Hi Friends
I just wanted to share a quick update. My husband and I will be heading on a short trip to the West Coast this week. It's a mix of work and leisure, we’ll be in San Francisco starting Thursday (don't worry, this is just Tuesday late night), and we won’t be back until late Tuesday night.
The first couple of days (Thursday and Friday) will be work-related for him, and after that, we’ll be taking some time off to relax until Tuesday. We’ll be flying back to the East Coast on Tuesday evening.
I’ll do my best to stay on top of things and provide updates, but please note that I’ll only have access to my tablet during the trip (I’m not bringing my laptop). As a result, my responses might be a bit slower than usual, so I appreciate your patience over the next few days!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments, feedback and support all through this journey.
With lots of gratitude and warm regards

The Movie: Unspoken Tension
The movie glowed across the massive screen, shifting light, drifting shadows, explosions of color.
It felt loud and distant at the same time, as though the world inside it had nothing to do with the world inside Ravi’s chest.
He sat still.
Too still.
Breathing slow, deliberate.
Trying to pretend the film was the thing holding his attention.
But it wasn’t.
It was her.
Priya Didi.
Beside him.
So close he could feel the faint warmth of her body seeping through the cool theater air, wrapping itself around him like a quiet pull.
Her saree rustled softly when she adjusted her seat, a sound that somehow echoed louder to him than the movie’s entire soundtrack.
She had chosen a dark color tonight, a shade that glimmered only when the screen flashed bright. The soft border of the fabric rested near his arm, brushing it every now and then in a way that made his breath catch.
She looked calm.
Composed.
The picture of someone watching a movie with her husband on her right side and a younger “brother-like” figure on her left.
But Ravi could see the subtle details.
The faint tension in her jaw.
The quick, almost hidden swallow.
The way her hands stayed perfectly still on her lap, as though she was holding something inside.
Amit, her husband, sat on her other side, relaxed, comfortable, unaware.
He laughed quietly at a comedic moment on the screen, leaning slightly forward.
And that gave her a second.
A single second where the shifting light from the screen revealed something in her eyes.
A flicker.
Soft.
But unmistakable.
Not fear.
Not guilt.
Something else.
Something she tried to bury immediately,
blinking too quickly,
forcing her focus back on the movie.
Ravi felt his heartbeat stumble.
He shifted slightly, trying to steady himself, but the movement only brought him nearer to her arm, nearer to the warmth she radiated.
He inhaled, and there it was again, the jasmine, the sandalwood, the scent that had lived in his mind far too long.
“Don’t think about it. Don’t be stupid. Just watch the movie.”
He tried.
He really did.
But his hand rested on the shared armrest,
Fingers relaxed, and the space between his skin and hers felt unbearably small.
Invisible.
Electric.
Alive.

Hi Venkygeethu
Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your patience and support. This break will definitely help me return with fresh ideas for both stories.
At the same time, I enjoy writing too, so I’ll see what I can do. This is just a short trip, and the long two-week trip is in January, during that one, I might not be able to write at all. But for these shorter trips, I’ll try to fit in some writing whenever possible.

Time passed in slow waves.
The movie played on.
Their silence became a living thing.
And then, a moment so small it should have meant nothing, her fingers shifted.
Only a fraction.
Only enough to brush against the side of his hand.
A soft, trembling contact.
Barely there. But it detonated through him.
Ravi froze.
So did she.
The movie thundered on with some dramatic chase scene, but the only sound Ravi heard was the pounding in his chest.
He didn’t dare turn his head.
Didn’t dare look at her. If he did, something inside him might break loose.
Her hand didn’t move away.
She stayed.
Perfectly still.
As if waiting to see what he would do.
Or maybe waiting to see what she would do.
Her breath changed, softer, slightly uneven.
Barely noticeable.
But he noticed. He noticed everything.
A long, fragile moment passed.
And then she shifted again, not toward him, not away, just enough that her fingers brushed his once more, a deliberate softness hidden in the casual movement.
His pulse surged.
“No… don’t read into it. She didn’t mean it… did she?”
“She should pull away.”
“Why isn’t she pulling away?”
He let his fingers stay still, not touching her directly, but not withdrawing either.
The air between their hands felt charged, warm, alive, a shared secret that neither had spoken into existence, yet both felt tightening around them.
Her inner voice trembled inside her, though Ravi could only guess at it from the way she sat slightly straighter.
“Ravi… what are you doing…? Amit is here… don’t make me feel this… don’t make me remember this feeling…”
She exhaled, long and quiet, like someone trying to stay composed.
And that was when he finally dared to breathe again.
He shifted his hand the slightest bit, a soft, hesitant movement.
His fingers grazed hers.
Just lightly.
Just enough to ask a question that neither of them could speak.
Her fingers tensed, only for a heartbeat, then relaxed again.
She didn’t move away.
Didn’t flinch.
Didn’t reclaim her hand.
She simply let the moment exist, raw, fragile, forbidden.
The dark theater pulsed around them.
The screen brightened, then dimmed.
Brightened.
Dimmed.

