Scene: Priya’s Bedroom – The Quiet of the Night
Priya stood up from the couch and walked toward the bedroom, murmuring that she was going to get changed.
The words left her lips easily, practiced, wrapped in the casual rhythm of routine. She didn’t look back as she said them. That single movement left Amit alone on the couch, his attention still fixed on the television, the glow of the screen reflecting faintly off his face.
The sound of the show continued uninterrupted, laughter canned and distant, unaware that something delicate had already fractured.
Ravi had already gone to his bedroom to sleep.
At least, that was what she told herself. Yet even as she walked away, his presence felt anything but gone. It followed her down the hallway, clung to the air, settled somewhere beneath her skin like a warmth that refused to fade.
Each step toward the bedroom felt heavier than the last. Her body moved forward, but her thoughts lagged behind, caught in a moment that replayed itself again and again without mercy.
Their bedroom was cloaked in the quiet hush of the night, the faint amber glow of the bedside lamp casting soft, elongated shadows across the walls.
The room was familiar, intimately so, filled with the quiet evidence of shared years: folded clothes, framed photographs, the subtle scent of Amit’s soap lingering in the air. Yet tonight, the room felt altered, as though it were watching her, waiting.
Priya stood before the mirror, her reflection staring back at her with unsettling clarity.
She recognized the face, the shape of her body, the tired softness around her eyes, but something felt off, displaced, as if the woman in the mirror had shifted slightly out of alignment with the life she was living.
Her fingers trembled as she tugged the drawer open. The sound felt too loud in the silence, sharp and intrusive. The cool air brushed against her skin as she reached for the nightgown, a soft silk fabric she had worn countless nights before. It was safe. Familiar. Unremarkable.
And yet…
Tonight felt different. Everything felt different.
She hesitated, nightgown in hand, her gaze drifting back to her reflection.
“Why does everything feel wrong? Why do I feel so… empty?”
The question echoed in her chest, unanswered.

She changed slowly, deliberately, as though moving too fast might cause everything she was holding back to collapse at once.
Each small action, slipping out of her clothes, smoothing the fabric of the nightgown over her skin, felt weighted with meaning. But no matter how careful she was, the memory of the kiss clung to her, vivid and relentless.
Ravi’s lips.
The warmth of his embrace.
The way her body had responded before her mind had time to stop it.
“It was just a kiss, Priya. Just one kiss. It doesn’t change anything.”
She repeated the words silently, clinging to them like a lifeline. But even as she said them, they sounded thin, fragile, like a story she was telling herself to survive the night.
“It doesn’t change anything,” she insisted again.
Yet her heart knew better.
As she pulled the nightgown over her head, her fingers drifted to her neck without conscious thought. She touched the place where Ravi’s lips had been, grazing the skin gently, as though she could wipe the memory away with touch alone.
Her breath hitched.
The sensation was still there, faint but unmistakable.
“I shouldn’t be thinking about him.”
She let her hand fall, fingers curling into the silk at her side as if ashamed of their betrayal.
The soft creak of the bedroom door broke the silence.
Amit stepped into the room, his silhouette framed by the dim hallway light. For a moment, he stood there quietly, just watching her. His presence had always been solid, grounding, the kind of certainty she had built her life around brick by brick.
Tonight, though, it felt distant.
Not because of him.
But because something inside her had shifted beyond reach.
She turned to face him, collegeing her expression into something that resembled normal. She forced a smile, though it sat awkwardly on her face, unsupported by her heart.
Amit’s eyes softened as he looked at her, taking her in with quiet appreciation, familiarity, affection. There was love there, real, unguarded.
“Hey,” he said, his voice warm, though there was a subtle pause beneath it. A hesitation he hadn’t meant to show.
“You okay?”
Priya nodded, but the movement felt stiff, rehearsed, as though she had practiced it in her head.
“Yeah. Just tired.”
The lie slipped out easily.
Too easily.
“How could I lie to him like this?”
The question burned inside her chest, sharp and immediate.

