update continues.....
Ashwin and Radha were completely lost in their kiss, oblivious to the food boiling on the stove, dangerously close to spilling over onto the flame. A knock on the door interrupted them, but it didn’t break their embrace. However, the persistent knocks that followed grew louder, finally catching their attention and making them pause. Breathless, they pulled apart, looking at each other. Ashwin’s gaze shifted towards the door where the sound was coming from, and Radha’s head instinctively followed.
Knock... knock... knock... The sound was clearly heard this time. Radha nudged Ashwin and said, "There's someone at the door, I think," as she wiped her mouth. "Who is it?" Ashwin asked. "How would I know? I'm here with you, Ashu," she replied. She moved to check who it was, taking a few steps away from him. As she turned her back, Ashwin couldn't resist and playfully patted her on her ass, the loud sound echoing through the room and making her flesh jiggle for a moment. She turned back, glaring at him. "You idiot!" she exclaimed, rubbing her palm over the spot where he had patted her. She told him to go to his room and get ready for the day. Ashwin walked away with a smirk on his face.
Ashwin entered his room just as Radha opened the main door. She noticed a suitcase and a bag sitting there, but no one was around. Confused, her face showed her puzzlement as she wondered who they belonged to. For a moment, her thoughts avoided Pooja, since Pooja had mentioned a few days ago that she got another month in the hostel due to her exams taking place after her project work. Moving past the luggage, Radha glanced around to see who might be there. She came down the steps and walked into the front yard, but still, no one was in sight, and the main gate remained locked. After scanning the area, she spotted Ashwin's car and approached it. Suddenly, Pooja jumped out from the other side of the car where she had been hiding.
Ta... with that, she ran to her sister at a fast pace. Radha's face suddenly shifted from confusion and uncertainty to happiness and joy in an instant. She too ran towards her, and the sisters embraced each other near the car in the front yard. For a moment, Radha's eyes filled with tears as she rested her face on Pooja's shoulder, and Pooja's eyes grew wet too. After breaking the hug, Radha's hands rested on Pooja's arms just above her elbows, while Pooja's hands remained on Radha's shoulders.
Radha: Hey, Pooja! How are you? I didn’t expect you. Why didn’t you tell me you were coming today? You look thinner now—has the hostel food not been good enough? She just kept asking question after question.
Pooja: Hey... hey... relax! Have you asked all your questions here, or can you let me enter the house and maybe give me some water? Her voice was joyful, just like her sister's.
Radha: Oh... sorry... Pooja, come, let’s go to the house. They walked, arms wrapped around each other’s waists, smiling with joy that said everything about their happiness.
Radha picked up Pooja’s suitcase and bag as they entered the house. When Pooja offered to help, Radha refused, saying, "Hey, let me carry it since you’ve borne them all the way from town to the village on your journey."
Inside the house, they stood in the hall as Pooja scanned the room, noticing the changes Ashwin had made—the things he had bought for the house. While she looked around, Radha went to the kitchen, turned the flame to simmer, brought a glass of water, and handed it to Pooja.
"Hey, Pooja, drink this first," Radha said. Pooja took the glass and drank it, her expression making it seem like it was the best drink she’d ever tasted. Radha noticed and, with astonishment on her face, asked, "What’s with you?"
Pooja replied, "No matter how much you pay for water or how tasty the drinks are elsewhere, nothing can beat the taste of the water from our native place."
Radha: You’ve reached the age for marriage, yet you still act like a child. Radha enjoys her sister’s lightheartedness.
Pooja: It’s not the age for marriage; it’s time for a job and to explore the world, Radha. Even when Pooja was in her cradle and Radha could walk, Radha never minded her sister calling her by name. She even likes it now.
Radha: Okay, fine, you’re about to leave for your job, right? Then answer my questions.
Pooja: Radha, I want to freshen up first, okay? Then I want the food you made for me. Only after that will I answer any questions. With that, she walks toward her room.
Radha: Hey, where are you going?
Pooja: To my room to put my stuff and refresh.
