Description
Jane is an aspiring writer, who, like everyone else before her, parachutes straight into the writing jungle. And, like everybody else, she find herself hung up on a tree with her parachute. The tree is the writing skill How to Write in Limited POV. She looks around and notices a hundred more trees from which other aspiring writers are dangling. She cuts the parachute lines, drops to the ground, makes a somersault forward, and jumps to her feet. Around her, writers of all ages are cutting paths through the jungle. Jane can see just ten meters into the thicket. She is desperate for a map and a navigation system. Help, she calls.Well-meant answers arrive from all directions. Create an interesting character and give her a great goal. Write what you want to read. Create a sense of wonder. The more conflict, the better. Don t write to get published, grab the reader. Be captivating. Or memorable. Keep the reader turning pages. Be unpredictable and keep the reader curious. Five years later, Jane is still cutting her way through the writing wilderness. She has hugged countless writing skill trees, sun-tanned at the romance beach, ascended the suspense mountain, and hiked the Hero s Journey track. But the storytelling jungle remains unchartered land. What else is out there? She still hopes for a map and navigation system.

The musical sound of the French language tends to conjure certain images for English-speakers. Leisurely mornings of coffee and pastries in a caf . The Bohemian life of an artist on the Left Bank of the Seine. The romance of Je t'aime. The understatement of a va. the inspiration of Libert , galit , and Fraternit : French is a beautiful and global language, and one of the most rewarding you can study.

Yet as with learning any new language, it can be a frustrating experience. Dozens if not hundreds of platforms promise to teach you with buzzwords like immersion, and suggest that passive listening for a few minutes a day is all it takes to learn a new language. There s no getting around it: learning a new language is challenging, and it requires active participation. But with the right approach, it should also be a fun and incredibly rewarding endeavor.

Learning French: A Rendezvous with French-Speaking Cultures includes what most platforms omit: context. In these 30 lively, step-by-step lectures, Professor Ann Williams of the Metropolitan State University of Denver has crafted an effective and engaging course that gives you the core building blocks of the language while also giving you crucial insight into the relationship between French and French-speaking cultures. This ingenious approach is perfect for adult language learners who are serious about enjoying and using the French language.

This course is designed to provide an insider s look at the French-speaking world, and it reveals the deep and often invisible intersection between language and culture. By touring France and countries such as Morocco, Canada, Senegal, and others, Professor Williams gives you a feel for everyday life, highlighting the vocabulary you need for success, whether you are looking to get around as a tourist or want to engage with the people and the culture on a deeper level.

Acquiring a new language takes time and patience, but you will love the process in this course. Professor Williams makes learning French a joy with these comprehensive lectures, which are filled with conversations to help you practice as well as insider tips to give you insights about the nuances of the culture. Learning French: A Rendezvous with French-Speaking Cultures presents a hands-on tour of the language that will open up an entirely new world for you.

Learn the Essentials of a Beautiful, Global Language

Beyond the romance and musicality of its status as a Romance language, French is a growing world language, the official language in 30 countries and widely spoken in many more. After learning the language, you will join 200 million people around the world who use French every day, from the day-to-day use in homes and neighborhoods to the high-stakes world of international business or United Nations diplomacy.

To get you going from minute one in this course, Professor Williams starts with the basic premise that you already know a great deal of French thanks to its close connection to English. Using what you know through cognates as a springboard, you ll immediately dive into the unique features of French. The opening lectures take you under the hood of the language, showing you key concepts of grammar that will guide you through the rest of the course and beyond.

Professor Williams then takes a practical, step-by-step tour of the language, helping you understand the underlying principles to give you a deeper appreciation for the language. The course gives you the perfect blend of grammatical theory and real-world usage. For instance, you will

Learn a wealth of de-coding skills to help you learn through context.
Gain quick access to the basics of how to get around in a French-speaking country.
Explore word families to make connections between common words to broaden your vocabulary.
Find out how to engage with French speakers in different contexts, from business transactions to dinner party conversations.
Unlock the secrets of French verb forms, including the present, past, imperfect, subjunctive, and future tenses.
Grasp the cultural underpinnings and the underlying structure of the language, making it easy to absorb vocabulary and apply grammatical principles.
Because French is spoken from the very beginning of the course, you will immediately get a sense for the sounds and rhythms of the language, aided by some remarkable pronunciation tips as well as and pitfalls to avoid before you can develop any common bad habits. And while Professor Williams emphasizes conversational French, she also sprinkles in examples from menus, street signs, poems, and other texts to help you build your reading knowledge. Helpful graphics translate key words throughout, ensuring you both see and hear the language.

