Adultery Priya Didi
“What?” she asked

Her voice low and casual, though there was a flicker of amusement in her tone.

Ravi blinked, realizing just how long he’d been staring.

He felt the heat rise to his face. “Nothing...” he said,

His voice coming out almost like a whisper. “Just... you look... really nice, Didi.”

She didn’t answer immediately.

Instead, she let that smile linger, her gaze still holding his, as if she were savoring the moment.

And then, she walked past him, her presence leaving an imprint on the air,

And his eyes followed every step of her, drawn like gravity pulling him in.

As she moved to the table, she let the silence stretch, letting him watch her, letting him stare.

Later, as they ate, their conversation meandered through light topics, work

The usual banter, but there was a subtle, undeniable shift in the air.

Priya seemed to be more at ease.

More present.

She wasn’t hiding anymore.

The distance between them, the walls that had stood for so long, were crumbling, bit by bit.

And Ravi couldn’t stop looking at her.

Her movements were graceful, every shift of her body making the fabric of her skirt flutter ever so slightly.

The way the light hit her skin, making it glow... it was almost like she was radiating something otherworldly.

He found himself staring again, unable to stop,

Watching the curve of her neck as she tilted her head to take a bite of her food,

The soft swish of her hair as she reached for the water.

He could feel his heart beating faster with every second.

And then, as if she had been waiting for it all along,

Priya's voice broke the rhythm of the evening, warm but knowing.

“You’re staring,” she said, her tone soft, but there was an edge to it,

A teasing lilt that made his chest tighten.

Ravi’s heart skipped a beat.

He looked up at her, caught off guard.

There was no apology in his eyes, only the undeniable truth. “I know,” he admitted

His voice low, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips.

He didn’t look away, though.

In fact, his gaze seemed to deepen, his focus sharpening as he looked at her,

His eyes tracing the graceful line of her collarbone, the delicate curve of her jaw.

The way the light fell across her face

The way her eyes flickered in the soft glow of the lamps, it all felt so... magnetic.

Priya didn’t say anything for a moment.

She simply met his gaze, her eyes unwavering.

There was something in her look now, something deeper, more self-assured.

A quiet pride, perhaps.

Or maybe it was the knowledge that she could command his attention without trying.

She didn’t want him to stop.

She smiled, a small, knowing smile. “You don’t have to stop,” she said,

Her voice almost a whisper, like she was letting him in on a secret.

The air between them shifted,

Charged with something more than just the casual conversation they had been having.

Ravi didn’t look away.

He couldn’t.

And somehow, he felt that, in this moment, neither of them wanted him to.

They were both aware now, aware of the unspoken connection, the electric pull between them.

And though no words passed between them in that quiet moment

Everything was said.

Everything was understood.

His Priya Didi has come back.

Tuesday Night – The Dinner That Felt Like Home Again

“Come on,” she said

Gently tapping his knuckles with the serving spoon. “Eat before everything goes cold.”

Ravi chuckled. “You still remember how to scold me like a proper didi.”

She paused, then looked up, smile widening.

“I didn’t forget anything,” she said. “Just took a few days off.”

There was a silence, just long enough to feel meaningful.

Then she served him rice, spooned curry beside it, and said lightly, “You lost weight.”

“I did?”

“Or maybe my eyes got sharper,” she said,

A quiet tease buried beneath her voice.

He grinned, heart thudding gently. “I missed this.”

She stopped for a second, her hand mid-air, then set the spoon down.

“So did I,” she said, softly.

Her eyes didn’t meet his yet, but her voice carried honesty.

“All the small things. Laughing. Arguing. Even your annoying way of praising the rasam like it’s some five-star dish.”

“It's better than five-star,” Ravi replied instantly, leaning forward.

“No chef on earth can match the way you crush the garlic.”

She burst into a short, surprised laugh.

“Crush the garlic? That’s what you focus on?”

“I remember everything,” he said, still smiling. “Photographic memory, remember?”

She looked at him now, directly.

A trace of amusement in her eyes, but something else too.

A softness that hadn’t been there a few days ago.

“You and your memory,” she muttered, picking up her spoon.

“Maybe it’s good you forgot a few things last week.”

He said nothing. Just watched her.

And as they ate, something began to flow again, not just conversation, but comfort.

Familiarity. Warmth.

She asked him about his meetings, about Sirisha’s project,

Even teasing him when he said he hadn’t finished laundry yet.

“Living with me has made you lazy,” she said with mock pride. “Wait till Amit hears that.”

“Amit would probably say it’s because I’m too pampered here.”

Priya smiled again, shaking her head. “Maybe you are.”

By the end of the meal, they were both leaning back in their chairs

Content, a little full, but mostly settled.

She looked around at the plates, then at him.

“This felt good,” she said quietly.

“Like how things used to be. I didn’t realize how much I missed it… until now.”

Ravi nodded. “Me too, Didi.”

