Anatomy for Artists with Rey Bustos
MP4 | Video: h264, yuv420p, 1920x1080 | Audio: aac, 44100 Hz | Duration: 6h 53m | 6.41 GB

The Gnomon Workshop - Anatomy for Artists Volume 1 - Understanding the Back and Shoulder Muscles with Rey Bustos
Artistic Anatomy refers to the essential muscles that create the visible shapes that we see on a model s physique. Rey Bustos, famed illustrator and anatomist, teaches how to illustrate the complex back and shoulder muscles in a way that is preferred by most artistic anatomists.
When illustrating, it s not necessary for artists to know every single muscle of the body. By editing the key number of muscles that artists need to know down to a minimum, Rey begins the workshop with a focus on the Sacrospinalis (or Erector) spinae group some of the deep muscles in the center of the back that can be found along the spine all the way up to the base of the skull. These complicated, often-stringy muscles are important and keep humans upright but they can be challenging for artists to study individually. Rey reveals the simplest way to understand and interpret this muscle group and teaches easy-to-remember strategies for illustrating the forms.
Moving on, Rey addresses the medial form in the lower back, in between the two posterior superior iliac spines, and works up to the thorax. Thereafter, he layers muscles by placing them in order onto the skeletal frame to complete the study of the back and shoulders. His lectures in this 1-hour, 20-minute workshop are accompanied by stories that will help with remembering the shapes and relationships of the muscles and anatomy and are essential to making things memorable and easy to digest. A traditional drawing demonstration concludes the workshop to put all the theory into practice.
The Gnomon Workshop - Anatomy for Artists Volume 2 - Understanding the Leg and Foot with Rey Bustos
DESCRIPTION
In this workshop, Artistic Anatomist and Professor Rey Bustos delves into the anatomy of the human leg and foot. Rey splits the lecture into two sections: the lower leg and foot, then the upper leg, thigh and gluteals. In the first section, he explains and breaks down the forms and major tendons of the feet that make up the most important aspects necessary for every artist to be aware of. He then leads the lecture up to the essential muscles of the leg and lists each muscle and its placement on the skeleton while referencing a muscle sheet that is provided to you. Once the leg and feet are understood, Rey moves up to the thigh and gluteal section of the body. In this section, he starts not with individual muscles as he did with the lower leg, but with the four major groups of muscles in the thigh. These are the quadriceps, the adductors, the flexors (Hamstrings) and finally the gluteal muscles.
Rey includes some of the tendons, iliotibial band and relates how to better remember some of these areas as form groups. Though Rey explains the important individual muscles, this lecture makes it easier for the viewer to remember the bigger forms rather than the smaller individual muscles. By the end of this workshop, Rey s objective is to teach every student not so much about the details of each muscle but how to see the body in a fuller manner by seeing forms that might not have been seen before, simply because of the lack of awareness of these muscles and forms.
The Gnomon Workshop - Anatomy for Artists Volume 3 - Understanding the Front Torso & Arm
DESCRIPTION
Artistic Anatomist and Professor Rey Bustos returns with Volume 3 in the Anatomy for Artists series. This third instalment is divided into two segments, beginning with the Front Torso and conluding with the Arm. Rey launches the workshop with an in-depth study of the layers of muscles that matter to artists when drawing the upper bodies of human figures and characters. The guide shares how the Rectus Abdominis, Pectoralis Major, External Oblique, Deltoid, and Serratus Anterior, are all essential to an artist s understanding of human anatomy, in an easy-to-learn format.
The lecture continues with a focus on the arms, which Rey expertly divides into four main groups of function: the Flexors, the Extensors, the Twins, and the Mini Twins. Using a simplified approach, Rey explains these muscles as teams between groups much like in a sports competition. The workshop explains how teams of muscles work together, and how they compare by size and purpose. The teaching reveals all the important anatomical names along with helpful tips and tricks for remembering and associating them in your artistic practice.
Completing the workshop, you will have a sound knowledge of all the essential muscles that are important to artists when studying and drawing the human torso and arms. Rey s unique lecture and drawing demonstration is designed for artists of all levels to allow easy understanding of the key information that is pertinent to an artist s education.