Bridge the Connection Between Language and Culture

Language can never be divorced from culture, and effective communication requires an understanding of a society s mores. This course s subtitle A Rendezvous with French-Speaking Cultures indicates Professor Williams brilliant method for bringing the language to life. She examines the values and subtleties of French-speaking cultures, which will help you refine your interactions with French speakers, making them more natural and easygoing.

For example, the French tend to value courtesy. If you approach an attendant to inquire about upcoming train schedules, you ll have better luck if you greet him or her with a polite Bonjour or Excusez-moi first. Likewise, understatement is more common in France than in the United States. Whereas Americans always seem to be doing Great! the French are more likely to say things are Pas mal (not bad).

Among other cultural practices, you will reflect on

Mealtime customs
Travel hints
The rhythms of conversation
Technology and privacy
The language of leisure
Holiday customs
And more
In addition to the cultural basics of getting around, you will also delve into the arts and heritage of the French-speaking world. Professor Williams guides you through museums and art galleries, cinemas and concert halls, to introduce you to some of the touchstones that make each culture unique. She develops the grammar lessons and vocabulary around cultural topics so that, rather than simply memorizing words, you build your knowledge around each theme, making the learning process easier and more enjoyable.

Build a Toolkit for a Lifelong Journey

This course mirrors college-level French but offers terms and cultural insights you wouldn t ordinarily find in a basic survey of the language. In fact, Professor Williams conversation-based approach and the self-pacing of video lectures will likely help people who may have struggled to learn French in the past. Combined with the professor s infectious enthusiasm, the stunning on-screen visuals and the studio props make comprehension easy and enjoyable.

One of the strengths of her approach is the way Professor Williams moves forward while circling back to re-visit key concepts. Subsequent lectures clarify the initial encounters with words and phrases, helping you learn through repetition. And because practice makes perfect, the course comes with a Language Lab, specially crafted spoken exercises to practice your lessons. A workbook, the Cahier d'exercices, provides written support for the content of each lecture.

If there s one piece of advice Professor Williams has to offer for success, it s that learning a language is a lifelong pursuit. She expertly guides you through 30 clear and wide-ranging lessons, giving you a remarkable introduction to one of the world s great languages. Learning French: A Rendezvous with French-Speaking Cultures makes acquiring and, most important, using French easier than you ever imagined, and when you complete the course, you will be poised for the next step in your journey.

What Will You Learn?
Discover an appreciation for French as a global language and gain several years' worth of conversational French.

As you learn basic and intermediate French, explore French-speaking cultures and their relationship to the language.

Tour France and other French-speaking countries to develop an intermediate understanding of the language and culture.

Explore the fundamentals of conversational French to learn the language, better understand French-speaking cultures, and gain new perspectives on the world.

Description
Hello everyone, As you know, China is among the most powerful countries, and therefore, the demand for China and Chinese is increasing day by day. People generally think that Chinese is a very difficult language and they hesitate to start learning it. But Chinese is not as difficult a language as it seems. The characters are intimidating at first and are considered difficult to memorize. But as you will notice during the course and I will constantly emphasize, the characters are not that different from each other. During the tutorial I will talk about the relationships between the characters and it will be much easier to keep in mind that way. In this tutorial series, I will teach about 200 Chinese sentences. One of the most useful points of learning a language with sentences is that you will see the words you have learned in many different sentences, so it will be very difficult for you to forget and you will be able to understand them much more easily. Another point is that we will learn the sentences that you can use in daily conversation, that is, you will be able to use the sentences we learned directly from the stories or similar sentences when talking to a Chinese friend. This will allow you to speak fluently. I prepared this course for those who don't know anything about Chinese, so you don't need any foundation. Try to fully understand the sentences I have explained in the videos and do not hesitate to ask me about the points you do not understand. I will answer your questions with additional videos. I recommend that you work by typing the characters at the beginning. In this way, you will be able to grasp the structure of the characters much faster.

