If Dr.Mythili Ramakrishnan wants to be a successful politician, then she must be prepared for all these failiures in the begining. It is only after a few failiures, she can expect a success. It is an entry barrier.

The intimate conversation, of a serious matter, between the heroine Mythili and her husband Ramakrishnan.

“Mythili, you are beautiful,"  ..... " I know,” she said and smiled at me. “You are a heroine material, and I am wasting your beauty inside these four walls.  I am gonna let you act in movies .... ”

There is a logic in this conversation. Husband is clear on his mind.

“Really, Mythili .. You should be there in the movies, acting, dancing, and romancing the heroes,” I said.

Mythili should understand that this romancing is not real! It is only acting! Even if it is a bedroom scene where the hero and heroine are togather on bed, it is merely acting not real.

“Of course they would, but I won’t let them, because only one man can romance me, that’s my husband,” she said.

This romancing what she is talking about is real romancing (intimate relationship) The point is "True romancing is only with the husband" and acting as romancing is with any hero actor.

“But what if I say you must enter the film industry, and act with a lot of big heroes and romance them?” I said.

This perhaps is real action on bed with hero actors meaning intimate relationship with them. It is something happening in cine fields but behind the screen. However she is not in agreement for that. That is understandable because she is a chaste wife. Pathiviratha. She cannot afford to lose her chastity for earning some publicity or money.

“I want to enter Politics, not Cinema, you know I have promised my dad?” she said.  “Cinema is a powerful tool to enter Politics, Mythili.  If you act in movies, people will recognize your face and vote for you.

Husband suggests a realistic route to become a successful Politician

They will romance you in bed and you just have to pretend that you are enjoying the way they are romancing you,” I said.

The meaning is "the husband is aware that a chaste wife will not like to be on bed with someone else, but she must act as if she is liking it ! while the hero will do real. Ofcourse she will lose her Chastity bodyly but still remain a chaste wife on her mind.

The question is Where is Chastity ? in Body or in Mind ?

According to the husband it is in the mind but according to the wife it is in body as well.

“No Ram, I want to enter Politics straight away.  Only if I fail, I will think about entering Cinema,” she said.  “Your wish, ... "

Now she attempted to be a politician and contested in the Public election. The election result was not in her favor. If she had taken the route suggested by the husband perhaps she could have won. In any case it is the first attempt. Losing the election in the first attempt is forming a strong foundation for a successful future political career. She has lost her chastity by intimate relationship with just two politicians. She cannot expect success in this first attempt itself. She should not get upset for losing in the public election and she should not lose self confidence. It is not a big loss.

Having lost her chastity bodily in the process she must not feel bad ! She has not cheated her husband or anyone else ! Likewise no one has cheated her. The politicians also have not cheated, They promptly honored their commitments. There is no need for guilt feelings ! She is still a Chaste wife !
