10. Thanks

A strange warmth enveloped me, a lingering sensation from my sister-in-law's unexpected affection. Her kisses replayed in my mind, a sweet distraction refusing to let my thoughts settle. My brother's impending trip to Hyderabad, a vague reason I hadn't quite grasped, now held a tantalizing promise: she'd invited me to sleep beside her that night. The anticipation was almost unbearable. I simply had to wait.

Friday arrived, and with it, college. Stepping into the familiar classroom, my eyes scanned the rows until they landed on Abhi and Kavya, deep in conversation on the fourth bench to the far left. A small smile touched my lips. I was about to head to the back when Abhi's voice cut through the hum of the room.

"Hari, come sit with us! There's space here."

I hesitated. Kavya would be in the middle. Was it awkward to sit like that? Or should I suggest Abhi move? Before I could decide, Abhi urged, "Come on, sit."

Kavya, seemingly sensing my indecision, adjusted her dupatta, which lay dbangd over the bench and cascaded onto her thighs, creating an opening for me. I settled down, and she subtly shifted, moving a fraction closer.

"You're early today?" I asked, breaking the silence.

"Abhi came to my house and picked me up on his bike," Kavya replied.

"Oh..." I mumbled, a little unsure how to respond.

Abhi, perhaps sensing the barrier Kavya created between us, leaned forward, craning his neck to talk directly to me. "Why don't you get a bike too, man?"

A flicker of awkwardness crossed me as I twisted my own neck towards Kavya, but there was no escaping the conversation. I leaned my left hand on the bench, resting my head against it. "There's only one vehicle at home. My brother uses it."

"Couldn't you get another one on EMI?" Abhi pressed.

"Buying me clothes and books is already too much for them," I confessed, my voice a little low.

"Why?" Kavya interjected, her eyes curious.

Abhi quickly cut in, "I'll tell you later."

A comfortable silence descended as the sir walked in. My gaze drifted to the front of the classroom, though my mind was far from engaged. Solid State Physics. I genuinely disliked the subject, and even more, the sir who taught it. He was projecting lattice diagrams, droning on about equations. I always suspected he either lacked true understanding or simply went through the motions for his paycheck.

My eyes remained fixed on the board, but a persistent whisper in my mind urged me to look at Kavya. Slowly, surreptitiously, I glanced her way. She had her elbow propped on the bench, her eyes closed.

What? She wasn't listening. Had she not slept last night?

I leaned in, whispering softly into her ear. "Kavya..."

She flinched slightly, her eyes fluttering open.

"Listen to the class," I urged.

"Shhh..." she whispered back, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Okay."

After lunch, the three of us found ourselves in the sprawling garden, fifteen minutes of freedom stretching before our next class.

"Why were you sleeping in class?" I asked Kavya, a teasing note in my voice.

Abhi burst into laughter, and Kavya playfully hit him on the shoulder. "No, I just closed my eyes for a moment."

"Oh, really?" Abhi drawled, his eyebrows raised.

"Hey, it's true!" Kavya insisted, feigning indignation.

"Stop it now," Abhi chuckled. "You only woke up because he saw you; otherwise, you would've slept well through the whole class."

"Whatever you think, I don't care," Kavya retorted, then turned to me. "Anyway, Krishna, why didn't you come yesterday?"

"Just because," I answered vaguely.

"Hey Abhi," Kavya suddenly exclaimed, an idea sparking in her eyes. "Let's do something. Let's make a group of three. If one of us doesn't come to college, we have to message.

"Yeah, sure," Abhi agreed, then winked at me. "I won't go, and you guys shouldn't go either. Today's a bandh, I hear. He's not like us. He comes to college every day."

"Yeah, I know," Kavya said, a familiar light in her eyes. "We saw him in degree, right?"

She saw me in degree? A flicker of confusion. Did that mean was my college from degree?

"How do you know?" I asked, genuinely puzzled.

Both of them burst into laughter. Kavya, a touch of shyness coloring her cheeks, covered her mouth with her hand.

"Hey, Kavya is from our class, man," Abhi explained, still chuckling. "Didn't you see her for three years?"

Kavya, peeking from behind her hand, chimed in, "For those who sit on the first bench, only the board is visible."

Their laughter filled the air again. I felt a blush creep up my neck. Being laughed at by a girl was a new, slightly embarrassing experience, and I instinctively turned my face away.

"Did you really not see Kavya?" Abhi asked again, a hint of disbelief in his voice.

"No..." I admitted, my voice barely a whisper.

Kavya, ever quick-witted, piped up, "Krishna is a good guy. He doesn't look at girls. You're there, and it's a sin to see girls; you look at them like you're going to eat them, you pervert."

"What, are you sulking because he's not looking at you?" Abhi teased, nudging her.

"I'll punch your face," Kavya shot back, feigning anger. "You'll find some flat-nosed girl for your face. Go."

"Oh, so you think you're an angel fallen from the sky?" Abhi countered, his grin wide.

"Yes, I'm an angel!" she declared with a playful toss of her head.

"Yeah, that's why you failed one subject in degree and cleared it in instant supplementary," Abhi retorted, clearly enjoying their banter.

"Don't bring that up!" Kavya groaned, a genuine laugh escaping her.

I felt a smile tugging at my lips. On one hand, their playful bickering was highly amusing. On the other, a sense of warmth settled in my chest. They were just friends, nothing more, and it felt incredibly nice to be a part of their easy camaraderie.

"Shall we go to class?" I finally suggested.

"Hmm, okay," Kavya agreed.

"Kavya, you go; we'll come after five minutes," Abhi instructed.

She playfully punched Abhi in the stomach, a quick, light jab, and then headed off towards the building. Abhi and I stepped outside, taking a quick cigar puff. From a distance, we spotted Mahesh, that guy, stopping Kavya in the corridor. Had she been there since then, avoiding class?

"Why does this guy always bother Kavya?" I asked, a frown creasing my brow.

"She called herself an angel, right?" Abhi shrugged, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "That's how it is."

Mahesh was walking beside Kavya, talking animatedly, while she continued to walk forward, seemingly trying to ignore him. A sudden fear gripped me. What if Mahesh raised his hand, put it on Kavya's shoulder? Without thinking, I bolted.

"Hey, what happened?" Abhi called out, surprised, scrambling to follow.

I ran, closing the distance between us. Reaching Kavya, I grabbed her hand. "Come on, Kavya, time's running out!" Before Mahesh could even process what was happening, before his hand could even twitch towards her, I pulled her, held her arm firmly, and the three of us sprinted towards our classroom, leaving a bewildered Mahesh behind.

*
The silence between us was thick, a tangible thing that hummed in the air. Kavya and I sat, absorbed in our own quiet worlds, while Abhi, ever observant, caught my eye from behind Kavya. A sarcastic smile played on his lips, a silent acknowledgment of my unspoken affection. I feigned indifference, my gaze unwavering, as if his knowing smirk held no power over me. He knew. He always knew.

Later that evening, the three of us gravitated to the canteen. Or rather, Abhi and Kavya conversed, their voices a comfortable murmur, while I remained a silent observer, content to simply listen. Soon, Abhi’s bike pulled up, its engine purring. Kavya, graceful even in a simple top and leggings, settled onto the seat sideways. My eyes were fixed on her, and for a fleeting moment, her gaze met mine, then darted away, a silent acknowledgement before she looked down. I offered a wave, and she returned it, a small, shy smile gracing her lips. I watched her ride away, a pang of something unidentifiable in my chest.

The walk to the bus stand felt longer than usual. After what seemed like an eternity, a bus finally arrived. I climbed aboard, found a seat, and plugged in my earphones, the music a welcome distraction.

Then, a notification.

“Krishna, I’m Kavya. This is my number, I just asked Abhi for it. Save it.”

My heart did a strange little flip. Me, who always stumbled over words with girls, never imagined a connection could form so effortlessly. It was a pleasant surprise, a ripple in the quiet pond of my usual shyness.

Home. The familiar rituals of washing up and quenching my thirst. Just as I settled in, Sandhya, walked through the door, Vedh trailing behind her. “Babai!” he shrieked, a small, whirlwind of energy, and launched himself into my arms. I scooped him up, pressing a kiss to his soft cheek.

“Babai… Choco…?” he murmured, his eyes wide.

“Didn’t Amma buy it for you?” I asked, a smile playing on my lips.

He shook his head, a definite “Uh-huh.”

“Okay, you drink milk. We’ll buy it later,” I promised.

“Hmm… I want Bisky,” he countered, his lower lip beginning to pout.

“But just now you said Choco?” I teased, watching his adorable little face. He pouted even more dramatically, then, with an adorable display, held up two tiny fingers. “Ba… Bisky… Choco…” he announced.

“Oh, you want both… Hmm… Okay, let’s go,” I chuckled, giving in to his charm. Sandhya, meanwhile, had already changed him out of his college uniform into a soft t-shirt.

“Hari, also buy half a kilo of idli rava,” Sandhya called out. “I’ll soak the idli batter for tomorrow.”

“Oh, I’ll get it,” I replied, and with Vedh’s tiny hand tucked in mine, we set off for the grocery store. We returned home with a packet of biscuits, a chocolate for Vedh, and the idli rava.

Sandhya had already made tea, its comforting aroma filling the house. I sipped mine while Peddamma lovingly fed Vedh milk-soaked biscuits. After finishing my tea, I carried the glass to the kitchen. Sandhya stood there, transferring freshly churned curd into a bowl, the end of her saree neatly tucked into her navel. The sight of her alluring waist fold, a glimpse of skin, was an instant magnet. I couldn't resist. A quick glance around, and then, a playful pinch to the soft flesh of her waist.

“Ouch…” she cried out, a playful swat to my shoulder. “Do all this with that girl from the photo.”

I grinned mischievously, my arms encircling her from behind, pulling her close. “Move, what is this?” she protested, but her tone lacked conviction. My lips found the soft curve of her neck, and she shivered, shaking her shoulder to dislodge me.

“Vadhina, you said you wouldn’t go to the temple yesterday, why did you go on time?” I whispered, my voice thick with feigned annoyance.

“Attamma asked me two or three times to come. That’s why I went,” she explained, a hint of defensiveness in her voice.

“I thought you’d be there, vadhina,” I murmured, pressing another kiss to the hollow of her neck.

“Oh, why?” she asked, a soft gasp escaping her lips. My answer was another deep, lingering kiss.

“Sh… let go, are you crazy?” she whispered, her voice a little breathless.

“I wanted to be with you,” I confessed, my voice muffled against her skin. She turned in my embrace, her hand coming up to cup my cheek, her touch feather-light.

“Go, Hari. This isn’t right,” she urged, her eyes full of a gentle plea. I held her face in my palms, my thumbs tracing the line of her jaw.

“What’s not right, vadhina?” I pressed, my voice low.

“Not like last time, now. When no one’s home, ask for a kiss, and I’ll give it. Go, Hari,” she insisted, her gaze softening.

“Only a kiss?” I teased, and a blush crept up her neck, her eyes dropping in shy acknowledgment. I kissed her cheek, and she pulled me closer, guiding my head into her lap. I buried my face in her neck, feeling the warmth of her skin, and she kissed me just below my ear.

“Think about it a little, Hari. It’s not good now. Wait until you get a chance,” she whispered, her fingers gently tracing patterns on my hair. My arm found its way around her waist, pulling her into a tight embrace.

“Ha… No, don’t,” she murmured, her voice a soft protest.

Just then, my phone rang. The sudden jolt of the sound was enough to break the spell. I pulled away, a sudden wave of reality washing over me, and stepped outside.

Kavya… Kavya was calling. Uff…

My heart pounded, a chaotic drumbeat against my ribs. It rang three times, and I debated whether she’d hang up, thinking I wouldn’t answer. But then, before I could slide the call button, it disconnected. Damn! I had to call her back. No, no, I decided, let me pretend to be a little busy, play it cool.

Then, it rang again. If I didn’t answer this time, it would be too much. I picked up.

“Krishna…” Her voice was a soft melody. Oh my! Radha must have called Krishna so sweetly too.

“K… Kavya…” I managed, my voice a little rough.

“Do you have a Netflix subscription?”

She called for this? That’s right, these girls, they only bother you if they need something. Otherwise, they won’t even look at you.

“No, Kavya.”

“Okay, Krishna. I’ll ask my friend then,” she said, her voice completely neutral.

“Did you ask Abhi?” I blurted out, a desperate attempt to keep the conversation going.

“He doesn’t have it,” she said, then, a curt, “Bye.” She hung up.

Couldn’t she have talked for two more sentences, anything?

I called her back.

“Yes, Krishna?” Her voice was tinged with a hint of impatience.

“Do you want an account?” I asked, surprising even myself with the offer.

“You said don’t have one, do you?” she responded, a hint of amusement in her tone.

“I’ll make one.”

“Do it. And send me the ID and password.”

“Okay.”

What? She just said “do it” without any hesitation, no “why bother yourself for me?” Was she the type to take advantage? No, no… that arrogance wouldn’t suit her.

Anyway, in a hurry, I created an account and got a subscription. I didn’t know what I’d tell Anna if he asked what I did with the money he GPay’d me. I opened Kavya’s chat on WhatsApp.

“ID: Hari000
Password: Harikrishna1$”

I sent the message. It got blue-ticked at 17:23. I waited until 17:43 for a reply, thinking she might say thanks. Nothing. She wasn’t even online.

Hey, how do I appear to you? Damn, I gave it away like a dog desperate for a bone. I felt irritated. I went inside and sat in front of the TV, the images blurring meaningless before my eyes.

That night, Abhi called.

“Did you eat, man?” he asked, his voice laced with the usual friendly banter.

“Yeah, just ate and walking in front of the house,” I replied, trying to sound nonchalant.

“Do you have a Netflix account? I know you probably don’t, but I’m asking if you’ve picked up on these kinds of things yet.”

“Shut up, idiot. Kavya called this evening. When she asked for Netflix, I got her a subscription.”

He was stunned into silence for a moment. “What? She called, you subscribed. Wow, you’ve really fallen for the girl, haven’t you?”

“Hey, put that aside, she didn’t even say thanks. No reply. It’s been three hours.”

Then, his laughter erupted, loud and boisterous. “Hahahahahahaha…..”

“Stop laughing,” I growled, feeling a fresh wave of irritation.

“How are you going to manage like this? Are you just going to do whatever girls ask immediately? That’s not how it works. When they ask, make them beg a couple more times. If you’re giving them something, you should get something in return, take a little advantage.”

“I don’t know, I just did it because she asked. But this is too much. Not even saying thanks isn’t good.”

“Haha… Okay, you made the account. That’s why I called. Alright, let’s meet tomorrow.”

“Good night,” I mumbled, cutting the call.

Would anyone really not reply at all? No, I felt like she deliberately didn’t reply. Kavya doesn’t even need to say thanks to me.

What’s the point of ‘thanks’ in love anyway?

11. Opportunity

After my phone conversation with Abhi, I returned home to find my brother engrossed in a game with Vedh, while my peddamma chatted amiably with my sister-in-law. A desire to spend time with Sandhya flickered in my mind, but I quickly realized that it would be impossible amidst the lively chaos. Instead, I retreated to my room, locked the door, and lay down, seeking solace in solitude.

The following morning, Saturday, as I made my way to college, I was struck by the sight of numerous students wearing masks. A wave of confusion washed over me. "What’s going on? After the lockdown, did they take COVID lightly, and now suddenly...?" I had forgotten to bring my own mask. "Let’s see," I thought, settling under a tree at the entrance, waiting for someone to arrive.

Abhi and Kavya were yet to show up, and with half an hour until class, I occupied myself by observing the scene around me. Just then, Kavya wearing green mask approached, pushing her hair back with a casual grace.

“Where's your mask?” she asked, her voice muffled yet clear.

“I didn’t bring one,” I replied, feeling a twinge of embarrassment.

“Didn’t you see the message from the university yesterday? Cases are rising again in Karimnagar. We need to wear masks and be careful,” she admonished.

“Oh, I didn’t see it,” I admitted, feeling a bit sheepish.

“Has he not come? You go and get a mask,” she urged.

“Okay, wait, I’ll be back,” I said, turning to leave.

I stepped outside, purchased a mask from a nearby vendor, and returned to campus. On my way back, I spotted Abhi near the gate. As the three of us made our way to class, Mahesh appeared, striding towards us with an air of confidence. Mahesh instinctively stepped forward, blocking her path.

My annoyance with Mahesh had been growing day by day; his persistent harassment of Kavya was becoming unbearable.

“Hey Kavya, why did you leave as soon as he held your hand yesterday?” Mahesh taunted.

“Class time was ticking,” Kavya replied, her voice steady but her body tense.

“If you miss something in class, I’ll tell you. I’m a senior, so if you have doubts, ask me,” he offered, a smirk playing on his lips.

“Hey Mahesh, I have a doubt in Newtonian physics, can you tell me now, please?” I interjected, trying to divert his attention.

“No way, I’ll only tell Kavya. Right, Kavya...?” he said, pulling down on her mask with his finger.

Kavya’s expression shifted to one of flustered discomfort. He was about to invade her personal space, and I could sense her fear. Why didn’t she speak up?

“Hey, don’t touch her...” I said, my voice rising slightly.

“Why, what’s it to you if I touch her?” Mahesh shot back, his bravado unshaken.

“An uncle Kavya’s next door died of COVID. That’s why I didn’t even get a shake hand today. You shouldn’t touch her either,” I replied, my heart racing.

For some reason, a person's life is precious, and I felt compelled to defend her. Mahesh took two steps back, momentarily taken aback.

“I need to go to class,” Kavya said, her voice firm.

“Okay, go,” Mahesh relented, stepping aside.

The three of us continued to class, settling onto a bench, our hands resting on our faces as we exchanged smiles.

“What if you end up killing that uncle next door, Krishna?” Kavya teased, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

“I just said what came to my mind,” I replied, shrugging off the gravity of my words.

Just then, our Solid State Physics professor, Sir Srinivas, entered the room. Ah, his name was... well, we simply called him Srinu sir.

“Huh… he came, the painu (insect - headlice)...” Kavya giggled, her laughter infectious.

Abhi and I shared a chuckle, the tension of the earlier encounter dissipating.

“Hey, why do you even give him nicknames?” I asked, genuinely curious.

“Well, does he say anything? Other than showing pictures and walking around the board like a lice?” Kavya quipped.

“Hey, if you listen, what do you think he’ll say?” Abhi countered, a grin on his face.

“Yeah, hush...” I replied, settling into a comfortable silence as we prepared for class.

As the lecture began, Kavya leaned slightly against my shoulder, a gesture that sent a warm flutter through me.

In a hushed tone, she whispered, “You should come regularly to college. That Mahesh guy waits for me near the corridor like a villain. He looks at me like that. But you’re doing well to keep him away.”

I turned my head towards her, our masks nearly brushing against each other.

“Can’t I do that much for my friend?” I asked, my heart racing as I searched her eyes.

For a fleeting moment, our gazes locked, a silent understanding passing between us.

“Kavya - Harikrishna, look at the board here. You can look into eyes after college hours,” he instructed, his voice echoing in the room.

What did he just say? All eyes turned towards me, and I felt my cheeks flush. Kavya quickly turned her face away, a hint of embarrassment coloring her features.

In that moment, I realized that at least four people in the room had likely woven a story between Kavya and me, a narrative rumour that was just beginning to unfold.

-

The classroom emptied, and as Sir walked out, Abhi caught sight of Kavya and me.

"What's up?" Kavya asked.

"Nothing," Abhi mumbled.

Kavya rolled her eyes. "That louse has nothing better to do."

I stayed silent, turning my face towards the board, pretending to be absorbed in some imaginary equation.

"Krishna, seriously, what's with you?" Kavya nudged me. "You could have talked to me without staring."

"It's fine," I said, a little too quickly. "Just let it go."

The second period brought our Muraleedharan Mama, not Muthayya, and with him, the complexities of gravitation. He lectured in a smooth, confident flow until, mid-sentence, he abruptly turned and posed a question to the class.

"What is the gravitational force acting on a freely falling body?"

Before anyone else could react, Kavya shot up, a confident smile on her face. "g = 9.8 m/s²!"

A wave of self-pity washed over me. I'm such a fool for letting my feelings get involved with her.

"No," Sir said, his voice firm. "Anyone else?"

Akhil piped up. "Zero, sir."

"Ah, zero. Right." Sir nodded and resumed his lecture.

Kavya huffed. "Honestly, even in PG, he asks questions like we're in kindergarten."

"But you also got so excited and jumped up like a little kid, didn't you?" I couldn't resist a sarcastic chuckle.

"Stop it!" Kavya snapped, her eyes narrowing. "You always act like you know everything!"

Abhi, ever the mediator, chimed in. "How were you so confident, though?"

"It's just acceleration due to gravity," Kavya stated, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"I thought that too," Abhi admitted, "but he was quiet, so I figured something was up and kept my mouth shut."