Multivariate Calculus

What you'll learn
This course provides a complete lecture series for third semester Calculus. For reference, it includes most topics covered in Chapters 12-16 of Stewart Calculus: Early Transcendentals, but does not directly utilize or require this text, and can be easily adapted to any standard Calculus III curriculum. If you just stumbled upon this course, be aware this is not a series of sleek power point slides...I made these videos at the urging of former students and they are designed to give (as close as possible) the feel of my actual classroom lectures, complete with (virtual) whiteboard lectures, discussions of theory, and many sample problems.
Topics include working with vectors in R^2 aand R^3, vector-valued functions, partial derivatives, optimization, double and triple integrals, line integrals, and surface

Requirements
Calculus I and II
Be able to compute basic derivatives (including product, quotient, and chain rule) and basic integrals (including u-substitution and integration by parts).

Description
This course is comprised of the curriculum typical of a third semester Calculus course, including working in three-dimensions, vectors (including vector operations and calculus with vector functions), partial derivatives (and their applications), multiple integrals, and vector calculus. Presented by a professor who has taught this class in a face-to-face environment countless times, these videos are my classroom lectures performed instead using a virtual whiteboard. Also included are the exam review sheets, practice exams and solutions provided to my classes.

Who this course is for
These lectures can be utilized by students seeking an entire course in Calculus III or wishing to supplement a class they are currently enrolled in.

Description
Locationwahl, Kleidung, Make up, etc.

Who this course is for

[/center]
The piano with its rich tonal resources, orchestral textures, and ability to convey both melody and harmony has attracted great composers throughout its history. The result is a repertoire of keyboard works of astonishing size and scope, going far beyond that of any other musical instrument.

This phenomenal repertoire, which spans more than 300 years of Western music, includes many of classical music s most beloved masterpieces. Treasures of this tradition include

The Baroque-era genius of Johann Sebastian Bach, whose preludes and fugues, toccatas, and suites set the standard for keyboard writing.
Sonatas, variations, and related piano works by Classical giants Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, and the transitional figure of Franz Schubert.
Romantic masterworks ranging from Frederic Chopin s mazurkas, nocturnes, and ballades and Robert Schumann s multi-form piano works to Johannes Brahms s variations and glorious small-scale pieces, and Franz Liszt s virtuosic Hungarian Rhapsodies.
At the turn of the 20th century, the mystical piano works of Aleksandr Scriabin, and the impressionistic textures of Claude Debussy s and Maurice Ravel s keyboard writing.
A dazzling spectrum of 20th- and 21st-century piano music, pioneering new forms and new tonalities, from Arnold Schoenberg, Sergei Prokofiev, and Charles Ives to George Crumb, Florence Price, and George Walker, all of whom extended the expressive voice of the piano.
These works and many more form the piano literature that continues to move and enchant us; it comprises one of the most powerful legacies in Western art.

In Great Piano Works Explained, you ll dig deeply into this magnificent tradition, in a far-reaching exploration of the art of listening, seen from the bench of a pianist. In these 24 musically rich lectures, taught with passion and deep insight by Professor Catherine Kautsky of Lawrence University, you ll encounter the composers named above and more, finding your way to the heart of their extraordinary music for the piano.

Experience the Sublime Richness of the Piano Repertoire

In this illuminating course, Professor Kautsky coaches you in hearing and understanding the great works for the piano, with a special feature: In addition to her esteemed teaching, she is a celebrated pianist, and she demonstrates the works under discussion in real-time, at the keyboard, illustrating both excerpts and entire works through her own expressive and thoughtful playing.

With her inspired guidance, you ll highlight key works of each composer, and unpack their structure, the musical materials that drive them, and the specific features that affect listeners so strongly, giving you a clear grounding in how to approach and hear this great music.

