Brand new to music?Have some music theory gaps you need to fill?Always wanted to play the piano, but didn't know where to start? If any of these are true, take this course!I want you to learn piano and music theory quickly. That's why I worked hard to make this the most compact, engaging, and easy to follow piano and music theory course on Udemy.I cut out the fluff, logically structured lectures, and worked hard to lay out concepts clearly.By the end of this course you'll understandProper piano techniqueThe white and black notes of the piano keyboardThe elements of music (notes, intervals, chords, scales)The Major and Minor KeysRhythmic SubdivisionHow to read sheet music (the notes on a page)This will give you a solid foundation to pursue more advanced study. Whether that's with a private teacher, or more advanced piano courses on Udemy.Learning the keyboard / piano is also a great instrument to start with and will help you learn other instruments faster.I think you'll really enjoy this course and I look forward to seeing you on the inside!VERY QUICKLY, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY YOUR FIRST SONGS ON THE PIANO OR KEYBOARDAt a very early stage, you will already apply what you've learned and start playing songs. First playing the melody with your right hand, later also adding your left hand. And what makes it a real pleasure to practice, is that you play a song together with a band that accompanies you while you are playing on your piano or electronic keyboard.

Description
Want to be a web or game developer? Even if you have never coded before, with this course you can learn the foundations of making a 3D game and coding for the web!"This was a good match for me, I have some programming background. Might be a bit heavy for people without any programming experience. Good overall starter project with great examples of how to code properly from the start."
In Part 1 of this course, we build a 3D SUPER MARLO RUN game in Unity® - from scratch.
This course does not assume any prior knowledge and is perfect for beginners. In fact, we begin with an introduction to Unity® for those who have never used it before.
This course is unique because you will learn how to make your own 3D art, models, and textures in Blender. We will show you how to integrate the art into Unity.
By the end of Part 1, you will have a functioning runner game that you can build on to add your own project ideas!
In Part 2, you learn how to build beautiful, well-functioning web apps. Join web developer Chris Veillette to start coding for the Internet.
Included in this course is material for beginners to get comfortable with the interfaces. Please note that we reuse this material in similar courses because it is introductory material. You can find some material in this course in the following related courses

Requirements
This is the basic Chinese course, so you do not need to know anything about Chinese.
You will learn everything you need to know.

Description
As you know, China is among the most powerful countries, and therefore, the demand for China and Chinese is increasing day by day. People generally think that Chinese is a very difficult language and they hesitate to start learning it. But Chinese is not as difficult a language as it seems. The pinyin and tones are intimidating at first and are considered difficult to read. But as you will notice during the course and I will constantly emphasize, the tones are not that difficult. During the tutorial, I will talk about the relationships between the pinyin and it will be much easier to keep in mind that way.

In this tutorial series, There will be about 120 videos and each video will have 10 questions. One of the most useful points of learning tones by listening is that you will see the words you have learned in many different questions, so it will be very difficult for you to forget and you will be able to understand them much more easily. Another point is that we will learn the pinyin that you can use in daily conversation, that is, you will be able to use the tones and pinyin we learned directly from questions when talking to a Chinese friend. This will allow you to speak fluently.

I will teach about 620 Chinese sentences. One of the most useful points of learning a language with sentences is that you will see the words you have learned in many different sentences, so it will be very difficult for you to forget and you will be able to understand them much more easily. Another point is that we will learn the sentences that you can use in daily conversation, that is, you will be able to use the sentences we learned directly from the stories or similar sentences when talking to a Chinese friend. This will allow you to speak fluently.

I teach Chinese by translating exactly 46 short and funny Chinese stories. One of the most useful points of learning a language with stories is that you will see the words you have learned in many different sentences, so it will be very difficult for you to forget and you will be able to understand them much more easily. Another point is that we will learn the sentences that you can use in daily conversation, that is, you will be able to use the sentences we learned directly from the stories or similar sentences when talking to a Chinese friend. This will allow you to speak fluently.

I prepared this course for those who don't know anything about Chinese, so you don't need any foundation. Try to fully understand the sentences I have explained in the videos and do not hesitate to ask me about the points you do not understand. I will answer your questions with additional videos. I recommend that you work by typing the characters at the beginning. In this way, you will be able to grasp the structure of the characters much faster.

Who this course is for
People who want to learn Chinese.
For people smart enough to see the importance of Chinese. :)

Viral Loads: Anthropologies of Urgency in the Time of COVID-19 (Embodying Inequalities: Perspectives from Medical Anthropology)
by Lenore Manderson (Editor), Nancy J. Burke (Editor), Ayo Wahlberg (Editor)
2021 | ISBN: 1800080255, 1800080247 | English | 488 pages | PDF/EPUB | 5 MB

Series: Embodying Inequalities: Perspectives from Medical Anthropology

A diagnosis of global inequalities exploited by COVID-19 and how we might evolve.