Understand AutoCad and Photoshop Layers.
Assemble a professional quality Design Presentation on a standard sized presentation panel.
Requirements
No experience in AutoCad and Photoshop is required. None whatsoever.
Description
In this course we ll develop a clear and easy to follow workflow to bring hand drawn architectural sketches from the drafting table and onto the computer. The methodology involves the development of a targeted range of skills in AutoCad and Photoshop.
We begin with a brief discussion about the nature of architectural drawing and note the important distinction to be made between presentation and production/working modes. In this course we focus exclusively on presentation drawings: we re interested in acquiring skills to express design ideas.
Beginning with AutoCad we learn the surprisingly limited number of skills required to draw plans, sections and elevations (in metric as well as imperial) to generate the linework necessary for transition to Photoshop for rendering.
Once in Photoshop, we focus on the layer function with specific reference to its usefulness in rendering architectural drawings.
Skills in both AutoCad and Photoshop are developed through reference to a specific architectural project a small pottery studio of an appropriately manageable size.
At the end of this course we ll have generated a professional type presentation sheet (in this instance it happens to be a metric A1 but it could just as easily be a 24 x 36) with fully rendered plans, sections and elevations of the pottery studio arranged and labelled using standard architectural conventions.
The course is designed for absolute beginners. It might be particularly suitable for
students starting out in architecture college
people considering architecture as their career
architects of a certain generation who missed the initial transition from the drafting table to computer
All the files used during the making of this course (dwg, png, jpg, etc.) are fully available and downloadable for use.
Absolutely no previous experience in CAD or image manipulation is required but you will need access to working versions of both AutoCad and Photoshop.
Who this course is for
This course is for architecture students or others starting out in the architecture careers.

Creature Modeling with Zbrush & Marmoset Toolbag
Instructors: Eric Keller
22 Lessons | Duration: 5h 8m
Video: MP4 1920x1080 48 KHz | English
ZBrush/Maya/Marmoset Toolbag | Size: 5.678 GB
Eric Keller demonstrates how to accurately model a unique species of Mantis using ZBrush and Marmoset Toolbag in this 5-hour video workshop. Follow along with the project files provided, including Eric s personal references images, and sketches, along with his ZBrush Project files and the final Marmoset Toolbag render scene.
The Orchid Mantis scientifically known as the Hymenopus coronatus takes the center stage in this video workshop created for intermediate and advanced ZBrush artists. This comprehensive tutorial highlights many of the features released in recent versions of ZBrush and starts from the absolute beginning: photo references. Using Eric s reference images along with anatomical diagrams available online, Eric shows how to block out the initial shape from scratch using ZSpheres before adding and refining each part of the mantis, step by step.
Once the sculpt is fleshed out, Eric demonstrates his approach to applying color to the model using ZBrush PolyPaint for the first round of texture, before exporting the model and textures into Marmoset Toolbag for the final texturing and rendering stage.
This workshop aims to teach you the skills you need to apply to any creature design and is suitable for those looking to create highly detailed scientific visualizations, as well as artists wishing to create high-quality assets for animation, VFX, and games.

Sketching in Procreate
Semi-realistic Shading
Requirements
No prior experience needed at all
iPad
Procreate
Apple Pencil or other Pressure Sensitive Stylus is recommended
Procreate Pocket may work, but isn't tested
Description
Who doesn't like these lovely miniature trees? Looking closely at some Bonsai Trees together, can be a great tool to start you off or help you improve your drawing skills. In the 1st Part we're going to draw a Bonsai Tree from scratch and draw it all the way, just using the Procreate HB Pencil. No Procreate tricks or special effects, but just you - your pencil (or finger) - and drawing skills. And yes, you can absolutely do this! My step-by-step clear instructions will guide you through the whole process and help you create something beautiful. You will discover what to actually pay attention to, how to draw and sketch in Procreate, how to hatch - adding lovely light & shadow effects, ending up with a gorgeous Bonsai Tree.In the 2nd Part we're going to draw a Pine Bonsai Tree from scratch and draw it all the way, just using the Procreate HB Pencil. No Procreate tricks or special effects, but just you - your pencil (or finger) - and drawing skills. Building on the skills we've gained in the previous part, we're going to add a few effective techniques to it to be able to draw the Pine shaped Bonsai Tree successfully. In the 3rd part of Drawing Bonsai Trees, which can be done without having done the previous parts, we ll be focusing on semi-realistic-shading. Using our Apple Pencil in a total different way.But first we need to draw the tree, so I ll be showing you a few ways how to use the photo as a base for your sketch. Once happy with the sketch we ll discover how to shade with a pencil in Procreate. Of course we ll also pay some attention to bringing in light and shadow convincingly. We even go further with this one, creating a nice background which will make it look like we ve really drawn our Bonsai Tree with graphite.Using your pencil in this way might be a very different experience, but it will surely enhance your Procreate skills. In the 4th Part we re going to take the grey-toned Bonsai Tree we drew (or use the one I ve provided) and turn it into a lovely colored piece. There are several ways to go about this in Procreate. We ll be looking at 5 different methods to get the job done: Alpha Lock, Clipping Masks, Gradient Maps, Curves and Color Balance.I ll be showing you how to effectively use these different methods and we ll also be venturing into using a combo of the options to give us just the look we want ending up with the best result.Enjoy coloring the uncolored, or use these very helpful methods to change the colors of existing pieces into your liking. Another great skill to add to your Procreate toolbox. You will love drawing the various adorable Bonsai Trees, mastering semi-realistic-shading and doing some color manipulation in Procreate so come and join the fun and see what beautiful results you ll end up with. Aside from your iPad with Procreate and all the resources I provide there's nothing else needed to get started.