Their eyes met. And stayed.

No confessions. No big moments.

Just two people, sitting across from each other, trying to find their way back.

And tonight, it felt like they were close.

Tuesday Night – A Dream Interrupted

The kitchen was quiet.

The dishes were done.

The air carried the warm scent of cumin and jasmine, with a trace of sandalwood from Priya’s perfume still lingering, soft as memory.

Ravi sat on one end of the couch, legs stretched, shoulders finally relaxed with an ease he hadn’t felt in days.

Priya joined him moments later, brushing her palms against her skirt before settling down, not too far, not too close.

Just… near enough.

They didn’t speak.

But the silence between them wasn’t awkward anymore.

It was slow, breathing, intimate, the kind that settles between two people who no longer need to fill space with words.

The air spoke for them.

She leaned into the cushions, elbow propped up, fingers lightly brushing her temple.

He turned toward her.

Her hair was still loosely pinned, a few strands slipping along her neck.

Ravi watched one curl dance along her collarbone, lifted slightly by her breath.

The low light made her skin look softer, warmer.

He couldn’t help but watch her.

No, feel her.

Her presence pressed gently into the space between them.

Not touching, but felt. Like the heat before fire.

There was no one else in the world just then.

Only her. Her nearness. Her scent.

The shimmer in her eyes that had returned tonight, tentative but real.

And she felt it too.

She sensed the way his gaze lingered, not hungry, not claiming.

Just… aware.

He wasn’t looking at her.

He was with her.

In the same moment, held by the same invisible thread.

Her fingers drifted from her temple to her lap, brushing the fabric of her skirt.

Her other hand stayed on the cushion between them, open, palm down.

Ravi looked at it for a moment.

Then, slowly, without thought, he moved his hand just slightly closer.

Still not touching.

But now their hands were inches apart.

She noticed. Of course she did.

Her eyes flicked to his, and this time, neither of them looked away.

Her breath caught, barely, and then released.

Steady, but softer.

He leaned in.

Barely a shift of his weight.

Barely a change in the angle of his body.

But it was enough.

She didn’t move away.

Their faces were closer now.

The air between them felt different,

Charged, but quiet. Her gaze dropped for just a second… to his lips.

And then back up.

“Didi…” he whispered, his voice almost breaking on the word.

It meant everything and nothing in that moment.

Her eyes didn’t flinch.

They searched his face, curious, unsure, wanting.

She tilted her head, just slightly. A breath away.

And he leaned in.

Just a little more.

Almost.

And then...

Rrring… Rrring…

The shrill sound of her phone cut through the room like cold air through warm water.

They both froze.

The spell shattered.

The screen lit up on the coffee table, Amit.

She blinked, as if surfacing from a dream, and reached for it.

Her fingers grazed his knee in the motion, unintended, electric.

Ravi sat back, pulse pounding, his chest tightening as the distance returned all at once.

“Hello?” she said, voice already shifting.

Pulling back into something else.

Something expected.

Ravi turned away, the silence between them suddenly loud again.

“Hmm?” she said, her tone sharpening. “What happened?”

A pause.

Then... “What?”

She stood abruptly, phone pressed close to her ear.

“Ventilator? When? Why didn’t you tell me this morning?”

Ravi’s head turned at the change in her voice.

Her face had drained of color.

Alarm, not just concern, shaped her features.

“Okay… okay. We’ll leave early morning? Or tonight?”

Another silence. Her eyes darted to the floor.

“Hmm… okay… yeah.”

She ended the call, but didn’t move.

She stood still, phone still in hand, the moment before flickering behind her eyes.

Ravi rose too, gently.

She didn’t speak.

“He’s… really unwell,” she said finally, her voice low.

“Amit’s father. He’s on a ventilator.”

Ravi’s expression softened. “I’m so sorry, Didi.”

She nodded faintly. “We have to leave. tonight.”

The warmth had vanished.

The air felt thinner now.

The moment, whatever it almost was, had folded in on itself.

He wanted to reach out.

Say something that mattered.

But she was already turning.

Already elsewhere.

And the couch behind them still held the echo of a breath they hadn’t taken together.

For a moment before I scrolled to read the next line I felt that they are going to kiss..but if it happens just like that what is the thrill. The writer in you made the call to shatter the moment.. Will wait again for the crescendo to build again!!! Wow!!!

Hi readersp

I'm so glad you felt that tension building. It’s exactly what I was hoping for.

That sense of anticipation is crucial, especially with Priya Didi at the heart of this story.

Everything revolves around her, and while the moment between Ravi and Priya could’ve unfolded with a simple kiss, I wanted to make sure it wasn’t that easy or shallow

This is about much more than surface-level attraction. Priya's character is layered and complex, and I’m building towards revealing her depth in a way that makes every small moment, every glance, carry weight.