Kavya turned to me, her gaze challenging. "Why isn't it correct, Krishna? Tell me."

"I'll tell you later," I said, a mischievous glint in my eye.

Later that evening, Abhi zoomed off on his bike, leaving Kavya and me at the college gate.

She was waiting for an auto, and I lingered beside her, planning to walk to the bus stop only after she was gone.

"You go, Krishna," Kavya said, a hint of concern in her voice. "I'll leave when an auto comes."

"It's nothing," I replied, shrugging. "I can leave after you."

She lifted her eyelashes, a playful glint in her eyes. "What, are you still thinking about what Sir said?"

She truly believed she was some kind of angel. And she was, in a way. But she also had a touch of arrogance, and I couldn't resist playing with it.

"Just because Sir said it doesn't mean anything, does it?" I said, leaning in slightly. "Anyway, angels like you will find an Indra or a Chandra. They'd never look at a Krishna Purushottam like me."

She turned fully towards me, a puzzled expression on her face. "No. Did you just belittle yourself or praise yourself?"

"What did you think?" I countered.

"I don't understand," she admitted.

"Go home and put some Zandu Balm on your knees," I said, teasing.

"Hmm," she hummed, then instantly realizing my jab, she smacked my arm. "What do you mean? You idiot, go away!"

I burst out laughing.

"I'm not talking to you anymore," she declared, though a smile played on her lips. "You're so arrogant because you study well. I ask you a doubt, and you say you'll tell me later."

"Haha... sorry, Kavya," I managed between laughs.

She turned her face away from me, her shoulders shaking with silent laughter.

For some reason, no autos were coming. The road stretched empty before us.

"Come on," Kavya said, finally breaking the silence. "Let's walk to the bus stop. There will be autos there."

"Okay, whatever you want," I agreed.

We walked side by side, the road bustling with people. It was difficult to walk abreast, so we fell into a staggered rhythm. Past a hotel, the crowd thinned a little.

"So, you live at your brother's house, right?" Kavya asked, breaking the silence. "Where are your parents?"

"They are dead," I replied, simply.

She gasped. "You just say it so directly? You shouldn't say that. You should say they're not here, or they went to heaven. Do you say 'dead' so bluntly?"

"The meaning is the same, Kavya," I pointed out.

"Hmm," she hummed, absorbing my words.

We walked on.

"You were a state ranker in Inter, right?" Kavya continued. "Why didn't you go into engineering?"

"I don't know," I admitted. "I just wasn't interested. I just wanted to do PG."

"Will you do a Ph.D. later too?" she asked.

"I might, but I need to find a job first, like a teacher," I said. "How many years can I depend on my brother, you know?"

"Hmm, that's true," she conceded. "Sometimes I feel like doing a Ph.D. too. But what can I do? I'm just lazy when it comes to studying."

"Then why PG?" I asked, genuinely curious.

"Just because," she shrugged. "At least I'll have a degree. If my kids ask me someday, I can tell them I did PG."

"Oh," I said, feigning surprise. "oh you’re married, I thought you weren't married." I’d wanted to tease her.

"What? No, I'm not!" she exclaimed, a blush creeping up her neck. "I was just saying!"

"Oh," I said, dragging out the word.

"So, do I look like I'm married?" she challenged, mock anger curling her lips.

"Oh, no, no, no!" I laughed, shaking my head.

"You're intentionally mocking me!" she accused, then giggled. "Oh my god, Krishna, you're so quiet in front of everyone, but when no one's around, you're like this! You really is Krishna!"

I laughed, a warm, genuine laugh that echoed between us.

Just then, an auto pulled up beside us.

"Where to, madam?" the driver asked.

"Ashok Nagar, brother," Kavya replied.

"Get in, madam."

"Okay, Krishna, see you Monday. Bye!" she called out, climbing into the auto.

"Yeah, bye!" I waved.

The auto pulled away, and as it receded into the distance, she poked her head out the window and looked back at me.

I wondered, did this girl like me, or did she just see me as a friend? Whatever it was, at least I had a (girl)friend to tell people about.

*

The college routine was a monotonous loop: arrive, leave. For someone like me, life unfolded in a dreary, predictable pattern. You might wonder why I maintained such a strong narrative continuity initially, only to describe a mundane back-and-forth between college and home. But as I said, that's just how my story goes.

Finally, I was home. The same old routine: brew a cup of chai in the kitchen, then savor it. Chai was my lifeblood. Without it, a throbbing headache would inevitably set in. It was chai that crowned me a topper, and it was chai I relied on to become a teacher someday. Chai wasn't just a drink; it was emotion, it was motivation.

My sister-in-law, Sandhya, my beloved, drifted into my room, her nighty adorned with a delicate rose pattern.

"So," Sandhya began, her voice a playful tease, "did you finally talk to that girl, or are you still staring like a blob of lentil paste? You've had years to stare at me, since I'm stuck at home. College is only for two years, you know."

"Keep low tone vadhina," I whispered, glancing around nervously. "Peddamma might hear."

"Come here," she beckoned.

I rose and walked towards her. She gently pulled me down onto the bed beside her.

"Why were you so late today?" she asked, her gaze steady.

"Couldn't get a bus quickly," I mumbled, avoiding her eyes.

"Oh," she hummed, a knowing glint in her eyes. "I thought you might have been with that girl."

"I was, for a bit," I admitted.

Sandhya then pulled up her nighty, revealing her pale, slender legs. She straddled me, her soft bottom resting on my thighs. A sudden heat surged through me, and my pants strained. Her underwear brushed against me, sending a jolt through my system.

She placed her hands on my shoulders, her touch light. I met her gaze, adoration shining in my eyes. She returned my look, a playful bite to her lip. I leaned back, supporting myself with my hands on the bed.

"Ugh, what is it?" she teased, her voice a low purr. "You're already poking so much for just this?"

"Vadhina," I said, my voice husky, "I never thought you'd be this open."

"What can I do, dear?" she sighed dramatically. "No matter how cocooned I try to be, my desires always get in the way, don't they?"

I reached out and gently held her waist. "What desire?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.

"You tell me," she challenged, her eyes twinkling. "What desire do you have?"

"To bite this Sandhya vadhina like a sandwich," I confessed, my voice laced with longing.

Her lips grazed mine, a slow, sensual tease. "It's my desire to be bitten by you like that," she whispered, her voice laced with an intoxicating blend of desire and mischief.

I squeezed her waist, eliciting a soft "Mmmm…" from her. She cupped my head in her hands.

"Shouldn't we bring Ved?" I asked, a sudden thought striking me. "Isn't it time, vadhina?"

"Your brother said he'd be home a little early today," she replied, her fingers tracing  patterns on my scalp. "He'll pick him up on the way."

"Oh, really?"

She placed a finger on my lips, silencing me. "Maridhee, will you fulfill your vadhina's desire?"

"I'm just wondering if brother won't fulfill it," I replied, a hint of playful defiance in my tone.

"Not your brother, dear," she murmured, her voice laced with an undeniable longing. "I want you to fulfill it."

"But why me?" I pressed, curious.

"I don't know," she confessed, her gaze softening. "The way you look at me, the way you praise me, how you enjoy my cooking... maridhee, you do like your vadhina, don't you?"

I lifted my head and kissed her neck. She tangled her fingers in the hair at the back of my head, pulling me closer, pressing my face into her neck.

"I swear on this neck, vadhina," I whispered, my voice raw with emotion, "I like you very much."

She grabbed my hair, tilting my head back, and then our lips met. Her full, luscious lips devoured mine, biting them like ripe, bitter gourds. My hands found purchase on her waist, pulling her closer. Her nighty rustled against my pants, her underwear rubbing against me as she shifted.

"Umm… vadhina…"

"Maridhee," she breathed, her voice a low moan, "don't misunderstand me, but your vadhina has a bit more of these desires, dear… your brother isn't quite enough."

"Don't say that, vadhina," I protested, a blush creeping up my neck. "I feel shy."

She took my right hand and placed it on her left boob. "That's why I like you, dear," she purred. "I thought of giving you many opportunities when you were studying for your degree."

"Umm…"

I grabbed her braid with my left hand and kissed her lips again, our tastes mingling. My grip on her breast tightened.

"Umm… Hari," she gasped. My thumb grazed the hardened, pea-sized nipple beneath her nighty.

"Ohh…" she moaned softly.

"You don't wear a bra at home, do you?" I whispered, my voice thick.

"Hmm… maridhee catches on with just a glance," she teased, a playful smirk on her face.

I pressed my thumb against her nipple again.

"Ahh…" she sighed, a delicious tremor running through her.

"Should I thank Ved?" I asked, a mischievous glint in my eyes.

"Why, dear?"

"Because he did this for his chaacha , didn't he?" I replied, a sly grin spreading across my face.

"Oh, why would you say that, dear?" she chided, though a hint of a smile played on her lips.

I rubbed my palm around her swelling breast, as if lathering it with soap. "They've become so plump since he came, haven't they?"

"So, what, maridhee?" she challenged, a teasing note in her voice. "Are you saying they weren't before?"

"It's not like that," I insisted, my voice softening. I bent my head and kissed her boob, feeling a shiver run through her as she melted into me.

"You've always been beautiful," I murmured, my lips damp against her nighty. I rubbed my finger over the wet spot again.

"Ohh, Hari…" she moaned, her voice filled with longing.

"I want it, vadhina…" I whispered, my desire palpable. "I want to take it."

"I want to give it to you, dear," she confessed, her voice barely audible.

I curled my fingers from below and squeezed, eliciting a soft "Mmmm…" from her.

"Give it, vadhina?" I urged, my voice hoarse.

"It's not the right time, dear," she whispered, her voice tinged with regret.

"The more you delay, the plumper they'll become," I countered, my voice low and urgent.

"I'll give it to you, dear," she promised. "When I do, use your arrogance to drain their plumpness with tartness."

"Should I only drain the plumpness, or anything else?" I pressed, my voice playful.

"Ugh, you idiot," she chided, a playful slap to my arm. "Wasn't the prick enough for you, kid?"

I kissed her again in the same spot, my lips lingering. "The fever won't go down completely unless the needle pricks correctly, will it, vadhina?"

She kissed my forehead. "Hari, time's running out. That's enough."

"Just with a kiss this time too?" I grumbled, disappointment creeping into my voice.

"For now, make it with this, dear," she said, her voice gentle.

"But my hunger doesn't seem to be decreasing, vadhina," I protested.

"I thought I'd let you drink milk if you came early today, but you delayed it," she said, a hint of amusement in her voice.

"Sorry," I mumbled.

She began to pull away from me. "Wait," I said, holding her close.

"Brother will come," she whispered, her voice firm. "Be a good boy. When brother goes to the village, you can be my bad boy."

"Nothing until then?" I pleaded.

"I'll give you a chance, maridhee, just let the opportunity come," she promised. She finally pulled away from me.

"Vadhina, one minute," I said, a sudden thought occurring to me. "Why is brother going to Hyderabad?"

"Our Uncle Mohan is buying some building in Hyderabad, apparently," she replied. "He's taking your brother with him for that."

"Hmm, okay."

I released the breath I hadn't realized I was holding. Four more days crawled by, each one a testament to my impatience, until finally, Thursday dawned again. Today was the day I had to take Peddamma to the temple for the Annadanam. My plan, meticulously (if somewhat guiltily) crafted, was to invent some excuse to leave early, securing a precious window of time with Vadina, from 10:30 to at least 12:30.

I went through the motions of bathing, and soon after, Peddamma did the same. Vadina had made payasam, a sweet, creamy pudding, and I savored every spoonful. I watched as she, too, retreated to her room to bathe. A flicker of dismay went through me—Vadina was going to the temple again. This golden opportunity, it seemed, was slipping through my fingers once more.

Yet, a sense of calm settled over me. There was tomorrow. Vadina herself had promised that if Annayya went to Hyderabad, she would let me sleep next to her. That thought was a comforting balm, easing my immediate worry. I finished the payasam, placing the empty bowl aside, the sweet residue still on my tongue.

Then, she emerged from their room. She was wearing a nightie. My heart leaped. Vadina wasn't going to the temple.

The opportunity hadn't just come;
it had arrived with a flourish.
This, truly, was the celebration I had been waiting for.

12. Fantasy

My mind, a restless sea of imagination last week, was suddenly calmed by my sister-in-law's unexpected announcement: she was going to the temple. But even as the words settled, a storm of desire brewed within me. I craved to kiss her, to my heart's content, especially when Peddamma, wasn't around.

I fantasized about biting her lips like rose petals—kissing the swan-like curve of her neck, enticing the Veena-like grace of her waist. My lips yearned to make her milky cheeks tingle, my fingertips to caress her lotus-like thighs to their fill. I wanted to prostrate myself at her anklets, my lips pressed against them. And through it all, I longed to hear the low hum of her sweet passion, a cuckoo's song in my ears, her fragrance becoming my very breath.

This tapestry of desire, however, remained woven only in my mind. It didn't happen, and those unfulfilled longings lingered, a persistent echo in my imagination.

Then, Thursday finally arrived.

Without a word to my elder brother, I skipped college. He left, oblivious, and I dropped Ved at college before returning home. Peddamma had already bathed and was ready for the temple. My sister-in-law, meanwhile, was preparing payasam. As I headed to my room, she asked why I'd skipped college, and I simply mumbled, "Nothing." After my own bath, she offered me a bowl of vermicelli payasam. I took it, settling into the hall to eat and watch TV.

By the time I'd finished my payasam, she emerged from her room, fresh from her bath, wrapped in a nightie. A wet towel, turban-like, encased her hair. Right before my eyes, that graceful woman moved towards Peddamma, her Veena-like curves swaying with each step. The soft jingle of her anklets accompanied her movement, setting my nerves alight, ready to dance. She continued on, disappearing into the back of the house.

"Chinnoda," Peddamma called, "did you eat? Shall we go to the temple?"

"Peddamma, yes… let’s go. Wait, I’ll get the bike."

"Okay, go… I’ll tell vadhina and come out."

I went to get the bike. Perhaps she was shaking her hair at the back of the house, her wet tresses flowing as she came to the front with Peddamma. I kicked the bike to life, helped Peddamma settle on, caught a glimpse of my sister-in-law’s moon-like face in the side mirror, and rode off.

At the temple, we prayed, took holy water and prasad, and Peddamma settled in the mandapam courtyard.

"Peddamma, I'll go and come back at twelve."

"Okay, go… I don’t have a phone, Chinnoda. If Nikhila Akka comes, I’ll tell her to call you, otherwise, you come after twelve."

"Yes, okay, I’ll come."

Since learning to ride a bike, I had never ridden so fast. I sped home, adrenaline coursing through me. I dismounted, parked the bike, and took a deep, steadying breath. No, I couldn't rush this. I had seen enough family dramas with Sreekanth and Jagapati Babu. The heroes in those films, with children around, always played it cool, walked slowly, cornered the heroine in the kitchen, engaged her in conversation, and then asked for a kiss! I had to follow their lead.

Quietly, I closed the gate, making barely a sound. I left my slippers two feet from the doorway and walked into the house like a predatory tiger.

Silence. No sign of my sister-in-law.

Perhaps she was in the bathroom. I closed the main door and crept into my brother's room. Still no sound from the bathroom.

As I turned, something soft brushed against my chest. My passion ignited. I wrapped my arms around the beauty that had embraced me.

"I knew you would come, you thief," Sandhya whispered.

Even though she had bathed, I savored the scent of sweat, a sweet aroma of her cooking, on her neck, and kissed her.

"Mmm… Is this why you skipped college today?" she murmured.

"What else can I do, Vadina," I whispered back, "It’s not about opportunities coming, all I know is creating opportunities."

She lifted her head, her eyes burning with desire. I bent down and kissed her nose. She rose on her toes; I lowered my head. Her grip tightened at the back of my head, and I lifted her, cradling her Veena-like waist. The same sweetness, the same passion enveloped us. Our warm breaths mingled as our lips met in a thick, fervent kiss. Small, tender kisses followed.

As I unbuttoned my shirt, I held her cheeks, my lips tracing her upper lip. "Earlier, I had doubts," she confessed, her voice husky, "I wondered if you would come. I knew after hearing the bike sound."

"The privilege of worshipping you is greater than seeing God, Vadina," I murmured, my right palm cupping the jackfruit-like mound below her waist. I continued kissing her neck, and she began to hum sweet melodies in my ear.

"Iss… Do whatever you want in an hour…" she breathed.

I licked the soft flesh of her neck.

"Ahh…"

She pulled my shirt down. I released my hands. She kissed my heart, her fingers gently caressing my chest. My right hand moved from her "jackfruit" to the "mango" she was rubbing against my chest. My fingertips, veiled by the thin, soft fabric of her nightie, pierced her gbang-like breast through the layers of cotton.

"Are you going there already?" she whispered, her voice laced with a playful gasp.

"There are still many peaks and valleys to travel, Vadina," I replied, my voice raspy. "If I have to do all that in an hour, I have to hurry." Yes, I was rushing. I didn't know why, but not only did I have a foul mouth, I also ate a lot of sweets. I was a sugar addict. Not a disease, but a mess.

I squeezed the "mango" in my palm.

"Abbah," she moaned softly.

I pulled the nightie down from her shoulder. She silently allowed me, and I pulled it further, until half of the fruit basket was revealed. The first fruit, a small "gbang," gleamed like a silver pot, wet with sweat. She took her hand out of the nightie sleeve. I let go of it and placed my handprints on the soft surface of the fruit, measuring its juiciness as I squeezed it. My sister-in-law's body trembled sweetly.

"Ahh… Hari."

I didn't want hard kernels from the temple. I wanted my sister-in-law's milky coconut. I looked into her eyes. She gazed back at me, a mixture of love, lust, desire, and intoxication swirling in their depths. swallowed, sweat trickling down her forehead, a little flustered. She brushed my hair back from my forehead and shyly lowered her face.

I slid my hand underneath, lifted it, and brought it to my mouth. I put it in my mouth and sucked it like coconut halwa. She held my head, pressing me closer. As I played with it with my tongue, she moaned, writhing in my grip.

"Abba… If I had known you'd suck like this, I would have given you some milk, maridhee."

I grabbed her, wrapped my arms around her back, pressed her against me, and bit into the pulp of the milky coconut pulp in my mouth.

"Aaa… Abba… You rude donkey."

I let my saliva drip onto her lap and looked up. Again, I grabbed it and smeared my saliva on it. She looked at me in ecstasy and delight and pulled down the nightie on her right side too. The upper became naked. I grabbed the bottom of the basket, stopping the nightie at her waist, and hid her nakedness. I immersed my face in the beautiful valley of her silver milky coconut mountains. Sweat shimmered like icecaps.

Her scent, a mix of sweet sweat and something uniquely her, became my undoing. On that bed, soft as cotton and white as milk, I felt like I was adrift in the Milky Way, every nerve thrilling with a pleasure that bordered on madness.

My body was a horse ready for the ride, rising and throbbing with a lust I was sure my sister-in-law could sense.

"Hari..." Sandhya's voice was a soft sigh.

I varied the pressure and angle of my lips, raining kisses upon her.

"Mmmmmm... You've grown so fond of me, haven't you?" she murmured, her voice husky.

My lips found her left breast, biting and releasing, leaving a tell-tale red mark.

"Isss..."

"This isn't a new fondness, vadhina," I whispered, pulling back slightly.

Her chest rose and fell with heavy breaths, her warmth a delicious friction against my cheeks.

"Ha.... I know," she replied, a knowing tone in her voice.

"Uh..." I couldn't form a coherent thought.

I took her breast into my mouth again, sucking gently. Her body trembled in my embrace.

"Ash... A little slower," she pleaded, but there was no real protest in her voice.

My sister-in-law's warmth, the intoxicating scent of her youth, and my own surging excitement—nothing could stop this. Like a frenzied puppy, I devoted myself to her beauty, my sister-in-law's sweet moans echoing in my ears.

She pressed my head down with her right hand. Following her unspoken command, I descended, burying my lips in her navel.

"Mmm..."

Releasing her waist, I moved my hands upwards, cupping both her breasts in my fists. She placed her hands over mine, squeezing gently. I squeezed back, harder.

"Abba... S... You'll crush me, you bad boy!" she gasped, half-laughing.

"Take your hands off, vadhina," I instructed, my voice thick with desire.

She complied, her hands falling away. She then caressed my head. I squeezed again, this time with a tender touch.

"Mmm ha... Did you measure them, ah... You're squeezing them just right."

"Yours are just right, vadhina, exactly as they should be to a beauty in ripe age," I affirmed, my voice a low rumble.

"Mmm..."

My left hand squeezed her right breast while my right hand pulled her nighty down past her waist. Her soft belly, pale as warm butter, gleamed before me. In its center, like a 25 paisa coin, was a tiny, dimpled Karimnagar balushah. The sight of it made my taste buds leap, yearning for its sweetness.

