Chapter 40: The Last Normal Evening
I did not tell Poroma what was coming. I went home that Friday and I sat at the dinner table with my family exactly as I had every evening for eight years and I let everything be normal for the last time. The Aya had made fish curry and rice. Nupur had been at college and had opinions about seventeen different things that had happened there, delivered in her characteristic rapid fire style that required nodding and occasional sounds of agreement rather than actual responses. Rajiv was in his high chair with fish dal on his tray and in his hair and on one ear and making exploratory sounds about the physics of food dropping. Poroma was lighter than she had been in months. The confession had loosened something in her. She believed we were finding our way back to each other. She touched my hand twice during dinner. She helped Nupur with the stubborn fish bones in her portion. She fed Rajiv his last few spoonfuls with patient coaxing. I watched her. I thought about the girl I had met at twenty two at Presidency College who had looked at me from across the corridor with those impossible ice blue eyes and smiled like she had already decided something about me. The girl who had told her Navy officer father that she was going to marry a middle class boy from Behala regardless of his opinion and had meant every word of it. The woman who had carried two babies and breastfed both and managed a household and been the most constant and certain thing in my life for a decade. And I thought about the nanny cam footage. Nupur's face after the slap. The quiet automatic way Poroma had walked away from her crying child to go straighten her blouse. Those two images could not coexist with each other in the same marriage. After dinner I put both children to bed myself. I read Nupur the mongoose chapter she had been waiting for. She fell asleep before the cobra got his just punishment and I tucked the book under the pillow so she would find it in the morning. I sat with Rajiv in the dim light of his room with his small sleeping weight against my arm until I was certain he was down for the night. I stood in the hallway between their two rooms for a long time. Then I went to the spare room and locked the door and lay in the dark and waited for Monday.

Chapter 41: The Papers Are Served
The process server arrived at nine fifteen on Monday morning. I was already in the office. I had left at seven thirty, earlier than usual, without explanation. Poroma was at the kitchen table feeding Rajiv his morning porridge when the knock came. She would have been expecting the vegetable vendor. I know this is how it happened because the Aya told me the details that evening, quietly, in the kitchen after the children were asleep. Poroma took the envelope. Looked at it. Turned it over. Looked at her name on the front in typed official lettering. Sat down on the kitchen chair very slowly while Rajiv continued to address his porridge. She opened it there at the kitchen table and read the entire document without moving. Then she put it on the table and sat looking at it. The Aya found her there twenty minutes later. Poroma had not moved. Rajiv had overturned his bowl and was peacefully redistributing the porridge across the high chair tray. Poroma called me eleven times between nine thirty and ten fifteen. I did not pick up a single call. At ten sixteen I sent one message. *Speak to a lawyer. Not to me.* She called Rahul next. He did not pick up. He was in a closed conference room with the company's internal audit committee and his phone was face down on the table in front of him while two people he had never expected to see in the same room went through his expenses account line by line.

First of all a big thank you to you for continuing this story.
We readers are earnestly waiting to see the climax of the story. We are eagerly waiting to see this whore being taught the lesson of her lifetime. I hope this whore ends up in living hell.
And that pervert, son of a bitch, Rahul needs to be face dire consequences too. If I was the writer I would have gouged his eyes, by which he looks at other married women with a predatory gaze, out of the eye sockets and even had him emasculated and turned him to an eunuch.

First of all it is the mistake of Ranjeet to agree to poroma to open her legs to Rahul whenever he is out of town for the benefit of his job. He does not deserve her.

It's glad to see you making a great fan fiction inching towards its climax. The original story was written by some foreign author. Then 16-17 years back stranger_women wrote a story named "Sex Game" on the same plot in English. He later on went ahead and wrote down the Bengali version of his own story "Sex Game" as "Poromar Porajoy" with some cosmetic changes from the English version, around the same time period. The literal translation of the phrase "Poromar Porajoy" is "Defeat of Poroma". All these were old exbii/xossip days.
Here in xossipy Realman12 started few years back "Defeat of Poroma" based on stranger_women's "Poromar Porajoy" as a fan fiction. However, Realman12 not only inducted events from "Poromar Porajoy", he also included many encounters from stranger_women's another famous story "heyror dairy" (dairy of a loser) written in Bengali. Thus he blended stranger_women's two very popular stories into one. However, he did not bring that to the finishing line. It's great that you have been going pretty good to complete this incomplete fan fiction in your own way. I would like to suggest, you keep on doing the good work the way you have done till now and the way you wanted to finish it. Don't listen to any one. Some persons in our Bengali sub forum created too much nuisance in some of the very popular threads. It's wise to ignore these elements. Best wishes. Eagerly waiting for the next episode. Bdw, is Sheesh Mahal your original work?

Poroma can now blackmail and threaten her husband that if he divorce her, she will make his life hell. He will lose his job and he cannot find any new job. Also, she will tell all the family members that he is impotent and cannot satisfy a woman and he can never marry thereafter.

He deserves better.
