I felt it better when I am writing instead of taking rest.  I am recovering better, still a little bit of fever, but feeling much better now. Thank you.

The cat-and-mouse dynamic between Priya Didi and Ravi is definitely one of my favorite parts too.   

There will be much more to come in that sequence.  

I had to take this diversion to increase the weight and longing between them.

And I can assure you, I'm committed to keeping the story going strong... It is sure to cross a century and way more pages. 

The main story is yet to start.

With all this amazing support, I feel even more motivated to write and keep delivering the best I can.

Thursday Night – 11:37 PM – Sirisha’s Message



Ravi was just about to plug in his phone for the night when it vibrated.

Sirisha.

Sirisha:
“Ravi bhayya… can I ask something?”

He blinked. This late? He typed back.

Ravi:
“Of course, kiddo. What happened?”

A pause.

Sirisha:
“Why didn’t you come for dinner at 401?”
“Was it because of me?”
“Did I cross a line today…?”

Ravi sat up. He wasn’t expecting this.

Ravi:
“Hey... not at all.”
“Why would you think that?”

She took a moment, then replied:

Sirisha:
“I don’t know… I felt like I was a bit too much.”
“That teasing… the perfume… the bed moment…”
“I was just being me. But after you left, I started worrying…”


Ravi smiled faintly, a mix of affection and guilt rising in his chest.

Ravi:
“Sirisha, you were being you. That’s never a problem.”
“You light up any space you walk into.”
“And I didn’t avoid dinner because of you. I just needed some time alone tonight.”

Another pause. Then...

Sirisha:
“Really?”

“I just… like being around you.”

He looked at her message and let that moment sit with him for a while before replying.

Ravi:
“And I enjoy every moment with you too.”
“You’re full of energy. Laughter. Mischief. It’s refreshing.”

Her reply came almost instantly...

Sirisha:
“So I didn’t ruin anything?”

Ravi:
“Not even close.”
“You made my Thursday more colorful than it had any right to be.”

Sirisha:
“Hehe. That’s a sweet way of putting it.”

Then, just as he thought the conversation was winding down…

Sirisha:
“Will you still spend time with me tomorrow?”

Ravi smiled.

Ravi:
“Wouldn’t miss it for anything.”

Sirisha:
“Good. Then I’ll sleep well tonight.”
“Goodnight, Bhayya.”

Ravi:
“Goodnight, you little storm.”

He set the phone down, feeling lighter than he had all evening.

Sirisha's doubt, her honesty, it stirred something protective in him.

And though his world was still full of emotional undercurrents,

Her brightness had become a thread of joy he was quietly starting to cherish.

“No dinner with us tonight? Vamsi was offended, you know ”

Ravi saw the notification just as he’d tucked into bed. He smiled and opened it.

Ravi:
“Arre… tell Vamsi I owe him one.”
“Long day. Needed a little space. You understand, don’t you?”


Neetu:
“Oh, I understand plenty.”
“You stayed away because someone was being a bit too naughty in the afternoon?”


Ravi:
*“You? Naughty? Never.”
“You’re the definition of dignity in Gagras and Rasmalai.”


Neetu:
“Flatterer.”
“But really, you didn’t come for dessert… and I’m not talking about Rasmalai this time ?”


Ravi:
“You saying you were the dessert?”


Neetu:
“I didn’t say it. You did. But I’m not denying it either.”
“Anyway… I know you enjoyed some dessert, but you missed a lot.”

“Regretting already.”

“Positive.”
“I want to hear what the ‘dangerous boy’ saw.”


Ravi:
“Alright. When the door opened… all I saw was your face first. Damp, soft curls clinging to your cheeks. A little water trailing down your neck.”
“Your eyes were wide, surprised maybe—but there was a sparkle.”
“You tilted your head slightly, and then I noticed… that towel barely covering you, clutched with one hand…”

Neetu:
“And the other towel?”


Ravi:
“…Dripping down your hair, catching the light like wet silk.”
“I didn’t look lower. I swear.”


Neetu:
“You better not have.”
“But I wanted you to.”


A pause. His phone buzzed again.

Neetu:
“You know what was the craziest part?”
“I stood there, knowing I was in nothing but that towel… and still, I wasn’t afraid.”
“I knew you wouldn’t cross a line.”
“And yet… a tiny part of me wanted you to.”

Ravi blinked at the screen, then typed slowly.

Ravi:
“I would’ve walked away… even if the door opened fully.”
“But I would’ve remembered that image forever.”


Neetu:
“Maybe I gave you something… to remember.”
“Then how did you make a move after lunch?”


Ravi:

“That is simply the power of Rasmalai... you were covered with it”
“The dessert covered with another dessert... could not control at that point”

Ravi:
The soap and shampoo.