I kissed that small belly button, and she shivered, gripping my head. I continued to suckle on that 'raisin' with my lips. Sandhya must have been biting her lips, swaying with the sensation. I extended my tongue, poking it into the dimple of her 'balushah.'

"Aba... Your brother never even kissed it, you know," she breathed, her voice a mix of surprise and pleasure.

That confession fueled my excitement. I intensified my exploration, my tongue digging into her navel.

"Ah... Mmm.... Hari..."

I bit the soft skin below her navel, showering her with kisses, leaving my saliva as a testament to my fervor. The thrust of my tongue made her fleshy navel sway. I gripped that soft skin with my front teeth, biting gently. A jolt seemed to go through my sister-in-law, as she instinctively grabbed and squeezed my ears.

She seemed incapable of speech, and I, of leaving her body. We tumbled onto the bed together. I moved between her thighs, my lips still at her navel. My hands delved under the hem of her nighty, my fingers burrowing beneath her thighs, squeezing her buttocks, softer even than the cotton bed beneath us.

"Mmm... You're squeezing everywhere," she moaned.

"Hmm... If there's so much fat, squeezing is unavoidable, vadhina," I teased, my voice muffled against her.

"Mmmmm... So you saw me when I was delicate, what did you think of doing then?"

I moved up, stopping my chin before her face, and kissed her lower lip. "Back then, just looking at your beauty was enough. You used to be like a celestial angel, and I would worship you like a goddess."

"Hmm... And how am I now?" she asked, a playful challenge in her eyes.

I gripped the fold of her left waist between four fingers, squeezing gently.

"Sss... Tell me first...."

"Then you were a goddess of beauty, and seeing that beauty was a great fortune," I repeated.

She took my hand and placed it on her right 'pot.' I squeezed it, lifting it, then kissed her neck. "Now you've become a tempting Rati Devi (sexgoddess). Just seeing you isn't enough. I must worship you."

She kissed me, her lips soft against mine. "How will you worship? What will you do?"

Looking into her eyes with a smile, I reached her feet and held both her soles against my cheeks. She tried to pull her legs back, but I held them firmly. I kissed her big toes.

Playfully, she put that toe into my mouth, laughing softly. I sucked and kissed it, a thrill running through me. Gradually, I ascended, kissing her legs, passing her knees, and reaching her thighs.

The nighty, now a crumpled mass, only covered her waist and her secret 'bell.' I lustfully kissed her soft thighs, like corn cobs smeared with cream. She silently gestured for me to come up, holding my head. I obeyed her unspoken command and moved upward.

With her right hand, she reached into my pants, caressing the ready 'mane of the horse.'

"Don't be nervous. I'll teach you," she whispered, her voice a seductive purr.

She unzipped me. I took her hand, brought it up, and placed it on my back. "I know, vadhina."

"Aha....." she scoffed playfully, her hand moving down again, unbuttoning my pants. Her hand slipped inside my underwear, like searching for a cowrie in a nest, caressing my 'tube' and rubbing my 'balls' with her fingertips. That touch stole my breath, a wave of pleasure washing over me.

"Hah..." I gasped.

She played with them with three fingers, and I started to tremble.

"Vadhina, stop!" I pleaded, though my body betrayed my words.

She grabbed my neck with her left hand, lifted my head, and claimed my lips in a deep kiss. During the kiss, she pulled out my bamboo,' measuring it with her palm lines. I moaned blissfully into her mouth, sucking her lips, then moved my tongue over her lips, licking her cheeks.

"Hari..."

She released me and slid her hand inside her nighty on the right side, pulling the underwear band up to her thigh, revealing it to my gaze. Seeing the black band, my hands moved of their own accord. I pushed away her hand, grabbed the band, and pulled it down. The left side band also slipped down slightly. I held both sides and pulled them down to below her knees. She freed one leg, spreading her thighs in a silent invitation.

I tore off my own pants, not even registering where they landed. My sister-in-law closed her eyes, a blush spreading across her cheeks as she became shy at my nakedness. I got back onto the bed, positioning my knees between her thighs, leaned over her, and kissed her forehead. She opened her eyes, her pupils joining with mine.

I held her nighty, moving it up towards her navel. Below the white, milky hill of her stomach, a pink 'lake' glowed like a lotus flower, wet with her juices.

"Don't just look like that, do something,... I'm going crazy down there."

As Vadhina sighed deeply, not being to stop, i moved the horse near her lotus pond. As it touched there she had shivered with ringing rage of tingles through her thighs.

“ mmm... ” she left heavy moan biting her lower lip.

Feeling as if whole body weight is centring to the thighs, i bent my knees to press myself against her velvet petals.

Vadhina squeezing her thighs a little as a reaction of jolt she felt with my touch, “ aah hari... ” a loud sweet sweet moan escaped her lips.

While rubbing on her wet petals teasing a bit, felt the fevery warmth of her deep steams of lust.

Sandhya grabbed my hand tightly gripping and said, “ don't play hari... Please put it in .. ”, she requested sweetly.

With building excitement, my thoughts got blurry.

I can hear waterpump motor started in neighbouring nikhila sister's home. I think it takes atleast fifteen minutes to fill that water tank on the roof.

Vadhina forwarded her right hand into my thighs and caught me in her soft fingers.

“ push it maridhee”, she gave me the direction.

I followed as if she is the one who rules over me. I am the slave of her beauty.

I obeyed my queens ordeal.

My red shining mushroom got vanished into her red wet petals.

“ aaaahhhhhh.... ”, sandhya let a cry with my push.

It's hard enough for me to enter inside her.

I respected her Honey with my hot shaft, started entering even deepen slowly into those velvet walls.

Sandhya eyes shut, thighs shivered, moaned in a submissive craving manner. “ aah... Wait dear .. issss ”

Couldn't, just couldn't. Tearing the velvet walls, reached the depth of her honey pond.

Trembling with tremors of nerve sensations, “ aaaah... ”, she made a heaving scream.

Pulled me over her, started smooching my lips.

“ mmmm ... Mmm... ” all that we would utter.

As I left her lips, “ is that it, Vadhina? ”, i asked innocently a glean in my eyes.

“ mmm...  ”, she nodded with ecstasy.

As I stepped into the small, murky, nectar-filled pond, it bound my thighs with lotus strings.

I started moving in a swift. Tearing her inner walls with my meaty sword.

Even though there's a two inches still remaining outside the side walls that might cause harm if I enter. Vadhina felt small in front my stature.

“ aahh... .mm.. ”, she let out moans as I continued the dance.

Scratching my back with her nails, she caught under me like a trembling fish.

Never showing mercy on her lotus pot, I just kept stabbing it with my penis.

She felt short of breath, “ ah... Hari slowdown... Oh no ”

I pulled a bit of mine outside, I got showered with a white juice, in next second again shoved it in.

“ aaah... ”, she exclaimed.

I gave two more hard shots.

“ oh my god.... You're spoiling me... ”, vadhina shouted hardly under me.

“mmm”, i noted with a deep breath.

Sandhya caressing my cheeks, “ you got into depths, that your brother never stepped dear ”, she pouted naughtiness.

“ shall I swim more then ” I asked proudly

Vadhina permitted with small satisfactory, “mmm ”.

Our intertwined breaths, the rhythm of our bodies, the motor's hum transforming into music, joined by my sister-in-law's moans of "Ahh... ss... Ahh... ss" as a vocal harmony – I listened to that song with all my ears and increased the speed of the sex ride.

Like the sound of hooves, the rhythm of our intertwined bodies began its own Mridangam beat.

Tightly grasped the curves of her "Veena," and her vertical lips giving blowjob for my bamboo flute, as I intensified the drumbeat on that swelling waist fat.

Her breath coughing with each tremor. I can see how erotic her facial expressions were while I'm fucking to the core.

“ aah .. aah abba... Oh god... ”, that's all she kept yelling while I'm fucking.

“ shut up Vadhina, please ”, i closed her mouth a hand.

The rhythm ignited a passionate frenzy within me, driving my excitement and rage to scale the stars. Reaching the peak, I began a furious drumming. My sister-in-law cried out, 'Ah...ss...amm...ss,' creating a symphony of moans. To celebrate planting my flag, I unleashed a torrent of semen into her honey-filled hive.

From there, happily and breathlessly, I sank into the heavenly clouds and fell, tired, onto my sister-in-law's heart. She affectionately hugged and kissed me, putting me to sleep. I closed my eyes blissfully, smelling the scent of sweat.

The drone of the motor ceased, and Sandhya, my sister-in-law, gently nudged me aside. She slipped off the bed, her movements fluid as she donned her full nightie. Then, with a quiet grace, she picked up the panty I’d set aside and put it on.

“I’ll wake you at twelve,” she murmured, her voice soft. “You’re going to Peddamma’s, remember?”

I reached for her hand, pulling her back down to me. “You lie down next to me too.”

She hesitated, her gaze drifting. “I have to cook. What will I tell Auntie if she comes?”

A playful grin touched my lips. “Tell her you fulfilled her younger son’s wish.”

“Oh! Is there anything else you want?” Sandhya teased, a hint of laughter in her eyes.

“Haha…”

She settled onto my thighs, leaning into me, her arms wrapping around my back. “Just one fear,” she confessed, her voice dropping to a whisper. “We won’t get caught, will we?”

“We’ve already done it,” I countered, pulling her closer. “Why be afraid now?”

“No matter what, what we’re doing is wrong, isn’t it?” Her voice was tinged with a familiar guilt.

I tightened my embrace, holding her close. “Forget all that.”

“Hmm.”

I found myself wondering, why did she give me this opportunity without fear, even though she felt it was wrong? Had she developed feelings for me, or was it simply to fulfill my desire?

“Hari…” she began, her voice barely a whisper.

“Hmm…”

“Can I tell you something?”

“Tell me, Vadina,” I prompted, my gaze fixed on hers.

She swayed shyly, avoiding my eyes.

“Tell me,” I urged again, a soft smile on my face.

“Not with my husband, I felt more pleasure with my maridhee,” she confessed, her voice almost inaudible.

That was all I needed. I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her deeply.

“My sister is very lucky, Hari,” she sighed as we broke apart.

“Sister means your pussy?” I asked, confused.

She playfully slapped my chin. “Chee, naughty. Sister means my co-sister-in-law. Your future wife.”

“Haha… Did you like her that much?” I chuckled.

“Hmm…”

“We have another half an hour,” I mused, a mischievous glint in my eye. “What should we get into action one more time?”

She sat up, a shake of her head. “No, that’s enough.”

I sat up too, resting my head on her shoulder, idly playing with her hair. My left hand instinctively found its way behind me, cupping myself. Even with half its strength, it began to stir, filling with blood at the mere touch.

“Is there anything else you want to ask, Hari?” she asked, her voice laced with a knowing amusement.

I looked directly at her, and she turned her face away, a blush rising to her cheeks.

“Vadina, why?” I pressed.

She struggled for words. “What do you mean, why?”

“Exactly,” I clarified. “Why did you do this?”

“I don’t know, Hari,” she admitted, her voice soft. “Being with you all this time, I developed feelings not just for him, but for you too. I really liked the way you looked at me. When you slept next to me, even if you were innocent, this desire grew in me.”

I gently turned her face back towards me. She responded by hugging me tightly.

“Letting you put your hand on me gave me a pleasure that wasn’t there with your brother,” she confessed, her voice barely a whisper. “Even though it felt wrong at first, I really liked holding your hands and pressing them when you were asleep.”

I kissed her cheek, my heart pounding.

“I used to think,” she continued, “what’s wrong with having two husbands, you and him?”

Two husbands? I wondered, a surprised expression on my face. Seeing my reaction, she kissed my chin playfully.

“Yes, Hari,” she affirmed. “I don’t know what to say. I liked everything: you appreciating my cooking, you staring at me, talking and teasing me, making me laugh, respecting me, and also being mischievous with me.”

Again, I gently laid her back down, pulled up her nightie, and was about to push my aroused self between her thighs. She stopped me, her hand resting firmly on my stomach.

“No, that’s enough,” she said, her voice gentle but firm.

I looked into her eyes, silent, my desire evident.

Hesitantly, Sandhya whispered, “I think it’s better to use a condom.”

I backed away, understanding. She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling herself up to sit on my thighs.

“Create another opportunity sometime, Hari,” she pleaded, her eyes earnest. “We don’t want to get into trouble.”

I kissed her lips, a deep, lingering kiss. “I really liked your fantasy, Vadina.”

“What?” she asked, a confused frown on her face.

“The one about two husbands,” I clarified, a smile playing on my lips.

She giggled shyly, her cheeks flushing.

“Okay then,” she said, pulling away, “go to Peddamma’s; I have to cook.”

“Vadina,” I asked, “when does Anna leave tomorrow?”

“He’ll go after duty in the evening and will be back by Saturday afternoon,” she replied.

“Hmm…”

She leaned in and kissed my nose. “I’ll make you sleep next to me tomorrow. But only putting your hands on me.”

“Okay…” I agreed, a soft smile touching my lips. “Just sleeping next to you is enough for me.”

“Put on your clothes, you’re not like you were as a kid, you donkey,” she teased, a playful glint in her eyes.

“Haha… Okay.”

A while later, fully dressed and feeling refreshed after splashing water on my face, I headed to the temple.

“It’s okay if any fantasy doesn’t go overboard.

13. Second husband

I searched for Peddamma at the temple, finally spotting her in the meal line. She invited me to eat, but the thought didn't appeal, so I left.

Back home, the aroma of moringa sambar filled the air, a dish Sandhya, had prepared. I savored the moringa pieces, no, I just slurped the sambar, enjoying every bit.

Later that afternoon, as conversations buzzed in the house, I retreated to my room, seeking solace in my phone. My mind, however, was a blank slate. I idly scrolled through Instagram, flicking through photos of various heroines. It was then a strange thought struck me: why bother with them when Sandhya's beauty was all I needed?

My thumb instinctively pressed the home button, navigating to my gallery, to the folder I'd secretly created for Sandhya's pictures. Yes, the reason for taking them was exactly what you're thinking. I leaned in, kissing a photo of her waist. Just then, the door creaked open.

Sandhya stood there, her braid pulled forward, a shy smile playing on her lips. Made my phone instantly go dark.

She came in, settling onto the bed beside me. "Are you looking at that girl's photos?" she teased, her voice a soft murmur.

"No," I replied, feigning innocence, "just Browsing Instagram."

She leaned in, her whisper tickling my ear. "Auntie is asleep."

My heart pounded. I couldn't wait another second. I turned my head, my lips finding hers in an instant.

"Mmm," she hummed, a soft sound of acquiescence. I gripped her shoulder, gently biting her lower lip.

"Mm... Stop," she murmured, but her resistance was fleeting. My kisses trailed down her neck.

"Why stop?" I whispered, my voice hoarse. "Hmm... Isn't this why you came now?"

She pulled my face back, her hands cupping my cheeks, effectively halting my progress.

Our eyes locked, a deep, silent conversation passing between us.

"How do you feel about me?" she asked, her gaze unwavering.

"How can you even ask, Vadina..." I began, my voice trailing off as I moved her braid aside, kissing the gentle curve of her neck. "I thought you might stop me."

"If I was going to stop you," she purred, "I wouldn't have told you, darling."

I rose, quietly closing the door, careful not to make a sound.

"Why did you close the door?" she asked, a playful glint in her eyes.

Without a word, I shed my shirt, falling onto her, pressing her back against the bed. My lips devoured hers in a passionate kiss.

"Hmm..." she sighed, melting into me.

"Wouldn't it have been better if you wore a saree?" I mused, pulling back slightly.

"Why?"

"I want to see your waist."

"Hey darling," she chuckled, "wasn't what you saw an hour ago enough?"

"I just want to keep looking. If you were in a saree, you'd drive me even crazier, Vadina."

She pulled my head to her chest. "Mmm... If you want to see, take this off and look, you closed the door, didn't you?"

"If I take this off," I countered, "I won't just want to see your waist."

She kissed my earlobe, her voice a husky whisper. "Did I say you should only look at that? Look at everything."

"Hmm... I will."

I rose, kneeling beside the bed. She pushed me gently, making me lie down. Her fingers deftly unbuttoned my pants, unzipped them, then slipped inside, pulling me out.

"Ss..." I hissed, a shiver running through me.

"You've really poked me with this, maridhee," she teased, her eyes sparkling.

"If you ask, I'll poke you again," I retorted, a smirk playing on my lips.

She lifted her nighty, revealing the absence of underpants. Her womanhood, moist and ready, beckoned to me once more. "See," she whispered, "I came for you just like this."

I moved back, then sat up, grabbing her waist and pushing her gently onto her back. I buried my face in her nighty, pressing kisses to her navel.

"Mmm... Hari," she moaned softly.

"You're making me so wet, Vadina."

"Me too getting wet, Hari."

I lifted her nighty above her waist, my hands cupping her buttocks as I lifted her, pressing my face into her navel. She made me sit on the bed, then straddled my thighs, her chest pressing against my face. I wrapped my arms around her back, holding her close.

"Hari...?" she murmured.

"Tell me, Vadina?"

"You didn't mind me stopping before, did you?"

"No, Vadina. I'll do whatever you say."

"You're my little darling."

My left hand found her right breast, gently cupping it. "So, will you give me this?"

"Hmm, take it." She moved her nighty aside, revealing her breast, which I took into my mouth like a ripe cherry.

"Umm..."

"Hh... Kiss me, why are you sucking?" she gasped. My sister-in-law had no idea how much I had yearned for this, watching her secretly as she fed Ved milk. I ignored her words, pressing my lips and sucking.

"Aba... You won't listen."

"Uh-uh... I won't listen. These are just for me."

"And for your brother?"

"No, only for me."

"Shall I tell you something?"

"Hmm... Tell me, Vadina?"

"Your brother kisses me until I get in the mood, but he doesn't stop. He just does it hastily."

I squeezed her boob fully in my hand once, then released it.

"Mmm..."

"What about these?"

"Poor things, he doesn't pay attention to them. They've been so empty all these days."

I gently pinched her nipple.

"So how did they get so chubby?"

"Don't you know, I just gained weight."

"Yes. You look even cuter after getting plump."

"Your brother strength has decreased, darling."

"Oh really?"

"Hmm, I don't know, it's decreased a lot lately."

I gently laid her down, pulled down my pants, and settled between her thighs. "Should I take off my nighty?" she asked sweetly.

"Yes..." I leaned forward and took it off myself. She lay before me, naked and exquisite, like a marble Greek sculpture. I also shed my pants, touching the head of my penis to her entrance.

"Ah... A little slowly, maridhee. You made it hard the first time." I leaned over, kissing her cheek.

"Sorry." She stroked my cheek, then kissed me, before reaching down with her left hand, guiding me to her.

"So, are you going to put it in... or do you need anything else?"

Her question stirred something in me. I hesitated, unsure if she would follow through or say something else, so I remained silent. She moved back and sat up.

"What happened, Vadina?" I asked, confused.

She leaned forward, applying her saliva to my meat, rubbing it with her right hand. The sight of it sent another wave of arousal through me. "Ah....."

"This little one is too big, darling. It's making it difficult, so a little bit like this would be good." I held her shoulder, lifted her up, and kissed her lips.

"If it was that much, you should have told me. I was in my own frenzy."

"I couldn't deny your frenzy."

"No, Vadina, I'll tell..."

She kissed my lips, silencing my words. "I told you, I'm okay. I like it when you do that. Don't ask like your brother, 'Should I do it or not? Is it okay or not?' Just understand me a little, take care, and go on."

I held her waist and slowly thrust inside. "Ah... Oh my... You understood so well." As I moved halfway in and out, she held my hand and squeezed. I pulled out.

"Put it in...", she gasped.

I felt something was still missing. I leaned over, burying my lips between her labia. "Aahh... Hh..." She grabbed my head. I spat on her petals, then got up and thrust in another inch.

"Mmm..." She moved her hips to accommodate me. As I thrust my hips, pushing in and out, moving side to side, she bit her lip and trembled. It slipped completely and snugly inside.

"Aahh...." I pulled it out halfway and thrust again.

"Mmm..." Our eyes met, locking in a shared moment of intense pleasure.

I could feel Sandhya's labia rubbing against my shaft deep inside. Her eyes were closed, lips parted, and her breath came in short, quick gasps. A wave of excitement washed over me. Gently, I moved her left thigh aside with my right hand, resting it on my own. As I began a slow, deliberate thrust, she seemed to swallow me whole, a rush of fluid greeting my every movement.

"Ah..." she moaned, a soft whisper.

"Look at me, Sandhya," I urged, and our eyes met.

I continued my slow thrusts, my glands trembling with anticipation. The frenulum of my penis grazed the lower edges of her labia.