Shattering that moment now allows us to explore the true emotional buildup and layers beneath the surface, it's all part of Priya’s journey

The crescendo is coming, but it’ll be earned, not rushed

Thank you for feeling the shift, I can't wait to build the tension even further as we dig deeper into Priya’s world.

Stay tuned… things are just getting started

Once again many thanks to you for your continuous support.

This truly helps me motivated and go on writing the story.

With warm regards

Wow... what an update!!! Your craft is simply amazing..the way you are approaching this story is something really special... you have a natural art of writing a novel...just one small request..if possible can you add some conversation and dailogues too..i know you have already thought about it but sometimes conversation with visual description can help to avoid monotony of slow burn write-up...its just a humble request... otherwise you are the best story teller i have read so far....

Hi Hotyyhard

Haha, you’re absolutely right! I know you were hoping for that first intimate moment, but trust me, it’ll be worth the wait.

Sometimes, the build-up makes it all the more powerful when it finally happens.

Priya and Ravi’s journey is full of these subtle, quiet moments that layer up until the emotional payoff hits.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the story so far! Thanks so much for your awesome feedback, I promise, the best is yet to come. Stay tuned for more!

You rock too!

PS:  The actual story is yet to begin.

With ward regards

Hi Raj087

Thank you so much for the amazing feedback!

I’m really glad you’re enjoying the way the story’s unfolding. Your words mean a lot!

I totally hear you on the dialogue!

The slow burn can sometimes get a bit heavy on the description side, so I’ll definitely work on adding more conversation to keep things balanced and fresh. It’s a great suggestion, and I’ll make sure to mix it up more moving forward.

I’m so grateful for your thoughts, it seriously helps me improve!

You’ve got me pumped to keep going, and I promise, the best is yet to come.

Thanks again for the encouragement ! Really appreciate that.

Warm regards

Hi Raj087

Thank you so much!

Honestly, if not for readers like you all, what would I do with this novel? I’m more than happy to listen to your feedback and adjust as needed.

It really helps me grow, especially since I’m still pretty new to writing stories.

All these input means a lot and keeps me motivated to keep improving. Can’t wait to share more soon!

Tuesday Night – The Sudden Goodbye

Ravi was still in the living room, standing like a man left in a dream too soon.

The scent of jasmine lingered.

So did the imprint of her presence on the couch.

That saree… her gaze… her closeness.

It was all still there.

But the spell had broken.

The front door clicked open.

Amit stepped in, slightly breathless, a backpack slung over his shoulder.

“Ravi!” he called, already pulling out his phone. “Can you help me for a minute? Priya! Come, start packing!”

Priya came out of the bedroom, her face composed, but there was a rawness in her eyes. She didn’t even glance at Ravi.

“What happened?” Ravi asked, walking toward Amit.

My father’s condition worsened.

The doctor said there’s no guarantee he’ll make it through the next 48 hours.

We’re flying tonight, there’s a 1:15 AM flight. My cousin booked it just now.

Need help with anything?” Ravi asked, his voice calm, but inside—he was sinking.

No, I’ll manage. Just… can you drop us at the airport maybe?” Amit asked, his voice tight.

Priya moved around the house quickly,

Packing, calling relatives, answering back-to-back messages.

Her saree rustled as she moved,

And yet it no longer felt like a moment of beauty, it was now armor, duty, the goodbye she didn’t get to speak.

Ravi stood silently by the door as they bustled through the chaos.

Thirty minutes later, they were packed.

Amit rolled the suitcase to the entrance.

Priya came out, clutching her handbag.

Her bangles jingled softly—like a final chime.

She looked up at Ravi.

“I’m ready,” she said quietly.

The softness in her tone was new again. Familiar. Fragile.

They walked down together.

The elevator ride was short and wordless.

But Ravi could feel her presence beside him—so near, so unreachable.

At the car, she hesitated for a moment.

Then looked up at him.

“Thank you… for today,” she said,

Her voice low. “For dinner. And… everything else.”

Ravi’s throat tightened. “Priya Didi…”

Her lips curved, somewhere between a smile and something sadder. “We’ll talk. Later.”

And then she got into the car.

Amit joined, and Ravi shut the door for them.

With a heavy heart and a thousand unsaid things trapped in his chest, he drove them silently to the airport.

The night outside was quiet.

The roads, nearly empty.

But Ravi’s heart was roaring.

1:30 AM – Back at 205

The house was cold now. Quiet. Still.

Ravi stepped inside. The lights were dim.

Her slippers were still by the sofa.

A faint scent of her perfume still hung in the corridor.

He walked past the living room.

Past the couch where she had sat.

Past the mirror that still had her reflection from an hour ago.

And into his room, where he closed the door softly.

The silence was too much.

He didn’t turn on music. He didn’t message anyone.

He just sat on his bed and let the weight of the night settle around him.

The saree.

Her eyes.

The almost-moment.

Gone.

All in one night.
