Varnika’s Room – 11:40 PM
She sat cross-legged on her bed, staring at the city lights through the window.
Her phone buzzed.
A message from Abhi.
[Abhi – 11:40 PM]
“You were impossible at dinner. That papad theft was a criminal offense.”
She stared at it, then smiled — just a little.
[Varnika – 11:41 PM]
“You’re lucky I didn’t rob your brownie.”
A pause.
Her fingers hovered.
She typed… deleted. Then slowly wrote again.
[Varnika – 11:43 PM]
“I don’t know if I was trying too hard tonight. But it felt nice to feel normal again.”
Abhi read the message twice.
[Abhi – 11:44 PM]
“You weren’t trying. You were normal. Just… you.”
There was silence. And then...
[Varnika – 11:46 PM]
“You know that time I said I was fine with everything?”
“I still am.”
“But now I know what I said.”
He read it slowly. Carefully.
[Abhi – 11:48 PM]
“That’s the difference between saying it, and living it.”
[Varnika – 11:49 PM]
“Exactly.”
Another pause.
[Varnika – 11:50 PM]
“Sleep well, Mr. Brownie Victim.”
[Abhi – 11:50 PM]
“Only if the brownie thief lets me.”
She smiled into the dark.
[Varnika – typing…]
Then stopped.
Instead, she turned off the light, pulling the blanket up, heartbeat steady now.
The warmth between the three of them, fragile, but real,
Was beginning to thread itself into something lasting.

Hey everyone
Apologies if today's updates weren’t as many as usual
We had some relatives over for lunch, and they decided to stick around until the evening!
I’ll see if I can sneak in a few more updates later tonight after everyone finally heads to bed.
Thanks for your patience!

Tuesday Morning – The Kitchen Pact
The window above the kitchen sink was half open
Letting in the scent of wet leaves from the overnight rain.
Meghana stood near the stove, tying her damp hair into a bun.
A quiet Sunday stretched ahead.
Varnika came out of her room, already dressed in a crisp beige tee and cotton shorts,
Her face bare but alert.
They looked at each other.
No tension. Just clarity.
“I know everything,” Varnika said simply.
Meghana didn’t flinch. “I thought you might.”
Varnika walked past her
Opened the cabinet, pulled down two mugs.
She poured water into the kettle without breaking eye contact.
There was a strange, quiet elegance in the way the two women spoke.
No bitterness. No guilt.
“You didn’t hide it,” Varnika said.
“I didn’t want to.”
There was silence for a few seconds.
Then Varnika let out a small breath and leaned back against the kitchen counter.
“Do you… love him?”
Meghana was still.

She turned to face her sister fully.
“I don’t know what to call it. But when I’m around him… I forget I’m supposed to lie to myself.”
Varnika nodded slowly. “Same.”
That landed.
And neither of them tried to pretend otherwise.
“You spent the weekend with him,” Varnika added, a little teasing in her voice, though it was mostly acknowledgment.
“And I don’t regret a second,” Meghana replied, equally honest. “You?”
Varnika’s expression softened. “I regret walking away that morning. But I needed the space.”
“I know.”
“I’m not walking away again.”
Meghana looked at her, this wasn’t just acceptance. This was alignment.
“I want time with him,” Varnika said clearly. “And I’m not pretending it’s innocent.”
Meghana smiled. “You think I was?”
“No,” Varnika smiled back.
“But I think we’re lucky. Most women don’t get to share something this rare without jealousy.”
“We’re not most women,” Meghana said.
“And he’s not just a man,” Varnika added. “He’s Abhi.”
A beat of silence.
Then Meghana reached for her sister’s hand and gave it a squeeze.
“Let’s not complicate this. If we both care about him, we give him what we can. What he wants. What we want.”
Varnika nodded. “Without guilt. Without rules.”
“And no cornering,” Meghana added.
“He’s not a trophy,” Varnika said.
“Then let’s not play a game,” Meghana replied.
They both smiled. In that moment, the pact was made, unapologetic, unshakable, and mutual.
The kettle clicked.
Varnika poured the hot water into the mugs, added tea leaves and sugar.
Meghana stirred slowly, then said, “Send him a text.”
Varnika smirked. “You do it.”
Meghana raised an eyebrow. “We both do.”
And just like that, Abhi’s morning was about to get very interesting.