"Ahhh... yours looks restless," she breathed, her voice a mix of pleasure and something else, "but when you make love to me, it feels like heaven, Hari."

"Heaven is in your pussy, Sandhya..." I countered, and with that, I delivered a strong, deep thrust. She gripped my shoulder, pressing into me.

"Aahh..." The sound was stifled, caught in her throat.

I bent my neck, covering her mouth with mine. She bit and sucked, a fierce urgency in her movements.

"Don't do hard," she whispered against my lips, "I can't stop screaming."

"But when your husband hit, not much came out," I countered, a mischievous glint in my eye.

"You and your brother have no competition," she murmured, a hint of something unreadable in her tone.

"How?" I pushed, delivering another powerful thrust. My testicles brushed against the joining of her buttocks. She bit her lip, stifling a moan that threatened to escape.

"Abba... yours isn't going in completely," she gasped, "how can I endure it if you thrust like that?"

"Is that why you're screaming?" I asked, a faint smile playing on my lips.

"Hmm..." she conceded, a soft sound.

I found myself oddly captivated by her labored breathing, the way she struggled to contain her cries. Biting my upper lip, I pressed my knees into the bed, increasing the rhythm of my thrusts. She clenched her fists, holding onto me tightly. "Mm... Mm..." she groaned, the sounds muffled against my lips as she tried to stop me. But I didn't. I continued, thrusting fully and completely.

Her hands found my waist, pressing against my back, then she stopped, pulling me into a tight embrace. A single tear escaped her right eye. Seeing it, I paused, releasing her lip.

Breathing heavily, she began to whisper something like, "Shh... Don't..." but I covered her mouth with my hand. I knew I was causing her discomfort, but a primal desire within me craved this intensity.

With my left hand covering her mouth and my right gripping her left thigh, I continued pumping hard. I felt no resistance; her fluids seemed to invite my strength. The bedsheet, caught beneath my knees, wrinkled and moved forward with each thrust. Sandhya spread her thighs a little wider, accommodating me, and I pressed on.

Neither of us could catch our breath. I was getting winded, but she pulled me closer, leaning over me. We embraced, warm and ecstatic, and I increased the speed of my final thrusts. I removed my hand from her mouth.

"Oh fuck, oh fuck, cum already, please..mmm..." she cried into my ear, her voice thick with tolerating emotion.

"Hah... It's over," I gasped, delivering a final, hard thrust.

"Ah... one..." Thump.

"Two..." Thump.

"Three..." Thump.

"S... Sandhya..."

And then, it was over. I exhaled deeply, moving to the side. She closed her eyes, resting her hand on me, leaning into my warmth.

"The bedsheet is ruined," she murmured, a hint of amusement in her voice. I looked down; the bed was indeed wet near her buttocks.

"I don't know anything. It's because of you," I teased.

"Alright," she sighed, "I'm the one who'll wash it anyway."

I wrapped my right arm around her back, pulling her closer. She looked up at me, her eyes soft.

"Let's pick up vedh on the way back from the market," she suggested, her voice a gentle murmur.

"Okay, Sandhya," I replied, pulling her closer still. Her softness felt warm and comforting against my chest. I inhaled her scent and gently kissed her forehead.

The phone blared, shattering the stillness. I started to rise, but Vadhina's grip was firm, pulling me back down onto the bed. I lay beside her, my gaze fixed on the glowing screen. Kavya.

"Vadhina..." I whispered, a silent plea.

She nodded, a subtle agreement, and I gently placed her hand on mine before answering Kavya's call. "Hello..."

"Hello Krishna," Kavya's voice chirped.

"Kavya?"

"Why didn't you come today?" she pressed, a hint of accusation in her tone.

"Uh, I didn't. No reason." My excuse felt weak, even to my own ears.

"What do you mean, you wouldn't just not come?" Kavya's persistence grew. "You didn't come last Thursday either. Do you have some work on Thursdays?"

Vadhina's fingers brushed through my hair, a comforting rhythm, and then she leaned in, a soft kiss on my cheek.

"No, nothing like that," I replied, trying to sound casual. "Last week I had some work for Peddamma, today I just didn't feel like coming."

"Hmm..." Kavya hummed, unconvinced.

In the quiet pause, I leaned over and silently kissed Vadhina.

"Krishna, internals next month they noticed," Kavya announced, pulling me back to the conversation.

I pulled away from Vadhina's lips. "Mm.... Oh... Really?"

"Yeah... The notice just came today."

"Oh, okay."

"Krishna..." She drew out my name, a lingering sound.

"Tell me?"

"Nothing."

"What is it, Kavya?" I pressed, sensing there was more.

"Nothing."

"Okay..." I changed tack. "Is Abhi there?"

Kavya laughed, a light, airy sound.

"He's not?"

"Yeah... He likes a girl in the M.A. department, he went to see her."

"Oh really?"

Vadhina stirred, about to leave, and I subtly signaled for her to stay.

"Yeah, he didn't tell us," Kavya continued.

"One minute, Kavya," I interjected, setting the phone on the bed. I got up, wrapped my arms around Vadhina, and kissed her ear. "Are you leaving because I didn't pay attention?"

"Ch... No Hari..." she murmured, her voice soft. "I'm going to my room."

"Come, stay for a bit." I inhaled the scent of her neck, then kissed it.

Picking up the phone, I rejoined the conversation. "So, Abhi found a flat-nosed girl?"

"I haven't seen her, but he's really excited. He says she's super."

"Oh really, if she's so super, why would he get her, I'll try for her." I teased, a smirk playing on my lips.

"Shameless," Kavya scoffed, but there was a hint of amusement in her voice. "Poor him, he found one girl, how can you try for her?"

"So you mean she'll fall for me?" I pressed, curious.

"Is there anyone who wouldn't fall for you?" she countered.

Her words hung in the air. Had she fallen now? Or was she simply complimenting my looks? The arrogance of beauty, I mused, made me doubt her true meaning.

"Meaning...?" I prompted.

"It means you look good, right?"

"Hmm...."

"Hmm... what?" she challenged. "I'm telling you as a friend. Don't think anything else."

"I didn't say anything just now."

"Okay, I'm hanging up."

"Okay, see you tomorrow." I ended the call, then turned to Vadhina, pulling her towards me. With a playful shove, I sent her tumbling onto the bed, then climbed on top of her, settling in.

The following morning, as I stirred from sleep, my first question to my brother was about his trip to Hyderabad. It turned out Uncle Mohan, the man we’d met at the wedding, planned to buy a building for his daughter’s fiance – a precautionary measure for his daughter’s future, he’d explained. My brother’s presence was requested for advice and assistance.

I was just about to step out when the skies unexpectedly opened. Thinking it would pass quickly, I settled down to wait. About half an hour later, the downpour subsided, leaving behind only a few lingering drizzles as I finally ventured out.

The bus journey was uneventful until we reached town. To my surprise, the streets were completely dry; not a drop of rain had fallen there. It seemed the rain had confined itself solely to my village.

By the time I arrived at college, half of the first Solid State period was already over. I hurried to class, slipping in quietly. The professor didn’t utter a word, and I took my usual seat beside Kavya. Ten minutes later, the bell rang.

“Why were you late today, man?” Abhi asked, breaking the silence.

“It rained where I live,” I replied. “It’s dry here.”

“There were drizzles here in the morning,” Abhi conceded, “but it didn’t really rain.”

Kavya, for her part, remained silent. We didn’t talk much after that, the class time passing in quietude.

During lunch, Kavya ate with the other girls. After Abhi and I finished our meal, while we were chatting, I suddenly remembered Kavya mentioning a girl yesterday. I turned to Abhi.

“Who’s that girl from M.A.,?” I asked.

“Oh, her…” Abhi began, his eyes lighting up. “Last week, I was on my bike, coming to our university, and she was in auto. I saw her.”

“Is she good? Have you started hitting on her?”

“Yeah… She’ll come near the canteen today too.”

“Come on, let’s go there.”

As we started to get up, Kavya approached us.

“Where to?” she inquired.

“Just to see that M.A. girl,” I answered.

“Okay, I’ll come too.”

“Why you?” I asked, a hint of surprise in my voice.

“Come on, you too,” Abhi interjected.

So, the three of us headed to the canteen.

Stopping in front of the canteen, Abhi leaned in and shared the details of his crush. “Her name is Meenakshi,” he whispered, “she’s doing M.A. English. She comes by bus from Jagityal village.”

“Did you talk to her?” I pressed.

“Yeah…”

Even Kavya seemed unaware of this. “When, dude?” she asked, her curiosity piqued.

Abhi grinned, a happy smile spreading across his face. “Yesterday, I followed her bus on my bike and eyed her near the Jagityal bus stop.”

“Oh, then?” Kavya urged.

“She came and talked,” Abhi recounted, a flush of pride on his cheeks. “She said, ‘You’ve been watching for a week. You don’t have the courage to talk. If you’re like this, I won’t fall for you.’”

I hadn’t expected that. “Is that true, or are you just telling us stories?”

“It’s true, man. She said that. I didn’t know what to say, I mean, how should I talk like that for the first time? She said, ‘Don’t you know I’ve been watching you all these days?’”

“Oh, what else did she say?”

“She said she’s not interested,.” Abhi’s triumphant grin faltered slightly.

“If she said she’s not interested, why did you bring me here today?” I challenged.

“I mean, dude, some girls fall in a week, some in a month…”

“Oh, stop it,” I interrupted, rolling my eyes. “I know that dialogue. Does a caterpillar stop if the leaf has thorns? It has to chew the leaf, right?”

He looked at me strangely.

“Single meaning, not double meaning,” I clarified.

Kavya turned her face away, perhaps annoyed by my antics.

Abhi, however, quickly turned his head, his pupils dilating as he looked in the distance.

Kavya and I followed his gaze.

A girl was approaching, clad in a green Punjabi dress and carrying a side bag. She was taller than Kavya, with a dusky complexion. My gaze, almost involuntarily, fell upon her bust. She was tall, and her heels only added to her height. As she walked, my eyes remained fixed on her bust, while Kavya, I noticed, was watching me.

“She’s good, right?” Abhi whispered, pulling me out of my trance.

“She’s not super, she’s a bumper figure, man,” I exclaimed.

Kavya pinched my hand. “What?” I asked, rubbing my arm.

“He just asked you to look. He didn’t ask you to look of yourself.”

“I’m looking?”

“Look at her face.”

With a mischievous wink, I replied, “I’m looking at her face, what did you think?”

“Don’t lie. Ugh…” Kavya groaned, clearly exasperated.

Abhi, meanwhile, seemed lost in some dream world, oblivious to our banter.

“What ‘ugh’?” I pressed.

“Hey, go… Abhi, go talk.”

“What should I talk about?” Abhi asked, startled from his reverie.

“Just ask something. Phone number, Insta ID. Ask.”

Abhi, with a hesitant nod, started towards Meenakshi.

As soon as he was out of earshot, Kavya took my hand and turned me towards her. In her eyes, there was a flash of anger, no, jealousy. Is it?

“What did I tell you on the phone?” she demanded.

“Yeah, you said I shouldn’t try.”

“Then why are you looking at her like you want to devour her?”

Bending down slightly, I confessed, “It’s true, Kavya. I feel like devouring her, if she’s like that in a churidar, then even more…”

Kavya covered her mouth in feigned shyness. “Stop it, pervert.”

“Hey…” I continued, pressing my advantage. “I’m saying how good she’d look in a saree.”

“Don’t change the subject. You’re a dark humour guy. Just a topper by name.”

“Hey, I didn’t say anything. I’m saying her figure is good. You’re thinking all sorts of things.”

She lowered her head, a blush creeping up her neck. “I didn’t think anything either. You just gave me a gap.”

“I didn’t give a gap, you interrupted.”

“Hey, stop. You don’t know how to talk to girls, but you look at them as if you’re ra-p-ing them with your eyes.”

“So now you’re feeling bad that I’m not looking at you?” I teased, enjoying her discomfort.

“What’s it to me if you look or not. I’m not jealous.”

“I didn’t say ‘jealous’ just now,” I pointed out.

“Anyway, I came with you guys just to watch you hitting on girls,” she huffed, crossing her arms.

Just then, Abhi returned, a dejected look on his face. “What happened?” I asked.

“I mean, I went there. But I’m scared to talk.”

“Come on, let’s go to class,” I said, sighing.

“Give me some idea, man?” Abhi pleaded.

Kavya, with a mischievous smirk, interjected, “He doesn’t have that much of a bravo, anyway.” She mocked me, and I shot her an angry glance. She simply turned away, laughing softly.

As we stood there, chatting, Manjusha, a short girl from our class, approached us. I watched her, observing how she looked at me, coming shyly. Abhi, noticing her, subtly moved aside. Kavya remained silent.

Manjusha stopped in front of me, nervously fidgeting with her fingers. “Krishna…” she began, her voice barely a whisper.

A sudden thought crossed my mind: Something’s off here. My voice wouldn’t come out. A girl coming and fidgeting in front of me, wanting to ask something? What in the mind this girl got?

“Hmm…” I managed.

“Can I talk?” she asked.

“Sorry… Why?”

“Well… I mean… you’re handsome.”

I was speechless. I looked at Kavya, who, with a knowing smile, grabbed my ear and turned me back towards Manjusha.

“I’m interested in you…” Manjusha confessed, her voice a little stronger this time.

To be honest, I disliked the idea of entertaining a girl’s interest just to pass the time and then reject her. I liked Kavya, and it wouldn’t be right to give Manjusha false hope.

“Manjusha,” I said, my voice firm but gentle, “I’m not interested.”

She looked at me in shock. “Let’s meet and talk in the evening, if you don’t mind.”

“No,” I replied, without hesitation. “You’re short, I don’t like you.”

Kavya let out a burst of laughter.

Manjusha glared at me, and then at Kavya with the same intensity, before turning and walking away.

“You said it right to her face,” Kavya commented, still chuckling. “You’re arrogant, aren’t you, because you’re tall?”

I couldn’t resist teasing her. “Anyway, why are you laughing, you’re short too.”

She instantly bristled. “Who’s short, huh? They call someone short if they’re really short like her. I’m not that short.”

“You’re shorter than me, aren’t you?”, pressed onto face.

“Pffft….” She wrinkled her nose in disgust. “I’m going to class….”

We followed Kavya, a comfortable silence falling between us as we walked.

The last words between us had faded, leaving an unspoken silence in their wake. Later that evening, after Abhi’s farewell and departure, Kavya and I walked towards the bus stop. She remained quiet, her anger, I presumed, a lingering echo of my careless remark about her height.

As we continued, a light drizzle began, a gentle patter that quickly escalated into a full-fledged downpour. With no shelters in sight and the trees offering little refuge, we broke into a run, the rain quickly drenching us. We finally reached the bus stop’s meager shed, a haven already crowded with others seeking escape from the sudden deluge. A throng of people, men and women alike, pressed in around us.

We were already half-soaked. To Kavya’s right, two middle-aged men edged closer, making her visibly uncomfortable. A flicker of worry crossed her face, a concern about unwanted contact, amplified by her wet dress clinging to her. Unable to bear her discomfort, her head bowed in embarrassment, I instinctively reached my right arm around her back, resting my hand on her shoulder, a silent barrier against the encroaching embarrassment.

She looked up, her gaze meeting mine. I felt a blush creep up my neck and shyly turned my face away. She, in turn, lowered her eyes, a flush of embarrassment coloring her cheeks.

As one of the men moved even closer, I gently pulled her nearer to me. She nestled her left shoulder against my chest, a tentative, almost childlike hug, careful to maintain a modest distance. She felt warm and trembled slightly, like a frightened chick—perhaps from the cold.

I silently observed her face. Slowly, she lifted her eyelids, her eyes meeting mine once more.

Noticing an old man’s elbow brushing her waist, cause of crowd settling in, from the front, I subtly moved my hand down to block it and, in a fluid motion, drew her into my lap placing my fingers on her wet dress.

Surprise bloomed in her eyes, and her cheeks turned a vivid red, as though kumkum had been delicately applied instead of sandalwood paste.

My gaze settled on her pupils, brimming with a loving intensity. She met my stare, a shy smile gracing her lips, her body still trembling from the chill. My eyes drifted past hers, past the damp strands of hair clinging to her nose, finally resting on her strawberry lips. A subtle stirring within me, a recognition of their allure, pulled my gaze further down, past the V-neck of her blue top, until a sudden little slap from.

I turned my face towards the road. My fingers instinctively curled on her wet top at her waist, a light, possessive hold. Her palm pressed against my chest, her fingers crumpling my shirt in her fist. The cold wind, the rhythmic music of the rain, the distant chatter of the crowd—all faded into the background, replaced by the intoxicating, magical fragrance of her hair that enveloped me.

"It would've been good if I'd asked Abhi to drop me on his bike," Kavya mused, breaking the spell.

"Hmm…" I responded, lost in the moment.

"I have to go by auto today too. It's hard to get off at my stop in the middle if I take the bus and walk."

"It’ll stop soon," I murmured, "Just for a bit."

It was then I realized I had never asked for her home address. "Where's your house?" I asked, a sudden curiosity.

She looked at me suspiciously.

"Which direction?" I clarified, "One day you come by auto, another day you get off at this bus stop and walk?"

"Mine is Ashok Nagar, next to *** Kalyana Mandapam," she replied.

A pleasant surprise washed over me. "The bus I take has a stop there."

"Yeah, I know," she admitted.

"Then why didn't you tell me all these days? We could have come together, right?"

"The bus is usually full by the time it comes from your town this way, right?" she reasoned.

"True," I conceded. My hair, still damp, was now drying, and a bead of water trickled from my chin onto Kavya’s nose. I looked into her eyes, and with my left hand, I gently wiped it away. Her cheek felt incredibly warm against my fingers. I longed to keep my hand there, but a sense of impropriety held me back.

Just then, the bus for my town arrived. "Let's go... you get off at your stop," I suggested.

The bus seemed packed, with no empty seats in sight. "Don't you think another one will come?" she asked, a hint of hesitation in her voice. She could have easily opted for an auto, yet she questioned the bus’s capacity.

"It's better to get home somehow than to stay in the rain, Kavya. I won't leave you alone in the rain either."

"Okay..." she agreed.

We both boarded the bus, standing in the middle aisle. Four more people squeezed in behind us. Kavya faced forward, in the direction the bus was moving, while I stood facing her. At the next stop, more passengers boarded, and the bus became completely jammed.

I had no choice but to step forward, pressing almost against Kavya. Both of us, slightly uncomfortable, clung tightly to the overhead rods.

When the conductor approached, I bought a ticket for my town, and Kavya purchased a local ticket. Afterwards, I bent my neck, bringing my face closer to Kavya’s, as my head was now brushing the rod above. Her lily-like eyes intertwined their gaze with my pupils. How utterly adorable she was.

Her eyes, like starlight illuminating lamps in heaven.
Her shyness, like childlike laughter blushing with happiness.
Her nose, like the beauty of flowers rejoicing at the sun’s arrival.
Her lips, like ripe cherry pieces yearning for a taste.
Her cheeks, like hibiscus flowers capturing the winter’s dampness.

Kavya’s face brought poetry back to me, the very same poetry that had first emerged for… her. Remember?

Lost in these reveries, gazing at Kavya, she suddenly stirred, telling me her stop had arrived and asking me to move aside. I leaned in, whispering "Be careful... Bye" in her ear, happily savoring the lingering fragrance of her hair one last time.

———(

The rain had subsided by the time I got off the bus in my village. I slowly made my way home, carefully navigating around the muddy puddles on the road.

My brother must have gone to Hyderabad.

As soon as I stepped through the doorway, Vedh came running and hugged me. I picked him up and chatted with him for a while. Soon after, my sister-in-law came with tea, and I sat down to drink it.

Since my brother wasn't there, I was the one who helped vedh practice writing letters, showed him rhymes on the phone, and played with a ball in front of the house until he was tired and wouldn't let go of me.

Two hours with Vedh passed very easily for me.

Being with small children can be a bit tiresome for the first half hour, but then, with their improper words and incomprehensible phrases, when they try to tell you something sweetly, showing you this and that, and giggling, it feels so wonderful! No matter how irritating the whole day has been, seeing their laughter makes it all disappear.

Oh, and I should mention something else: if they suddenly don't like something we've done, their crying can move mountains, and we'll get an earful from their mother. Be careful with children, be careful around children.

To avoid boring you and to make you laugh, I suppose I have to tell you things like this, right?

Anyway, even if it seems unnecessary, I'll tell you something about my Vedanth's philosophy.

{My sister-in-law stopped putting diapers on Vedh once he started speaking a little, in his cute, broken words. Only occasionally, if we were traveling to a relative's house, a function, or for a journey. Before the lockdown, there was a baby shower for my neighbor Rajesh Anna's son, and we were getting ready.