Sculpt accurate anatomy, texture & groom realistic animals for your portfolio
[/center]
What you'll learn
Sculpting the basic tiger skeleton with ZSphere
Sculpting the major superficial muscles
Adding skin & fat layer on top
Quick retopology using ZRemesher & PolyGroups
Quick UV unwrap in ZBrush
Posing our animal
Groom in Xgen & render in Maya/Arnold
Color Correction In Photoshop
Requirements
This course is not designed for absolute beginner Zbrush & Maya users.
I expect you to have some sort of basic ZBrush, Maya & Photoshop experience.
You should have Zbrush, Maya & Photoshop installed on your computer.
Description
Do you have problems sculpting realistic animals in ZBrush?
Tried searching for a step by step tutorial online but still no luck?
Then I welcome you to Nexttut education's Animal Anatomy Sculpting for Beginners..
WHY SHOULD YOU LEARN FROM ME
My name is Adrian Krokodil and with a bit of medical background I founded a company called SA Anatomy where I have been teaching human & animal anatomy in ZBrush for many years now. Precision & Accuracy has been always mandatory for me since I supply 3D Anatomical models around the globe.
BENEFITS
By the end of this course, you ll be able to,
Understand the fundamentals of animal anatomy for artists,
Sculpt, texture & groom realistic animals
WHAT WILL I LEARN
Sculpting the basic tiger skeleton with ZSphere
Sculpting the major superficial muscles
Adding skin & fat layer on top
Quick retopology using ZRemesher & PolyGroups
Quick UV unwrap in ZBrush
Posing our animal
Making a stand & eye parts
Polypaint our sculpts
Export all the required maps & files for Maya
Groom in Xgen & render in Maya/Arnold
Color Correction In Photoshop
COURSE PROJECTS
We will start by customizing our Zbrush so we can work much faster and efficiently. Then we ll use our ZSphere to block out the basic skeleton. Then after our proportions are in place we ll start blocking our muscles. Then we will sculpt the skin & fat layer on top(without the fine details yet). After that we will do a quick zremesher on our model using polygroups & guides, this is not to say our model will be game ready, it's just for us to get decent typology(Manual retopology is always recommended). We ll then sculpt a stand for our animal to help best present our art for our portfolio & model the eyes. Then we'll do quick UV s in ZBrush(Again not production ready). Then we ll pose our animal to a specific dynamic pose. Then we ll sculpt some fine details(We ll not be too concerned about the animal as it will be covered in fur). Then we ll polypaint our sculpts using ZBrush spotlight (which we ll also serve as guides for our groom). We ll use the multimap exporter to export the required maps & files for maya. Then we ll groom our animal in maya xgen then set up a quick scene for our renders with MtoA. Then lastly we ll do some quick color correction for our render in Photoshop.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR ME
I have designed this course for beginner sculptors, who want to sculpt anatomically correct animals in ZBrush but they struggle because they don't find a tutorial which is step by step, no fast forward, no skip and coming from a human & animal anatomy artist who s been doing this for years.
The course is also for artists who want basic knowledge in grooming & rendering realistic animals in Maya.
WHO IS NOT THE IDEAL STUDENT
This course is not designed for absolute beginner Zbrush & Maya users.
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW OR HAVE FOR THE COURSE
I expect you to have some sort of basic ZBrush, Maya & Photoshop experience.
You should have Zbrush, Maya & Photoshop installed on your computer.
JOIN ME NOW
So if you want to sculpt realistic animals in ZBrush, then join me now, and take your skills to the next level. Hope to see you in the course.
