
Not loud.
Not careless.
Just honest in the way emotionally tired people become after lowering their guard.
The rain outside somehow made the silence easier.
For a long time, both simply sat near the balcony listening to thunder rolling somewhere far away across Chennai.
Then Shruthi finally spoke.
“You know something?” she said quietly.
“Hm?”
“We became routine.”
Lokesh looked at her.
She continued staring outside.
“Everything between us became scheduled. Wake up. Work. Child. Sleep. Repeat.”
Her voice carried no anger.
That made it harder to hear.
“There’s no excitement anymore, Loka.”
He remained silent.
“And even physically…” she hesitated before speaking again, “…I don’t feel wanted anymore.”
That sentence hit him harder than expected.
The rain kept falling.
“You don’t even look at me the same way now,” she whispered.
Lokesh immediately tried to respond.
“It’s not like that—”
“But it is.”
She finally turned toward him.
Eyes slightly red from alcohol, exhaustion, and emotions she had suppressed too long.
“I know life changes after marriage. I know responsibilities come. But sometimes I feel like we stopped being husband and wife somewhere in between.”
Her honesty made him uncomfortable because a part of him knew she wasn’t entirely wrong.
And the guilt inside him grew sharper remembering how emotionally distracted he himself had become recently.
---
Maybe because of the rain.
Maybe because both of them desperately missed feeling close again.
Or maybe because storms make people temporarily vulnerable.
But sometime past midnight, Shruthi suddenly smiled faintly and asked,
“Will you take me for a drive?”
Lokesh blinked.
“In this rain?”
“Yes.”
“You’re drunk.”
“I’m emotional,” she corrected softly.
That made him laugh for the first time that night.
---
Hasini remained asleep safely inside Laila’s apartment for the night after the power fluctuated again in their building.
Laila had insisted she would watch her.
Shruthi agreed without thinking much about it.
And sometime later, Lokesh took the car keys while heavy rain continued flooding the streets outside.
He himself was not drunk.
Careful.
Controlled.
Responsible enough to drive.
The roads were almost empty except for water reflections beneath streetlights and occasional bikes cutting through rain mist.
Inside the car, old melodies played softly at low volume.
Shruthi rested her head against the window first.
Then eventually against his shoulder when they stopped near the empty beach road.
Neither spoke much.
For the first time in months, silence between them did not feel distant.
It felt peaceful.
And sometime near dawn, after returning home through rain-soaked streets and sleeping city lights, they held each other quietly in bed.
No grand passion.
No dramatic promises.
Just two tired people trying to remember the version of themselves they had almost lost somewhere between responsibility and routine.
Outside, Chennai’s monsoon continued pouring endlessly through the night.
And somewhere else in the same rain-covered city—
other emotions were still waiting to become storms of their own.

Chapter 51 — Flooded Roads
The cyclone warnings became worse by evening.
Rain hammered Chennai without pause.
Several roads near Velachery and Taramani were already under water, and office employees crowded building entrances waiting for traffic updates before attempting to leave.
Shruthi, however, managed to leave earlier.
Hasini’s college was close to her office area, making it easier for her to reach despite the weather.
Lokesh wasn’t as lucky.
His office route was trapped in complete traffic collapse.
Vehicles stood unmoving for nearly an hour as floodwater rose near the junction ahead.
He tried repeatedly to find alternate routes.
Nothing worked.
By then, the cultural program had already started.
“You go,” he told Shruthi over a broken phone call. “At least one of us should be there.”
The signal cut twice before she finally heard him properly.
“You sure?”
“Yeah. I’ll try if traffic clears.”
But both already knew it wouldn’t.
---
The college auditorium glowed brightly against the storm outside.
Children rushed around backstage in costumes while teachers shouted instructions over microphone feedback and generator noise.
Hasini spotted Shruthi entering and immediately smiled in relief.
“You came!”
“Of course I came,” Shruthi replied, hugging her tightly.
Still, there was disappointment hidden beneath the excitement.
“Appa?”
“Traffic,” Shruthi answered gently. “He’s trying.”