Radha: Hey, Ashu is in your room.
Pooja: What? What did you say?
Radha, biting her tongue, said: Ashwin is staying in your room for now. Maybe he’s getting ready for the day.
Pooja: So what? Wait a minute—he’s staying in my room? Why? Her tone grows angrier.
Radha: He’s our partner, and he’s in our village. That’s why.
Pooja: So what? You didn’t allow him to stay in the house? You should have arranged the motor room for him.
Radha: Hey, he’s our guest! We should treat him with respect and dignity, okay? This time Radha’s tone grows angrier.
Pooja: Okay, the guest is in my room. Where do you want me to put my things, and where do you expect me to stay?
Radha: You can put your luggage in my room and refresh from there.
Pooja: Okay, and at night?
Radha: You can sleep in the hall.
Pooja: No way!
Radha: Hey, you’ll have to adjust. Please, Pooja.
Pooja's heart softened a bit after hearing the care in her sister's voice for the guest. "Okay, fine. Let me refresh first," she said, taking her luggage to the room where Sonu was sleeping like a log. When she entered, she spotted him and looked at him as if he were some low-life creature. Sonu was sprawled on the bed, his dhoti shifted up to his thighs, and he was sleeping messily. Pooja was disgusted by the sight and murmured, "Chiiiiii." She put her stuff on the floor beneath the cupboard, grabbed her clothes and towel, and exited the room. She headed to the backyard where the restroom was. On the way, she paused at her old room, now Ashwin's current bedroom. She peered through the slightly ajar door and saw Ashwin working on his laptop. He seemed ready for the day, fully dressed with earphones over his ears.
She moved away, murmuring something inaudible, but Ashwin's gaze shifted to where she had stood. As she left, Ashwin smiled to himself. He had heard all the noises made by the sisters when they entered the hall but chose not to go out to greet Pooja. He didn't want to disturb the sisters in their moment of affection and, moreover, wanted to meet Pooja alone first. He had already planned something. He knew Pooja's presence would disrupt his pleasure with Radha, but his mind was now focused on how to take the next step with Pooja. Pretending to work, he listened to them and plotted his move. Even Pooja failed to notice that Ashwin's earphones weren’t connected to his mobile or laptop; the other end hung beside him from the bed.

After a few minutes, Ashwin left the bed and headed to the kitchen, where he found Radha cooking. His face lit up with joy, and Radha greeted him with a warm smile. Though happy to see her like that, he decided not to disturb her and instead headed to the backyard, where Pooja was supposed to be. Upon reaching, he realized Pooja was in the other restroom and not in the room he and Radha had used earlier. He felt a small sense of relief as it dawned on him that he had left his and Radha's clothes together in the bucket after showering. Just then, he heard the restroom door opening. Acting quickly, he pretended to be there for some other reason, did a quick sprint around the place, and came back to the house from the backside. As the door opened, Ashwin and Pooja found themselves face to face.
Ashwin: "Hey, hi! What a surprise! How could you be here?" he exclaims, pretending to be surprised as Pooja steps out of the bathroom.
Pooja: "Hello Ashwin, how are you?"
Ashwin: "Nothing has changed in me," he teases with a playful tone.
Pooja: "Looks like you're ready to leave the house for your business today."
Ashwin: ". Do I look good in this attire?" he asks, moving his hand back and forth as if seeking her opinion.
Pooja: "Not bad." With that, she leaves the backyard to join her sister. Ashwin stands there, watching her sway away, his gaze fixed on her hip until she disappears into the kitchen. Then, Ashwin enters the house, heads to his room, and waits for Radha's call for breakfast.
As he waits for her call, Ashwin thinks of Pooja. "You think you're smarter by avoiding me? Keep your tongue in check with me. Mmm, no, Pooja—you know you'll come to me asking for help. Watch and see, baby."
Ashwin, Ashwin, breakfast is ready! The sound came from the hall, and Ashwin knew it was Radha.