Amit didn’t question her further. Instead, he stepped toward her, closing the space between them with the ease of habit, of intimacy shaped by years of shared routines. His hand reached for her arm. The touch was familiar, loving.
And yet tonight, it felt different.
Not wrong.
But intrusive, like it crossed into a part of her that no longer felt entirely his.
He gently turned her toward him, his hand settling at her waist, thumb pressing lightly as if to anchor her there.
“Come here,” he murmured, his voice low and soothing.
Priya let herself be pulled closer. Her body responded automatically, guided by memory, by muscle, by the countless times she had stood like this before. But her mind drifted, slipping away despite her efforts.
Lost in the ghost of Ravi’s kiss.
In the way that single moment had burned itself into her awareness.
Amit’s hands were warm. Steady. Familiar.
They should have been enough.
They weren’t.
When Amit’s lips brushed the side of her neck, just below her ear, Priya’s body tensed before she could stop it. She felt the heat of his breath against her skin, felt the tenderness in the gesture.
And yet…
Her thoughts spiraled instantly, uncontrollably.
“Ravi’s lips were here.”
The comparison came without mercy. She couldn’t stop herself from remembering how it had felt when Ravi kissed her there, not tentative, not cautious.
Deliberate. Certain.
Amit’s kiss was gentle. Tender.
A sensation shaped by familiarity.
Ravi’s had been…
“Stronger. More insistent. Like he needed to be closer. Like he couldn’t hold back.”
Amit kissed her neck again, lingering softly. But all Priya could feel was the pulse of Ravi’s lips, the way he had stayed there, as though reluctant to let go.
That kiss had felt like a promise.
Dangerous. Forbidden.
“Why am I comparing the two?”
“Why can’t I just feel this moment with Amit?”
She closed her eyes, trying to ground herself, trying to stay present. She focused on Amit’s breath, his warmth, the familiar rhythm of him.
His lips moved to the curve of her jaw, slow and affectionate, a kiss shaped by years of shared life.
And still…
“Ravi kissed me here too.”
“But his kiss was hungry.”
“His lips were firmer.”
“He didn’t pull back.”
“He wanted more.”
Her breath grew shallow, heat blooming in her chest, a response she didn’t want, didn’t welcome, didn’t understand.
“Why am I even thinking of him?”
“Amit is my husband.”
“Amit should be the one who makes me feel this way.”

Reality is different from imagination though Priya is bonded with Amit the real Kiss is from Ravi which makes her happy. Always relationship bond is the one thing that hurdles many women like Priya sacrificing their real happiness and liking. Though Amit may be her husband and seems to take responsibility but the true attraction lies towards Ravi who always thinks about her and moves around her.
Next what is going to happen eagerly waiting for the next move.

Amit continued, unaware of the storm unraveling inside her. His lips brushed gently against her cheek, and her skin tingled from the softness of it. It should have felt comforting.
It should have felt like home.
Instead…
“Amit’s kiss is soft. Warm. A sign of affection.”
“But Ravi’s kiss…”
“His lips were insistent.”
“Hungry.”
“When Ravi kissed me on the cheek, it wasn’t just a kiss.”
“It was an invitation.”
Her pulse raced. Her body ached with a confusion she had never known before.
She could feel it again, Ravi’s kiss on her cheek, the faint taste of him still lingering on her skin, as if he were standing right there.
“What is wrong with me?”
“Why do I feel this way?”
Her breath came shallow now, uneven. The very thought of Ravi made her body respond in ways she couldn’t explain.
Amit kissed her lips softly, pulling her closer. His hand slid to the back of her neck, the gesture tender, familiar, deeply intimate. But the moment his lips touched hers, the comparison returned, sharp and unavoidable.
“Amit’s kiss is warm.”
“Soft.”
“The kind of kiss that comes from years of shared life.”
“Of comfort.”
And then…
“But Ravi’s kiss…”
“It was urgent.”
“Filled with desire.”
“With something I can’t deny.”
Amit kissed her again, pressing a little more firmly now, but it was no use. The memories overwhelmed her senses, vivid and invasive.
She could almost feel Ravi’s lips again.
The way his kiss had deepened so quickly.
So naturally.
As if they were meant to fit together in a way she had never thought possible.
Priya’s hands curled against Amit’s chest, fingers gripping his shirt as though holding on might ground her.
“I shouldn’t be thinking about him.”
“Why am I thinking about Ravi now?”
“Why is this so hard?”
She tried to push the thoughts away, but the contrast was unbearable, Amit’s tenderness set against Ravi’s urgency.
“Why does it feel so easy with him?”
“Why does it feel like I belong there…”
“…and not here?”
The kiss ended.
The silence between them stretched, thick and heavy with everything left unsaid. Priya opened her eyes, guilt crashing over her in a sharp, suffocating wave.
Amit searched her face now, concern etched deeply into his brow.
“What’s wrong, Priya?”
She shook her head quickly, her heart pounding, afraid that if she spoke, everything would spill out.
“I can’t do this.”
“I can’t keep pretending.”
“I’m fine, Amit,” she whispered, the lie tasting bitter on her tongue. She reached for his hand, her fingers trembling.
“But it’s not the same. Nothing feels the same anymore.”
Amit smiled softly and pressed his forehead against hers, an intimate, trusting gesture.
Priya felt a million miles away.
Her body was here, with her husband, in their bedroom.
But her mind…
Her mind was with Ravi.
And no matter how tightly she closed her eyes, it would not let her go.