My sister-in-law first dressed him, added diaper too, put a black dot for protection, smeared white powder on his face, and made him sit. But would he stay in one place? He was happily walking all over the hall, full of the joy of learning to walk.

I had just combed my hair and was coming out of my room when he stood still like a statue, clutching his pants with his hands down, looking around.

I wondered why he suddenly stopped like that.

"Mmm... Mommy... Toi... Toi..." he was saying.

My sister-in-law's voice came from the room.

Sandhya: Hari, take him to pee.

Me: Yes, I'm going.

I went closer and put my hands under his armpits to lift him, but he shook his head, refusing to come into my arms.

"Toi... Toi..." he said, looking around, crumpling his pants, and looking at me.

Did you understand what happened?

I'll count to ten, guess what happened.

Ten
Nine
Eight
Seven
Six
Five
Four
Three
Two
One

I know you jumped to this line from eight, didn't you?

What actually happened was, he peed in pants.

If he peed, his pants should have gotten wet, but they didn't. So his surprise was, "Where did the pee go?" That's why he was standing there bewildered like a statue, shouting "Toi... Toi..."

His mother had put on a diaper, and he didn't know it, so he was a little scared that the pee didn't come out.

When I understood this, I couldn't stop laughing. I just stood there, laughing and looking at him.

My sister-in-law came.

Sandhya: Why are you laughing when he's saying "toi toi"?

Me: It's not that, Vadina, he peed, and he's asking why it didn't come out.... hahaha...

My sister-in-law also laughed at first, then stopped. She took Vedh close.

Sandhya: Shhh... my sweetie, "toi"? Go, you donkey, you're laughing. Crazy babai.

After his mother came, he became normal. }

After playing with Vedh, I took him inside, gave him water, and sat him on my lap in front of the TV. peddamma was watching some old Sobhan Babu movie. Sandhya came with a plate of soft rice mixed and sat on right, lovingly feeding Vedh.

She had tucked the end of her sari into her waist and tied her braid loosely.

As she was feeding Vedh, and since she was right next to me, I put my right hand past Vedh and placed it on her back.

She gave me a mischievous look with her eyes, telling me not to. I also had the fear that Peddamma was right there.

I leaned my arm on the sofa as if resting it there, and with my fingertips, I gently stroked her smooth back and softly massaged her neck.

She pinched me to stop. I smiled and removed my hand.

Sandhya: Aunt, he's not here, why don't you sleep in our room?

She asked my aunt that and then looked at me with a sarcastic smile. I shook my head, saying no.

Rajamani: No, it's okay... no.

Phew.

Sandhya: Hari, why don't you play with Kanna and sleep next to him.

Ugh... The offer came.

Vedh: babai... next to me... he said, laughing.

Me: Yes, I'll play next to you, we'll play.

The dim glow of the bedside lamp cast long shadows across the room as I settled onto the bed with Vedanth. Peddamma, his grandmother, had taken her tablets, and our chatter had dwindled into comfortable silence. Soon, Vedanth was fast asleep, and I knew Peddamma would be deep in slumber as well.

Sandhya, had joined us, her pink floral nightie clinging to her curves in a way that stirred a subtle heat within me. She turned off the main lights, leaving only the soft illumination of the bed lamp, and sat beside us. I leaned on the right, Vedanth in the middle, and Sandhya to the left. After lulling Vedanth to sleep, she gently moved him to the other side of the bed, then shyly gestured for me to lie down beside her.

I shifted closer, my hand finding its way to her waist as she gazed at the ceiling. "How's college, re?" she asked, her voice a soft murmur. I pressed my face into her neck, inhaling her womanly aroma. "It's fine."

"Did you get wet in the rain this morning?"

"A little," I admitted. "It's nothing, Vadina."

The conversation drifted to a building my brother and his family had seen, its price, and then, without thinking, I hugged her and kissed her ear. "What if Kanna wakes up?" she whispered, a hint of concern in her tone.

"Nothing will happen," I murmured back. "What does he know, Vadina?"

She pulled my face deeper into her neck, and I reveled in the fragrance of her hair, my lips yearning for the soft skin beneath. "Mmm," she hummed, "you desire me like this, what about my sister when you get married?"

Her question ignited a spark, and I bit her shoulder. She pushed my face away, a soft gasp escaping her lips. "Ohh... don't bite deliberately."

"You are my beauty, right?" I teased.

"Kavya is beautiful, though."

My hand, as if drawn by an invisible force, moved from her waist, over the soft fabric of her nightie, and cupped her right breast. I squeezed gently. A soft "Mmm" escaped her, and she kissed my ear.

"Not this beautiful..." I whispered, and she chuckled, a low, throaty sound. I squeezed again, a little more forcefully this time. Her hand came up to rest on mine, stopping me.

"You'll crush me,?"

I moved up, meeting her gaze. Her eyes, filled with desire, met mine, her lips trembling, her longing a palpable force that pierced my heart. "Vadina...."

"Mmm..."

I held her round, ball-like boob, feeling its fullness in my hand. "Ahh," she sighed.

"I'm letting them go only because of Anna's fear," I murmured, "otherwise I'd chew them and leave marks."

"I want you to bite me, Hari," she confessed, her voice barely a whisper.

"If you say that, I won't stop biting, Vadina." My finger found her nipple, twisting it gently.

She eagerly lifted her neck, her lips finding mine, taking my lower lip in a soft bite. I reciprocated, gripping her upper lip, a delicious exchange of saliva as she laid her head back, licking her lips.

We broke the kiss, our eyes locking. "My lusty Vadina, I want to bite you lustfully."

She covered my mouth, "Don't speak loudly."

"Hmm, I know." I swung my leg over her, climbing onto her, my chest pressed against her bust, my gaze unwavering. She cupped my face, her thumb tracing my lip.

"You look like you're going to bite me, Vadina," I teased. "Maybe you're just playing because I'm younger."

"Hey," she retorted, a playful glint in her eyes, "since I came to this house, haven't I only played with you?"

"Yes."

She lifted her head and kissed me, our tongues dancing, a sweet symphony of desire. "So what will you give me to play with now?"

Her eyebrow arched mischievously, a playful smile gracing her lips. "What will you give me?"

"Give me two."

"Oh, don't you want everything?"

"For now, give me two. If I want more, I'll ask for it."

She kissed my chin, a warm breath escaping her lips. “Maridhee, will you learn to do it with your finger?"

I kissed her cheek. "If you teach me, I'll even learn to do it with my tongue."

She turned her face away, a blush creeping up her neck. "Chee... You seem to know everything. What more is there for me to teach?"

I gently held her hair, turning her face back to mine. "Theory is done, Vadina, we need to do practicals, right?"

"Hmm, yes."

"So teach me."

"Only today, maridhee."

I pulled her nightie up her thigh, my hand slipping inside, finding the soft, golden curve of her buttocks. I squeezed. "Mmm... if you do that, I won't be able to control myself. Kanna will wake up."

"Then what, Vadina... I can't stop squeezing your thighs."

She pulled me closer by my neck, and I rubbed my nose against her bubblegum earring. "Shh... don't squeeze, kiss."

Rubbing my nose below her ear, I whispered, "Just the thighs? Or the flower between the thighs...?" I bit her neck gently.

"Ooh... don't bite so temptingly."

"Why, Vadina?"

"It's itchy here and there."

"So I'll bite there then."

"Uh-uh, no."

"If you say no, then no." I slipped her nightie off her left shoulder, pulling it down below her bust, and took the exposed "coconut laddoo" into my mouth, moving downwards. She threaded her fingers through my hair, pressing me closer.

While squeezing her buttock and sucking above, I lifted my eyelids, my gaze finding Vedanth's sleeping face. Her anxious breathing, a tumultuous symphony, was evident to my sucking tongue. I moved up, "Vadina, okay?"

"Okay, Hari."

"Wait." I got up, grabbed the blanket, and covered her up to her neck. Then, pulling both sides of her nightie inside, freeing her hands, and pulling it up to her waist, I buried my face in the valley of cleavage, kissing her heart. She wrapped her arms around my back from outside the blanket, hugging me tightly.

I alternated kissing her two erect "small mango jellies." Their sweaty, sweet taste, their warmth, and Sandhya's agitated breathing intoxicated me. I took one into my mouth, biting it a little hard with my lips. She cried out, a muffled "Aah..." but quickly stifled it. I paid no mind, continuing to bite, lick, and suck. She bent her neck forward. "Slowly, ra, Do you think they're peppermints?"

"That's all for tonight, Vadina." I took the right one into my mouth.

"Ssh... eat it up."

"Hmmmmm...." I sucked and released, my saliva dripping on it like sugar water on coconut khova. "If I catch them alone, I'll eat them up, Vadina. I won't care even if you scream and make a fuss."

"Hmm... I want to give that to you." Coming up, I looked into her eyes. "So do you want me to plan something?"

"What plan?"

"I'll find a room. Let's go. I'll make love to my lusty Vadina for a whole day. I’ll fuck you nice and full.”

"All that won't work. It's very difficult. Do this for now."

A jolt of reality hit me. She was right, the risk was high. We'd need a reason for her to come out with me, a place where no one would suspect, where we wouldn't be seen. "We'll see, Vadina."

We kissed again. "What happened with Kavya?" she asked.

I moved aside, my leg still resting on her. "Speaking of Kavya, do you know what happened today?"

"Yes, tell me." Meanwhile, her hand slipped between my legs, squeezing my "hard tent" over my pajamas.

"I'll tell you, but should I take off my pants?"

"Take it out."

I lowered my pants to my knees, and she touched me with her delicate fingertips. "Mmm."

"Maridhee, was it like this even back then when you saw me?"

"Don't ask, Vadina, it's not good."

"Tell me?"

"Yes."

She caressed my "gulab jamuns." Uff... all my nerves tingled, shaking my whole body.

"Vadina, why are you playing like this?"

"Weren't the blows you gave them yesterday enough?"

"It's cold, isn't it, Vadina? They get a lot of motivation when they're with you."

She pulled one with two fingers and stroked it, sending a shiver through me. "Ush... stop."

She measured it again with her fingertips. "You say it's cold, but you're heating up?"

"You're heating me up, Vadina." She began to move her hand.

I placed my hand on her chest and pressed. "Stop... the bed will get messed up again."

She kissed my forehead. "Can't you control yourself?"

"It's difficult, Vadina." My "precum" adhered to her hand, sticky, and she spread them, continuing to move her hand. At that touch, I tingled, floating in pleasure.

I slipped my hand into her nightie, searching between her thighs, caressing between her undergarments. "Ahh... Hari..."

"You said you'd teach me, Vadina." She finally released me. With her fingers, she pulled her panty to her left thigh, poking her "petals" with her fingertips. The warm moisture kissed my fingers. Unable to suppress a cry, she bit my shoulder. When I stroked my index finger upwards, it must have touched her clitoris, and she squeezed me tightly. I pressed my finger there and wiggled it.

Trembling, panting, Sandhya gasped, "sssss...." I joined my middle finger to my index finger and touched it.

"Abb... Hari..." She reached into her nightie, held my wrist, guided my hand, and made my index finger rub exactly between her petals. Honey cascaded onto my fingers. I poked my middle finger a little lower, fingerprints rubbing against her folds. "Stop, stop...." she said, trembling, and pulled my hand up.

"What happened, Vadina?" Without a word, she turned her face towards Vedanth, showing me her back. I leaned forward, whispering in her ear. "Tell me, Vadina..." She turned her neck back and kissed my chin.

"Do it now..." As soon as she said that, I squeezed her left buttock.

"Mmm... put it in." I held my dick, about to poke it into her raised back. Suddenly, she turned back again and held my face. "Let's just use fingers today."

Listening to her, I turned her over and slapped her buttock. "Ah... you can do all this some other time, first relieve this itch."

I lifted her nightie up to her waist, looked at her plump "papayas," put my hand between them, and slipped my middle finger into their valley, directly entering the "cave of nectar."

Trembling, she poked her butt back and hugged me. I put my right hand under her neck and held her right breast. Sandhya closed her eyes. I put my cheek against hers and pushed my finger further into the "cave."

"Ssh..." Juices soaked my hand. From the front, she joined her right hand to mine, interlacing our fingers, guiding my finger lines within the limits of her "flower petals." I cooperated with her rhythm and continued to rub.

"How many times has Anna fucked you all these years, Vadina, and yours is still flowing like this."

"Agg... it won't stop flowing when your hand touches it."

"Hmm... is that all?" I kissed her cheek and continued to poke in and out with my finger.

First, I pinched the nipple that fit in my hand. "Mmmmm.... maridhee." I was scratching the "flower walls" with my finger. "Tell me, Vadina..."

"Aaahh..." She covered her mouth with her left hand. She swayed her hips slightly, enjoying my wiggling. Without removing her hand from her mouth, she squeezed my hand in her right hand and whispered softly, "The pleasure I'm getting from your fingers is more than what I got from your brother's fucking."

I pushed my face forward and kissed her lips. "Hmm.... if I get such opportunities, I'll show you and enjoy myself, Vadina." Vedanth was sound asleep, undisturbed by our whispers. Sandhya turned his face away from us. I continued to kiss her lips, wiggle my finger between her thighs, and squeeze her breast. She trembled, swaying like a fish.

"Vadina, five minutes. Let's go to the bathroom."

"Is it necessary?"

"What do you say?" I joined another finger to my finger and poked it into the flower.

"Mmmmmm..." she said, swallowing her lips.

"What do you say?"

"Is there no other option?"

Then it occurred to me. We could do it on the floor next to the bed. Immediately, I left her, rolled over, and got down to the floor. Sandhya sat behind me and came towards me.

"Why did you get down?"

I sat down and pulled Sandhya onto my lap. She put her legs on either side of me and hugged me. "Hmm... what shall we do?"

"Let's do this." She lifted her thighs. I climbed into her "pussy" from below. Her honey bathed me, and I entered smoothly in a cowgirl position.

"Aah.... Hari, slowly...." I covered her mouth and lowered her onto my lap, sitting her down.

With one hand under her buttock and the other on her waist, in what's called the lotus position, I began to thrust with all my strength. She buried her face in my neck, suppressing her pain and pleasure, moaning "Mmmmm... Mmmmm..." I continued to thrust without stopping minutes after minutes passed, until we were both sweating in the cool night air. I held her on my lap like a duckling, making love to her.

"Mmmmmm.... Hari..."

"Hmm... it's about to finish."

"Isss... what kind of fucking is this, you donkey, you're stabbing my stomach."

"Your pussy is just devouring it, Vadina... Ahh..."

"Mmmma..." My passionate semen poured into her, flowing out, landing on my thighs and even on her buttocks. I lay back just like that. She collapsed onto me, exhausted.

"This is the third time."

"Wait ten minutes, we'll increase the count."

"Oh my God, no. You already did that on your own. Do you know how scared I was? That's why I closed my eyes and mouth."

I got up again, sat her on my lap, and kissed her neck. "Is it okay? Are you angry with me?"

"No, not at all. Just a little flustered."

We hugged in silence for a while, regulating our breathing. After I softened, I slowly lifted out. A doubt crossed my mind: had Sandhya taken precautions? "Vadina, is the date okay?"

She laughed. "I took a pill. How could it go wrong? I've found myself a darling naughty maridhee, keep fucking however he want."

"Hmm... if this beauty stays like this, I can't stop, then." She laughed a little loudly. I kissed her lips, silencing her. "Hmm... shush... he'll wake up."

"Hmm, okay. By the way, you didn't tell me about Kavya?"

"You didn't let me, then."

"Tell me, what happened?"

"Today, we both got a little wet in the rain."

"Oh, really..."

"Hmm... in the bus, right next to me."

"Was there any touching?"

"Not that much of a scene. But, Vadina..."

"Yes, tell me?"

"Your co-sister is very cute."

"So why didn't you kiss her?"

"She looked like she'd slap me on the cheek."

"She'll know once she experiences the pleasure of your dick like I did."

"Don't say that?"

"Why? Won't you fuck your wife, will you just suffice with kisses, poor thing?"

"It's not like that. Nothing's confirmed yet, right?"

"It will be. Is there any Leela that Krishna's Lieea can't win over?"

"That's a bit too much elevation. I don't even have a job yet."

"A job is nothing. You study well, something will come up. As for elevation, what you did earlier was like that."

Somehow, I really liked these conversations with Sandhya. "If you say that, I won't leave you, Vadina."

She wrapped her arms around my waist, her eyes on mine, filled with a raw desire. "Don't leave. Stay as my second husband, unknown to anyone. Fuck me like the bad boy you are."

I kissed her breast. "If you ask me to stay, will I say no, my lusty Vadina?"

I had become my Vadina's second husband.

14. Time

That night, I found solace in my sister-in-law's embrace, drifting off to sleep. After that, once Vedh left for college each morning, a hidden game of flirtation began between my sister-in-law and me, careful to keep it from Peddamma. Often, I initiated the kisses, and sometimes, playfully, I'd squeeze her boobs.

College introduced me to Kavya and Abhi, and our trio frequently explored Karimnagar city. Kavya, with a subtle intention I'd later understand, befriended Meenakshi, bringing her into our circle. Semester exams and lab practicals came and went. Kavya, to my surprise, failed a paper. It was then I realized her academic pursuits were more for show than genuine interest. There was one particularly memorable argument during an exam when she sat behind me, expecting to copy, and I refused. Though the paper she failed wasn't the one I'd denied her help on, she still blamed me, sulking for three days. Despite our arguments, our bond remained incredibly close and open.

Kavya’s arrival in my life was truly special; she was my first female friend. While her beauty initially drew me in, it was her genuine care for both Abhi and me that truly captivated me. She'd scold us affectionately when we did anything foolish, often saying, "What if I don't study? You guys should be fine." Her kindness, sweet words, and even her proud demeanor deepened my affection for her. When we were alone, our conversations were few, often punctuated by my teasing, which would invariably make her blush. Many times, I'd find myself gazing at Kavya, lost in thought. She knew I was watching; sometimes, without a word, my silent gaze would make her turn her face away. Perhaps it was just friendship, but all I wanted was to spend every possible moment with her.

On Diwali evening, after I had washed my face, checked my reflection, and combed my hair, my phone rang. It was a video call from Kavya.

A video call? From Kavya? To me? My mind raced with questions.

I answered.

She was stunning, dressed in a red langa voni (lehenga type). Yet, the ongoing pandemic had cast a somber shadow over all festivals; this Diwali felt muted.

"Hi Ra..." she began.

"Why are you so dressed up for Diwali, like it's Bathukamma?" I teased.

"To take photos..." she giggled, overflowing with joy.

"Are they looking for marriage proposals for you?" I continued.

"Oh, no... nothing like that. Just for the festival."

"Hmm..." I hummed, feigning indifference.

"How do I look?" she asked, her voice laced with anticipation.

What could I say? ‘You look adorable’? Marry me? Or should I wax poetic? Instead, I opted for my usual playful deflection.

"You look fine."

Her smile faltered slightly. "That's it?"

"You look good."

"Just good?" she pressed.

"Hmm, what else should I say?"

"I thought you'd say 'You look very good.'"

"Hey, you look good," I reiterated, trying to sound convincing.

"Hmm...." she trailed off.

"But your lips have too much lipstick," I added.

"Oh, really?" she asked, sounding genuinely surprised.

"Haha... I was just kidding."

"Hmm... This time I don't feel anything, Ra. Not going out, nothing."

"So you want Corona?" I quipped.

"Why did this wretched Corona even come?" she lamented.

"Never mind, it'll be gone by next year."

"That's what we have to think," she agreed.

"Okay. By the way, who's taking your photos?"

She walked from inside her house to the balcony, switching to the back camera. There was Abhi, and Meenakshi too.

"Bye..." I said, a wave of irritation washing over me.

"Hey, what happened?" Kavya asked, sensing my mood shift.

"You enjoy, I go. Unprofessional friends," I retorted, cutting the call before she could reply.

As soon as I hung up, Sandhya, appeared behind me.

"Oh, video calls are happening too?" she teased.

"Not really. Just normally," I mumbled.

"Okay, we'll be with Nikhila akka. You look after Kanna."

"Okay."

Vedh and I spent a long time bursting crackers. He giggled, mesmerized by a sparkler. Though initially scared, I slowly helped him light it with a stick. My brother, Vedh, and I simply spent time together, enjoying the quiet evening.

It was past eleven when we finally went inside. Vedh was asleep, so I carried him to my room and put him to bed next to me. Sleep, however, eluded me. Just then, Kavya sent a video on Insta.

"roll a die 3," the caption read.

"Okay, potti (short) Kavya?" I replied, poking fun at her.

An angry emoji popped up.

"Hahaha..."

"I didn't send that, Ra. That Manjusha is messaging me. Asking for your phone number?"

"Oh, really. Don't give it."

"I didn't give it. I told her I'd ask you first."

"Good."

"She sent this video; I forwarded it to you."

"Haha..."