Hi Venkygeethu
Thank you. Yes, the story will continue without pause, and the theater sequence is going to be a very interesting moment. I’m excited to share that part soon.
I’ll do my best to justify and continue the story even while I’m on the trip, but there might be a few delays in my responses. I’ll write whenever I get some private moments to myself.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Each flicker lit up parts of her face: her cheek, her jawline, the curve of her eyelashes when she blinked.
Each flicker also illuminated something inside her eyes, something warm, something conflicted, something she tried to crush with every breath.
She shifted in her seat suddenly, a controlled movement, as though reminding herself of where she was.
But in shifting, her arm brushed his.
Her saree whispered against him.
Her hand slid a millimeter closer to his.
She stiffened for a second, her body giving away the smallest spark of panic.
“No… no, this is too close… I shouldn’t… I can’t…”
But when she relaxed again, her fingers remained in that same dangerous closeness to his hand.
Ravi didn’t dare move.
He felt everything.
Every emotion she tried to hide.
Every conflict she tried to manage.
Every unspoken desire she didn’t quite succeed in burying.
And then, the movie light flashed across her eyes, and he saw it.
A tremble.
A soft tightening of her lips.
As if she were silently scolding herself.
But she still stayed beside him.
Still close.
Still warm.
The tension between them thickened, soft but unbearable, silent but screaming.
Ravi inhaled.
Slowly.
Quietly.
Trying to calm the wildfire rising inside him.
A minute passed.
Two.
Ten.
Their hands remained close.
Too close.
Dangerously close.
Her fingers finally brushed his again, not by accident this time.
He felt the intentional softness in that touch.
And then she froze, as though startled by her own action.
Her breath caught, barely audible.
She quickly straightened her back, eyes fixed on the screen with rigid determination.
“Stop it… control yourself… don’t let him sense it…”
But her hand didn’t retreat.
Ravi barely breathed, afraid to even disturb the air around them.
He moved his fingers again.
A slow, feather-light graze.
Her eyelashes fluttered, the smallest reaction, but unmistakable.
The entire world shrank into that one, fragile sliver of space where their hands almost touched, where their skin met in stolen sparks and impossible longing.
The movie continued.
But for them, the story unfolding on the screen was nothing compared to the one unfolding between their hands.
Their silent, forbidden tension grew thicker.
Stronger.
Unavoidable.
A quiet fire neither of them dared name, yet neither could leave untouched.

Hi Venkygeethu
Hahaha, that’s true, they really are in their own movie while keeping us entertained.
Yes, I'm working on the next update and will share it soon. As mentioned, we’ll be leaving for our trip early tomorrow morning (Thursday morning Eastern Time), so please expect some delays in my updates and responses. I will still make sure to provide updates whenever possible.
Thank you very much for your continued cooperation and support.

The next sequence on the screen erupted in bright gold light, washing over their faces.
In that glow, Ravi saw her eyes flick sideways, not fully turning toward him, just a subtle, cautious shift, a stolen attempt to see if he was looking.
He wasn’t.
He couldn’t.
If he met her gaze now, he wasn’t sure what he might give away.
Her breath hitched, the smallest, quietest sound, but enough for him to feel it ripple through the thin space between them.
She shifted again, just slightly, the movement graceful and careful, the kind of adjustment someone makes when they’re pretending to get comfortable.
But instead of creating distance, her arm brushed his once more, firmer this time, a touch that lingered a fraction longer before she steadied herself.
Her fingers, still so close to his, curled inward as if she was trying to restrain them.
“Why am I letting this happen…? Why does his touch feel like this…?”
Her inner voice trembled through her posture, through the way her shoulders rose, held, then softened.
Ravi swallowed, trying to stay entirely still.
But the air had changed.
Thickened.
Warmed.
He felt the faintest tremor in her hand, a tiny, helpless reaction she probably didn’t even realize she’d let slip.
And it hit him with dizzying force, a wave of heat rolling through him.
Another burst of light from the screen illuminated her cheek, and in the brief glow he saw it: the delicate quiver near the corner of her mouth, as if she was fighting back an emotion that was both fear… and desire.
“Ravi… don’t make me want this… don’t make me reach for you…”
She exhaled, slow and uneven.
Her fingers drifted, not touching him, but surrendering to the nearness, surrendering to the moment.
Ravi’s heart thudded once, hard.
He didn’t move.
He didn’t dare.
But the space between their hands, that tiny, trembling sliver, felt like it could ignite at any second.
The movie continued.
People around them shifted, breathed, whispered.
Life went on.
But between Ravi and Priya, something fragile and molten hovered, dangerous, undeniable, and one breath away from crossing a line neither of them had ever spoken aloud.
Their silent, forbidden tension grew thicker.
Stronger.
Unavoidable.
And they both knew it.

I wanted to share something with you.
Originally, the auto scenes weren’t part of the story. I had simply written that Priya and Ravi went to the old house in a cab.
It was just a few paragraphs of straightforward narration, nothing much.
But yesterday, our driver took a sick day, so my mom and I took a short trip nearby in an auto.
I honestly can’t remember the last time I rode in one.
This yesterday's auto experience in Hyderabad roads with path holes and turns and twists, sparked the idea for the auto ride scenes between Priya and Ravi.
I quickly changed them today and gave the updates.
I hope this addition brought an interesting twist to the story.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!
I am still learning how to write novels, so your suggestions and ideas are very welcome.

Hi Prakash Sir
Thank you very much for your compliments. As I mentioned earlier, that Auto scene plot came while I was traveling in an Auto. It was completely accidental. I didn't planned it at all.
Your feedback really helps me motivated and continue writing more.
Really appreciate your support.