Hasini nodded, pretending understanding beyond her age.
---
Meanwhile, Lokesh finally gave up after another hour stuck near office roads flooded beyond movement.
Exhausted and irritated, he returned to the apartment much later than expected.
The corridor outside felt unusually silent because most residents were still stranded elsewhere in the rain.
When he opened the apartment door, he found Laila inside.
She had come earlier to check whether anyone needed help because of the power fluctuations in the building.
“You still didn’t go?” she asked softly.
“Impossible,” he muttered tiredly while removing his wet shoes. “Entire city is floating.”
Laila handed him a towel silently.
The apartment lights flickered once from unstable current outside.
Thunder echoed through the building.
And slowly, the silence between them became heavier than either wanted to admit.
---
At first, it was harmless.
Conversation.
Shared frustration.
Rain.
Loneliness.
The dangerous comfort they had already been trying to ignore for weeks.
Then came the pauses.
The prolonged eye contact.
The emotional exhaustion lowering boundaries neither of them had fully protected anymore.
“You look completely drained,” Laila whispered.
Lokesh laughed tiredly. “I am.”
She stepped closer instinctively.
Too close.
And neither moved away.
The first touch was small.
Her hand against his wrist.
His fingers brushing hers.
But emotions that stay suppressed too long rarely remain small for long.
Soon the distance between them disappeared entirely.
The kiss happened suddenly yet felt inevitable.
Not aggressive.
Not careless.
Just emotionally reckless in the way lonely people sometimes become when comfort turns intimate.
Outside, rain battered the windows relentlessly while inside the apartment, guilt and desire blurred together dangerously.
They held each other tightly, almost as though both already knew they were crossing a line impossible to fully undo afterward.
Time disappeared.
So did caution.
---
At the college function, Shruthi stayed back longer afterward because parents and staff arranged an informal dinner nearby once the performances ended.
Teachers insisted everyone wait until rain became lighter before leaving.
Hasini happily stayed with her friends while Shruthi repeatedly attempted calling Lokesh.
Most calls failed.
Some disconnected instantly.
Network towers were unstable from the cyclone weather.
She assumed he was still trapped somewhere in traffic.
---
By the time Shruthi finally reached the apartment late that night, exhaustion had replaced irritation.
She unlocked the door quietly.
And immediately sensed something wrong.
Not obvious.
Not dramatic.
But wrong.
Laila and Lokesh were sitting apart now.
Too carefully apart.
Both looked unusually tense.
Flustered.
Their expressions carried the awkward stillness of people interrupted emotionally before fully recovering themselves.
Lokesh’s shirt was slightly wrinkled and half untucked.
Laila’s hair looked hurriedly adjusted.
Even the atmosphere inside the apartment felt strangely heavy.
Shruthi paused near the doorway silently.
For one brief second, nobody spoke.
Then Laila stood quickly.
“You finally came,” she said, voice almost too normal.
“Rain was horrible,” Shruthi replied slowly.
Her eyes moved once toward Lokesh.
Then toward Laila.
Tiny observations began settling quietly into her mind.
Not evidence.
Not certainty.
Just instinct.
And instinct is often more dangerous than proof.
---
Hasini came running from the bedroom excitedly showing videos from the cultural program.
The moment temporarily broke the tension.
Everyone smiled.
Everyone behaved normally.
But beneath all of it, something had already shifted irreversibly.
Because now, for the first time—
Shruthi had started noticing.

Chapter 52 — Sleepless Rain
That night, Shruthi did not sleep.
Not even for a moment.
Rain continued outside without pause, tapping against the balcony grills like restless thoughts refusing silence.
Beside her, Lokesh pretended to sleep.
Or maybe actually slept out of emotional exhaustion.
She could not tell anymore.
Every time she closed her eyes, the same images returned.
Laila’s flustered expression.
Lokesh avoiding eye contact for those first few seconds.
Their clothes.
The tension in the room before she entered.
None of it proved anything.
Yet together, it created something worse than proof.
Suspicion.