Within the Baroque and Classical periods, you ll look in depth at works such as

Bach s Well Tempered Clavier and French Suite No. 5 Discover the radiant beauty of Bach s keyboard creations in the brilliant counterpoint of two fugues from the WTC, and in the emotional range of this vibrant dance suite.
Mozart s Sonata in C Minor, K. 457 Hear the influence of opera in this intense and tempestuous sonata, where Mozart uses dialogue between opposing themes and magical key changes to transport the listener from joy to sorrow, and back again, in an ever-changing kaleidoscope of emotions.
Beethoven s Sonata Opus 110 In this monumental late sonata, witness how Beethoven constructs the work as an unforgettable musical journey; study the majestic first movement, the dramatic Allegro molto, and the Arioso and great fugue that ends the sonata in triumphant affirmation.
Schubert s Sonata in Bb, D. 960 This large-scale sonata, written in the last year of Schubert s life, features unforgettable themes and an intriguing dichotomy between keys. Tour the first movement: You ll love the melodies, and you ll see how one small trill gives rise to the harmonic plan of the entire work.
In exploring these extraordinary works, you ll learn about the structural forms that underlie the music. As a case in point, you ll take a penetrating look at sonata form, a core musical structure that has influenced Western classical music for 250 years. As Professor Kautsky explains, Sonata form demands conflict; above all, between keys. We ll have an exposition that exposes two keys, a development that prolongs the tension between them, and a recapitulation that provides reconciliation. As a tool for listening, this understanding of the structure of the music makes the unfolding musical narrative clear and accessible.

Explore the Expressive Range of a Magnificent Instrument

Throughout the course, you ll examine the remarkable ways that composers have used the resources of the piano to create vastly different musical and expressive effects. They range from Bach s masterful, contrapuntal keyboard writing and Schubert s songlike lyricism to the dramatic textures of Brahms, the otherworldly tonalities of Debussy, and the jagged dissonance of Alban Berg and other modernist masters.

As exemplars of grand Romantic keyboard writing, you ll delve into

Schumann s Kreisleriana, Papillons, and Carnaval Delight in the resplendent musical tapestries of Schumann s piano cycles, anthology-like works which give free rein to his wild, kaleidoscopic imagination, revealing multiple musical characters and sonic landscapes.
Chopin s Ballade in F Minor In one of the supreme Romantic masterpieces for the piano, grasp how Chopin delivers a seemingly epic musical narrative within twelve minutes, moving from lyric tenderness and deep sentiment to a passionate, thunderous denouement.
Liszt s Petrarch Sonnet No. 104 From the piano s most swashbuckling virtuoso, savor the contours of this ruminative, evocative pianistic poem. It s based on Petrarch s ode to despairing, unrequited love, and its rich, chromatic harmonies and impassioned thematic development do the poetry full justice.
Refine the Skills of Listening to Great Music

Parallel with these evolving musical creations came remarkable developments in the instrument itself, mechanical innovations that extended the tonal resources of the piano, as well as its carrying power, giving us the modern concert grand piano, an acoustic instrument that can fill an opera house with sound.

In these lectures, you ll learn how the developing features of the instrument itself inspired composers, and how they employed them, from Mozart s use of dynamics (gradations of sound from very soft to very loud) and Chopin s use of the pedal, bathing the piano s sonorities in overtones, to Sergei Rachmaninoff s pyrotechnical keyboard virtuosity and B la Bart k s use of the percussive possibilities of the modern piano.

And, through Professor Kautsky s commentary and expert playing, you ll learn about the specific techniques of touch, articulation (notes that are sounded separately or linked together), phrasing (the shaping of melodies), and expressive pedaling that realize the composers directions to the pianist and bring the music to life in performance.

As the lectures enter the 20th and 21stcenturies, you ll encounter

Debussy s Claire de Lune and Preludes. Grasp the compositional means behind one of the most beloved pieces in the repertoire the ethereal, floating Claire de Lune, and taste the exoticism, humor, and flights of fancy of Debussy s incandescent Preludes.
Schoenberg s Sechs kleine Klavierst cke and Berg s Sonata for Piano. From the man who coined the phrase, the emancipation of dissonance, you ll encounter a new harmonic language, and in the jarring tonalities and anguish of the Klaviersonate by his student, Alban Berg, you ll hear the tensions that spawned much of the 20th century s music.
Charles Ives Concord Sonata. In this American innovator s magnum opus, inspired by the 19th-century transcendentalist writers, unconventional harmonies, dense textures, and multiple musical quotations all coexist in a massive, sprawling artistic statement.
In Great Piano Works Explained, you ll study masterpieces from a wide selection of the great composers, deepening your skill in hearing, understanding, and appreciating these timeless creations of the human spirit.

