"No, I don't want you guys to ruin your day again after that rafting accident," she replied. "Please continue without me."

She turned away and pretended to hold her ankle. Ravish picked her leg up carefully and examined it. She closed her eyes, feigning the injury.

Priya, who stood nearby said, "Look Ravish, it doesn't look serious. Maybe it's just swollen and will get better soon. Why don't we go down and get her home?"

"No," cried Kavya. "I'll sit here and you can go to the temple and come back. It's my mistake to come on this trip and ruin everything for you all. So please forgive me," she said, crying heavily.

The entire group fell silent. They wanted to stay with her, but if they didn't complete the trekking, Kavya might sulk for being a spoilsport.

"We can't just allow her to be alone in the forest..." began Suhail.

Mani felt elated. This was the opening he was looking for. He just wanted someone else to suggest it.
"Yes, you are right. We can't leave her alone," he said. "It's better you folks continue the trip and I'll take Kavya back to the resort. Once we reach there, I'll check her foot and treat it properly. But before that, why don't you finish the last part of the journey together? We are almost at the top. It won't take much time."

Everybody agreed, but Priya looked at him suspiciously.

"Why are you sacrificing your trip for the second time for her?" asked Priya sarcastically. "You want to always stay with her, don't you?"

Mani blushed at the comment and said, "It's not like that, Priya. She needs someone to carry her in case she can't continue. Who do you think might be the best person in this group?"

He was right. Suhail was built like a twig while Ravish was slightly obese.
