Chapter 1: A Story of Choices and Dilemmas
Asha and Zahul are married since last 9 years. They have two daughters, They own a 180 sq. yard flat in a society. Zahul earns ₹3 lakh a year and is in a private job. Asha earns ₹1 lakh and works in a government job. Despite having a stable life, Asha has tried for the last 9 years to get full love and intimacy from Zahul but failed. Zahul doesn’t show extra care or love as he doesn’t know how to do it.
Lucky and Priya have been married for 14 years. They have a boy. Priya loves Lucky, but Lucky doesn’t love Priya. Lucky feels obligated to stay with Priya as her family and she have done a lot for him. Lucky, a government employee, earns ₹1 lakh. They own a 100 sq. yard flat.
Asha and Lucky fell in love. Asha left her husband’s home and moved to her mother’s house. Zahul is adamant about bringing her back and doesn’t want to divorce her. Zahul’s family also insists that she should return. Meanwhile, Asha’s sister is adamant that Asha should give her marriage one more chance and take therapy with Zahul.
Lucky is now in a difficult position. He doesn’t have the financial stability to provide the same lifestyle Asha currently has. Priya, being a homemaker, depends entirely on Lucky, and he feels the weight of guilt about abandoning her at the age of 35. The uncertainty of his financial future adds to the pressure.
Asha is torn. Should she divorce Zahul and wait for Lucky, or is this a bad decision?