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted some lives more than others. While more than half the world's population experienced physical restrictions in the wake of the virus, Viral Loads reveals how the international response placed disparate burdens on exploited communities across the globe. Contributors from six continents situate the pandemic within a highly connected yet exceedingly unequal world marked by fragmented communities, austere economies, and unstable governments. Ambitious in its scope, Viral Loads insists that medical anthropology must be part of any future efforts to build a new post-pandemic world.

Viral: The Search for the Origin of COVID-19
by Matt Ridley, Alina Chan
English | November 16th, 2021 | ISBN: 006313912X | 416 pages | True EPUB | 9.49 MB

A new virus descended on the human species in 2019 wreaking unprecedented havoc. Finding out where it came from and how it first jumped into people is an urgent priority, but early expectations that this would prove an easy question to answer have been dashed. Nearly two years into the pandemic, the crucial mystery of the origin of SARS-CoV-2 is not only unresolved but has deepened.

In this uniquely insightful book, a scientist and a writer join forces to try to get to the bottom of how a virus whose closest relations live in bats in subtropical southern China somehow managed to begin spreading among people more than 1,500 kilometres away in the city of Wuhan. They grapple with the baffling fact that the virus left none of the expected traces that such outbreaks usually create: no infected market animals or wildlife, no chains of early cases in travellers to the city, no smouldering epidemic in a rural area, no rapid adaptation of the virus to its new host-human beings.

To try to solve this pressing mystery, Viral delves deep into the events of 2019 leading up to 2021, the details of what went on in animal markets and virology laboratories, the records and data hidden from sight within archived Chinese theses and websites, and the clues that can be coaxed from the very text of the virus's own genetic code.

The result is a gripping detective story that takes the reader deeper and deeper into a metaphorical cave of mystery. One by one the authors explore promising tunnels only to show that they are blind alleys, until, miles beneath the surface, they find themselves tantalisingly close to a shaft that leads to the light.

Until Proven Safe: The gripping history of quarantine, from the Black Death to the post-Covid future
by Nicola Twilley, Geoff Manaugh
English | October 12th, 2021 | ISBN: 1509867430 | 416 pages | True EPUB | 2.67 MB

Timely, eye-opening, provocative - you will see the world differently after reading it.' - Kim Stanley Robinson, author of Ministry for the Future

'Geoff Manaugh and Nicola Twilley offer answers that will make your jaw drop. Nothing about "quarantine" is as simple or straight-forward as you think.' - Laurie Garrett, author of The Coming Plague: Newly Emerging Diseases in a World out of Balance

Quarantine has shaped our world, yet it remains both feared and misunderstood. It is our most powerful response to uncertainty, but it operates through an assumption of guilt: in quarantine, we are considered infectious until proven safe. An unusually poetic metaphor for moral and mythic ills, quarantine means waiting to see if something hidden inside of us will be revealed.

Until Proven Safe tracks the history and future of quarantine around the globe, chasing the story of emergency isolation through time and space - from the crumbling lazarettos of the Mediterranean to the hallways of the CDC, to the corporate giants hoping to disrupt the widespread quarantine imposed by Covid-19 before the next pandemic hits through surveillance and algorithmic prediction.

Yet quarantine is more than just a medical tool: Geoff Manaugh and Nicola Twilley drop deep into the Earth to tour a nuclear-waste isolation facility beneath the New Mexican desert, strip down to nothing but protective Tyvek suits to see plants stricken with a disease that threatens the world's wheat supply, and meet NASA's Planetary Protection Officer tasked with saving the Earth from extraterrestrial infections.

The result is part travelogue, part intellectual history - a book as compelling as it is definitive, and one that could not be more urgent or timely.

A critical and evidence-based account of the COVID-19 pandemic as a political-economic rupture, exposing underlying power struggles and social injustices.

The dawn of the COVID-19 pandemic represented an exceptional interruption in the routines of work, financial markets, movement across borders and education. The policies introduced in response were said to be unprecedented-but the distribution of risks and rewards was anything but. While asset-owners, outsourcers, platforms and those in spacious homes prospered, others faced new hardships and dangers.

Unprecedented? explores the events of 2020-21, as they afflicted the UK economy, as a means to grasp the underlying dynamics of contemporary capitalism, which are too often obscured from view. It traces the political and cultural contours of a "rentier nationalism," that was lurking prior to the pandemic, but was accelerated and illuminated by COVID-19. But it also pinpoints the...