Scene: Priya’s Bedroom – The Night Grows Deeper
The soft hum of the night continued, the only sound the rhythmic beat of Priya’s heart, which seemed to echo louder with each passing moment.
She stood there, trapped in the space between her husband’s touch and the memory of a kiss she couldn’t shake, feeling as though the walls themselves were closing in on her.
Amit pulled her closer, his hands gentle yet persistent. His warmth enveloped her, grounding her, or at least trying to. She felt his presence, his chest brushing against hers, his lips lightly grazing her forehead.
His kiss, soft and tender, should have brought her comfort. Yet it felt like a distant echo of what she truly wanted, a dull thud in her chest compared to the fire that still burned from the brief moment with Ravi.
"Focus, Priya. Just be here. Just be present with Amit," she told herself, "but it’s like trying to hold onto sand slipping through my fingers." Her body responded to Amit’s touch automatically, but her mind… her mind was still somewhere else, spiraling in the memory of Ravi’s lips, his hands, the heat that had set her skin on fire.
Amit’s lips lingered on her skin for a moment before he pulled back slightly, studying her face with an unreadable expression. His fingers traced the line of her jaw, slowly, as though he were trying to pull her back into the present.
"You’re so distant tonight," he murmured, his voice filled with a tenderness that almost broke her. "What’s going on, Priya?"
Her heart ached at the concern in his eyes. "He doesn’t know. He doesn’t know anything. He doesn’t know that I’m here, but I’m also not here. I’m torn in two."
Priya swallowed hard, trying to keep her voice steady. "I’m fine, Amit. Just… tired." She hoped the excuse would be enough, but the weight of the words felt hollow, like a lie wrapped in tenderness.
Amit didn’t push her further, but his hands did, always so familiar, so steady, sliding down her arms, pulling her in closer still. His lips sought hers luscious lips again, this time with more intent, his breath warm against her skin.
Her pulse quickened. But as his lips neared hers, the memory of Ravi’s kiss was there, right in the back of her mind, a shadow she couldn’t outrun.

Hi Strangerstf
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback, it really means a lot to me! I’m so glad the way I depicted Priya’s inner thoughts and comparisons resonated with you. That’s exactly what I was aiming for.
In this particular moment, I wanted to capture the complex and sometimes conflicting emotions that can arise in a person’s mind, especially when they’re caught in a whirlwind of thoughts and feelings. Priya, in that scene, is experiencing such intense emotions due to everything that’s unfolded throughout the day. She's physically with her husband, Amit, yet emotionally her mind is elsewhere, with Ravi, tangled up in the impact of the events she's gone through.
I think sometimes, when we’re deep in our own thoughts, we can feel pulled in different directions, especially in emotionally charged moments like romance. So when Amit, still unaware of the turmoil she's going through, gets closer to her, I wanted to explore that contrast, her physical presence with him, but her mind occupied elsewhere, torn between loyalty, desire, and the lingering effects of everything that’s happened.
It’s always a challenge to capture such complex emotional moments, but it’s also what I love about storytelling. I really appreciate you picking up on that layer, it’s so encouraging to know that it’s being felt the way I hoped.
As always, I’m so grateful for your continued support! You’ve been such a consistent and positive presence in my writing journey, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon. Your feedback keeps me inspired and motivated to push deeper into the characters and the emotions I’m trying to portray.
I will be pushing more updates soon. Please stay tuned, and thanks again for being so awesome.
With warm regards