What Will You Learn?
Study key works of many composers, from Bach and Mozart through music written in the 21st century

Unpack the structure of many musical examples and the specific features that affect listeners so strongly

Gain a clear grounding in how to approach and hear this great music

Level up with a curriculum by an instructor who has worked in audio production for majors, international publishing houses, has tens of millions of streams on multiple platforms grown organically and independently, and has collaborated with Grammy nominated and Award Winning Production teams. This course was born out of a necessity to provide a way to learn and level up Audio Production skills without having to spend or work on expensive studio equipment or buy expensive software programs up front in order to learn how to master and understand these tools. The course will show you the best tools available and teach you to discern for yourself how and what you need for high quality productions. It will prove to you by the time you complete it that you can create top level productions without being a musical virtuoso or having an expensive studio from the get go; you can learn top level production with just your computer and headphones. Here s why this course stands out from the thousands of other production courses out there right now:1. Learn to master the best technological tools in the world without spending any money on expensive software or hardware. We will be learning and working with one of the top industry standard software in the world, Ableton, and covering advanced engineering skills such as multi-band compression without expecting you to have access to a studio or make any purchases. Everything we will be using will be free to download. By learning these tools upfront you will see the true potential of Audio Production and will be able to move ahead working professionally from home or applying for jobs without wasting valuable time or money. You will be learning a top professional DAW Software used by industry company engineers like Universal, Sony, Warner etc as well as the fundamentals under the hood of how the these Software work for translatable skills into other top DAWS such as Pro-Tools and Logic. This course is designed for producers of all levels who want to learn the professional skills needed who are stuck with unfinished productions along with those who want to begin working Professionally in Audio Production for 2020. 2. The Instructor of this course has worked as a head engineer (mixing and mastering) and co-producer (writing and arranging) for majors, indies, and international publishing houses including working with Grammy nominated and Award Winning Productions. I have headed and worked in engineering and production for record labels and companies from the ground up to viral successes again and again all over the world from studios and Labels in Detroit, LA, Montreal and Berlin. This is my love and my life. I am not some advertisement company guy trying to sell something, but someone who is passionate and committed to sound and audio production through and through. I believe my work speaks for me. Both sound design and music, writing and arranging, is my whole life effort and I believe there needs to be a course available to people which is actually accessible and comprehensive for anyone who is willing to learn and not just courses taught by teachers without the experience or these short master classes which truthfully only offer a glimpse and do not really provide the necessary foundations and ground up process to achieving your dream goals. 3. This course offers you a platform for submitting your projects as well as monthly challenges to be streamed for thousands of listeners worldwide as well as fast-tracked to industry people with real life invaluable feedback! Once you ve completed this course, your productions skills will have advanced to a whole other level. If you took this course unable to make your drums sound the way you wanted to before, you will leave complete with the knowledge of how to do so. If you couldn t finish your productions more than 70% and kept hitting walls wasting time googling tutorial after tutorial, you ll come out of this with that extra 30% plus extra. We will be learning starting at the very very beginning with the science behind sound waves and audio signals and work our way up to become a full fledged Professional in Audio Production. We will build a full blown Radio Electronic Pop Production and continue forward with advanced midi automation and conversion algorithms. This is the kind of record along experience that you can t get or find from other courses. Those courses make you end up spending money you don t have so way better to save your money.4. You are going to have access to a large database of professional project files ranging from film scores to video game soundtrack productions including sample recordings, arrangements, and production techniques all set up for you and good to go completely free and at your disposal with in detail lessons on how they are built and operate. You will also be getting a library sample pack of personally recorded vintage synths and modulars, instrument performances, and vocals processed through beautiful preamps and a mixing board for you to use and listen to as you see fit. All the samples and all the projects that you will be working on in this course are absolutely license free and yours to do with as you please. That alone encompasses years of experience built into projects and expensive equipment sounds that you get just for signing up! You will not find another course in the world offering this kind of sample package combined with live record along tutorials to show you how everything works step by step. 5. This course is set up to teach you the current modern tools and skills needed to get a job in audio related fields from music production to freelancing in audio processing or at the very least familiarize yourself