Messages from Sisters
Varnika and Meghana sat in the living room, the late afternoon light filtering in through the window, casting a warm glow over the space.
Each was holding her phone, the stillness between them holding a tension that neither dared to break.
Meghana typed first, her fingers moving with quiet certainty.
“Hey Abhi, would you like to join us for dinner tonight? We’re making something special.” She hit send,
Then set the phone down beside her, feeling the faintest ripple of anticipation in the air.
Varnika followed suit, her message more direct.
“Abhi, would you mind giving me a ride to the university this afternoon?
I’ll be done in a couple of hours, and it would be great to catch up on the way.”
She quickly added a smiley face at the end, a small attempt to keep it casual,
Though she knew it wasn’t just about the ride anymore.
There was something heavier beneath her words, something she couldn’t yet name.
For a moment, the two sisters sat in silence, each waiting.
Varnika shifted her gaze toward Meghana, who was absently swirling her tea.
Both women knew what was coming, though neither of them fully understood what it would mean.
Abhi’s reply came almost immediately, but he responded to them separately, as expected.
Abhi’s Message to Meghana:
“I’d love to join you both for dinner. What time should I come over?”
Meghana’s lips curved into a soft smile as she read the message.
She didn’t respond right away, instead glancing at Varnika.
“Looks like he’s in,” she said, her tone light, though there was a deeper understanding behind the words.
Varnika, her attention on her phone, waited for the reply from Abhi.
She had to remind herself to breathe as she stared at the screen.
When it came, it was exactly as she had hoped.
Abhi’s Message to Varnika:
“I’m free around 2 PM, I can give you a ride then.”
Varnika’s heart skipped a beat.
She quickly tapped out a response, trying to keep her voice light.
“Great, I’ll be ready. See you then.”
She tucked her phone into her pocket, trying to ignore the flutter in her chest.
The ride to the university would only take a few minutes, but for some reason, it felt like the longest trip of her life.
Meghana looked over at her sister, sensing the mix of emotions just beneath her calm exterior.
“You okay?” she asked softly, though she already knew the answer.
Varnika smiled, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Yeah, just... ready.”
They both knew this was more than just a ride to the university.
It was the start of something neither of them could predict.

Still Learning to Write
I know me.
I know I’m not the best writer.
I know I’m not even a better one.
Not a good one either —
and if I’m being honest,
I know I’m not a writer at all.
Just someone trying to become one.
I want to write,
even though I don’t know how yet.
I don’t claim to be good —
not polished, not practiced, not ready —
just someone learning to shape her thoughts into words.
I’ve never called myself a writer.
I’m only beginning to learn,
taking small steps, one sentence at a time.
I have time —
More than most.
A stay-at-home wife
Lonely and bored
with space in the day
and stories in my head.
So I chose writing.
I thought erotica would be easy,
but I was wrong.
Even desire takes discipline to write.
Even passion needs patience.
It’s only been a few weeks,
not even a month and a half.
And I know — truly —
That no real skill can bloom overnight.
I’m a slow learner,
one of the backbenchers
who needs to hear things twice,
read things three times,
and still wonders if she got it right.
I don’t know all the rules.
I’m still figuring out punctuation —
where to pause,
where to stop,
how to shape a sentence
so it breathes the way it should.
But I’m trying.
I’m not one of those hidden geniuses in disguise.
I’m just someone willing to try.
My writing feels childish,
like a little drawing made with crayons —
a car with square wheels,
a train with a crooked smile.
But it’s mine.
And I made it with heart.
I’m grateful for those who encourage me,
who tell me I can grow,
who give me a reason to believe.
So I write —
as often as I can,
as fully as I can.
It may take me longer,
but I’m not giving up.
This is my voice,
still unshaped,
still unsure.
But maybe in time,
it will find its rhythm.
Some have noticed
that the heroes in my stories
are strong —
handsome, confident,
full of charm and perfect timing.
Yes, I chose them that way.
Not because I believe all men are like that,
but because, right now,
it feels safer to write about them.
When you're still learning,
when your voice is unsure,
it's easier to build a world
where the characters are steady,
certain, larger than life.
I didn’t want to risk too much
by writing messy, complicated people —
not yet.
So I began with the kind of heroes
who feel safe to write,
who give me space to focus
on the rhythm of storytelling
before diving into the chaos of realism.
Is that wrong?
It might be.
But still,
this felt easier to start with —
a way to begin without fear,
to stay steady while I find my voice.
Maybe one day,
my heroes will grow messier,
more real, more flawed.
But for now,
this is how I begin.
I know there will be critics —
some fair,
some harsh,
some who may cut deep
without meaning to.
And others,
maybe,
just trying to be hard.
Either way,
I will have to face them.
Their words may sting,
but I’m not surprised.
This is life.
This is writing.
And I am well aware of it.
Still,
I will continue writing.
I ask only this:
stay with me while I learn.
I don’t know if I’ll ever be great,
or even good enough,
but I promise —
I’m giving everything I have.
Please don’t compare my words
to good stories or flawless prose.
I’m not there.
I may never be.
And honestly —
I’m okay with that.
Not every voice needs to echo from the top shelf.
Some stories are meant to be quiet,
growing in small corners,
read by kind eyes who understand.
This is real.
This is honest.
And this is me —
Still Learning to Write