Amit’s lips met hers, soft at first, but as the kiss deepened, Priya felt a strange distance between them, like a chasm widening with every second. Amit’s kiss was tender, passionate, but it felt… controlled.
"Why does this feel so… calculated? Why is it so safe? Too safe?"
Her lips parted slightly, responding out of instinct, but she couldn’t stop herself from comparing.
"When Ravi kissed me, it was all instinct. It was unrestrained, fiery, almost reckless. His lips weren’t soft, they were desperate. They made me feel like I couldn’t breathe, like I was drowning in him, and I wanted it."
Amit kissed her again, more urgently this time, but Priya’s heart was somewhere else.
"I’m kissing him, I’m kissing Amit, but it’s like I’m kissing Ravi."
The realization hit her like a bolt of lightning, and for a split second, she pulled back, needing air, needing space, but not enough to break the connection entirely.
"What is wrong with me? I’m here with Amit, and yet my body craves something else. Something I shouldn’t even want."
Amit, sensing her hesitation, ran his fingers down her back, a gentle touch that should have soothed her, but instead, it made the heat building inside her only more unbearable. He wanted her now.
His fingers skated along her spine, moving lower, pulling her against him as his lips brushed against her neck. He kissed the same spot as before, his lips trailing down in the same, familiar way.
Priya closed her eyes, her breath coming in shallow bursts, and for just a moment, it wasn’t Amit’s lips she felt on her skin. It was Ravi’s, his kiss, his hunger.
Ravi’s touch had been urgent, demanding, as though he couldn’t wait another moment to claim her. Amit’s kisses, by contrast, were patient, tender, full of affection, but now, they seemed to fall short.
"Why does this feel so… empty? Why does it feel like I’m betraying something in myself by kissing Amit this way? His touch should feel good. It should feel comforting, familiar, but all I can think of is how it felt with Ravi. How alive I felt when I kissed him."

Amit’s lips traveled lower, to her collarbone, where his warm breath hit below her neckline, just at her cleavage, sending a shiver through her body. He kissed her there, his lips pressing firmly, almost possessively.
The pressure of his lips made Priya feel that all-too-familiar rush, but it was hard to ignore the echo of Ravi’s hands on her, the way he had held her so closely, so rawly.
"Amit’s kiss here is sweet. It’s the kiss of a husband. It’s safe. But when Ravi kissed me here… it felt like he wanted more. It felt like I was wanted, needed. I felt his desire in the way he touched me. I felt it in my body, deep in my bones."
Her hands were at Amit’s chest now, but they felt heavy, unresponsive. "Why can’t I just feel this moment with him? Why can’t I be the woman he wants me to be? Why am I so torn?"
Amit’s lips found her neck again, his hands sliding beneath the silk of her nightgown, brushing against her skin.
His touch was familiar, soothing, but it didn’t spark the fire she longed for. Priya felt her body react, but it wasn’t the reaction she wanted. It wasn’t the kind of fire she had felt with Ravi.
His lips moved up, toward her ear, his breath warm against her skin.
"I should feel that. I should feel that love. I should feel that connection. But all I can think of is how Ravi’s lips felt on my ear. How his breath against my skin made me lose control. How he made me feel things I didn’t even know I could feel."
Amit kissed her ear gently, the soft caress of his lips igniting something deep within her, but it wasn’t the same. It wasn’t Ravi.
"Why do I feel so torn?"
Priya’s hands moved up to Amit’s neck, pulling him closer as his lips sought hers once more, his kiss now more insistent, more demanding.
He kissed her harder, deeper, his hands sliding beneath her nightgown, his fingers finding the small of her back.
His touch was everywhere, warm and intimate, pulling her in, trying to ground her, while his other hand pressed against her breasts, pressing passionately, preparing her for something more.

Hi Prasanna
Thank you so much for your kind compliments. They truly mean a lot to me.
Yes, I strongly believe that there is a darker side hidden within every person. If you go back and read the first few posts of this story, you’ll notice that this idea forms the very foundation of the narrative. From the beginning, the story was meant to explore those inner layers, the conflicts, the flaws, and the shadows that coexist with what we outwardly show to the world.
I’ve been evolving the story carefully, staying true to those initial fundamentals. That is why I am gradually revealing the darker side of Ravi. It isn’t meant to shock without reason, but to stay honest to the character’s journey and the themes the story set out to explore from the start.
Thank you very much for your continued support and for taking the time to rate the story. I truly appreciate your encouragement and trust as a reader, it motivates me to keep writing with sincerity and depth.
With warm regards,