"You've gotten too arrogant, Ra," she accused.

"What did I do?"

"What do you mean? Even in class, she's hitting on you. You don't even look at her."

"I don't like her."

"That's what I'm saying, you're arrogant. You feel like a big Hollywood hero, don't you?"

"Yeah, so what?"

"What's it to me? Nothing."

"Hmm..."

"Should I tell you something?"

"Tell me."

"You look pretty handsome ra. In the photos we took recently, you looked better than all the other boys."

I hadn't expected that. "What, are you having feelings or something?"

"Nah, not like that, I'm just saying."

"Okay."

"Should I ask one more thing?"

"Ask."

"How many accounts do you have?"

"Not those."

"I also need to open Union Bank, SBI, Indian Bank, but I didn't because the minimum deposit is 2000."

"Hey, don't play these games, I'm telling you."

"What games?"

"Don't you have anyone, a girlfriend?"

Uff, she was confusing me. Was she asking normally? Or was she asking because she liked me? "You are, aren't you? Girl-friend."

"Not like that, Ra, like love?"

"No."

"Then why are you avoiding Manjusha?"

How could I tell her, this chicken-brained girl? That I wasn't looking at anyone else, that talking only to her meant something profound to me? I lacked the courage, and her questions were always so perplexing. I didn't know what to think.

"I don't know, I don't have much contact with girls," I confessed.

"Yeah, I guess so."

For a while, neither of us replied. Then I sent two or three videos from my feed, and she responded with laughing emojis. After that, she sent another video.

"We should be mutual friends because if they break up, you can take a chance with the girl, right?" I messaged, trying to gauge her reaction.

"Tch, tch... Do you need that?" she replied, sounding slightly annoyed.

"What, don't you think so?"

"So, do you intend to take a chance on Meenakshi now?"

"Yes. She's a damn good figure." I was testing her, seeing how far I could push. “If she won’t take Abhi I’ll catchup on her”

"It's been so many days, and this thought hasn't left you?"

"I see her every day, right?"

"Don't look then."

"Why are you telling me that?"

"It's wrong, Ra."

"Okay, never mind, did you eat?"

"Hmm..."

Just then, WhatsApp notifications buzzed. A new group had been created. In it, Abhiram had uploaded the photos they took that evening. As I was about to open the group chat to see them, a message flashed: "Kavya has removed you."

I immediately messaged Kavya on WhatsApp.

"Why did you remove me?"

"Your photos aren't there."

"Even if they aren't, I'll see your photos, right?"

"Not necessary."

"I'll see if they're good or not."

"I told you it's not necessary," she insisted.

I'm used to sending GIFs, so I sent one. Then another blank message, implying another GIF.

"Another GIF. What's with the timing?" she replied.

"Are you coming to college tomorrow?" I asked, trying to shift the topic.

"Why on Friday, Saturday? I'll come on Monday."

"Then I'll also come on Monday."

"Yeah, I'll tell Abhi too. I'll ask him to tell Meenu. I'll ask him to tell Manjusha. Let's tell the whole class, everyone come on Monday." she retorted, her sarcasm evident.

"Oh, you're doing comedy too?"

"What, only you can do it? Can't we, Swamy?"

"Why are you calling me Swamy again?"

"I will. My wish."

"Okay, good night."

"Good night."

You must be wondering, right? Why would she video call me? Why would she tell me not to talk about Meenakshi or look at her? Even if Manjusha sent that video, it wouldn't have mattered if she hadn't forwarded it to me, so why did she? Why did she chat with me for so long?

-

Monday,

The drone of Murali Sir’s Relative Physics class filled the air, a soundtrack to Kavya’s artistic endeavors beside me. Leaning intently, elbow propped, she sketched on a scrap of paper, her focus so absolute you’d think she was blueprints for an interstellar craft. Yet, when it came to academics, her brain seemed to short-circuit, leaving behind only chicken scratch. And before you protest about my “heroine” — my wife, my choice, what’s it to you? Just kidding!

I reached out, four fingers extended, and gave Kavya a light tap on the back of her head.

She spun around, a furious mother hen whose chicks had just been prodded.

“Listen to the class,” I instructed.

“Get lost!” she shot back.

“You flunked this very paper. Pay attention.”

“I listened, I just don’t get it,” she retorted, then, with a dismissive wave, “You listen, Vinayaka.”

“Your karma,” I sighed.

While Kavya was engrossed in her doodles, Manjusha in the second row was swiveling her neck like an owl, her large eyes fixed on me. My life was a mess: the girl I liked caused trouble, and the one I didn't seemed to be winking at me. My studies, already precarious, were suffering. Not that I was on track for greatness anyway.

The bell rang, signaling the end of the period. Sir departed.

“Why are you drawing silly patterns, you silly girl?” Abhi prodded Kavya.

“They’re not silly patterns,” she defended, “They’re practice for Sankranti.”

“There are still two months left,” I chimed in, “Even cricketers don’t practice two months before a tournament.”

“Oh, you guys know nothing about girls,” Kavya scoffed. “Besides, listening to that class makes me sleepy.”

“No, you don’t sleep at night, and you sometimes sleep in class?” I teased.

“It’s my choice. I watched a movie on Netflix last night.”

“Oh, my subscription for four months. My money. Give me eight hundred.”

“If you ask me for money, your eyes will fall out,” she scoffed, genuinely indignant. “You’d ask me for money? Tsk, you should be ashamed as a man.”

Does she sounded like a wife? I must be imagining things.

“If you have that, you won’t study,” I pointed out.

“What’s your problem, dude? You’re acting like a fourth-grader. You’re a friend, you gave the subscription. Can’t you do at least that much for a friend?”

"Friend." Again with the "friend." This girl… Shush…

Just then, EM Sir walked in, and silence descended upon us.

At 12:30, we settled in the garden for lunch. Meenakshi joined us, as did Manjusha. Abhi and I, leaving the three girls to themselves, sat about ten feet away.

Lunch concluded, and the eagerness I’d been suppressing for two days surged forward. I had to see Kavya’s photos.

“Bro, can you show me Kavya’s photos?” I asked Abhi.

“Don’t have them, deleted.”

“Hey, don’t lie. Please, show me.”

“She didn’t let you stay in the group because she didn’t want you to see them.”

“Hey, give me the phone.”

“She’ll scold me if she finds out.”

“Just give it to me first.”

I snatched the phone from his hand. After he unlocked it with Touch ID, I navigated to the gallery. There she was: Kavya, adorned beautifully in a pattu langa voni, standing beneath the henna tree behind her house.

“How adorable she is. I asked you to send them, and you said no.”

“How can I send them like that?”

“Am I a stranger?”

“If you want them, why don’t you ask her directly instead of involving me?”

“If I ask for photos, she’ll look at me from head to toe, like the mean pervert I am.”

Abhi looked at me directly, silently, with a strange expression.

“What is it?”

“Kavya likes you, Hari.”

Really? Could I trust that? But she didn’t act like it, did she?

“What?”, I paused.

“She was my classmate until fifth grade when we were kids. We used to live next door to her. Until eighth grade, Kavya and I were good friends. Then we moved houses. We met again in college. She wouldn’t talk to any other boys except me.”

I listened, not interrupting, my eyes still on Kavya’s photos.

“She asked you how she looked on a video call, why did she refuse to show photos?”

Yes, why?

“Why?”

“That’s why,… what do I know?”

“What do you say now?”

“I told her yesterday that I’d call you. She said no.”

“What if I came?”

“I don’t know. Kavya likes you, Hari.”

I zoomed in on her face in a photo where Kavya was sitting, fixating on her lips. Strawberry slices. I wanted to bite them.

“Are you listening?” Abhi’s voice broke my reverie.

“Yeah, I’m listening. So what should I do? I don’t have the courage, dude.”

“Why?”

“You might be thinking that, but what if it’s not true, and because of this, I lose her friendship too?”

Abhi had no answer. I continued to gaze at Kavya’s photos.

This is the age of enchanting beauty, the loveliness of a graceful swan.
Yours are words of sweet mandarins, are you the moon of sandalwood?
The woman who charms me, do my gazes befit you?
My heart longs to reach you, a silence that cannot express love.

As I lost myself in Kavya’s images, Abhi tapped my shoulder. I looked up, questioning, and he gestured forward. Kavya was approaching us. Meenakshi and Manjusha were leaving.
I handed Abhi his phone back.

“Why are you two sitting here staring at each other from a distance?” Kavya asked, then turned to Abhi. “Meenu, are you just going to look at each other, or are you going to talk?”

“What’s there to tell? Doesn’t she know I love her?” Abhi replied, feigning nonchalance.

“Then tell her.”

“There’s no need to tell her. Won’t she just come and say she likes me too?”

“Ha, you two stay like this. Look at Hari, he’s useless. While she’s winking from there, he’s sitting with his phone, an idiot.”

“Why are you dragging me into this?” I protested.

“Oh, just to pass the time.”

“Hey Hari, give me an idea, I need to tell Meenakshi,” Abhi pleaded.

“Go direct.”

“Huh…”

“Stop looking at her every day. Say, ‘When should we get a fuck?’”

They both stared at me, stunned by my suggestion.

Kavya shrieked, “She’ll hit you with a slipper! I asked for an idea, what kind of words are those, you idiot!”

“Hey, you don’t know. Wait.”

I looked at Abhi, then leaned in to whisper my plan.

“If the plan goes wrong, my life will be ruined, dude,” Abhi said, his face etched with worry.

“Your choice. You asked for an idea, I gave it.”

“What did you even say?” Kavya demanded.

“I’ll tell you later.”

She snapped at me, “Your ‘later’ can rot. You already have three ‘later’ things, and you say ‘later’ again. How will those ever get together?”

“Three? What are they?”

“The doubts I asked.”

“Okay, ask later, I’ll tell you…” I laughed.

“Your nose, come on, let’s go.”

Lunch concluded, our conversation ceased, and as we headed to class, Mahesh intercepted us.

“What’s up, you three are getting along well?” Mahesh began, then turned to Kavya. “Hey Kavya, don’t you remember me?”

Kavya silently lowered her head and nodded, a reluctant affirmation.

“Oh, you remember me? When do I come to mind? When you’re in bed? When you’re in the bathroom?”

Anger flared within me. This guy and his words.

Kavya, feigning innocence, replied, “That’s not it, sir, you came to mind the other day?”

Mahesh edged closer to Kavya, leaning his neck slightly as he pressed, “Did I come to mind…?”

Srujan, nearby, made a sound of disgust.

“Tell me, when did I come to mind?” Mahesh insisted.

“Well…” Kavya began, “the other day, in a news report, they said a guy who was bothering girls got beaten with slippers and brooms. That’s when you came to mind.”

Why did this silly girl say that?

Mahesh grabbed Kavya’s shoulders tightly, his face contorted in fury. “What, so now you’re saying they’ll beat me?”

A pang of anxiety shot through me. Why did he grab her like that? Without a second thought, I grabbed Mahesh and pushed him away.

“What are you doing in the middle, moron?” Mahesh bristled.

“Cool, brother, cool,” I said, trying to diffuse the tension. “She said you came to mind, that’s all, she didn’t say they’d beat you. Why are you angry?”

“Come on, Kavya, it’s almost class time…” I said, taking Kavya’s hand.

Mahesh grabbed my collar and pulled me towards him. “What are you doing, grabbing her hand?”

“Just because she’s a friend.” I looked directly into his eyes, defiance blazing.

“So what if she’s a friend? I already told you, Kavya…”

“Brother…” I interrupted, my voice firm. “Kavya is my friend, okay? Friendship is different, ragging is different. It’s bothering Kavya when you talk like that. Don’t keep stopping Kavya like that.”

“What, are you giving a warning? Do you think you’re a hero?” Mahesh sneered.

I still poked my face into his, maintaining unwavering eye contact. “No, I’m speaking the truth.”

“What, arrogance?”

“If you bother Kavya or make her uncomfortable, I won’t stand quietly, bro.”

He tightened his grip on my collar. “Let’s see, dude… who cares about you.”

“If you bother Kavya, will I just stand still?”

He attempted to lift me, crushing my collar. I glanced around; everyone outside was watching us.

“You have a collar too, I have hands. If I grab yours, you’ll be the one with the problem. Everyone’s watching.”

He let go.

“I’ll show you guys in the evening,” Mahesh spat, a veiled threat.

I looked at him, my expression conveying, "Do whatever you want," and we walked towards class.

We entered the classroom and sat down. The three of us remained silent. Perhaps they didn’t know what to say to me after what had transpired.

Two hours later, we emerged from the university. Abhi pulled up on his bike.

“Should I drop Kavya home?” he asked.

“I’ll go by bus,” Kavya replied.

Abhi nodded at Kavya, then looked at me, a silent invitation for us to walk
together.

Kavya and I walked along the footpath, paralleling the university compound wall. Just then, Mahesh sped past us on his bike, glaring back at me with a threatening look as he went.

Kavya took my right hand in her left, her grip gentle but firm. “Don’t fight with him, Krishna.” She squeezed my palm even tighter.

“I didn’t like his words. Didn’t it seem too much today?”

Our steps faltered.

“They’re not ordinary people,” Kavya said, her voice laced with anxiety. “What if they keep an eye on us and do something harsh?”

Clear anxiety clouded Kavya’s eyes. She was looking at me directly but seemed hesitant, almost embarrassed, to say anything more. Gazing at her beautiful twinkle eyes with fondness, noticing her pupils nervously darting, I covered Kavya’s cheek with my right hand.

With a small smile, I said, “Something happened today. Mahesh will be normal by tomorrow. I just got a little angry in the moment.”

She blushed. I saw it. Could I trust my eyes? I didn’t know.

She began walking again.

“I thought you only hero looks, but you have heroism too,” Kavya said softly.

“Oh, it’s nothing like that.”

“Yeah… you don’t have that much of a scene.”

We both laughed and stopped at the bus stop. A bus arrived almost immediately. We both boarded.

We stood facing each other. I leaned my face towards Kavya, a mischievous glint in my eye, and looked at her pretty face. She smiled shyly in return.

“Lately, you’ve been looking at me strangely,” Kavya observed.

I didn’t know what to say; she was catching my expressions, my gazes. “Strangely, how?”

“I don’t know, not like before.”

I turned my face away.

The bus braked, and she stumbled, falling into my arms. She hugged me. I feigned ignorance, and she lowered her face in embarrassment.

Did Kavya really like me, as Abhi said? It certainly seemed so. I leaned my head and inhaled the scent of her hair.

She took a step forward. My nose buried itself further in her hair. The fragrance of jasmine vines clouded my mind.

For a minute, did she intentionally step forward? No, no, her stop was coming up.

The bus pulled to a halt at her stop.

Kavya, her voice a soft whisper in my ear, “Let’s meet tomorrow. Bye.”

She stepped off the bus.

The bus pulled away, leaving Kavya in its wake. No sooner had I stepped off than my phone buzzed with a call from Sandhya.

"Hello, Vadina," I answered, a smile touching my lips.

"Hari, are you coming?" Her voice, warm and inviting, drifted through the phone.

"Yes, Vadina, I've crossed the bypass," I replied, my gaze fixed on the familiar road ahead.

"Athamma went to a relative's house," she informed me. "Kanna also went, saying he'd go with Athamma."

"Oh..." I murmured, a hint of disappointment in my tone.

"Oh, not 'Oh,' my second husband," she corrected playfully, her voice laced with a charming possessiveness. "Come home without stopping anywhere. Mwah."

A pang of regret shot through me. If only she had called fifteen minutes earlier, I would have taken the express bus and been there sooner. "Okay, okay, I'm on the bus. I'll be there."

Upon reaching the house, I slipped inside, the door clicking shut behind me. I made my way to the kitchen, where Sandhya, resplendent in a blue saree, was occupied. I wrapped my arms around her from behind, pulling her close. Lowering my head, I pressed a kiss to the graceful curve of her neck.

"Mmmmmm..." she hummed, a soft sound of contentment.

"Are you in the mood for me today?" I whispered, my lips still lingering on her skin.

She turned to face me, her eyes sparkling. "Why do you ask that?"

"Because you called and told me," I replied, a smirk playing on my lips.

Our lips met, a fiery dance igniting between us. As my hands roamed her soft waist, her breasts pressed against my lap. I tugged down the pallu that veiled those enticing mounds, then leaned in and kissed them.

"Ah, not here," she protested softly, a breathless sound escaping her lips.

Without a moment's hesitation, I slipped my hands under her buttocks, lifting her effortlessly. I carried her to my room, the scent of her filling my senses. The door closed with a soft thud. I shed my shirt, and she, with equal eagerness, discarded her blouse. She then sat me on the bed, straddling me with an intoxicating grace.

She offered her breasts to me, and I took them greedily into my mouth, sucking with an uninhibited desire.

"Iss... Maridi..." she moaned, her fingers tangling in my hair.

With one hand, I held her left breast, continuing to suckle, while the other pulled down the pleats of her saree. "Take it all off. Nothing should be left," I urged, my voice thick with passion.

"Hmm..." she assented, her weight shifting as she leaned on my shoulders and stood up. In a swift motion, I pulled down her saree, petticoat, and even her underwear. I gently pushed her onto the bed, climbed atop her, and rained kisses upon her neck. She, in turn, tugged at my undershirt, removing it.

Lying on top of her, I pressed her beautiful form against my chest, kissing and licking her neck. My hands massaged her waist, delighting in the softness and tenderness of her skin.

She cupped my face in her hands and kissed my lips with a searing passion.

"Mmmmmm..." she sighed.

"Umm..." I responded, equally lost in the moment.

I moved lower, kissing her chest, then held and squeezed her erect nipples with both hands.

"Ah... As soon as your hands touch them, they want more," she gasped, her body arching into my touch.

I held them like dough, squeezing them hard.

"Ss... Squeeze them... Mmmmmm..." she whimpered, her voice a seductive melody.

"My hands won't stop squeezing, Vadina..." I promised, my voice a husky whisper.

As I licked her in between, she pressed my head further down. My hands continued to squeeze her breasts, my chin buried in her snowy navel. I poked my cold tongue into that small, warm space, and a shiver ran through her body. She pressed my hair, her moans echoing in the room, as I passionately squeezed her breasts.

"Ah... This is how you'll kill me," she breathed, her voice a strained whisper.

I playfully bit her navel, then moved up and bit her left breast with my front teeth.

"Ah... Mmm..." she whimpered, a mix of pleasure and protest.

I licked and played with the bitten nipple, and she, trembling, pressed my head, stopping me gently. I moved up, meeting her gaze. Her chest heaved, and her eyes, heavy with desire, locked onto mine.

"Tongue has really done its job today, Maridi," she said, her voice husky.

I kissed her lips. My right hand moved lower, finding her mound. She shivered in my embrace.

"Aaah... Maridi..."

As I twirled and stroked her clitoris with my finger, she closed her eyes, moaned, and hugged me tightly. Releasing her grip, I slid down, burying my face between her thighs. I kissed the corn cobs - of her beauty, and as she pressed my head deeper, I kissed her juicy, honey-dipped, folded sweet kaja-like petals. She moaned, pressing my hair.
"Ah..."

During the kiss, I took her clitoris between my lips and pulled gently.

"Aaaah Maridi..." she cried out, her body trembling.

I put my tongue out and bit it with my lips, like biting a soft, boiled peanut.

"Ammmmh...." she screamed, heavily and trembling.

With her honey-like stickiness on my chin, I lowered my face, pressed my tongue through the folds of her petals, and licked upwards. The taste was mild and driving me wild.

"Iss..." she moaned, her voice a breathless whisper. She squeezed her stiffening, tingling tightness, and then rested both thighs on my shoulders. I then began my task of licking, tasting between the honeyed folds, my tongue caressing her sweet petals. As Vadina moaned sweetly, the vocal music a symphony to my ears, I moved my tongue with rhythmic precision.

"Mmmmm..."

Putting my hands under her buttocks, I lifted her up and pressed her against my mouth, licking her intensely, like sucking a tamarind spoon. As if a storm had raged through her body, she swayed, grinding her thighs, wetting my mouth as if bathing it. She made me drink her nectar before collapsing onto the bed. Swallowing that taste, I moved up with kisses, joining the sweetness below with the sweetness above. We bit each other's lips deeply, passionately, intoxicated, crazily lost in the moment.

"You ate me up, my darling!" she exclaimed, a triumphant glint in her eyes.

"If you feed him, will your second husband not eat?" I teased, nuzzling her neck.

"Mmm..." she purred, rolling me to the side. She got up and straddled my legs, her hands quickly unbuttoning my pants, unzipping, and pulling them down.

My erect sword of pleasure sprang free. I gazed mesmerized into her desiring eyes. She bit her lips, her gaze fixed on my manhood. She held it as it bent towards her stomach and made it straight. Pulling back the foreskin, she looked at the shining head with its honey bubbles, then bent down and kissed it. At that kiss, the nerves in my body tingled, and I trembled. After the kiss, she touched it with her tongue. My whole body tingled, and I muttered, "Fuck... Vadina."