And once suspicion enters a marriage, even silence begins sounding dishonest.
---
Shruthi turned slowly toward Lokesh in the darkness.
For years, this man had been her safest place.
Now, for the first time, she felt distance even while lying inches away from him.
Her chest tightened painfully.
Not only because she feared betrayal.
But because somewhere deep inside, she already knew emotionally something had changed between them long before tonight.
Maybe that was why this hurt more.
Because the signs now made sense.
The distraction.
The emotional absence.
The way he sometimes smiled unknowingly while looking at his phone.
The way Laila had slowly become part of their daily life without either of them noticing when exactly the boundaries blurred.
And the worst part?
Shruthi could no longer confidently tell herself she was imagining everything.
---
By early morning, anger finally replaced confusion.
Not loud anger.
Not dramatic confrontation.
A colder emotion.
The kind that silently changes how a person sees relationships forever.
She sat alone near the balcony watching flooded roads below the apartment while one unbearable thought repeated inside her mind:
“If something really happened between them… then what exactly is left of this marriage?”
The thought terrified her immediately afterward.
Because despite everything, she still loved Lokesh.
That was the painful truth.
Love does not disappear the moment trust cracks.
Sometimes it remains alive long enough to suffer through every fracture.
---
And somewhere else inside her mind, another dangerous realization slowly formed.
Loneliness had made her vulnerable too.
Emotionally.
Physically.
She remembered Karthik.
His attention.
His confidence.
The way he looked at her like she still mattered beyond routine and responsibility.
Until recently, she had resisted that emotional pull carefully.
Now, however, something inside her had weakened.
Not because she suddenly stopped caring about morality.
But because hurt people often become vulnerable to comfort from the wrong places.
And for the first time, Shruthi stopped fighting that realization completely.
---
The next day at office, rain still flooded half the city.
Employees moved slowly through wet corridors carrying coffee cups and complaints about traffic.
Karthik noticed Shruthi immediately.
Something about her expression had changed overnight.
Less hesitation.
More emotional exhaustion.
He approached carefully near the pantry area.
“You okay?” he asked softly.
Usually she would have avoided the conversation.
Today she didn’t.
“Tired,” she replied honestly.
That single honest answer encouraged him more than expected.
---
Later during lunch break, they sat together longer than usual.
Conversation flowed naturally.
Work stress.
Marriage.
Loneliness hidden inside adulthood.
The subjects became increasingly personal without either acknowledging how dangerous that itself was becoming.
And this time, Shruthi did not pull away emotionally.
Not entirely.
Karthik noticed every small difference.
The longer eye contact.
The softer replies.
The emotional openness replacing caution.
To him, it felt like progress.
To Shruthi, it felt like emotional surrender she no longer had energy to resist fully.
---
That evening, while rain clouds darkened Chennai again, Karthik drove her back after work because app-based taxis were unavailable due to flooding in several areas.
Inside the car, silence carried tension again.
Not uncomfortable.
Anticipatory.
When the vehicle finally stopped near her apartment, neither moved immediately.
Karthik looked at her quietly.
“You’ve been unhappy for a long time, haven’t you?” he asked.
That question broke something inside her defenses.
Shruthi looked away toward the rain-covered streets outside.
And slowly, without realizing it completely herself, she nodded.
The silence after that answer changed everything between them.
Because now, for the first time—
both of them understood this was no longer harmless emotional closeness.

Chapter 53- The wet saree
The next morning was completely silent.
It wasn't because they were fighting. It was because nobody knew how to act normal anymore. Shruthi barely spoke to Lokesh.
She only said what was strictly necessary about their daughter. No screaming, no fighting. Just cold distance. And that hurt Lokesh much more than an argument.
Her disappointment made the whole apartment feel freezing, even though it was hot and rainy outside.
Lokesh felt her avoiding him every single second. But underneath his guilt, a dangerous, burning frustration was growing inside him.
Across the hall, Laila stayed locked in her apartment all day.
She couldn't stop thinking about what had happened the night before. She could still feel his body pressed against hers, the heat of his mouth, and the tight grip of his hands on her hips right before they were interrupted.