Tuesday Afternoon – Scooty Ride
The clock on Abhi’s screen blinked 1:48.
He closed his laptop, pushed back from his desk, and grabbed the keys to the rented scooty downstairs.
He wasn’t sure why he was smiling.
Maybe because the ride was just ten minutes.
Maybe because it suddenly felt like the most important ten minutes of his day.
By the time he reached the front gate, Varnika was already waiting, arms crossed, legs casual, her sling bag hanging from one shoulder.
She wasn’t in a hurry.
She was glowing in the kind of soft beige that somehow made the afternoon light part around her.
“You’re two minutes early,” she said, walking toward him, eyebrow raised.
“Is that to compensate for the extra bumps you’re planning to hit?”
Abhi smirked, starting the scooty. “I don’t do that anymore. I’m a changed man.”
She laughed and swung onto the seat behind him.
No hesitation. No slow settling.
Just one smooth motion, her arms wrapping around his waist like they never stopped doing that.
“Mmm.” She rested closer than usual. “So no potholes this time?”
“Zero,” he said. “Clean, professional ride.”
“Good.” Her breath brushed the back of his neck.
“Because this time I’m already hugging you. You don’t need stunts to make that happen.”
He couldn’t help it, he laughed. The warm, involuntary kind. “Noted.”
She leaned in just a little more. “Also, if you avoid the chai stall dip, I won’t bite your shoulder in public.”
“Is that a threat or a promise?”
“Don’t tempt me. I skipped lunch.”
The scooty picked up speed as they turned onto the main road.
The air was cool from the morning rain, and the road glistened faintly under the sun. Abhi didn’t speak — he didn’t need to.
She was right there, her arms relaxed but sure, her presence unshaken.
After a minute, she spoke again — lower, almost thoughtful but still light.
“You know… I don’t think I missed the rides.”
He glanced at the mirror. She was watching him through her lashes, smiling faintly.
“I think I missed the excuse to hold on to you in broad daylight.”
Abhi’s chest went still for just a second. Then he smiled — quietly, fully.
“Next time,” he said, “you don’t need an excuse.”
“Good,” she murmured. “Because I’m not letting go until the parking lot.”

Tuesday Afternoon – Scooty Ride Continued...
They merged into the narrow lane that curved past the grocery store,
Where the road always looked deceptively smooth.
Abhi kept his hands steady on the handlebar.
But Hyderabad had other plans.
The first bump came without warning.
Not a violent jolt — just enough to shift Varnika forward.
Her body pressed into his back, light but unmistakable.
Her chest met his shoulder blades, and for a second,
The only sound between them was her soft breath catching near his neck.
She didn’t move away.
In fact, she adjusted, subtly, arms tightening just a little more around his waist.
Abhi’s fingers flexed on the throttle.
He didn’t speak. Didn’t joke.
He just kept his eyes on the road,
Feeling the warmth of her front melt into his back, her breath now syncing with his.
Then came a shallow patch of gravel, barely noticeable on any other day.
But today, he felt everything.
Every shift of her weight.
Every microsecond her body moved with his.
Another pothole. Slight dip.
She bumped gently again.
This time, no apology.
No surprise.