Ashwin walked in to find the place fully set for breakfast, with Radha sitting near the food pots, ready to serve him. He sat down in his spot and started eating. While eating, he asked Radha, "I heard some sounds. Who was it?" He pretended not to notice Pooja, fully aware that Pooja hadn't mentioned their backyard encounter.
Radha: "Sorry, Ashwin. I forgot to tell you—it was Pooja."
"Pooja?" Ashwin's voice was full of surprise. "You mean our Pooja? Your sister, right?"
"Yes, she is," Radha confirmed and proceeded to explain what had happened when she went to answer the knock.
Ashwin: "So, she walked from the main village to here?"
"Yes," Radha replied.
Ashwin: "If she'd informed us about her arrival today, I would have gone to pick her up,"
Radha: "Hey, this is our village. She loves to walk. She enjoys the forest and mountain areas, you know."
"I see," Ashwin remarked.
Radha: "Yes, Ashwin." [ But Pooja didn’t mention the morning incident with Ajay, Irfan, and Kavita.]
Ashwin: "Well, I thought she was like a typical modern girl who hates walking or enjoying any kind of village life."
Radha shook her head. "Hey, she's not like that, Ashwin. She only wants to go to town to study and work. She thinks the town offers her a job and some freedom."
Ashwin: "Wouldn’t you think that way in your life?"
Radha: "No, Ashu. I'm happy with this life,"
Ashwin: Happy with what? The drunkard husband or a full day of hard labor in the farm fields? As he said this, he saw her face turn sad, so he changed the topic. "Okay, okay, no need to go there. What is it she plans? I mean, does Pooja want to work, or do you have other plans for her?"
Radha: "Well, she is very determined to work and stand on her own feet."
Ashwin: "Well then, fine. I know she wants to become a Chartered Accountant and be a CA like me, right?"
Radha: "How do you know that?" Her voice carried an element of surprise.
Ashwin: "She told me once."
Radha: "When did she tell you?"
Ashwin: "Hey, first of all, where is she? If she's here, why don't you serve her breakfast?" Ashwin's voice showed his concern for Pooja, which melted Radha's heart more and more.
Radha: "She’s here, but she went to look around the land and plants. She always does this."
Ashwin: "Okay, my love, tell her that I would help her achieve her dream of becoming a CA."
Radha: "But how could you—" Ashwin raised his palm to stop her from saying more.
Ashwin: "Hey love, don’t you think I wouldn’t do that for you? Listen, tell her that I can manage to get her a job in my friend's office or any other place. From there, she can learn and study at the same time, okay?"
Radha: "Why someone else's office? What about yours? You're a big auditor, right? Don’t you have an office there?"
Ashwin: "Yes, I have an office, and it functions under me. I oversee it from here. But do you think Pooja would accept me?" His tone dropped low. Before Radha could understand what he meant by "accept me," he continued, "I don’t think she would join my office or take me as her teacher."
Radha: "Who told you that, or what made you think that way, Ashu?"
Ashwin: "Well, I feel like it."
Radha: "You feel wrong, Ashwin. Okay? You're the teacher I chose for her, and she will join your office. Now go to the construction site, okay? I’ll prepare your lunch today—take it with you when you come back."
Before heading to his car, Ashwin asked, "Radha, why lunch? I always come home for it, but why today?" Radha replied softly, "Ashwin, today Pooja is here, and I want her to think you always take your lunch in the morning. Moreover, if you come for lunch today, you’ll be put on the spot since Pooja is here, and you know…" Her tone dropped as she lowered her head. "You understand, Ashu, so please take it with you." Ashwin left for the construction site, and while driving, he thought to himself, "Hey, Pooja, you’ll come to me tonight. I’ll be waiting."
Meanwhile, after waving him goodbye, Radha thought to herself, "Ashu, you love me so much that you’re willing to help my sister out of love for me. Don’t worry, Ashwin, I’ll speak to Pooja, and she’ll come to you and learn from you, Ashu." With that, she stepped into the house, then suddenly paused and looked toward the farm. She called out loudly, "Hey, Pooja, come here!"
