Chapter 1 – "The Birthday Spark"

The clock on the wall ticked past midnight, the house quiet after the whirlwind of Laddoo's 18th birthday celebrations. Streamers still hung lazily from the ceiling, and the faint scent of cake lingered in the air. But sleep was the last thing on Laddoo's mind. Her heart raced with a mix of excitement and nervousness, feelings she'd been nurturing in secret for nearly a year now. Papa—her strong, dependable papa—had always been her world, but lately, he'd become something more. The way his eyes lit up when she laughed, the accidental brushes of his hand against hers... it all fueled this forbidden spark inside her.

She slipped out of her room, her bare feet padding softly on the cool floor. Wearing just her favorite oversized t-shirt that barely skimmed her thighs—the one she'd "accidentally" borrowed from his closet—she tiptoed to his door. It was ajar, a sliver of light spilling out. Peeking in, she saw him sitting on the edge of his bed, scrolling through his phone, his shirt unbuttoned at the top, looking tired but handsome in that effortless way dads do after a long day.

"Papa?" she whispered, pushing the door open a little wider, her voice sweet and innocent, but with that teasing lilt she knew drove him crazy.

He looked up, startled, his eyes widening just a fraction as they landed on her. God, she had grown up so fast. That t-shirt... it hugged her curves in ways he tried not to notice, her legs long and smooth in the dim light. But no—he shook the thought away. She was his little girl, his Laddoo, the one who'd curl up in his lap for stories not so long ago. "Hey, beta. Can't sleep? The party's over, you should rest. Big day tomorrow—adulthood awaits." He smiled warmly, patting the bed beside him, trying to keep it casual.