with the modern tools needed to completing your own personal projects. With our online community you will be able to get mentoring help from me and other producers along with engage in active conversations and audio related topics on the daily. This course features the best and most current audio producing tools and techniques I have used and worked with over the years and will excel you in ways that other courses simply can t confined to just one software DAW or studio boxed mindset. You will have the knowledge to work with multiple types of audio software and in multiple industries and studio set ups. This is the definitive accessible Online Audio Production Course. You will be able to record-along, step by step through the videos and exercises, and complete the following projects:* Produce Professional High Quality Audio Music Productions and Sound FX * Create and Produce a short Film Score to add to your portfolio* Build and test the audio production of a Video Game soundtrack. * Engage in monthly challenges to have your projects streamed for thousands of listeners.* Apply for jobs in audio related fields with an advanced set of skills and modern techniques applicable for 2020* Work along side step by step mentored by an industry professional on unique projects that you can expand however you d like license free.* Finish Projects and get your sounds sounding professional and break through those walls holding you back.* Start working remotely freelancing on Audio Productions and sending out your work to Labels and publishing companies. I have put into this course the best techniques and tools that I ve used throughout my entire professional career. There are countless tutorials and master classes out there and it is very easy to get lost on a forum wasting time reading over differing opinions endlessly. But none of that gives you a true learning experience to understanding what s going on under the hood and being able to succeed not just in the course, but in your productions and career thereafter. This course is the solution for those who are stuck trying to figure out how to get things to sound better and overwhelmed with tutorials as well as those who want to get into modern sound production but aren t sure where to start and don t have the money to spend. This course embodies all of my years of experiences including the best things that work as well as the trappings to avoid, so you don t have to waste hours upon hours for nothing going back and instead just focus on moving forward and staying on track with the most modern tools available. This is a one of a kind program because there is not yet anything else out there that can offer you this in Audio Production. You re not going to come out of this stuck and feeling limited by just learning one software program, or feeling like you can t progress without buying 10 new instruments and outboard gear and practicing an instrument for the next 10 years. You will come out of it with something for more valuable, truly knowing how audio tools work to get high quality results and then being able to decide for yourself what you d like and not like to do; not out of necessity, but because you now hold the knowledge and the power. We re going to be learning many translatable and employable skills such as:* MIDI & Automation You will learn modern digital interfaces and the best tools and practices that are used by audio engineers and music producers at Majors like Universal, PolyGram & EMI. This is one of the most popular and powerful tool systems used in music production today.* How Tools like Compression Actually Works Demystify skills that are often misused and misunderstood even by the pros. You will have clear cut explanations and examples on how to get voice recordings sounding professional in a mix or pumping up your drums to punch in a big speaker listening room. * What actually are Sound Waves And Audio Signals Gain the under the hood knowledge into audio recordings so that you can advance to higher quality production levels over most other at home and professional producers. * How To Finish Projects And Not Just Starting New Ones Often, producers will get stuck halfway or three quarters through their projects not because they don t have the vision to completing the project or the tools, but because they are lacking the process and fundamentals. Instead of figuring out how to properly complete them, they ll do a render and not being fully satisfied, end up starting something new never really advancing. This can be very frustrating, but it doesn t have to be this way at all. By going through each step of the way from zero you will have the bridge needed to completing projects where many others fail. * Build High Quality Audio Projects quickly with just your computer By referencing the best analog hardware in the world, we will emulate their performance to results you did not even know were possible with just your computer and some headphones. Why do we teach the above? These days there are so many technologies out there and opinions on how to produce sounds, and learning just one software or thinking that it automatically takes expensive equipment deeply limits your ability to progress. Learning the lessons like the ones above are what it s going to take to truly level you up so that you re well ahead of the game in 2020 when it comes to modern audio production. The world is shifting more and more towards learning and working at home. This is an opportunity for you to start learning the most in demand skills, showcase those skills for thousands of listeners, and gain the experiences you need to develop your passion into something real. It would be an honor to take this journey with you and I hope you will give this a chance. I have poured my life s work into this course and I am very excited about this and can say hands down, there is no other course on the internet or off of it, like this one. This is one of a kind. Looking forward to seeing you in the lessons!