"Fuckk has time, Maridi. I'm preparing this for that," she replied, her words sending shivers down my spine, making me even crazier. She pressed her tongue at the base of my shaft and moved it upwards.

"Ah..." I gasped.

She took the glands into her mouth. My nerves stood out, and floating in the air, I thrust forward, pushing it further into her mouth. She tightened her cheeks around me and began to suck like a popsicle. I closed my eyes and leaned back in pleasure. "Slurp slurp," she sucked me passionately. I slightly lifted my hips, adjusting to Vadina's mouth. Then she released me and sat on my thighs.

"Stay like that. Hold my waist," she commanded softly. I held her waist as she said. She impaled herself on me and sat down. My wet member slid smoothly into her wet hole.

"Yours goes in with a whoosh!" she exclaimed, her voice a breathless whisper.

"Should I push it further? It's still a bit out," I asked, my voice thick with desire.

"Oh no, don't," she responded, placing her hands on my chest and beginning to move. As I put my hands on her waist, holding and squeezing her butter-like buttocks, she rubbed her flower against my member passionately.

"Ah Hari..." she moaned.

"You'll fuck me, Vadina. My brother alone isn't enough for your lusty cunt," I teased, my hips starting to move with hers.

"That's why I'm sucking your dick, my dear Maridi," she shot back, a playful glint in her eyes.

I held her waist again, pressed my feet against the bed, and began to thrust back. My thrusts hit her buttocks, making a "thap thap" sound as she moved.

"Ah... How was my sucking? Did you like it?" she asked, her breath coming in short gasps.

"If you suck, it's not just 'liking' it, Vadina, it drives me crazy," I confessed, my voice strained with pleasure.

"Mmmmm... Ah, fuck... Mmm...fuck..." Her moans filled the room, mingling with the sounds of our lovemaking. I don't know how long it lasted, but the air vibrated with our passion.

"Should I suck again?" she whispered, her voice laced with playful anticipation.

"Sss... No... Ah, Vadina..." I managed to stammer, my body on the verge of eruption.

She fell on top of me, hugging me tightly. As she moved her legs, I couldn't hold back anymore and ejaculated inside her. We lay on our sides, kissing, and I held her close in my lap.

All day, my thoughts had been fixated on one thing: how to tell Kavya my feelings after Abhi's suggestion. Even though it felt like she might also like me, I suspected my assumption might be wrong. I was also afraid our friendship might be ruined, but how long could I stay like this? There was another year of college, so I decided to wait and see.

Vadina's soft kiss on my cheek brought me back to the present. "Why are you like that? Was I too hasty?" she asked, concern lacing her voice.

"No, not at all, Vadina," I reassured her, hugging her warmly.

"What else are you thinking about?" she prompted gently.

"Vadina, is it okay for a girl to be casually close with a guy?" I asked, the question I'd been wrestling with all day finally escaping my lips.

"Why not? Girls will be friends if they trust someone. If they suspect anything, they keep their distance," she replied, her words offering a surprising clarity.

"Do you think Kavya is just friends with me?" I ventured, my heart pounding in my chest.

She turned my face towards her, her eyes searching mine. "Maridi... You feel Kavya is more than a friend, right?"

"I told you, Vadina. I liked her the moment I saw her," I admitted, the truth finally laid bare.

"You like people the moment you see them, you're a man. Didn't you like me? Don't you like beautiful people?" she teased, a playful glint in her eyes.

"But Vadina..." I started, but she cut me off with a kiss.

"Hari... If you're thinking about Kavya this much, you're in love. Is Kavya thinking about you?"

"I don't know," I confessed, the uncertainty a heavy weight on my chest. Yes, does Kavya even think about me? Why would she?

"To know, if you tell her, she'll tell you if she does or not," Sandhya stated simply.

I remained silent, the implications of her words swirling in my mind.

"Unless someone says something, it won't come out, Hari... If you keep quiet like this, it will just stay that way."

"What if after I tell her, she says, 'It's not like that for me. I didn't think you'd feel this way,' and then she distances herself from me?" I voiced my biggest fear.

"Or what if because you told her, she also starts to love you? She'll think about what you said, right?"

Yes, what Vadina says also makes sense. What if me telling her is the trigger?

"If I hadn't brought you close and you hadn't opened your mouth, would we be like this today, Hari?" she asked, a knowing smile playing on her lips.

"Yes," I admitted, realizing the truth of her words.

"Let time come, Hari."

Time. I was waiting for time. My life felt like it had hit the pause button again, waiting for the opportunity to tell Kavya my love. Abhiram was also trying to gather courage, like I told Meenakshi, and I was waiting for an opportunity. And so, three more months passed without anything happening.

Everything needed to align for me to tell her.
Thought, Step, Opportunity, Time.

The tail end of February carried a faint chill, yet a mischievous idea sparked in my mind as my sister-in-law, Sandhya, asked for a ride to her aunt's house in Karimnagar. What if this trip became a pretext for her to stay with me instead?

Sandhya, vedh and me, we set off on the bike. First, a quick stop at Vedh's kindergarten to drop him off, then we were on the open road, heading for Karimnagar.

"Vadina, should we stop somewhere on the way back?" I ventured, the idea still brewing.

"Why?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.

"I'll ask Abhi; he'll give us the key to his shop's upper portion," I said, trying to sound casual.

"Will he?" Sandhya's eyebrows raised slightly.

"Is that okay with you?" I pressed, my heart thrumming.

"But..." she began, a hesitation I recognized.

"Tell me, Vadina?" I urged softly.

"It'll delay going home," she finally admitted.

"Leave your aunt's house an hour early. I'll also come early today," I quickly countered, trying to make it sound appealing.

I dropped Sandhya near Mohan uncle's house in Ashok Nagar. Her aunt greeted us warmly, inviting me inside, but a wave of hesitation washed over me, and I politely declined.

Back at college, the Physics Department was abuzz. A renowned Telugu scientist was giving a seminar in the auditorium, drawing students from both our Physics classes. Some, naturally, weren't interested and skipped it, but surprisingly, students from other departments also showed up, filling the hall to capacity.

The auditorium was plunged into darkness, save for the faint glow of the projector as the scientist presented his work. Abhi, Kavya, Manjusha, and I stood in a row, our forms barely discernible in the dim light.

Kavya, radiant in a yellow churidar, her face illuminated by the projector's soft light, stood directly in front of me. I found myself caught in a dilemma: should I listen to the speaker, or simply lose myself in gazing at Kavya?

Just then, an empty seat appeared in the second row. Kavya and I moved towards it simultaneously. My longer legs gave me an advantage, and I settled into the seat first. I chuckled, earning a playful pout from her.

A couple of minutes later, she leaned into me, resting her head on my lap. "Get up," I whispered softly, my voice barely audible.

"Let me sit on you," Kavya murmured, already making herself comfortable.

I widened my thighs, allowing her to settle onto my left thigh, her back resting against my lap. The moment her head nestled under my neck, a wave of sensations washed over me: the delicate fragrance of her hair, the soft brush of her dupatta against my t-shirt, and the gentle pressure of her ear against my neck. My lips were now directly in front of her forehead.

"How long will he speak?" Kavya asked, her voice a sleepy drone.

"Maybe an hour," I replied, my gaze fixed on her.

She remained, her head still resting under my neck. I looked down. Her eyes were closed, and she was sleeping peacefully in my lap, like a contented puppy. "Hey, are you going to sleep?" I whispered.

"Hmm… what do I gain by listening to that?" she mumbled, half-asleep.

"Then why did you come?" I couldn't help but ask.

"What would I do outside without you?" she replied, her hand reaching up to gently stroke my chest. A strange warmth spread through me. The AC in the auditorium felt hot and stuffy. I shifted, leaning back in the chair, letting Kavya lie more comfortably on me. Her forelocks fell across her face, and I tenderly tucked them behind her ear, mesmerized by the almost golden-white moonlight that seemed to emanate from her.

In a sleepy haze, Kavya mumbled, "What perfume do you use, ra? It smells so good."

I chuckled to myself. She wasn't paying any attention to me. I gently placed my hand on her waist, adjusting her to sit properly. How soft her waist was! I longed to hold her directly, without the barrier of her dress. Kavya remained silent. The tall person sitting in front of me provided a convenient screen. I continued to gaze at Kavya: her small, pointed nose, strawberry lips, and rosy cheeks. Her dupatta had slipped past her neck, revealing a faint glimpse of her cleavage in the shadow of her dress's neckline, and my desire grew.

I lowered my head, rubbing my nose against hers. Her warm breath fell on my lips, and my mind screamed at me to kiss those strawberry lips. Should I? Or shouldn't I? No, it's wrong.

I reluctantly gave up and looked forward at the projector.

A little later, she stirred slightly. The soft pressure of her thighs against mine once again ignited my desire. I bent my face, inhaling the scent of her hair, my nose near her ear, savoring the fragrance.

"I'll break your nose," she mumbled, her voice muffled.

Ush… does she see everything? "What?" I asked, feigning ignorance.

"Shut up, you idiot. You're smelling me like a dog, you mad dog," she said, a hint of amusement in her voice.

Why did she say that?

I hadn't done anything, just sat there with her in my lap. The seminar ended, but I hadn't understood or heard a single thing, all because of Kavya. We stepped outside.

Our campus and Meenakshi's campus were quite close, though the main administration block was a bit of a walk. Classes were winding down, with semesters just a few days away, and lab practicals were in full swing. We walked along, an awkward silence hanging between us. Something always happened to me when Kavya walked beside me; I found it impossible to look directly at her.

"Should I tell Meenu today?" Abhi asked, breaking the silence.

"Definitely?" I replied, a question in my voice.

"Yes, definitely," he affirmed.

"Just tell her, ra," Kavya chimed in, a teasing note in her voice. "This has been your struggle for a month. As if you're the only one in love on Earth. You sing the same song to us every day."

My blabbermouth will get me killed. "So, Kavya, you're in love too?" I blurted out.

She slapped my cheek hard. "Ouch... my cheek is broken, I wish I'd worn a mask."

"Shut up, you," she snapped.

You should have seen Abhi's face; he was a mixture of shock and fear. "Mama, if Meenu slaps like this, what will happen, ra?" he whispered, wide-eyed.

"She's not like me. Go, go and do your work. You two are useless people I found..." Kavya said, her gaze fixed on me with an angry glint.

Abhi pulled out his phone and called Meenu.

"Put it on speaker," I urged.

"Meenu..." Abhi began.

"Hello, Abhi..." Minu's voice came through the speaker.

"Can you come to the administration block for a moment?" Abhi asked, looking at me for approval.

"Not here," I interjected. "Tell her to come to the ground park behind. No one will be there now.”

"No, no..." Abhi stammered, correcting himself. "Can you come near the park?"

"Why now?" Meenu sounded surprised.

"Come once, I'll tell you," Abhi said, his voice laced with nervousness.

"Okay, I'll come in ten minutes."

The three of us made our way to the park next to the ground. Kavya and I quickly hid behind a tree while Abhi stood waiting for Meenakshi.

"You're telling him to propose her, but when will you tell?" Kavya asked, her voice quiet.

What is this she just said? No, something is wrong. "What am I supposed to tell?" I asked, feigning innocence.

"The same thing to Manjusha?" she replied, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

I was annoyed. I was dying trying not to tell her, and she's teasing me about that short girl in between. "Oh, go away. What love do I have with her? No."

She laughed. "Why are you so annoyed, ra? I just said it for fun."

Meenakshi arrived. Abhi, nervously rubbing his fingers, turned back and looked at us.

Kavya discreetly signaled him to look at Meenu.

"Why did you ask me to come?" Meenu asked, a hint of impatience in her voice.

"Uh... uh..." Abhi stammered.

"Oh, uh, uh... How long will you tremble like this?" Meenu said, clearly annoyed.

"We see each other every day, right? I'm in a good mood, can’t we do it?" Abhi blurted out, exactly as I had instructed him.

Haha... Meenu's face registered a mix of annoyance and confusion. She looked at him, not understanding what he was saying. "Do what?" she asked.

"Let's have sex, Meenu. Please understand, I can't sleep at night," Abhi continued, following my script.

"Then take sleeping pills," Meenu retorted, as expected.

"You'll give them?" Abhi asked.

"Why should I give them?"

Hold her hands... I mouthed to Abhi. He complied, taking Meenu's hands in his.

"You... I asked a doctor I know. He said if you kiss me, I'll sleep."

Meenakshi stiffened.

"Hey, what did you tell him, ra?" Kavya whispered, nudging me. "If it goes wrong, her hands are stronger than mine. She'll knock his teeth out."

"Oh, what else should I say?" I whispered back. "Something will be known today, wait."

Meenaxi lowered her head.

"Yes, success... It's done." I whispered triumphantly.

"What's done, ra?" Kavya asked, perplexed.

"Will you give it?" Abhi asked, pulling Meenaxi closer, his arm circling her waist.

"Will a kiss really make you sleep, or should I do something else?" Meenaxi asked, raising her eyelids and looking at Abhi shyly.

Abhiram and Krishna (at a time) : "It's up to you. Kiss me every day. I want it every day. Understand. I fell for you the moment I saw you. Even knowing you like me, why do you want me to tell you?"

Kavya turned her neck, looking at me in surprise, I repeated Abhiram’s words. I quickly turned my gaze back to Abhi and Meenu. Meenu hugged Abhi, and he hugged her back. Meenaxi mumbled something, which I think was "I love you." They both looked into each other's eyes lovingly. Abhi bent his face and kissed Minu's lips. I instinctively placed my right hand over Kavya's eyes, closing them, but she pushed my hand away.

"Oh, let me watch," Kavya exclaimed. "I've never seen a live kiss before."

We continued watching. They were smacking their lips, Abhi holding Meenaxi's waist, and she was gently kissing his lower lip. They broke the kiss, and he kissed her neck. I took Kavya's hand.

"Come on, let's go," I urged.

"Hey, wait, let's watch," Kavya protested.

"Give them some privacy," I said, trying to pull her away.

"It's fine, wait."

He was pinching Meenaxi all over in the name of kissing. Oh God, think about it, what if someone comes? "This guy and his impatience," I muttered.

I was about to go forward and stop them, but Kavya held my hand and pulled me back.

"Wait, Krishna."

They both kissed again. Kavya was watching them like a kid watching a porn video for the first time.

"Hey, close your eyes, you're a girl," I chided playfully.

"Oh, go away, ra," she scoffed.

I laughed and was about to put my hands over Kavya's face when I tripped over a stone and fell. She laughed loudly. They saw us.

"Come on, let's go," Kavya said, pulling me up. "You useless guy, you disturbed them."

We both ran a short distance.

"I told him to propose, and he's kissing her on the road, damn his lust," I muttered, exasperated.

"Okay, see you tomorrow. I'm going home," Kavya said.

"Wait, let him come, we'll go together."

We both went to our Physics block; our bags were still in the classroom.

"Can I ask you something, Krishna?" Kavya asked, her voice thoughtful.

"Ask," I replied, my curiosity piqued.

"Have you seen all the campuses, didn't you see any other beautiful girl besides Meenu?"

"Uh-huh... No."

"Hmm... That means you won't fall in love anymore. You'll just say yes after seeing a girl in an arranged marriage, then."

"May be..."

"Then..." Just as she was about to say something more, Mahesh, sitting on his bike under a tree, called out, "Hey Harikrishna... come here."

"He hasn't called us lately. Why is he calling today?" Kavya wondered aloud.

"I don't know, let's go see. He'll stir up something," I replied, a sense of unease settling in.

"Don't get angry, okay?" Kavya cautioned.

"If he says anything to you, I will break his jaw," I vowed, a protective instinct rising within me.

Kavya put on her mask. I went and stood in front of Mahesh. "Namaste Mahesh bro. What happened bro, you haven't been around lately."

"Hi, sir," Kavya greeted him.

Karthik, who was with Mahesh, chimed in, "Oh Harikrishna, do you know any poems, stories, or tales?"

"Uh, sometimes I read stories, bro," I replied, unsure where this was going.

Mahesh grabbed my shoulders. "Now you have to recite a poem. Our Srujan is writing a story. You have to recite a poem for a scene in that story."

"That, bro..." I started, a sudden dread washing over me.

"Listen completely first. If what you say is good, I'll let it go. Srujan will use it. If not, Kavya will have to give me a kiss." He looked at Kavya, a smirk playing on his lips. "What, Kavya baby, okay?"

Kavya looked down anxiously, her body tensing.

"Brother, to say it like that right now..." I protested, trying to buy time.

"I don't know all that, say it, I should like it, go. Otherwise, Kavya will kiss me."

What was he doing today, setting this up? I could fight, but there's an opportunity here. If I tried a little, I could recite a poem. Mahesh moved closer to Kavya.

"Take off your mask, Kavya," Mahesh ordered.

"Why?" she asked, a tremor in her voice.

"He won't be able to say it anyway. I need to kiss your lips, right?"

"No..." Kavya protested, her voice barely a whisper.

"The agreement is made, Kavya, you can't say no now," Mahesh said, his smirk widening.

What should I say? What's the theme? "Srujan bro, what should I say it for?" I asked, desperately trying to get some direction.

"A boy gets a breakup from a girl. He gets very emotionally depressed because of it," Srujan explained.

"Ha..."

What should I say? Breakup means he will remember the girl a lot and be sad. I looked at Kavya. She looked at me. Those eyes, those glances… they came to mind.

"Srujan bro, write it down," I said, a sudden inspiration striking me.

"A world without your glances showed darkness to my eyes."

Then, those words.

"Time without hearing your words brought forth words to my pen."

"Wow... say it, awesome," Srujan exclaimed.

Mahesh stopped. He came closer to me. More, more... I need to go closer to Kavya. Yes.

"The path leading to you became the course of my journey."

"Say the whole thing still. It should be good," Srujan urged.

"Give me five minutes, brother, I need to think," I requested.

Kavya came close to me. "Kavya, you go and get my bag too."

"Kavya, wait, it has to be over, and I have to like it," Mahesh interjected.

Kavya... Kavya...

"Your name, which remains as your memory, gave life to my love."

"It's a little odd. It's okay, say it," Srujan commented.

"Hmm..."

I thought for five... six minutes.

"Srujan bro, write it down... because if I have to say what I've already said again, I might forget."

"Okay, you say it..." Srujan replied, getting ready to write.

I took a deep breath, looked at Kavya, and blinked none.

A world without your glances
showed darkness to my eyes.
 Time without hearing your words
brought forth words to my pen.
The path leading to you became
the course of my journey.
The whispers of your thoughts have
become the song of my memories.
Your name, which remains as your memory,
gave life to my love.
You broke my heart into pieces and
painted sorrow as colors.
You chained my mind with scars and
cast me into a hellish prison.

Mahesh stepped back, his smirk gone.

"Super, ra.... It's good, Hari... You said it super," Srujan praised, his voice filled with admiration.

Mahesh went silent after Srujan's praise. As I took Kavya's hand to walk away, he stopped us again.

"Kavya, you go. You wait, ra," he said, signaling her to leave.

I reluctantly let go of Kavya's hand. As she left, she looked back at me, signaling me to come quickly.

"Hey, are you two lovers?" Mahesh blurted out, a direct question that caught me off guard. I shook my head awkwardly.

"No, brother... I mean... from my side."

Mahesh laughed. "Kavya is very cute, isn't she?"

"Hmm..." I mumbled, my cheeks growing warm.

"Srujan, are you done?" Mahesh asked.

"I'm done, shall we go?" Srujan replied.

"Krishna... It was just for fun, ra," Mahesh said, his tone softening. "Putting hands on her, asking like that. It might seem a bit vulgar, but I didn't mean anything by it."

I nodded, listening silently.

"Don't miss out on Kavya. We all think you two are lovers. Make it true. Go....."

Is this talk going around? Really? I silently left from there and went to class. Kavya was waiting for me outside the classroom. Abhi also came behind me and hugged me.

"Mama, did you see? It's done, I told her, she kissed me. Now it's your turn." Just then, he must have seen Kavya, and his mouth stopped mid-sentence. Clearing his throat, Abhi continued, "Okay... I agreed to drop Meenu home. I'll go."

He looked at me and Kavya once more.

"Okay... Bye," Kavya said.

"Bye... Bye, Hari..." Abhi said, quickly making his exit.

Just then, our Solid State Physics sir, peenu sir—oh, excuse me, Srinivas sir—came walking by.

"Kavya..." Srinu Sir addressed her.

"Good afternoon, sir," Kavya replied politely.

"Kavya, what is this, your score is very low. You already failed one subject. Lab attendance is three percent."

Our class was divided into three batches for the lab. Kavya was in Batch Z, and I was in Batch X. But I thought she had been attending the lab all these days.