Just that small, unapologetic closeness
Her cheek now softly brushing against the fabric of his shirt as she rested her head for a moment.
He felt her smile. He couldn’t see it, but he felt it.
“Still think you’re a changed man?” she murmured near his ear.
He chuckled, low and steady. “Hyderabad roads and traffic disagrees.”
Her fingers traced along his sides briefly,
Then settled again around his stomach,
Teasingly, just… there.
Present.
Un-shy.
“You know I’m not complaining,” she whispered.
Neither was he.
The air carried the faint scent of jasmine from a roadside vendor,
But Abhi was too focused, not on the road now,
But on every inch of pressure behind him,
The way her softness curved into his spine,
Not deliberately seductive, but naturally so.
She didn’t say another word.
She didn’t need to.
They rode like that, not for long,
But long enough for Abhi to feel something slow and electric move through his skin.
It wasn’t wild. It wasn’t chaotic.
It was quiet intimacy, that rare kind that only builds when two bodies speak a language more fluent than words.
By the time the university wall appeared ahead, her grip hadn’t loosened once.
And Abhi?
He was already wondering how it would feel if this road never ended.

Tuesday Afternoon – The Campus Walk
The scooty rolled to a smooth stop near the university entrance.
Varnika’s arms lingered around Abhi’s waist even after the engine went silent.
“We’re here,” he said, glancing back with a small smile.
“Mm.” She didn’t move. “Five more seconds.”
Her chin lightly brushed his shoulder, and he didn’t argue.
The seconds stretched, warm, easy, until she finally let go and hopped off with a faint grin.
“You’re coming with me,” she said, as if it wasn’t a question.
“It’ll just take five minutes.”
Abhi parked the scooty, and they stepped through the gate together.
The campus was quiet, the afternoon heat softened by passing clouds.
Students lounged in small groups near the benches, but Varnika’s stride was confident,
Her head slightly tilted as though she liked having him there.
“You know, they’re all staring,” he teased lightly.
“Maybe they think I’m your driver.”
She glanced at him sideways, smirking. “Oh no. Not my driver. My… personal chauffeur.”
She let the words hang, deliberate, before adding softly, “The one I hold on to for dear life.”
Abhi chuckled, shaking his head.
As they crossed the courtyard, a couple of juniors whispered something, clearly curious about the tall guy walking next to her.
Varnika didn’t bother lowering her voice.
“See?” she whispered. “Now they’re going to think I’m secretly dating someone mysterious.”
“Are you complaining?” Abhi asked.
“Not at all. I like the mystery.”
They reached the admin block. Varnika went inside to collect her documents, leaving Abhi leaning casually against the wall outside.
Through the glass door, he could see her, poised, talking to the clerk with that animated energy only she had.
Every now and then, she glanced over her shoulder at him.
Not shy. Not hiding. Just… looking.
When she came back out, papers in hand, her smile had that done-and-dusted brightness.
“See? Told you five minutes,” she said, waving the papers.
“Next time I’m charging for escort duty,” Abhi replied.
She stepped closer, lowering her voice. “And how exactly will I pay you?”
There was mischief in her eyes, the kind that wasn’t looking for an answer.

Tuesday Afternoon – The Campus Walk (Continued)
Varnika tilted her head, that mischievous smile lingering.
“And how exactly will I pay you?”
Abhi arched an eyebrow, his tone equally soft and teasing.
“Surprise me. Something tells me you’re good at… unconventional payments.”
She bit back a grin. “Hmm. Maybe I’ll make you skip a pothole next time.”
He chuckled. “That’s not a payment, that’s torture.”
Just then, a voice called from across the courtyard.
“Varnika! Hey!”
Two girls from her batch were waving, crossing the open space toward them. One of them, with oversized glasses and a sharp tone, eyed Abhi curiously.
“Hi,” Varnika said warmly as they reached her.
The girl’s gaze flickered between Varnika and Abhi. “So… who’s this?”
Varnika didn’t hesitate.
“He’s my boyfriend,” she said, casual as a summer breeze, but with a proud little smirk that made Abhi freeze for half a second.
“Boyfriend?” the other girl repeated, grinning.
“Since when? You never told us!”
Varnika slid her arm around Abhi’s — bold, unflinching — and looked right at him.
“Since the day he stopped taking bumps on purpose,” she said with mock seriousness.
Abhi coughed, trying not to laugh.
“That’s not a very romantic origin story,” he murmured.
“It’s ours,” she replied, as if that settled it.
The two friends were all smiles and whispers. “Nice to meet you!” they said to Abhi, clearly intrigued.
He gave a polite nod, but inside, he was caught somewhere between amusement and… something else. Something warmer.
Her boyfriend.
She said it like she meant it.
After a few moments of light chatter, the friends waved and left, still giggling. Varnika turned back to Abhi, her grin widening.
“Don’t look so shocked,” she teased.
“What was I supposed to say? ‘He’s my part-time scooty driver who happens to make me smile?’”
Abhi tilted his head closer. “So I’m your boyfriend now?”
“You’re not protesting,” she shot back, her tone bold but playful. “And I don’t share my rides.”