She knew they had crossed a line long ago.
But now, she wanted him physically. It was a real, aching hunger. She shivered as she realized something terrifying: if his wife had walked in ten minutes later, they wouldn't have stopped.
He would have taken her right there against the wall, and she would have let him. The thought scared her, but it also left a deep, throbbing ache inside her.
By the next afternoon, they couldn't stay apart any longer.
They ran into each other in the dimly lit hallway.
They didn't just look at each other—they stared. The silence between them was thick and heavy with desire.
Neither said a word about the kiss, but Lokesh looked down at her lips with pure hunger, making Laila’s breath hitch.
Slowly, they started talking again. But every normal conversation felt like a secret code. Talking about the hot weather felt like admitting how much they were burning for each other.
Standing close to listen to a whisper became an excuse to touch. The secret they shared didn't separate them; it glued them together, cutting them off from the rest of the world.
The tension grew unbearable in just a matter of hours. A simple touch of their hands while passing an object felt like fire, leaving them both breathless and wanting more.
That very evening, a massive storm hit Chennai.
Laila sent him a message: "Stuck outside. Drenched. Haven’t eaten."
Lokesh’s heart raced. In that moment, he didn't think about his wife or his vows. He was guided by pure, raw desire. He typed back instantly:
"Come to me. Let’s go somewhere nearby."
They found a tiny, dark restaurant hidden away from the storm. Outside, the rain poured violently against the windows. Inside, they were completely alone in the shadows.
The polite act they had been putting on completely melted. Sitting across from her, Lokesh couldn't take his eyes off the wet fabric of her clothes clinging to her skin.
Her hair was damp, and her eyes were dark with hunger.
They shared food, their fingers brushing against each other on purpose, sending electric shocks straight through their bodies.
Every whisper felt like a breathless confession. They weren't just close anymore—their bodies were begging for each other.
On the walk back, the heavy rain turned into a warm, humid drizzle. The parking lot was pitch black, wet, and completely empty.
Laila slipped on the wet ground. Lokesh didn't just catch her—he pulled her fiercely against his chest.
She gasped as her body pressed tightly against his hard chest. Neither of them moved. The heat radiating between them was intense.
Lokesh’s large hand gripped her waist tightly, his fingers digging into her skin, while his other hand tangled in her wet hair, tilting her face up to his.
She looked up at him with total surrender. Her lips were parted, wet with rain, breathing him in. Instead of pulling away, Laila wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, holding on for dear life.
Lokesh let out a low groan and pulled her so close that there was absolutely no space left between them.
It was a desperate, bruising embrace. Weeks of holding back exploded into a fierce need to hold each other.
He buried his face in her warm, wet neck, his lips brushing against her skin, making her shiver violently in the rain.
Inside that tight, breathless hug, the truth was out. This wasn't a mistake or a game. They were completely consumed by each other, and there was no turning back.

Chapter 54 — Unspoken Gravity
The rain had not stopped all day.
It lashed against the floor-to-ceiling glass windows of the deserted upper-floor corridor, blurring the city outside into a smear of neon and shifting shadows.
The world beyond was drowning, but inside, the air had grown thick, suffocatingly hot, and heavy with a tension that had finally reached its breaking point.
Shruthi stood near the glass, her breath misting the pane. She was done lying to herself. She wasn’t waiting for the rain to stop. She was waiting for him.
The moment Karthik’s reflection materialized behind her in the dark glass, a shiver rippled down her spine.
She didn’t move away. Instead, she leaned back just a fraction, her body instinctively seeking the heat radiating from his chest.
The time for hesitation was over.
“You didn’t go for lunch,” Karthik said.
His voice was a low, gravelly vibration that brushed against the sensitive skin of her neck, sending a sharp spike of heat straight to her core.
Shruthi didn’t look at the rain anymore.
She tracked his reflection, her eyes dark, her chest rising and falling in a shallow, erratic rhythm.
“I wasn’t hungry.”
A heavy, deliberate pause stretched between them.