"Harikrishna... you two are friends, right? You should tell Kavya something."

"Okay, sir," I replied.

"Many people don't come to college and just act like they've written the exams or not. It's fine if they don't get marks. You come every day, how can you skip lab like this, Kavya? Please take care of it," Sir said before walking away.

"You didn't go to the lab?" I asked Kavya, genuinely surprised.

"I didn't."

"Why?"

"I didn't feel like going, so I didn't," Kavya said, her voice flat.

"Then why didn't you tell me?" I retorted, a hint of exasperation in my tone.

"Oh, what happened now? Let's just go," she sighed. "I've already failed anyway. If this also goes, I'll just stay home."

I offered no response. It was a truth I knew well: those who truly desired to learn needed no prompting. And for those who lacked the inclination, no amount of urging would make a difference.

As we passed our campus gates, her hand found mine. "Stop," Kavya commanded, her voice laced with a sulky, pampered pout.

"What?" I asked, turning to her.

"Come here…" She tugged my hand, leading me towards the quiet side garden. "Did you break up with anyone?"

I blinked, momentarily taken aback. My mind, still fixated on her academic woes, had expected a plea for help with her studies. "No. Why do you ask?"

"Because you said it with so much feeling."

"What feeling, I don't know," I mumbled, a knot of tension forming in my stomach. "But when they asked like that, it just came out."

"Hmm…" she hummed, a soft, unreadable sound.

"Hmm, shall we go?" I prodded.

The pout returned, more pronounced this time. "Hey, I feel like I'll fail again. Can you teach me everything?"

Ah, there it was. The real reason. A wave of mischievousness washed over me, and I found myself wanting to savor this moment, this pout, just a little longer. "You didn't study from the beginning," I said, a smirk playing on my lips. "What's the use of me teaching you now. Study…" My smile was arrogant, deliberately so.

"So arrogant. Go…" She wrinkled her nose in mock anger, turning away from me. "I'll study myself and pass, you good-for-nothing." With that, she stomped off.

She hadn't even gone to the lab. How could she possibly pass? "Hey, stop!" I called after her. "You don't have the guts. I'll tell you."

"Oh, go away…" she retorted, swaying her hips with exaggerated indignation. "You're such a topper, what would you tell to inferior people like me?" She continued to walk away, a defiant hussy.

"Stop, Kavya…."

"No need."

"Tomorrow, if the kids ask, 'Mommy, why did you fail?', and if you say 'Daddy didn't teach me the doubts,' I'll punch you on that pout, you silly chicken!"

What the…f… My loose tongue, it just wouldn't stay in check.

Her walking stopped. She wouldn't come back and strangle me again, would she…? I watched, captivated, as Kavya brought her right hand to her mouth, her back shaking. Was she laughing? Did she think what I said was a joke?

"You pervert, you've already gone to having kids?" she finally burst out, a ripple of laughter in her voice.

Phew…. It was settled. Relief washed over me. I walked forward, wrapping my arms around her from behind. She was so warm, so soft, like a fragrant rose. "I forgot," I whispered, burying my face in her hair. "There's a Suhagraath in between, right?"

"Chee you rascal…." She blushed, a shy smile gracing her lips. "Let go, Krishna."

I released her.

"I can't kiss. I'm shy. Bye…." And with that, she ran off.

"Hey, stop…."

"See you tomorrow. Bye…"

"On the bike…." No, let it be. I had to pick up Sandhya. I should definitely tell her about this.

My phone vibrated. It was Abhi.

"Hari… It's not possible today."

Why was he bailing on me like this? "Why, man?"

"Meenakshi and I are here."

"Dude, wasn't it an hour ago you proposed?"

"It's been an hour, man."

"Dude, the hero's performance should be more here, I should have more lust."

"These days even supporting characters get a lot of hype, buddy. Sorry. Ask some other time."

"Hey, you lustful dog. How could you bail on me like this? I won't get another chance."

"You'll get it, buddy. There's still time." He hung up.

With no other option, I decided to head to Mohan Uncle's house in Ashok Nagar. As I was making a U-turn near the Ashok Nagar bus stop, I saw Kavya getting off the bus. She wasn't looking at me. It was better that way, otherwise she'd ask what I was doing here. I sped up, went to Mohan Uncle's house, picked up my sister-in-law, and headed home. As I turned a corner, I craned my neck and saw a big board to the right. "**** Kalyana Mandapam". No, no…. It couldn't have been that.

I turned left, and then in the right mirror of the bike, Kavya was coming from the lane to the right. Kavya had said her house was also in Ashok Nagar, right? Her house must be somewhere around here. Never mind, I could look for it another time.

We reached home. The opportunity I lost in the evening came to me at night. That's the story. Then, there were more musical moments with my sister-in-law at home.

Two days later, I approached Murali Sir about Kavya's physics lab attendance. Sir, ever pragmatic, offered a solution: "Make fake entries for Kavya, meaning to adjust the equipment superficially for all the experiments listed for three days in the lab, write down some approximate readings, and enter them in the record."

So, there we were, Kavya and I, in the lab, doing just that. As I helped her adjust the scales, I rested my face on her shoulder. While she fixed a screw with both hands, her body's fragrance began to stir mischievous thoughts in my mind. I still didn't have the courage to ask her for a kiss. She never had flirtatious glances or gestures, apart from sometimes chatting naughtily. If I ever got a little mischievous and closer, she would widen her eyes and look threateningly, immediately making me timid. The kisses I couldn't get from Kavya, I used to get from my sister-in-law.

Another year of PG flew by. No more college, no more regular meetings with Kavya. She always maintained that her family wouldn't allow her so much freedom for us to meet directly, beyond calls and video calls. If I suggested visiting her house when her parents were out, she would never agree.

In 2022, notifications were released for Junior Lecturer posts in government colleges. For a Physics Lecturer, a PG was required. If we secured a rank among the 119 available posts, I will be selected. I set that as my goal and immersed myself in study.

In the winter of 2023, Abhi planned a Karnataka tour. I painstakingly convinced Kavya, and the four of us – myself, Kavya, Abhi, and Meenakshi – embarked on the trip together. We journeyed through the Chikmagalur hills, and on the way back, amidst the cool mountain forests, as evening descended, we discovered rented tents were available in the area. We set up our camp.

After dark, with a newfound leisure, we gathered around a campfire.

"It's a good setup, buddy," I remarked, "one tent for them, one for us."

"Not like that," Abhi countered, "Meenu and I in one tent, and you two in another."

"Big planning, huh?" I chuckled.

So Kavya and I sat side by side. Abhi and Meenakshi disappeared into their tent. Their shadows flickered outside, illuminated by the light within. He took off his shirt, and Meenakshi shed her sweater. We could even discern their silhouettes, as if they were lying on top of each other and kissing.

"Hey, you lustful bastard, turn off the light…" I muttered, glancing at Kavya. "She won't even kiss me if the mood strikes here."

The light in their tent extinguished. Here, Kavya's phone torch flickered on, shining directly into my eyes. The light was too strong, blurring my vision.

"Turn it off," I winced.

She turned it off and settled into my lap. I wrapped my arms around her, burying my face in her neck and kissing her.

"I won't let you kiss me, then what's this?" Kavya whispered, a hint of amusement in her voice.

"That's not it, it's more than that."

"Krishna…"

I hugged her tightly around her waist. "Hmm, tell me."

"Say something?"

"What should I say?"

"Anything?"

I fell silent. We both looked up at the vast expanse of the night sky, where stars twinkled like scattered diamonds. I kissed her cheek.

"Only these," she murmured. "Everything else after marriage."

"Okay, look at those stars," I prompted.

"Huh, I'm looking."

"Look carefully," I instructed. "See the one near the moon in the upper right corner? It doesn't twinkle."

"But it shines, right?"

"Not like that, it doesn't twinkle, the light just keeps coming. Look at the others, they twinkle."

"Yes, that's right."

"This isn't a star, it's a planet," I explained. "That's why it doesn't twinkle, the light just keeps coming."

"I didn't know this, you know.”

I kissed her forehead. "Hmm…. Shall I tell you something? The Earth rotates around the sun and also spins like a top."

"Yes, I know."

I kissed her nose. "Not only that, the Earth also rotates at an angle, as if it's tilting sideways."

"Hmm, I know this too."

"I'll tell you something else," I continued. "The sun also rotates around our galaxy and spins like a top on its own axis."

"Hmm…"

"Not only the sun, but other stars also rotate like this." I slipped my hands inside her sweater, gently rubbing my cold fingers on her waist. She blissfully kissed my chin.
"Hmm…"

"Now, there's a star that revolves directly in line with our sun. It's behind the sun, that's why we can't see it."

"Huh…" I moved my hands a little further down her beautiful body. "Now, listen, I'll tell you more."

"Enough, Krishna."

"Why, is it boring you?" She laughed, a sweet, musical sound.

"You naughty Krishna," she teased, "your mischievous acts are enough, that's what I'm saying."

I kissed her neck.

"Oh, no, Krishna."

"Should I tell you or not?"

"Tell me…"

"The Earth rotates at an angle, right?" I touched her left breast with my ice-cold index finger.

"Mmmmmm…" She bit her lower lip with her teeth.

"As the angle changes, the pole angle changes, and whichever star our Earth physically points to becomes our North Star." I pressed my tongue into the soft curve of her neck, lingering there.

"Isss, enough."

"Should I tell you or not?"

"Oh, tell me."

"Once every nine hundred sixty years, the star that revolves in alignment with our sun changes." I placed my right hand completely over her soft, boob-like heart and gently squeezed it.

"Aah…." she moaned passionately. I inhaled the scent of her hair on her neck and lightly stroked it with my fingertips.

"Mmmmmm…. Krishna, tell me…"

"So, once every nine hundred sixty years, a star changes, and our sun aligns with twenty-seven stars, and after twenty-six thousand years, our sun aligns with the first star again." I twirled my thumb on her erect, warm nipple.

"Mmmmmm… We won't be alive for that many years. What's the point of knowing? Tell me something else."

"Will you come into the tent?"

She buried her face in my neck, her voice deep and intoxicating. "Take me."

I picked her up, carried her into the tent, and made her sit down. "Tell me."

I held her face in my hands, looking into her eyes, and stroked her lower lip. "Kavvi…."

"Hmm…."

"How beautiful you are. I fell for you the moment I saw you. Give me a kiss."

"I already gave you one, didn't I?"

"Not like that, I feel like biting your lips."

"Oh no, don't."

"Don't say that. I've imagined so much for three years."

"Let's wait a few more days."

"Give me a kiss, I'll control myself."

With a pout, "Uh-huh…"

"Okay, I'll tell you a poem," I offered. "Will you give me one if you like it?"

"Haha…."

"Will you give me one?"

"First, it has to be good, right?"

I cleared my throat and began:

My sweet Mayuri, you a playful friend.
A clever wordsmith, an annoying cutie.
Are you an illusion with icy eyes,
or a mesmerizing mynah bird.
 You sway your swan waist,
a beauty that throws me off course.
Are you a hopping rabbit,
my beloved, who brings me joy.
You are the moonlight of my love,
and I being with you, as your shadow.
If you give me a kiss,
I will love you eternally as the very life, as my wife.

That’s it. Her strawberry-sweet lips pressed against mine. I put my hand behind her head and took her upper lip into my mouth. Kissing, I lowered her onto her back, and started sucking that strawberry juice. Leaving the taste, I kissed her neck, pulling up the edges of her sweater. Her t-shirt came off with the sweater. Nothing was visible in the dark. I took off my t-shirt and hugged her.

"Aah…"

I rubbed her neck and completely took off her t-shirt. Throwing both our shirts aside, I inhaled the scent of her neck. I lifted both her arms and buried my nose in her armpit, sniffing her sweat.

"Isss…. No."

I kissed her armpit. "Aah…." she shivered.

"Hmm, Kavvi…..", licked armpit folds.

"Chee, no… dirty rascal." She pushed me aside.

I rested my head under her neck again, closing my eyes.

"Chee, I thought you were dark and dirty, but these are filthy fantasies stupid."

"Just wait till we get married, you little chicken…"

"I'll slap you. The kiss is over, shut up and sleep."

"Kavvi…. Let's do it…."

"Oh no…"

"I even brought condoms."

"Don't ask, I'll get in the mood."

I quickly went down, held her waist, and kissed her belly button.

"Aah… Krishna, no… I'm not ready."

I went back up. "Hey…. Really no, are you scared because it's the first time?"

"Both, I guess. After marriage, it's up to you, dear… I love you…."

I kissed her forehead. "Haha…. Cool…. Kavvi, from now on, you're everything to me."

"Hmm…. I'll take care of you like Kanha, Krishna…"

I hugged her lovingly, burying my face on her heart, and we drifted off to sleep.

—-(

The Joint Lecturer exams were finally over, leaving me with a peculiar sense of aimlessness. To bridge the gap, I'd taken on a lecturer position at a private inter college in Karimnagar.

It was August 2024. My family, with an unusual burst of enthusiasm, had roused me early, insisting I bathe and dress in my finest clothes. Before I knew it, we were in the car, heading towards Karimnagar. My elder brother, the steady hand at the wheel, was focused on the road, while Peddamma sat beside him. In the back, I was sandwiched between my sister-in-law, Sandhya, on my right, and Vedh on my left. Vedh, ever curious, had the window half-open, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery.

As we entered Karimnagar, Sandhya gently reminded Vedh to close the window, a task I promptly carried out.

“Babai,” Vedh chirped, his voice bubbling with joy, “we’re going to Pinni’s house!”

“Mommy’s younger sister is your pinni, yes,” I corrected him playfully.

Vedh, however, was adamant. “No, mommy said we’re going to pinni’s house.”

I turned to Sandhya, a hint of confusion in my voice. “What’s up, Vadhina?”

Peddamma and Sandhya exchanged a soft chuckle, a knowing look passing between them.

Suddenly, a realization dawned on me. “Oh my God,” I thought, “these people have played a ‘Chakra Dhoopi Maya Melody’ on me.” It hit me like a ton of bricks: this was my match-making day. We were on our way to see a girl.

I glanced at Sandhya. She pursed her lips, a mischievous smile playing on them.

“Vadhina,” I whispered, “I told you about Kavya, didn’t I?”

Sandhya, her voice firm, cut me off. “Don’t talk about Kavya now. Let’s finish the current task first.”

“Are you crazy? I’m not coming,” I retorted, a surge of panic rising within me.

“Oh, just be quiet,” Sandhya insisted.

“Be quiet about what? Ugh…” My protests were cut short as the car pulled to a stop in front of Mohan Uncle’s house.

Mohan Uncle’s house? What the f… Hadn’t his daughter gotten married yet? And he’d already bought a building in Hyderabad for his would be nephew without her even getting married?

As soon as I stepped out of the car, I made a beeline for the tree in front of the function hall gate, my fingers already dialing Kavya’s number.

“Yeah, tell me, Kanha,” Kavya’s familiar voice answered.

“I have match-making,” I blurted out.

“Me too! Wow… what a coincidence, yaar…” she responded, her voice light and cheerful.

“Stop with the three languages,” I pleaded, my voice urgent. “I’m near your house, come on, let’s elope.”

“Why?” she asked, a hint of surprise in her tone.

“I can’t tell my family about our love. Let’s just get married in a temple and come back,” I reasoned, my mind racing.

“Krishna, my foolishness has rubbed off on you,” Kavya scoffed. “Shut up and go see the girl at the match-making.”

“Yeah, after seeing her…” I began, but she cut me off.

“Lick her armpits you pervert!” she hit, and then the line went dead.

With a heavy sigh, I walked into Mohan Uncle’s house. Everyone was already there.
“What, Hari?” Mohan Uncle greeted me, a broad smile on his face. “You asked I did have daughters, didn’t you?”

Unable to articulate a response, I offered a shy smile, not wanting to hurt his feelings. He approached me, placing his hands on my shoulders.

“My daughter is upstairs in the penthouse,” Mohan Uncle informed me. “You go and introduce yourself. We elders will discuss the rest.”

I looked at Peddamma and Sandhya, a bewildered expression on my face.

“Go on,” Rajamani urged, “she’ll be your mardalu (younger sister-in-law).”

A mix of fluster and anxiety churned in my stomach as I ascended the stairs.

Kavya… Kavya… Kavya… it must be… my mind prayed, clinging to a sliver of hope.

Reaching the top, I found a charming space adorned with small plants, flower pots, and a ten-foot-long pothos plant. The room door was ajar. I didn’t see anyone inside. I stepped through the doorway and took three steps further.

Suddenly, a figure appeared from behind, placing hands on my shoulders. She pulled me back down and kissed my cheek, just below my ear. “Oh, I’ll give you a kiss, Bava,” a familiar voice whispered, “will you keep me in your heart?”

“Kavya….” The name escaped my lips, a breathless whisper.

I turned, my hands instinctively going to her waist. I gazed into her eyes – the same rosy cheeks, the same red-lipsticked lips, the same silvery moonlight face, laughing like a child. She hugged me tightly, her embrace familiar and comforting.

“Why didn’t you recognize me, Bava?” Kavya asked, a playful reproach in her voice. “You blocked the way at Sandhyakka’s wedding in tenth grade, and then blocked the way at another wedding. You said I was beautiful, don’t you even remember my face that much?”

My mind reeled, filled with a sense of wonder. That girl, I dashed in my brother wedding, is Kavya, how couldn’t I memorise, may be I’m so mesmerised in Sandhya’s presence.

I wrapped my arms around her back, holding her close. It was true, I mused, when you feel love for someone, you should tell them. If you can’t tell, you should show it. Besides these two, what was this third game, these hide-and-seek games? Only Kavya would know.

I pulled her back gently, a question in my eyes. “Why all this?”

Kavya’s gaze softened. “My family wanted to marry me to you when we were in degree college. But I was afraid you’d reject me once we actually came for the match-making.” Tears welled up in her eyes.

“Kavvi…” I murmured, my voice filled with tenderness.

“Listening to my family discussing, I only imagined you, Bava,” she continued, her voice trembling slightly. “I’m afraid you would say no? Even though I didn’t like studying, I came for PG for you, to be with you.”

I reached out, gently wiping a tear from her cheek. My fingers brushed her lips.

“I told you, didn’t I?” I whispered, a mischievous glint in my eyes. “If you gave me a kiss, I wouldn’t say no.”

She stood on her tiptoes, reaching for my lips. The kiss left a trail of saliva on my chin. I playfully pushed her against the wall, raising her right hand.

“Stop,” Kavya chuckled, “they’ll be waiting.”

“You said ‘lick armpits,’” I retorted, pulling her closer, “so I will.”

“Chee, mad Krishna,” she giggled, pushing me away playfully. “You stay here. I’ll go. Come after two minutes.”

I smiled, watching her as she left the room.

December 5, 2024. Our wedding day. The function hall next to Kavya’s house buzzed with laughter and celebration.

December 6, 2:12 AM.

My silk dhoti, shirt, and baniyan lay haphazardly next to the bed, scattered along with Kavya’s white silk saree, golden kumkum blouse, red bra, and panty. I couldn’t even recall where I’d thrown them in the blissful haze of the night. Forgive me.

Under the warmth of a single blanket, Kavya broke the silence. “Bava… the priest mentioned the Arundhati star, what did we even see?”

“Oh, you chicken brain,” I teased, “stars aren’t visible during the daytime, but that star is still there.”

“Then how do you know it’s there?” she countered, genuinely curious.

“Remember what I told you that day, the Earth’s axis changes,” I explained.

“Ah, yes,” she replied, a light of understanding in her eyes.

“Approximately twelve thousand years ago, the Earth’s axis was such that the Arundhati star was visible at night,” I elaborated.

“Oh, you mean it like that?”

“Shall I tell you why they only show the Arundhati star?” I offered.

“Yeah, tell me, tell me!” she urged, her voice filled with anticipation.

“They are twin stars, Kavvi,” I whispered, “Arundhati and Vasishta are two stars that are a pair, together. They show them so that married couples like us will stay together forever, like those stars.”

“But I have a doubt…” she began.

“I’ll tell you later…” I murmured, trailing a kiss down her neck.

“Oh, stop, tell me now, Bava,” she protested, squirming playfully.

“Alright, what is it?” I conceded.

“But in that era, there was no telescope,” she pondered, “so how did they know they were twin stars?”

“That’s human greatness, the glory of India,” I replied, a sense of awe in my voice. “I don’t know how they knew, but you know how to put me to sleep.”

“If you talk science like this, I get wet in my thighs bava,” Kavya whispered, her voice husky.

“Then come on, let’s make love all night,” I suggested, pulling the blanket further over us both.

“Aahh… Bava, don’t bite,” Kavya moaned softly, a playful warning in her voice. “Wasn’t biting my sister enough?”

This is Vadhina’s vyuham, indeed. Krishnakavyam.”