Tuesday Afternoon – Coffee and Claims
They were walking back toward the scooty when Varnika nudged his arm with a sly grin.
“So… boyfriend,” she said, emphasizing the word like it was new territory.
“A real boyfriend wouldn’t just drop his girlfriend at the gate and zoom off.”
Abhi raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And what’s the job description then?”
“Coffee,” she said instantly. “I want coffee. A good one, not that watery canteen stuff.”
He smirked. “You’re bossy for someone who just promoted me to boyfriend.”
“Perks of the title,” she shot back, walking a few steps ahead of him.
“You get my company and my hugs. I get caffeine and pothole-free rides. It’s a win-win.”
Abhi laughed, shaking his head. “What if I say no?”
She turned to face him, mock serious, her hands on her hips.
“Then I’ll tell everyone my boyfriend doesn’t know how to treat me. Do you want that reputation?”
He grinned, leaning a little closer. “You’re really enjoying this, aren’t you?”
“Oh, absolutely,” she said with zero hesitation. “You look good as a boyfriend. Feels… natural.”
She paused, then teased, “I’m not asking for couple selfies yet, don’t worry. Coffee first.”
At the Coffee Shop
Ten minutes later, they were seated in a quiet café just outside campus. Varnika had chosen the corner table, like she owned the place.
“This is better,” she said, leaning on her elbows, chin propped in her hands. “Now it looks like a proper date.”
Abhi took a sip of his cappuccino, smiling. “So I’m buying your coffee and playing boyfriend. What else is on the list?”
She pretended to think, tapping her finger on the table.
“Hmm… maybe a long ride next weekend. You can upgrade from ‘boyfriend on trial’ to ‘official boyfriend’ if you pass.”
Abhi chuckled. “I didn’t know I was interviewing for a role.”
“You’re doing great so far,” she said with a soft, teasing smile. “Though I’m still suspicious about your pothole tactics.”
“Still on about that?” he laughed.
She leaned forward slightly, her tone dropping just enough to make his chest tighten.
“Well, it’s hard to forget when you make me hold on that tight.”
Abhi set his cup down, unable to stop the quiet grin forming on his face.
There was no jealousy, no distance in her voice anymore.
Just Varnika being bold, warm, and entirely herself.

Tuesday Afternoon – Coffee Shop, Part Two
The coffee shop was quiet for a weekday.
Outside, a few students loitered near the parking lot
But inside, it felt like the world had slowed down just for them.
Varnika sat across from Abhi, her cup between her hands.
The teasing smile on her face softened, as if she realized something mid-sip.
“You know,” she said slowly,
Stirring the coffee with the tip of her spoon,
“this is nice. Just us. No noise. No one asking where I’m going or when I’m coming back.”
Abhi tilted his head, watching her.
“You could have just asked me for coffee earlier, you know.”
She smiled faintly. “I could have. But I wanted to be sure I’d enjoy it.”
“And?”
She leaned back, gaze steady on him. “I do. More than I thought I would.”
There was no sarcasm in her voice now. No shield.
Abhi felt it
That subtle drop in the tone
The shift from playful to something real.