Then, the rustle of fabric as he stepped closer.
The ambient heat of his body invaded her space, melting away the last remnants of her professional armor.
“That’s not true,” he murmured. His tone was a soft stroke of certainty, heavy with the knowledge of exactly what she was actually starving for
She turned slowly, her back scbanging against the glass, completely exposing herself to him.
Their eyes met. And this time, the unspoken barrier between them shattered. Her gaze dropped instantly to his mouth, heavy and lingering, before rising back to meet his with an unmistakable, raw intensity.
The time for quiet conversations was gone; an irreversible, simmering hunger had taken over.
Karthik leaned lightly against the wall beside her, his large frame crowding her in. He wasn’t touching her yet, but the mere inches of empty air between them felt alive, thick with static.
Every time he took a breath, she felt the subtle expansion of his chest against her own.
The scent of him—rain, cedar, and warm, clean skin—flooded her senses, making her knees weak.
“You’ve been avoiding me,” he said, his gaze dropping to the exposed skin of her collarbone, tracing the rapid pulse fluttering there.
“I’m tired of thinking,” Shruthi whispered, her voice rough, stripped of all restraint..
His eyes snapped back to hers, darkening with sudden intensity. “That sounds dangerous.”
A breathless, heavy smile touched her lips as she took a half-step closer, eliminating the space between them. “It is.”
Silence settled again, but it was no longer empty. It was thick with a mutual surrender. The corporate facade was entirely gone, replaced by a reckless, aching need that neither could contain any longer.
Shruthi’s fingers loosened around the window frame. She didn’t need an anchor anymore. Instead, her hand moved forward, her fingertips brushing against the fabric of his jacket, a deliberate invitation.
Karthik noticed. His breath hitched, his eyes tracking the movement of her hand before locking onto her face with a fierce, possessive hunger.
“You look tired,” he said, his voice dropping an octave, rough and thick with desire.
Shruthi exhaled slowly, her chest brushing against his with the movement. “I am.”
She tilted her face up, her lips parting slightly, her eyes locking onto his with an open, desperate ache.
“Fix it,” she whispered.
That single command hung between them, heavy and explicit. Karthik didn’t interrupt it.
He let it breathe, his gaze anchoring her in place until she felt completely consumed by the heat radiating between them.
There was no more instinct to survive, no more thought of consequence. Shruthi didn’t want distance; she wanted to drown.
She leaned in, her forehead resting for a fraction of a second against his chest, feeling the frantic, heavy thud of his heart.
The hesitation had evaporated entirely, replaced by a heavy, intoxicating need that demanded to be met right here, in the shadows of the empty corridor.
“You shouldn’t be looking at me like that,” he said, though his hand finally came up, his long fingers hovering just a millimeter away from her jawline, trembling slightly with the effort of his restraint.
Shruthi closed the distance herself, tilting her chin up, pressing her jaw into his warm palm. She let out a soft, shuddering sigh at the contact. “Then stop me.”
“I can’t,” his answer came as a ragged whisper.
“Good.”
She took his wrist, her grip tight, and pulled his hand downward, pressing it firmly against the small of her back.
The sudden, forceful contact arched her spine, pulling her pelvis flush against his. A low, involuntary gasp escaped her lips as she felt the hard, rigid length of his desire pressed tightly against her.
The rain outside became a deafening roar, swallowing the rest of the world, leaving only the urgent, frantic heat of their bodies.
For a breathless moment, neither spoke, but the surrender was absolute. The restraint broke.
Shruthi’s hands tangled into his hair, pulling him down, her lips brushing against his jaw, his neck, seeking his mouth with a desperate, unyielding hunger.
She didn't want to walk away. She wanted him, right now, against the glass, indifferent to who might find them.
“Karthik,” she breathed against his skin, her voice a ragged plea that broke the last thread of his control.
He didn't let her step back. His grip tightened on her waist, lifting her slightly, pressing her firmly against the cool glass window as his mouth finally slammed down onto hers, ruthless and filled with a shared, desperate need.