To Hell and Back: Humans of COVID
Barkha Dutt | 2022 | ISBN: 9391165575 | English | 288 pages | ePUB | 0,4 MB

The classic book on India's COVID pandemic Since 2020, our world has battled a single enemy - the coronavirus. In dealing with the pandemic, India has seen its own challenges and special tragedies. Two years of the pandemic may have already claimed anywhere between 3 and 5 million Indian lives. The lockdown of the first wave caused unprecedented devastation. And in 2022, Omicron has trigged a new challenge. When India's lockdown was first announced in March 2020, acclaimed journalist Barkha Dutt started an extraordinary series of road trips, recording the human story of the pandemic, one which she continues even today as we wrestle with the virus's latest avatar. In this book, she tells India's pandemic story through the stories of the people she covered - the migrant workers and politicians, businessmen and bureaucrats, doctors and nurses, factory workers and farmers, teachers and students, husbands and wives, parents and children. And through these accounts, she draws a startling picture not just of our plague years but the very nature of our country with its deep-rooted inequalities across class, caste and gender. Moving, gripping and vivid, To Hell and Back is an outstanding work by one of our foremost journalists, working at the height of her powers.

The Political Economy of Post-COVID Life and Work in the Global South: Pandemic and Precarity
Sandya Hewamanne, Smytta Yadav | 2022 | ISBN: 3030932273 | English | 281 pages | PDF | 4 MB

Series: International Political Economy

This edited volume highlights cascading effects of the pandemic and lockdown on informal economies of varied countries in the Global South. Uneven development after colonization, imperialism, and externally influenced conflict have caused many countries in the formally colonized or semi-occupied countries in the world to lag behind in wealth accumulation, investments in manufacturing, and technology. The fact that these countries were dragged into world market dynamics on an equal footing with already developed countries exacerbated these inequalities and saw the rapid burgeoning of informal economies. COVID-19 and the lockdown of western countries unravelled global production chains, resulting in hordes of workers in the Global South losing their livelihoods. Even people engaged in traditionally locally-bound economic activities, such as domestic work and sex work, found their livelihoods disappear. This volume brings together case studies from India, Brazil, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka to analyze global economic disruptions as they affected informal sector workers who were already largely invisible within state development policies. The chapters question whether existing models of neoliberal development are still conducive within the post-pandemic Global South as it grapples with rebuilding economies, livelihoods, institutions, and systems of governance.

The Killer's Henchman: Capitalism and the Covid-19 Disaster
by Stephen Gowans
English | 2022 | ISBN: ‎ 1771862742 | 272 pages | True PDF, EPUB | 8.83 MB

Summer 2021, the novel coronavirus is scything through populations worldwide. WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announces the Covid-19 pandemic will end "when the world chooses to end it.. We have all the tools we need. They include proven public health and social measures; rapid and accurate diagnostics; effective thebangutics including oxygen; and of course, powerful vaccines."
The pandemic didn't end.

Much of the world ignored the proven health and social measures Tedros mentioned. On the other hand, China, Vietnam, New Zealand and a few other countries had used those measures successfully to drive infections to zero. The rest of the world preferred to let the virus to run riot, or impose half measures, and only when hospitals were under an unbearable strain.
The promised vaccine exit ramp turned out to be more mirage than oasis. Countries that rolled out vaccines quickly to large parts of their populations, soon turned to boosters, but with little success.

Poor- and middle-income countries meanwhile experienced a global vaccine apartheid. They were left waiting for crumbs to fall from the rich countries' table, as new, possibly more virulent variants, threatened to emerge.

Stephen Gowans investigates why, when all the tools to avert a catastrophe were available, the world failed to prevent the Covid-19 disaster. He examines the business opportunities and pressures that helped shape the world's failed response. His conclusion: the novel coronavirus, a killer, had a helper in bringing about the calamity: capitalism, the killer's henchman.

Exposing the role profit-making played in creating the disaster, Gowans shows how capitalism, its incentives, and its power to dominate the political process, impeded the protection of public health and prevented humanity from using the tools available to solve one of its most pressing problems.

Stephen Gowans is an independent political analyst and writer whose principal interest is how public and foreign policy is formulated, particularly in the United States. His writings, which appear on his What's Left blog, have been reproduced widely in online and print media in many languages and have been cited in academic journals and other scholarly works. He is the author of three acclaimed books Washington's Long War on Syria (2017), Patriots, Traitors and Empires, The Story of Korea's Struggle for Freedom (2018), and Israel, A Beachhead in the Middle East (2019) all published by Baraka Books. He lives in Ottawa, Canada.