Tuesday Afternoon – Borrowed Time
The café was quiet in that way small weekday cafés often are
A low hum of distant conversation and the hiss of the coffee machine blending with the muted sounds of the street outside.
Varnika hadn’t touched her coffee in the last few minutes.
Her spoon moved lazily through the foam, circles over circles, but her thoughts were clearly elsewhere.
Abhi noticed, he always did.
“You’re quiet,” he said gently.
She blinked, as if pulled back from far away, and gave him a small smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
“Yeah… I was just thinking.”
“About what?”
Her gaze lingered on him for a moment, as though debating whether to speak, then drifted back to the table.
“I found out something yesterday. Big news.”
Abhi leaned forward slightly. “What happened?”
She drew a slow breath, the spoon stilling in her cup.
“My papers for the UK got approved.”
For a moment, neither of them spoke. The words hung between them, heavier than they should have been.
“Already?” Abhi asked, his tone steady, but inside something tugged at him.
Varnika nodded slowly.
“Yeah. It’s the kind of news I should be thrilled about. And I was… for like ten minutes yesterday.”
She gave a quiet, self-conscious laugh. “But then… I don’t know. I don’t feel happy. Not the way I thought I would.”
Abhi’s brows knit together. “Why?”
She froze for a moment, her gaze snapping to him.
Her eyes, steady, unblinking, carried a weight that made him feel like the air between them had thickened.
“Why?” she repeated softly, tilting her head,
A faint mix of disbelief and tenderness in her voice. “Abhi… do you really not know that?”
He swallowed, unsure how to respond.
She leaned forward slightly, her voice dropping to a near-whisper.
“Or do you want me to say it out loud? Do you want me to tell you that leaving feels wrong… because I just found something I don’t want to leave behind?”
“Because all I can think about is how fast everything is changing. A few more weeks, maybe less, and I’ll be gone. Away from this city. Away from the people who… who feel like home.”
Her voice dropped. “Away from you.”
Her words landed heavy.
Not rushed.
Not dramatic.
Just true.

The Confession
Varnika’s voice softened further.
“I don’t want to pretend I’m okay with walking away like you never mattered to me. Because you do. More than I thought someone could in such a short time.”
Her gaze stayed on him, unflinching but fragile.
“I haven’t even told Meghana yet. You’re the first person I wanted to tell. Maybe because… you’re the one person I don’t want to leave behind without saying something real.”
Abhi didn’t speak. He just watched her, the warmth and ache in her words settling into him like a quiet storm.
“I know I’ll have to go,” she continued.
“I know this isn’t forever. But I want these days to mean something. I want to feel what it’s like to call you mine… even if it’s just for a while.”
She let out a shaky breath, almost smiling. “My first boyfriend. My… short-term boyfriend.”
Her tone cracked just enough to show how deeply she meant it.
“It’s strange, isn’t it? Knowing we’ll have to ‘break up’ before we’ve even begun.”
Abhi didn’t know what to say.
So he simply turned his hand over on the table, his fingers brushing against hers.
He didn’t grip, didn’t pull, just touched, as if saying I hear you.
She looked at their hands, then back at him, a small smile forming, fragile but real.
“Let me have this, Abhi. Let me remember these days as something warm… not something I ran out of time for.”
Abhi’s voice was quiet when he finally spoke. “Okay.”
And that single word was enough to make her smile, small, trembling, but true.

Dear Friends
I hope you're all doing well.
I wanted to give you a quick update on my situation.
For the last few days, I’ve been feeling really under the weather.
What started as a cold turned into a fever, and I’ve been getting regular fevers. Today, I’m completely down.
I went to the doctor’s office, where they ran some tests and prescribed some medication.
I’m hoping to feel better soon and get back to writing and sharing updates with you all.
I just wanted to let you know that I’ve written a few updates today, but honestly, none of them felt right.
Given that I’m not feeling 100% and my mind isn’t fully there, I think it’s better if I take a couple of days to rest and recover properly.
I’m hoping to be back to writing soon and will make sure the updates are worth the wait.
I ask for your patience and understanding during this time, and I apologize for not being able to write much while I recover.
Hopefully, I’ll be back at it soon.
In the meanwhile, please feel free to share your ideas on how the story can unfold and what you think will happen next. I’m really curious to see your guesses and thoughts!
Thank you for your understanding, and I appreciate your patience during this time.
Best regards,
